We are part of the Jackson water crisis. It affects mostly low income families both black and white. We are continuously under boil water notices. Our family tries to survive mostly off of bottled water. Here recently both our family and our neighbor, who all drink bottled water, became very ill. The only thing we could blame was the water as that is all we had in common. Both house holds have dealt with over a month long stomach Illness that is debilitating. Doctors haven’t taken either household seriously. I believe they don’t realize just how bad the water is here. I truly feel like we live in a third world country. The issues with infrastructure began BEFORE Blacks began running the city. They inherited problems created by crooked white politicians. White politicians turn down federal money that is allocated to the state. What money is allowed to come to the state is not used for its intended purposes. It is distributed among crooked politicians. Some Black politicians do bear some of the brunt of the issues concerning Jackson, but they are not the only reason the city is in the condition it's in.
Mate, white people voted for it, black people were largely prevented from voting by practices that undermine a right to vote based on things with little evidence supporting them - voter ID laws protect against someone impersonating another voter, which is a felony that can land you with 5 years in prison - yet these states refuse to provide free voter ID to those asking for it or put on onerous requirements for vast amounts of documents all because Black and Latinos are less likely to have Driving licences or passports, and they don't recognise PO Boxes so Native Americans aren't given much of a chance either. And note Flint - the state was lead by a mostly white, republican government which didn't care about the poor black people because they didn't elect them. Furthermore, it's not as though tax dollars can't be moved to where it is needed, but nobody has adequately funded it. This is only a snapshot of many problems but it is not purely because someone ticked the box with an (R ) next to it out of a two party system.

Mississippi has the MISSISSIPPI RIVER, the largest and widest river in the USA with fresh water. There is plenty of water in Mississippi and they can share water with all of the other states in the USA. All they have to do is clean the water.
