Remember this entire setup is 799 at micro center. The TK bundle literally the la prima pedals and wheel base. The wheel itself is a Forte wheel. The colors are not exactly the prettiest buuuut over all it is the best bang for your buck design in sim racing right now!
As someone old enough to be your Grandad, I find your video's most entertaining and enjoy them all. And I guess people of your generation would say that they were "sick"!
@jeepld positives are that the feedback is amazing. The steering wheel can hurt your hand when you do not hold it right trough a corner because it has hard plastic just where the rubber meets. And the handles are I think a little to thin for me. So I might try the XL or I might wrapp it with some tape. 12 nm is to much for my next level racing wheelstand. It wobles a bit to much. With riding it gets to my mind. Not that I really feel it.
HOT, hot, hot review! Simracers really need opinions on Prima/Forte, DD+ and R21 now! P.S. Prima - the first, Forte - the loud, Invicta -the invisible.
You missed a very important point, imo. You can mount pretty much any USB steering wheel to it without having a wire going from the wheel to your PC, as they offer a quick release adapter that has a usb port.
I've got the TK version, which is basically the same as the La Prima. So far its amazing. Only wish i could get my hands on a round wheel sometime soon - hard to catch a slide with the formula style rim. Had to abandon Moza after my R9 would loose all input/ffb during offical races! Crashed out by no fault of my own because of the R9 and nearly a month later sounds like my wheelbase will finally be sent back here soon. The support process with Moza has been terrible and will be putting it and my CS rim up for sale once it gets here. Comparing the 2 wheel bases, the Asetek is so much finer in detail. The extra NM is nice aswell
i got a pxn v12cw wheels from microcenter for 150, put a asetek qr on it and good to go. pxn v12 wheel is the best value usb wheel that no one knows. even a generic button plate and 70mm 6bolt rim is at least 190$. PXN v12 is pretty heavy duty and well built, only thing is that its not real leather, but, once that wears out, ill just replace the rim with momo or omp rims, no problem. if you dont like it, you can always just return it back to microcenter. I got a 4inch usb c to usb a cable to connect the wheel and the asetek qr. I dont even notice it.
Hey there, I seriously appreciate the review and video. After watching though, I still feel like I'd rather pull the trigger on a MOZA R12 and get the likes of the GS V2P GT wheel because although the 12Nm is consistent with both wheelbases, the look of the steering wheel for me at least, just isn't the one. Upgrading from a G29 to enter the mid-range sim-racing lifestyle would the Moza R12 still be more than enough?
Mate, the Moza R12 will be a night and day difference over what you currently have. I also agree with what you’re saying, Asetek pretty much shot themselves in the foot with their current wheel rim offerings. So in essence, yes, go with the R12, it’ll be a very noticeable upgrade. They've just released 2 button boxes and 6 new wheel rims shapes to cater for all needs . Please do your research man because you will scare people away from this amazing brand saying that they don't have many wheel options .. Good review apart from that major point . Thanks
Just wheel bases alone? Imo I would say: $200-300 $900-$1,300 $2,000-$3,000 plus In between those prices I would place wheel bases that might come from higher end companies but are on the lower or mid range within their ecosystem. Example: I have chosen Simagic alpha ultimate(only $1,000) that has 23nm which puts it up there in high end torque but if I could have stretched my budget I would have gone with simucube.
The current process proposed by Asetek is that the customer will have to remove and mail the pcb back to Asetek since it contains specific settings for the exact motor in your wheelbase and then Asetek will mail back a new PCB and power supply@@OCRacing
I guess I will be welcoming family to the sim rig. Seeing that this is the cousin. 😂 Although, in Italian, La Prima means "The First". So, the first cousin?
They offer a quick release with an USB Port, so you can use third party USB wheels as if they were from asetek. I'm currently considering the simline GT3-R wheel with dual clutches for 600€ with the asetek quick release pre-fitted
He can't hear you ! He is deaf from the stupidly loud and annoying music and sound effects. Have pointed this out before to no avail. Would subscribe otherwise as content is good but sound production is moronic !
I have the NLR WS 2.0 and I’d recommend it if space is tight and you’re using it at a desk. I bought one as I needed a solid base for load cell pedals and just use it with my office chair. The little tray the chair wheels fit in works really well, to stop the seat moving when you push hard on the brake. As well as the wheel and pedals I also have a shifter and hand brake attached to mine. It’s fairly compact when folded up and pushed against a wall.
Asetek literally smashing it out if the park with their wheel bases and wheels atm . 6 new different shapes wheels eoth Alcantara options and 2 button boxes LL prima and forte . The customer service is second to none believe me I've experienced faanytec's and it's laughable service!
Being given all three powercables is literally the worst feature that is not even worth taking up as much time as it did to talk about in the video, let alone be mentioned as key feature lmao. Nice vid thou, although the stuff people are interested in would be a more thorough review and opinion of how the force feedback is translated to the user. Everything you've said in the video besides the power cables can be exactly said for every direct drive because what you said is so vague its not worth mentioning. Not sure if this is because you are just trying to stay on the manufacturers good will or just not educated enough in the intricacies of sim racing but watching some channel's detailed review on the Moza R3 compared to your review on this, I wouldn't be surprised if the lehman went away thinking they're both equal products. All the best!

I appreciate it! I spend more and more time on it every time lol
@OCRacing yep. Iv said it before but the quality of your vids are next level.
The names are italian not spanish. La prima means the first, "forte" means strong as it is the stronger wheelbase
Yeah I figured, still thought it was funny though lol

I did slightly mention that but you’re right, putting a bit more emphasis on that could have been better as it is quite a big upside
there is no port for an extra emergency stop button on la prima bases, is only on other two

You need to put the base in update mode, to update the firmware on the pedals etc.

La Prima wheelbase can be upgraded to Forte (12nm -> 18nm) via a future process Asetek is working on.
Didn’t know that, interesting! I’d assume you’d need to upgrade the power supply?
@@OCRacing Yes and from what I've read you'll need to exchange the PCB, so it won't be an easy upgrade

Hi OC Racing
The only thing i don't like is the looks of the wheels, will most likely go for simagic instead

What would you recommend for someone tight on space between a race stand or the gt lite pro?
I would probably go with the GtLite pro just because I like having the feel of a dedicated cockpit, wheel stands have never grabbed any attention
except I put nlr dd stand 2.0 on my Christmad list...
