Honestly, I'm hoping they do more of this. Before this video, my favorite was the "you're doing Warhammer wrong" one where they said to always paint with a friend.
There's something about Jay's enthusiasm that's nothing short of infectious, it's like he has the spirit of a child telling you about his sandcastle and all the effort that went into it.
A round of applause for Nick!! Excellent looking marines, love that orange and not having regularly painted for a bit they turned out excellent!! 👏👏👏 And Jay did good too I guess.
Wow. I’m surprised Games Workshop didn’t send you some copies considering you are 40k’s greatest champion. I have to say you are my go to channel for 40k and the tabletop hobby. GW show this man some love. He deserves it.

I know these types of videos are lots of fun to watch, but I could never go through that torture test of modeling. For me, painting is a stress relief and time where I can get out of my head and into another world if even for an hour or two. But thanks, Jay and Nick, for keeping my interest in modeling and wargames going strong with your awesome content!
I’m with you, dude. I get that this is their job and this is entertaining to watch and be part of, but I’d never do it either. However, I did take a lot of good ideas for my own painting and assembling from this. Both Nick and Jay have accessible recommendations!
I once ordered a rueben at Culvers just to try something different. It was a perfectly acceptable rueben, but watching my wife devour her delicious butterburger, I realized that I chose poorly. Never again.
OMG, I have been working on the Leviathan box for 3 days now, and I only have 15 models built. 😳 You guys rocked it! I love the Orange Marines, and I can't wait to see you fine tune that scheme. Ok, now back to work...
I drove across breadth of America sampling road offerings along the way. Culvers is the clear standout by a country mile. I live in the Netherlands now and still dream of the Culvers Butter Burger.
Brill video, love to see a video on how you speed painted up them Tyranids, brilliant bases also. adds so much to the models having a lovely detailed base also!
Orange marines = Covenant of Fire. 2 bonuses with them; sons of vulkan are easy to paint unhelmeted faces, just grey base then oil wash. Bonus points for red eyes. Then you can use old (Horus heresy) Word Bearer transfers for the logo and just cover the skull in ivory!! I think a few came with the old non-posable plastic Contemptor kit.
Those orange marines looked great! 👍 Jay's BT's were great too, of course, but we expect that by now. 😊 My tip for picking out the inbetweeny armour bits - don't, just treat them like any other bit of armour. By the year 40,000 I'm sure they'll have invented coloured rubber. Cos, ya know, we have already, so, ya know. (Of course, if you *want* to pick them out, go for it!)
You guys smashed it considering the time limit! I only got the ballistus dread and the new apothecary, the latter of which has taken me three days to do alongside a unit of desolators 😂 Also love seeing Nick in the videos!
Another cracking video! Can't believe it's been 2years since nick did the blue ork army challenge! He's still got it though! Thanks for the effort guys! Stunning paint jobs all round, can't believe how good your fast paint schemes have become! All the loves! ❤ More nick please! (Jay is still my fave but have missed the nick face! 😂)
Nicks Harry Potter desk cracks me up! Well done gents!! Pickle screamer killer!!! Both your painting looks amazing!!! Thanks gents!! Fantastic as always!!!
I also wanted to make an orange space marines chapter in a similar vein! Could I have a more precise recipe? Also for Jay's Tyranid scheme, really cool! Couldn't wait to see your approach to Leviathan and can't wait for the terrain video!
Great effort. It's true that you don't realise how much work goes into this until you're on a deadline. Amazed at what great results you both got from contrast and speedpaints
Great video. I am currently painting my first 1,000 pt army of Chaos Space Marines to jump into 10th; and this gave me a much needed second wind to keep painting!
I'm sure it's been pointed out before, but that Leviathan box art looks exactly like Sc2: Wings of Liberty art and SC1 art (with the marine contrasted against the hydralisk).
The Fanta Marines look amazing. Very stunning. I've been on the fence with getting into 40k with Kill Team and playing orks, and I love that the lore is so vast it encourages whatever paint job you want to play. My main wargame experience was LOTR and Star Wars Legion, where painting anything other than canon colors feels so wrong to me.
Over the long weekend I was able to take a Death Guard kill team from Primed to 90% Painted :)... Just have to touch up a few places and do the bases. im so stoked on a project comming together. great work guys
I painted my Screamer Killer in the albino scheme from Midwinter Minis, different from the rest, to make it stand out as a genetic defect and it looks awesome. I love the new minis. Have fun painting the rest. :)
Always inspirational to see a big project knocked out in quick time. I was skeptical about that orange until the final finished group shots, but it worked. Now I wonder what their Fanta-stic insignia should be.
Wow!!! He really came out great!!! I’m working on a Salamander army, and the sand paper is a great idea for the fire drakes scales!!! Thanks for the idea!!!😊
Nick, space marines are deceptive. They look easy to paint at first blush, but end up having a TON of fiddly details that take forever. Also, Orange Crush FTW!!! It’s also not as good as you remember from childhood, BUT is better than Fanta. 😊
In the past i dont hated basing my minis and rushed it every time. This year i bought a 3d printer and and start printing Epic Basing. Now i realy enjoy creating uniqe bases for my minis
I was in the painting stream over on your twitch channel the night before the release... All I saw was the title/tumbnail to know I'm in for an awsome ride! Thanks for all your hard work put into the hobby, you all seem like wonderful people! (Does this comment include Sean ...)
So you need a punishment if you fail? Shaun is right there, whoever fails has to be Shaun's valet for the day - like Jeeves from Jeeves and Wooster. Or his maid, I ain't picky.
They look awesome, loving the fanta marines, my successor chapter has orange terminators :) as a punishment for not finishing everything you should both have to eat a ghost pepper then speed paint a mini from the POS. 🌶🥵🖌
yalls friend group makes me wish my friends were into the hobby fr! The closest thing I got is one friend who likes board games so I at least got him into the WH board games a bit. Nice on Nick for using Fanta as inspiration for his marines. The name shockingly kinda fits 40k. I think its at great color scheme
For punishment you should celebrate. That was a huge undertaking and you did very well. Paint the rest and get them to your master level. I would love to see all 4 armies complete.

Exactly what state in the Midwest are you I’m a fellow midwesterner I live in Iowa
Man these Jay v Nick ones are such a fun ride. Y'all are really just doing your thing, and it's nice
I hope they do more like this. They have good energy

Easily best Leviathan video out there. Since the pile of shame was small, your punishment is watch a movie.
May I suggest Startship Troopers to get into the mood.
@MeAndSomeRandoms after The Brave Little Toaster of course.
Super happy to see another Jay and Nick challenge face-off on the channel- there’s officially a trilogy of them now.
What are the other 2? Not sure if I've seen them
@@joelgoodson4802 There's the one they did for AoS 3.0, something like "Why you can't paint alone". The third one, I don't know.
@@joelgoodson4802 Yeah, there's the Age of Sigmar one and then the 10,000 pt. Necron v Orks army repainting
If this were a tv show, Nick would be the likable underdog. Jay the talented and pompous protagonist, and Sean the enigmatic villain.
Someone say villain?
I like Nick's Fanta Menace Marines.
Jay is such a painting machine; his point jobs are excellent, and his bases really add to the Tyranids.
The American Fanta colour is so unnatural compared to the yellow of other countries
Hope you enjoy camels up. A great little game.
Wish I had the skill to crack out the Leviathan in a quick time like you guys.
A round of applause for Nick!! Excellent looking marines, love that orange and not having regularly painted for a bit they turned out excellent!! 👏👏👏
And Jay did good too I guess.
Jay's painting skills are immaculate, that tyranid army was beautiful!!! (If youre going to praise one, just praise the other)
@@Gluin025 praising everyone means praising no one
Insane results on the marines given the time frame, Jay, particularly those terminators.

Part of me feels inspired to do a 15 hour paint day. The other part of me is afraid that
I just might die if I tried. You two are beasts!
Jay casually speedpainting the best looking termies on UA-cam 😂
They were so good
I drove across breadth of America sampling road offerings along the way. Culvers is the clear standout by a country mile. I live in the Netherlands now and still dream of the Culvers Butter Burger.
It’s not even close. I will not go anywhere else I’ll just wait until I’m home to get food.

Shawn in the back with his Lord Solar Leontus gonna destroy both Jay and Nick with their Leviathan boxes lol

8:51 Jay in the back priming or something is hilarious 😂
watching you build an entire box while I put together a single miniature is so much fun
