As I read the Bible from the beginning one of the first emotions is fear. When you realize how far we are from righteousness its a scary feeling. We have to have a savior , an advocate . Praise Jesus
When I started reading the Bible, i agree that fear is one of the emotions but because I don't want to go to hell. But when I started understanding the Bible, I felt shame and It makes me understand of what fear of God means
@@vanessac0382 yes! shame being one of the feelings that caught me as well. To the point where i felt too ashamed to read more, or even pray because i felt like i didn't deserve to even say a thing to Him.
IT'S LIKE JESUS SAID, HOLY BIBLIE! IF THESE DAYS WHERE NOT SHORTENED NO ONE COULD BE SHORTENED BECAUSE OF THE ELECT. MATHEWS: 24, 22. Never underestimate the return of JESUS, He will come like a thief. With GREAT GLORY with your ANGELS, that will SHINE WEST TO EAST.
Is it God that said that or somebody who spoke for God. Because fear means to be scared , or to feel an overwhelming sense of danger. So how do you people come to the conclusion that those words make sense. It seems pretty clear that fear , ecspecially how it is worded in the scripture you said , means to actually be scared of him. And the second bit is a cover up to make it seem less cruel.
@@angelface8210 There are other kinds of fear like the fear of disappointment. Just as one strives to please their earthly father a Christian strives to please their Heavenly Father. Fearing to disappoint him and ultimately fearing his punishment. Like it was explained in the the video, God is a vastly different and indescribable being of unimaginable power. Even so he loves us purely with the same unimaginable sense. He has laid out his commands for his creation and just as your dad laid out rules for you under his roof if you don’t follow them there are consequences, albeit with God deadly consequences. At the same time God takes care of his people and lifts them out of despair and comforts them always. I pray this message reaches you and blesses you, God bless and peace be with you. 28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28 KJV 5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. 9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: 10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. 11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: 12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. 13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. 14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. Proverbs 3:5-14 KJV
@@angelface8210well if the Bible is the inspired word of God then it doesn’t matter, also the word used for fear also translates as morally reverence. So if God hates evil and I have a reverence for God aka a fear of the lord and an understanding of his lordship in my life I therefore won’t desire or love evil like the wicked do that despise God and don’t have a reverence for him
The more you read scripture, the more you will see grace. Warnings are grace. If God killed us for our first or thousandth sin, He would be right to do so. All I see is grace in the word.
True There is a verse in Psalm about this No man would exist if God actually punished us fully for all our sin God has more love and mercy than wrath in my opinion Because if God had more wrath humanity wouldn't exist
reasons why we need to reverence Him (fear), because all that we are is because He has poured out His mercy upon us@@dude9318 . Fear doesn't reduce grace. In fact a genuine fear of God is the acknowledgement of all that grace and therefore taking Him seriously.
@@dude9318actually his wrath is more and none of the Human race deserves His grace . But since he is Love he gave his only begotten son and poured out the Holy Wrath on him so that he’ll look at Jesus and his righteous and passes us by ❤️✝️
If there’s one thing lacking in teachings in our churches today, it is this particular topic! Thank you for posting this content. Always a blessing to hear Pastor Paul Washer. Praying that God will raise faithful men like him!
Paul isn’t a pastor. He was a missionary in Peru & is now the founder & head of a missionary society, HeartCry, that sends & support workers who preach the gospel to those who have never heard the gospel.
@@danielsmith225 Paul Washer himself said in his (many) sermons that, he is not a pastor and that he is grateful for the elders that support him. He said that pretty often over many years. @@tomcogar851 There would be a greater " Awe" and "Reverence" if the "FEAR" of the Lord was in the hearts of the people. Just like what happened to Annaias and Sapphira in the book of Acts. Dropped Dead and the people "Feared" God. Reverence Restored
The fear of the Lord entered me and I ran, that was a Friday, Sunday evening I gave in and surrendered to Him. The fear is still there as He is an almighty Father.
Thank you for clarifying the "Daddy" nickname thing. It grinds my spirit to hear people call God "Poppa", "Daddy", "Daddy-God", etc. It's irreverent and seems immature. We are not to remain as a child even if we are God's children. We should still grow to recognize God as Father and King. There is no love lost, only maturity and understanding gained.
Yes I agree. It sounds silly and irreverent. I thought I was the only one that felt that way. Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is Holy, Awesome and Magnificent. Not daddy.

It’s incredible to think that Jesus calls us friends. Even Abraham was the friend of God. “I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.” John 15:15
Read Luke cap 17 vers 7 to 10read in Luke chapter 17 with verses 7 to 10 and you will understand that we are useless slaves and until you see yourself like this you do not realize the greatness of God and how great is His mercy towards us (Mercy) be blessed
@@mihaicristea5983 .... He didn’t refer to them as slaves but as servants. It’s my opinion that he mentions this to combat the human condition of pride. Even unto the very end his disciples were arguing over who would be the greatest and denying that they wouldn’t abandon him. Peter challenged Jesus and said he would die with him. John records the words of Jesus, “you are my *friend* if you do what I command you.” Abraham was a friend of God. We, in Christ, are the fulfillment of the Abrahamic promise. We are friends with God. We are no longer his enemies. John also records, “there is no fear in love. Perfect love casts out fear.” & “we love him because he first loved us.” When we comprehend the love that God has for us we respond to that love towards him and towards each other. We have not been given a spirit of fear, but of love ...” We should maintain a spirit of reverence for the Lord, but there exists a fear that we should avoid. It is a crippling fear that causes some to earn or maintain their salvation by works meant to manipulate God and not from a pure motive of love.

I’m 73 yo and there are times, especially in the midst of relentless circumstances due to aging, that I do call Him Dad or Daddy. In fact I talk about my natural father to God and how I honored him and how I would run to him when he got home from work. Regardless of public opinion, in my own personal prayer time when desperately crying out for relief, I refer to Him as Dad or Daddy. So far He has not scolded me or placed on my heart to not call him Daddy or signified His disdain for it. Instead He lovingly looked beyond my faults and saw my need and answered my prayer. 🙏🏽
Yes. Thank you. Such a view of the Father isn’t simply “flippant or trite”… it’s the ultimate comfort and trust. While we should increase in our fear and see I think it’s actually more difficult for most to grow in the comfort and rest of our Papa.
Amen...HE knows your heart. I call HIM 'AMA' (Philippine word for father). 'We' can call HIM in that respect, for me in a very endearing closeness. When I call HIM it's not because I don't hallow HIS name, but because of our/my passionate closeness THAT HE is all THAT to us/me. Again, no need to explain for HE knows our ❤...when we know that, we are so FREE. HE loves us..

All l know is that the Holy Spirit is using Mr. Washer, the late David Wilkerson, and Veron Ashe to fed my soul.
Wow, I could've written this. The same thing happens to me each time I listen to one of his sermons. God always answers a question or confirms something I've been thinking in Paul and David's sermons.
“And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habits of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.” Hebrews 10:24-25 It is wrong that you have forsaken meeting with the body of Christ. God commands His people to assemble together regularly, so repent of disobeying Him, and He is faithful and just to forgive us!
You should find a biblically sound church. Its in the Bible that believers are to assemble, but these videos are a great blessing and very helpful also! God bless

I see fearing Yahweh as Father not so much as "I'm scared of God" which we should be, but as caring about His opinion and will above everything else. Like when we say we fear men, we're saying we care what they think and what they'll do to us. But when we fear God, we're saying we care what He thinks and what He is going to do to those who reject His word.
Always question everything. Do not follow people. Jesus trusted no one...not even the disciples. They failed Him when He was down here, and then He died because they were so screwed up.

Paul Washer helped me choose the right path and to know Elohim.... My hope prayer is to listen to his preaching and address Our Father and His Heir by their Hebrew Names. Yahuah bless Pastor Washer one of the few Christians that diligently search the scriptures
This is what it means to fear God: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil." (Proverbs 3:5-7 ESV) We do not lean in our own understanding when we use the Word of God as our guidance for every decision we make. "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness." (2 Timothy 3:16 ESV) God will never ask us to do something that contradict His Word.

"So we have known and believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them. Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness on the day of judgment, because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in love." - 1 John 4, NRSV

The answer to the question is found in Ecclesiastes 12:13,14; Fear God, and keep His commandments, for it is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

If you tell a man that God is demanding no good works of him whatsoever, no religious observances or church ordinances, that God is not asking him to undertake any duties at all, but that God invites him to believe a glad message that his sins have already been dealt with at the Cross, and that God expects him to believe this good news and be exceedingly happy about it. If you tell an unsaved man such a story at this, he is astonished and overwhelmed-yet this is the Gospel! Our Apostle, Paul, reveals the following great doctrines; 1. The unrighteousness before God of all men. 2. The impossibility of justification by works before God- that is, of any man’s attaining a standing of righteousness before God by anything done by him. Do what a man may, he is a condemned sinner still. 3. The fact and the Scripturalness of righteousness on the free gift principle-that is, of Divine righteousness, separate from all man’s doings, conferred upon man as a free gift from God. 4. Propitiation-that satisfaction of God’s Holy Nature and law for man’s sins rendered by Christ’s blood. 5. Reconciliation-the removal by Christ’s death for man of that obstacle to righteousness which man’s sin had set up between God and man. 6. The plan of the actual conferring of the gift of righteousness upon all who believe, without any distinction. This change of a sinner’s standing before God, from one of condemnation to one of righteousness, is called Justification. Negatively, it is deliverance from guilt on account of Christ’s shed blood and deliverance out of the old creation by identification in death with Christ on the Cross. Positively, it is a new standing in the risen Christ before God. 7. Redemption-the buying back of the soul through the blood of Christ from sin; from the curse of the law-even death, involving exclusion from God under penalty; from the "power of death," which involves the hand of the enemy; and from all iniquity. 8. Forgiveness-the going forth of Divine tenderness in remitting the penalty for sin in view of the blood of Christ trusted in, and in complacency and fellowship to creatures who before were necessarily under Divine judgment. 9. Remission of sins-that is, the actual removing of transgressions or trespasses from the sinner, so that for all time and eternity his sins shall not again be upon him. 10. Identification-(see above, Justification). The great fact that those who are in Christ were united with Him at the Cross by God’s sovereign inscrutable act and were crucified with Christ and buried with Him, so that their history is now ended before God. And when Christ was raised up as the Firstborn of the new creation, they also were raised up with Him and their history began as new creatures in God’s sight in Christ, the Last Adam. Of course, in the experience of the Christian there comes a time when he is actually made partaker of this new life-that point of time when he is, as we say, saved, or converted, or born again, etc. Nevertheless, the life that is in every Christian came up out of the Tomb, and it is in Christ Jesus that a man is created anew. 11. Incorporation-This tremendous doctrine Paul alone mentions, and he makes it practically the foundation of all his exhortations to the saints with regard to their conduct and life. By "incorporation" we mean the fact that all those who are really saved and are new creatures in Christ Jesus become members of one organism (called "the Body of Christ"), which is more real than the very earth we tread upon-Christ Himself in Heaven being the Head of this Body and every real Christian a member of it. So that believers are thus members of Christ in Heaven and also members one of another here on earth. No wonder Paul is able to exhort the saints to love one another when they are members one of another! (Rom. 12; 1 Cor. 12; Eph. 4). 12. Inhabitation-The wonderful fact that the Body of Christ and each member of it individually is inhabited, indwelt, by the Holy Spirit Himself, and not only so, but that the Church is being "built together" as a great temple of God so that in the future God’s actual eternal dwelling place will be this wonderful, mysterious company built into a building called "a holy habitation of God in the Spirit." This mystery is a great and marvelous one-the fact that we are saved, are partakers now of the life of the Lord in glory, that the Holy Spirit indwells us. 13. Divine Exhibition-That is, that through the Church in the ages to come is to be made known that which God counts His "riches," even His Grace (Eph. 2:7,@). Paul in his wonderful revelation declares that God hath reconciled the world to Himself; that God was in Christ (at the Cross) reconciling the world unto Himself (2 Cor. 5:19). Men do not know this, but they conceive that something stands between them and God before God will accept or forgive them. 2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Colossians 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 1 Timothy 3: And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. To me in my journey, fear of the Lord has been basically respecting him and realizing that he sees everything that we do and wants us to act properly towards others out of respect for him. Use the life of Jesus as a model for your own life. If you are kind to someone's face and then talk behind their back, that is disrespectful towards God as well as towards that person. Another important thing I have learned is that we must be forgiving towards others that have wronged us. Do you think that you are so special that you can go into the day of judgment and say to God, "send these people who have hurt me in my lifetime to hell because they are wicked but at the same time forgive me of all of my sins." That is hypocrisy and it is not a good idea to try and put yourself far above others. The teachings of Jesus can be hard to apply since we are only human and our flesh is weak to sin and temptations but if you keep persistence in prayer and ask for help eliminating sin from your life, God will be faithful and sanctify you. Good luck in your journey with Christ friends. God bless.
When I was 16 years old I was living the life of a thirty-year-old in regards to World experience and lifestyle. Not having father or mother only older brothers and I was left to my own to make my own path in life. I decided at the age of 13 that I would make God as my father. because there was none other around. At the age of 16 I was telling people that I did not fear God that I loved him he was my dad. After several weeks had passed I was awakened about 3:00 a.m. to the sound of shattering glass tons and tons of shattering glass. I woke up from the noise and there was a door the house that slammed that made the house walls Shake. I looked out the window as I was laying on the couch and a bolt of lightning struct 15 ft away from the window that lasted at least 10 seconds or longer. For lightning that is a long time. A long long time. There was a presence of a Holy God the Lord Jesus himself that came slowly through the ceiling and there was a Hollow Roar that filled the room with a white fog mist that also filled the room. The measures that the Lord's body came through the ceiling was the measure of fear that gripped me. I could not move I could not speak I just wanted to hide my face from his presence. And it was unable to move I was so frightened! I stuttered the words. I do fear you my lord and my God with Great Fear. At that moment the presence began to proceed back up through the ceiling and peace came into my my mind body and soul at the same time in measure. When the Lord's body was fully out of the room and His feet had gone through the ceiling I was so at peace I passed out. I woke up sometime later saying my Lord my Lord my Lord. Everything was back to normal there was no fog smoke in the room the hollow Roar was gone and there was no presence of God it was normal again. The Lord himself came to me and allowed me to experience I was so terrified I couldn't move. What an awesome God we serve that he would take time to visit his children. This was one of many visions and Supernatural experiences throughout my life. They continued for the next 46 years
Thank you so much Pastor Washer, I came to CHRIST after reading Daniel Chapter 3. I see JESUS the same in the Old and New TESTAMENT. Too much to tell.🍃⚘🍃⚘
Begining is the important word because it is exactly only at the beginning we should fear God. Wisdom is when we are left only with love for God and our fellowman.
This fear is reverent fear and so I would think it would remain and even increase because the more you know Him the greater He becomes. He is awesome in the old sense of the word so you can certainly tremble in glorious awe.
@@kuzivaj.z Every earthly father wishes his son will be like him. The heavenly Father don't want us to be more separated from him but the opposite. John 17:23 says it in a wonderful way. For me, the question is not what God will became but what we will become. When we know who we are during faith, we will become kings in our own life. Romans 5:17 for instance says "For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ." But anyway, fear is only in the BEGINNING according to the bible.
@@riveravon5296 that is true God wants us to be like Him as we are created in His image, but we and our earthly fathers are human so we can even surpass our earthly fathers. And then even to think who are we that we are to be made like Him share in His glory, it is too wonderful to understand as David put it. And it seems that it is the beginning in that it is the start of the path of wisdom, the mouth of the river. Just as our faith in Christ is the new birth, we continue to live by this faith which grows from its authoring and perfecting by Christ. So will our reverence and wisdom grow 🙏🏾
@@kuzivaj.z Yes it is clear when we read what is written. A beginning is of cause a phase not the endpoint. The end is to be a brother with Jesus Christ. Romans 8:29, 30. This is our glorification. This is how we will become kings. Revelation 1:6; 5:10; 20:4,6.
From how other people or sources answer this, in which I would agree with alot more, is that there are two types of fears: 1) Fear of God's wrath or punishment 2) Fear of disappointing God or God's disappointment in you
As I read the Bible from the beginning one of the first emotions is fear. When you realize how far we are from righteousness its a scary feeling. We have to have a savior , an advocate . Praise Jesus

Never underestimate the return of JESUS, He will come like a thief. With GREAT GLORY with your ANGELS, that will SHINE WEST TO EAST.
“The fear of the Lord is the hatred of evil” - Proverbs 8:13

7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:

Regardless of public opinion, in my own personal prayer time when desperately crying out for relief, I refer to Him as Dad or Daddy.
Our Apostle, Paul, reveals the following great doctrines;
(Rom. 12; 1 Cor. 12; Eph. 4).
12. Inhabitation-The wonderful fact that the Body of Christ and each member of it individually is inhabited, indwelt, by the Holy Spirit Himself, and not only so, but that the Church is being "built together" as a great temple of God so that in the future God’s actual eternal dwelling place will be this wonderful, mysterious company built into a building called "a holy habitation of God in the Spirit."
This mystery is a great and marvelous one-the fact that we are saved, are partakers now of the life of the Lord in glory, that the Holy Spirit indwells us.
Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Colossians 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
1 Timothy 3: And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
To be able to experience moral compunction so you can turn back to God, please hear Him speak to you, by hearing Him speak to you in Romans 1:18-3:20

God bless.
Thank you for this. It's very encouraging.
Amen!

Great discussion and so well answered. Biblically. Thankyou
Psalm 130:4 “But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.”😌
I fear God!
Before and after my conversion.
My fear is even the more now!
Fear! Fright! Afraid!
And I know he loves me!
Romans 5:17 for instance says "For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ."
But anyway, fear is only in the BEGINNING according to the bible.
@@riveravon5296 that is true God wants us to be like Him as we are created in His image, but we and our earthly fathers are human so we can even surpass our earthly fathers.
I make this distinction because God will always be greater than us as we were created as His image and so there would always be reverence for Him as the almighty holy Creater God.
Truly awe-inspiring how great of a God we serve...
My most favorite Bible teacher ♥️ thank you for this episode!!!🥳👏🏻👍🏻

God bless you both! Love brother Washer! Praise the Lord!
From how other people or sources answer this, in which I would agree with alot more, is that there are two types of fears:
1) Fear of God's wrath or punishment
2) Fear of disappointing God or God's disappointment in you
That right brother Paul u Said it in the very right way and in Truth
