She understands she is forgiven, please help her to really feel this and bask in the peace and healing of this truth in Your presence. Please help her to be still before You daily, and to hear and discern Your voice, that she can now walk with You in intimacy without fear of condemnation because of Christ’s completed work. Thank you Lord for hearing and answering this prayer for Gwen. In Jesus’ name amen 🙏🏼

Extremely helpful....only the evil one wants you to look back and then can constantly accuse you of past sin and guilt....recognize this attempt immediately and dismiss it !.... once forgiven by God, it is forever forgotten....gone!...our response to this grace/kindness should be pure gratitude and reflect it by doing the exact same thing and forgive others too.
Do you know why Satan uses tricks and lies and coverup and riches and worldly glories? To make sure that man doesn't accept the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on their behalf, and they will have to pay for their sins, like him, without knowing that they could be forgiven- as long as they choose to receive this grace, by faith I'm Jesus Christ. That's why he uses fear and fake threat tactics to keep them under subjection until they're destroyed. God's blessings makes rich, and He adds no sorrow with it. God gives power to get wealth and to enjoy it- it is the gift of God! Every good and perfect gift, comes down from God, the Father of Lights, with whom there's no variableness, neither a shadow of turning!
@@ronkebarber6238 AMEN . yep satan's main job while here on and given rule to this earth is to collect as many souls as he can before the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Romans 8:1 There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Amen I condemned myself for years and the LORD enlightened me through this verse. It changed my life because I knew it was true!
Thank you! I love your message that guilt is to be embraced. We eat chocolate proudly at our church so it is perfectly normal for our kids to not be let’s say athletic. I would not be ashamed of fatness as it is part of being a good Christian to tolerate guilt, and those that are not guilty might not be forgiven and thus might not reach heaven. I myself often have guilty feelings of not enough faith in God but I use this guilt to ask for forgiveness so I can be saved. I don’t think we should try to overcome our guilt but recognise it as part of being a Christian, even if it is difficult to live with. Even if we feel worse with this guilt, it I better to have it and know that we are true Christians. It brings us down, but it brings us together. Together, and down. Only then we can be saved. Being fat, well I’m bot fat to myself but if you choose to identify 558 pounds as fat, then that is your choice, but being like this does make me feel guilt but from my faith I think guilt is not an unholy feeling even if it means pain. It is like turning your cheek when struck as we are taught and deeply a part of our faith of tolerance our sadness and sickliness - including being large. Faith also why I love America 🇺🇸 and we are unique here, we have a responsibility to change the world, and lucky to be an exception in the world - thus we can spread faith to others to help them to tolerate guilt of sin, guilt of leaning away, and guilt of eating chocolate. This brings Christians together and Jesus accepts you too, so if you feel guilty for chocolate, or guilt ou about anything, think about your faith firstly rather than trying to solve the problem. Under god we accept, we give in to our weakness, we don’t try to change our weaknesses.
@@NoreenHoltzen I’m not sure I understand your perspective here, but I will say that guilt is a result of a Christian’s present sin. While its presence shows that we are in Christ, it does not give us a license to embrace the sin itself. I don’t know if you are implying that it’s alright to each chocolate in a gluttonous way (once again I don’t know if this is implied, let me know if I’m not understanding), but if so, I would disagree and I would argue that the Word of God, above all, would disagree. Romans 6:12-18 speaks on this. We experience sorrow and the weight of our sin, yet we are given grace and have joy. Yet God’s Grace is not to be abused by our willfully returning to sin. Let me know if I’ve misunderstood you, and your thoughts overall. God Bless.
I stumbled here out of depravity. My past sins make my flesh uncomfortable, and growing up Roman Catholic, I'm unlearning fear and guilt daily. This will need to be replayed over and over for my head to get it. Pastor John nailed it on the head.
🤔💭 SUCH a relief hearing him say this, because this is EXACTLY how I've been feeling the last several years & have been WEIGHED DOWN by the _increasing awareness_ of my sin‼️
@@dougrobinson5830 🤔💭 In-laws, OR your own sin⁉️ 💯 If you didn't have sin to be ashamed of, _no amount_ of comments from others could possibly influence you to feel guilty.... If WE weren't guilty of habitually breaking God's Law, we would have _no reason_ to feel guilty. 💯 God's answer to our guilt & shame is for us _to be honest_ about it, confess it, repent of it‼️ PSALM 32:1-2 Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! Yes, what joy for those whose record the LORD has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in COMPLETE HONESTY!
I have struggled so much with this. I accepted Christ at 22 but I was a mess with a pattern of terrible choices. I spent the first 10 years in and out of horrible sin. I hated myself and my sin but I kept falling. Finally after over ten years surrender came and I stopped trying to fix myself. But the consequences of those years still haunt me to this day. It’s been over 10 years since that time but the Shame and regret keep me facedown. Two years ago I buried my 25 year old son. I know in my heart my terrible choices when he was young contributed to my sons death. I pray others can learn from my mistakes and I beg God for His mercy!🙏🏻

I'm in the same boat! I believe my falling away from God and my sins led to my son's drug addiction which ultimately took his life. I'm completely repentant but am seriously wallowing in guilt and shame.
One of the hymns I want sang at my funeral is: "I Stand Amazed In The Pesence Of Jesus The Nazarine, And Wonder How He Could Love Me, A Sinner, Condemned, Unclean. How Marvellous, How Wonderful, And My Song Shall Ever Be; How Marvellous, How Wonderful, Is My Saviour's Love For Me!"
When I am reminded of my great sin, I am reminded of Jesus' loving saving grace "What manner of love is this?? ,that while I was yet a sinner Christ died for me!" God's love compels me to live and honor Him.
It seems like since I gave my life to God, I reflect on my past and feel horrible. Every day i feel guilty over sins I’ve committed. This is a reality check. It hurts to know I will always feel guilty. However, I feel good knowing the reason why I feel guilty is because I am changing
Thank you host, and thank you my dear Pastor McArthur. Pastor McArthur sermons have been so influential in my walk towards redemption. My return to Christ. I was crippled with guilt of my past sins as the Holy Spirit began to open my eyes to the hedonistic and rebellious life I lived for 30 odd years. Things I didn't even realize was sin at the time I was committing them. After the LORD left 99, and returned me to the fold, and rescued me from addiction. My mind began to dwell on memories of sin I had committed. It crippled me. I spent many a thought on how to Biblically overcome this. I told myself that if I confessed my sin, and believed that GOD had forgiven me , then I must fight this crippling guilt that satan uses to steal our joy of redemption. I finally decided. Probably the Holy Spirit told me to recognize when I'm thinking these thoughts, stop them, and then Praise GOD for His grace and my redemption. So most every time I remember past sin now, I stop the thought, and then Praise GOD for the grace He has lavished on me. By absolutely no merit of my own. Praise GOD
Sin becomes exceedingly sinful with a cleansed conscience by the blood of Lamb, and the forgiveness of God . No wonder I am longing for glory with a Perfect soul and body! Thank you Lord saving and restoring worship of the True God, to us, Amen.
Thank you, I’ve been waking up daily feeling awful about past sins that I know God has forgiven me for. I needed this message. Thank you and God bless.
This is answer that I've been seeking. I plead guilty for almost 10 years of my sins and still live with that guilt, hindering myself to accept the love that I want from people. I really have failed to accept the full forgiveness and grace of God. Thank you for enlightening my heart. This made me see the message God has been wanting to tell me. 💖🤗
This is what God is really like: With open arms full of lovingkindness and compassion HE calls the humble sinner to „come home“ right into His presence! Psalm 103 invites us to „BLESS the LORD, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities……“. Thank you both JMac & JA for this helpful interview! ♥️ 💜
I struggle so much with regret, guilt and shame over past mistakes and sins. Right now, I feel particularly weighed down with regret over certain mistakes that I've made especially when I consider the consequences of those mistakes that I am still dealing with to this day. It doesn't help that there are many people around me constantly reminding me of my mistakes and rubbing them in my face.
When Satan tempts me to despair and tells me of the guilt within, upwards I look and see him there who made an end to all my sin! Rebuke those who condemn you as agents of Satan, you are forgiven in Christ.
People often feel guilty about past sins because they're having a hard time forgiving themselves. 1st Jn 4:18 shows us the way: strive to grow in love and sacrifice and all guilt and fear will melt away.
To my dear friends today I have been feeling like I'm not doing enough that I need to be serving the lord more I am involved with prison ministry but it's pen pals and I give the inmates Bible verses etc I feel like I'm not deserving of his glorious love that he has for me! And then I turn on UA-cam and this is the message that I've been dealing with all day! Our Lord is so good and I just want to make him proud of me which has nothing to do with me it has everything to do with is he satisfied with what I'm doing in my life! Can anybody else relate to that? It's almost like I'm homesick and I want to be with all of God's children but mostly with him for all eternity! Thank you Lord for putting that as pastor John's message! You have never let me down and I am so grateful to you! In Jesus name I pray Àmen!
A brother suggested that I ask God to let me experience God's forgiveness. We had not heard that before. So, I asked God to let me experience his forgiveness. About 10 minutes later, I experienced God's wonderful forgiveness. Absolutely wonderful experience. Later, I ask to experience His love. Almost instantly I did. Wonderful
Self Punishment is a Penalty in itself, We all kick ourselves for things we`ve done. We all must deal with Facing ourselves, that`s the Toughest thing we have on Earth. Thank God for his Grace.
Only John Mac could come up with a twist like that. Amazing. Freeing. I'd add that letting go of all that guilt comes down to actively pursuing holiness. Our perceptions and the sense of being free take off and soar when we do.
Oh, thank you! I was thinking I was calling God a liar (about my forgiveness) because I wasn’t agreeing with him when I still feel bad about my sin. I’m so grateful to hear this.
Thank you. This helps me because I was feeling like I’m not saved! I’ve committed sin in the past that I couldn’t make right against a person. That’s also what’s bothersome.
I believe that if you did your part and confessed your sin to God and the one you hurt and asked for forgiveness then there’s not much more you can do. You did your part and all you can do is believe that God’s forgiveness is enough for you to live in peace. God is enough.
How?? How could YOU possibly know how very much, VERY MUCH, I needed to see and hear this???? Been on my mind ‘n heart last couple of days and, then…BOOM….God answers me! Again and again and again 😎 Glory be to God always!! Thank you and May God continue to bless you 💕 Keep ‘em coming, please!!

1:44 2:34 - “If you don’t feel the weight of your sin and you don’t long for holiness, you might not be a Christian.” 3:24 - “You don’t ever wallow in your past sins. If you’re going to feel broken, feel broken about something now. Don’t drag up something in the past - forgetting the things that are behind - that’s already covered. Jesus died for that.” 3:39 - “That’s a failure to accept the full forgiveness in grace that has been given to you in Christ.” 4:01 - “You just need to deal with the brokenness that comes over the current sins. All those in the past are covered by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. He doesn’t remember them. Why should you?” 4:29 - “You live in the joy of forgiveness and the brokenness of present sin. You don’t live in the past sins.”
I agree with him. Nonbelievers don’t worry or feel burdened with their guilt and don’t feel sorrow over it. They’re so in love with the world and themselves that they don’t really see sin for what it is and aren’t worried or burdened by it. This is one work of the Holy Spirit that gets you to see how serious sin is so you can hate it and repent from it.
Amen to this, the present has enough wretchedness associated with our present sin and lack of Christ-likeness. We definitely don't need to dwell on past sins even though easier said than done.
And Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. Matthew 14:28-32

For the past 7 years I've been on a journey I honestly believe that Christ wanted me to show all the people I cheated and stole from that he can really change lives. I can't tell you how much I stole from people or borrowed and never paid back and these sins came to my remembrance and I've been paying back and giving testimony of how Jesus saved me . Praise the Lord he set me free....
Yes! I'm a born again Christian for seven years. But I'm so broken everyday. I know, the Bible says not to dwell in the past. However, the guilt always runs across my mind and ruin my peace. Thanks to pr. John for enlightening the ways to understand and dealt with sins.
Thank you for this video. I praise God for His grace and mercy. Without my Savior Jesus I would be utterly lost. I struggle daily with feelings of guilt and shame. My prayer is that God will use me in some way to glorify His name and His Kingdom. My heart goes out to all that struggle with this. May our Savior Jesus bring us peace. God Bless.
When I felt like not even myself or people I love could forgive my sins. I felt Jesus “would” offer me forgiveness. He expected nothing. It was the biggest relief of soul I’ve felt in my life and set me on a path to try and live in his ways. Every day I pray to open my heart to his ways. Pray for Me
I needed to hear this I did something awful to my mom 10 years ago and I’m saved through Jesus Christ as my lord and savior, but for some reason I’ve always felt guilty about this despite my mom and God forgiving me it’s hard to forgive myself.
Before I came to Christ and even a short time after I committed some terrible sins, one of which bothers me far worse than all the others. I don’t go a day without thinking about it. I’ve experienced severe depression over this. I’ve since gotten to a much better place but the guilt and regret some days is immense. Hearing the message to not revisit your past as difficult as it is helps so much. This is a great video. Please say some prayers that I continue to move forward in God’s grace
Thank you for this. I hate myself if I sin, and desperately try to be a better person. Thank you Lord Jesus for your sacrifice on the cross. I am eternally grateful.
I just recently went through this, and this is the way I dealt with it. I first sought Godly counseling from a man of God, and he reminded me that all my sins are covered by the blood of Jesus. So I decided that when these sins find their way into my thought life, I'll remind myself they they are covered by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Second, I listened to a part of a Voddie Baucham UA-cam video called "The Memory of Sin" where he gives three reasons why we can never forget our sins. I recommended that you listen to it then save it and listen to it again and again, until you learn it. God is good!

Thank you for this, I have asked myself this same question many times. I started thinking perhaps this was the reason for unanswered prayer. I guess I couldn’t forgive myself. I feel so much better now, what a weight lifted from me. Thank you Lord Jesus.😍
Almost 30 years of beating myself up and being eaten up by guilt and wondering if i am truly saved. I could use prayer. I still think of a sin i forgot decafes ago and ask forgiveness, then another forgotten one pops up. Some sins i repent of and feel guilty over repeatedly. No total assurance of salvation. No joy. Maybe this is my answer to all of that. I feel so bad that i feel more than unworthy to be saved. I think why would He want ME of all people. Im horrible and i was totally detestable. Disgusting, horrid. But i hate sin so much and would never do what i did before. But i know it is not on my merits. But this is showing me how i have changed and that all that guilt is showing me im saved or i wouldnt care. Pray for me to know and understand.
When Jesus died on the cross for our sins, he could see everyone throughout all of time he was dying for. Think about that. Right before he died, he was thinking and visualizing YOU. He saw you and knew that all the pain and suffering he was going through was for you, someone he loves more than you could possibly imagine

Being the ''Chief'' of sinners, makes the Apostle Paul one of the best teachers of all. He's been there, he's seen it, and hes done it.
“Joyous brokenness” - I like that.
Wise words here.

@@marvelousministry9434that’s what being IN Christ means… 🤗
All glory to God our Father and His Son Jesus Christ our Lord and Holy Spirit, thank you so much that was so helpful
God Bless.
Amen!
I stumbled here out of depravity. My past sins make my flesh uncomfortable, and growing up Roman Catholic, I'm unlearning fear and guilt daily. This will need to be replayed over and over for my head to get it. Pastor John nailed it on the head.
I have never heard a more concise definition of true worship...
🤔💭 SUCH a relief hearing him say this, because this is EXACTLY how I've been feeling the last several years & have been WEIGHED DOWN by the _increasing awareness_ of my sin‼️
In laws make me feel that way.
@@dougrobinson5830 🤔💭 In-laws, OR your own sin⁉️
💯 If you didn't have sin to be ashamed of, _no amount_ of comments from others could possibly influence you to feel guilty.... If WE weren't guilty of habitually breaking God's Law, we would have _no reason_ to feel guilty.
💯 God's answer to our guilt & shame is for us _to be honest_ about it, confess it, repent of it‼️

You truly are His ! Abba Bless You

I too bear this weight. 😢 11/17/84-11/25/22 RIP Brandon
I'm in the same boat! I believe my falling away from God and my sins led to my son's drug addiction which ultimately took his life. I'm completely repentant but am seriously wallowing in guilt and shame.
My guilt faded away when I told the truth and confessed my wrongdoings to whom I wronged. It was not easy, but I did bear my cross.
The relief I felt listening to this was astronomical 🥺
One of the hymns I want sang at my funeral is: "I Stand Amazed In The Pesence Of Jesus The Nazarine, And Wonder How He Could Love Me, A Sinner, Condemned, Unclean. How Marvellous, How Wonderful, And My Song Shall Ever Be; How Marvellous, How Wonderful, Is My Saviour's Love For Me!"
Thank you
@@GwenBec You're welcome Gwen. God bless you.
He's right things I wouldnt even blink about before I surrendered to Him now are glaringly apparent to me.
How are you now
There is a saying “if the enemy reminds you of past reminds him about his future”
God bless John Macarthur.
Amen !!!
Sometimes my past sins come to my thoughts and I feel horrible.
You, like me, are not perfect. I can assure you that you are not alone in your path.
This is an ABSOLUTE truth.. God bless you, .John MacArthur.
Forgive yourself. God is compassionate and forgives our sins. God is full of compassion.
So be compassionate to yourself and forgive yourself
Wonderful

Only John Mac could come up with a twist like that. Amazing. Freeing. I'd add that letting go of all that guilt comes down to actively pursuing holiness. Our perceptions and the sense of being free take off and soar when we do.
Oh, thank you! I was thinking I was calling God a liar (about my forgiveness) because I wasn’t agreeing with him when I still feel bad about my sin. I’m so grateful to hear this.
"God doesn't remember my sins so why should I"❤I needed this
Oh my ! So extremely true ! I still feel guilty for past sins ! I always wondered why !
Thank you. This helps me because I was feeling like I’m not saved! I’ve committed sin in the past that I couldn’t make right against a person. That’s also what’s bothersome.
Same! How do we ever get past this?? 🥺

For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.
I John 3:20-21
Thank you for the answer to this question. God bless you.
This is very true that when we are converted we feel more how bad sin is
Woah woah woah! Thinking of 1 Thessalonians 4-5 the entire time! Gods will for every believer: prayer & sanctification! Then hold on to joy in every circumstance.
1:44
2:34 - “If you don’t feel the weight of your sin and you don’t long for holiness, you might not be a Christian.”
3:24 - “You don’t ever wallow in your past sins. If you’re going to feel broken, feel broken about something now. Don’t drag up something in the past - forgetting the things that are behind - that’s already covered. Jesus died for that.”
3:39 - “That’s a failure to accept the full forgiveness in grace that has been given to you in Christ.”
4:01 - “You just need to deal with the brokenness that comes over the current sins. All those in the past are covered by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. He doesn’t remember them. Why should you?”
4:29 - “You live in the joy of forgiveness and the brokenness of present sin.
As we should thats called conviction
Thank you for explaining this.
And Thank you Jesus for Dying on the cross and taking what was meant for me.
Thank you for loving me and giving me hope to share with the world.
In the name. Death and resurrection of my great Savior.

I feel like that sometimes..but Christ's grace is beyond our feelings...

Pray for

The past is washed away, and the present and future , sins are covered by the blood of Jesus, amen
Thank u brethren! Im 17 years old and it was trully helpfull. Cheers from Brazil 💛💚
We need more like JM to reach those who dont believe they deserve forgiveness. Took me years to understand that. All glory to God the father.
:( :( you know he thinks you can take the mark of the beast and still go to heaven right? It saddens me that so many people are still watching him :(

I so much appreciate paster John you have opened my eyes, now I know l'm saved, and l'm so so happy
Wow , I never feel guilty for my past life before I met Jesus. I am blood washed forgiven and redeemed.. I trust God
