    Hey yogis, in this week's pose breakdown I'm going to show you how to properly do Chair Pose/Utkatasana, also called Fierce pose sometimes. This is an amazing asana to engage the posterior chain of the body. It will create some heat and test your endurance. While it's not an overly complicated pose, there are a few key alignment tips to keep in mind. Hope this helps!

    Could you show us a puppy pose tutorial? I feel like I'm putting too much strain on my neck and upper back in that pose and tend to skip it in your videos. :(

    I have the same problem with my arms as you have. And that’s why it feels so uncomfortable for me trying to bring the arms inline with the ears.
    Thank you for explaining that this is not necessary. Now I’m sure I can do it better 👍😊😍

    Kassandra, whenever I do chair pose with big toes touching, once I squat down, my toes just do not stay touching and separate apart to me the same distance as my heels. I naturally walk with out-turned feet. Is this okay? Btw do you mean the big toes touch at the tip or the sides? Either way I still have the same problem. Even when I do hip width apart squatting, my feet still turn out. Also, I see all my toes and even some foot. You said we should see no more than the tip of our toes, but I don't know how to see less or what that means for me

You use it quite often in your videos and I’ve also done it in some other classes but I’m never exactly sure how it should be done.     I have recently started yoga. I had pins in my legs from a break 17 yrs ago and my hamstrings, Achilles’ tendons are crazy tight so I can always see almost all my feet.. any tips!?

    I really appreciate this, thank you for your clarity. I tried with my feet close and my knee instantly objected; it's nice to know the variation is there to accommodate body issues. Core engagement, always core engagement. It fixes nearly everything.
    What with your upcoming hiatus, I'm surprised you are not saving some of these to air during your absence? We won't miss you so terribly then. After all, when your knee broke you had some classes pre-recorded and set to air during part of your convalescence.

    Great mini tutorial, and very important details, coming from someone who suffered from back spasms and pain for months, went to physical therapy and learned about this dynamic of keeping the back strong and engaged when going between sitting and standing, like done in chair pose, don't let that tail bone poke out to the back when sinking into a sitting position, even when going to sit in a chair or stand up out of a chair, keep the tail bone tucked under with this motion, it keeps the back strong, so important as we age! Thanks Kassandra!

    When I sink down , I can be tilted no floating ribs weight in heels, but then i look down and i can see half my foot instead of just toes. Is this right?

      You might be dropping your chest a bit too low, I completely forgot to cover that in the video! It's not a big problem though as long as your spine is staying straight :)

      @@yogawithkassandra years😭😭😭. I was thinking 6 months lol. I've become much more aware of my incorrect posture. I have a serious hip tilt when I run and IT band syndrome. I started doing more core exercises along with yoga.
