    I've always had a lot of respect for Bobby Ryan. That increased significantly when he admitted he had a problem and sought help to overcome it.
    Now, learning about all of this, it's hard to put into words the amount of respect I have for this man and his resilience.

    Bobby Ryan is a great hockey player. His early life almost destroyed his opportunity to play hockey professionally. I lived in Owen Sound during his days playing with the Owen Sound Attack. I'm very thankful I had the opportunity to see him play then - AND now. Keep playing great hockey, Bobby. I' cheering for you.

    I recently had Bobby on my school's sports podcast and he's doing really well rn! We talked about his rehab, obviously that first game back, Olympics, World Juniors, etc. As a UFA, he says he wants to be picked up by Nashville, if any team wants to pick him up, since he just recently moved there with his wife and kids.

      Just playing devil’s advocate, but I think he meant that he knew he could become violent in situations. As in he knew he had a temper and could blow up on people. Men or women. Still awful. So he beats his wife, jumps bail, isn’t owning up to his crime, runs to another state, and his wife decides to join him and put Bobby in that situation!? What kind of family is this? Poor Bobby, he deserved better than that. And they use his hockey as an excuse to make this all ok. The father says he’s doing it for his son? If he cared about his son he wouldn’t have gotten into this mess in the first place.

    • @videogameplayer0552
      @videogameplayer0552 3 роки тому +6

      The wife joined him and put him in that situation because she forgave him. Something you don’t really understand. Also, they moved to California, because that’s where they had good hockey programs for Bobby, and he played in the 2001 Quebec international peewee hockey tournament, with the LA jr Kings. California just provided Bobby with a good hockey environment, and now he’s in the NHL, so yeah. Don’t complain.

    I dunno.. seems like kind of typical storyline with the exception of him being an nhl player. Millions of people go through this struggle on the daily

      that doesn’t make it any less awful that he had to go through that-sorry if that’s been your experience as well, but abuse is always abuse

      Just because others go through it doesn’t mean we should back away from the chance to raise awareness when it’s presented

    If you are wondering whether or not to watch this show my vote is : don't bother. Appreciate the story, but, creepy dad made me fast forward thru his interviews and now I feel sorry for the kid. Mom gets what she wanted. meh. I cant see the value of the show beyond catharsis for Bobby Ryan. Unconvincing, ugly, lip service. Sorry that Chris Simpson and to smile at that guy. Good luck Bob Ryan.
