Honestly, I'm hoping they do more of this. Before this video, my favorite was the "you're doing Warhammer wrong" one where they said to always paint with a friend.
There's something about Jay's enthusiasm that's nothing short of infectious, it's like he has the spirit of a child telling you about his sandcastle and all the effort that went into it.
If this were a tv show, Nick would be the likable underdog. Jay the talented and pompous protagonist, and Sean the enigmatic villain.

Jay is such a painting machine; his point jobs are excellent, and his bases really add to the Tyranids.
The American Fanta colour is so unnatural compared to the yellow of other countries

I once ordered a rueben at Culvers just to try something different. It was a perfectly acceptable rueben, but watching my wife devour her delicious butterburger, I realized that I chose poorly. Never again.
An unforgivable mistake

I know these types of videos are lots of fun to watch, but I could never go through that torture test of modeling. For me, painting is a stress relief and time where I can get out of my head and into another world if even for an hour or two. But thanks, Jay and Nick, for keeping my interest in modeling and wargames going strong with your awesome content!
I’m with you, dude. I get that this is their job and this is entertaining to watch and be part of, but I’d never do it either. However, I did take a lot of good ideas for my own painting and assembling from this. Both Nick and Jay have accessible recommendations!

Orange marines = Covenant of Fire. 2 bonuses with them; sons of vulkan are easy to paint unhelmeted faces, just grey base then oil wash. Bonus points for red eyes.
Then you can use old (Horus heresy) Word Bearer transfers for the logo and just cover the skull in ivory!! I think a few came with the old non-posable plastic Contemptor kit.
Brill video, love to see a video on how you speed painted up them Tyranids, brilliant bases also. adds so much to the models having a lovely detailed base also!

I'm sure it's been pointed out before, but that Leviathan box art looks exactly like Sc2: Wings of Liberty art and SC1 art (with the marine contrasted against the hydralisk).

My tip for picking out the inbetweeny armour bits - don't, just treat them like any other bit of armour. By the year 40,000 I'm sure they'll have invented coloured rubber. Cos, ya know, we have already, so, ya know.
(Of course, if you *want* to pick them out, go for it!)

The Fanta Marines look amazing. Very stunning. I've been on the fence with getting into 40k with Kill Team and playing orks, and I love that the lore is so vast it encourages whatever paint job you want to play. My main wargame experience was LOTR and Star Wars Legion, where painting anything other than canon colors feels so wrong to me.

Woot woot! I think this type of video is your best. It’s great to see Nick in front of the camera, and that backseat swag lord. Lol
As a punishment you both should buy THAT ONE model you always wanted desperately for your army, that dream piece you always wanted... and then paint it in a way that completely clashes with the rest of your army.
Paint it in a way that, when put onto the battlefield, your opponent would stare at it in confusion as if saying "Did someone from a previous match forget one of their models? This definetly isn't yours!"
For example: that one hero/mech/warmachine you always wanted for your Dark Templars, that forgotten dream of yours... but bright neon pink and green with a disco-themed base.

Punishment should be you each have to buy a Box (any box will do) and paint each others main Army Scheme as best as humanly possible. So nick paints jay’s black templars and Jay paints Nicks Blue Orks
Thinking back I can't remember an injury during assembly of any of the kids I have built. But I clearly remember a base of miniatures that I had painted for an ancient war game jamming their Spears into my hand when I kind of carelessly put that hand down on the table during a game.
A fun video would be Jay painting his entire space marine pile of shame
Great video. I am currently painting my first 1,000 pt army of Chaos Space Marines to jump into 10th; and this gave me a much needed second wind to keep painting!

In the past i dont hated basing my minis and rushed it every time. This year i bought a 3d printer and and start printing Epic Basing. Now i realy enjoy creating uniqe bases for my minis
