I'm from Jackson, that governor is such a lier. The MS legislature completely abandoned Jackson. For many many years we haven't drank the water. They weren't even allocating funds to Jackson from the federal infilstructure bill to repair roads and bridges. Only in recent years, after taking care predominately white areas of MS did they finally repair the roads in Jackson. I left Jackson when I was 21, the roads were done in my early 20s, I'm 59 now. The roads would literally tear up your car.

Why is Jackson's water issue a state issue? Where I live the town handles water and sewer. Why don't the elected officials in Jackson do their jobs? I am sure citizens in Jackson pay city taxes, pay water bills. What does that money get spent on ?

Most every other municipal water department is able to complete water supply upgrades without state and federal government help. The county either raises property taxes, the utilities or water district raises rates or they issue Muni bonds to raise the money. Why hasn't Jackson done these things?

When the oppressor tries to oppress you, think like Harry Belafonte, oit think them...well water.
They want to steal the land by forcing residents to abandon their homes.
MS is well below the water table. Dig down 6' & there is water.
My dad dug a welll in our backyard & had a pump installed to water our lawn & garden.
My uncle lived 3 miles away & his entire household was well water.
My cousins never complained abt the iron rich water, 5 kiddos in their 60s now.
I lived on a 5 acre citrus Grove & I used well water & a bladder to serve my home because we were too rural to take advantage of the distant water plant.
Bottle water has BPA which is linked to colon cancer.
Every Jackson MS resident shd have a well.

Simple fix, think like Harry Belefonte.
He was denied residential access so he out witted them & bought the entire building.
Residents can contract a well driller for a multi install discount rate.
Blacks have only started using municipal water in the south during the 70s.
Bef that our homes had well water.
    It costs between $1500-$5500.
Everyone over 60 grew up with well water. It provided for the home & lg hm gardens.
We just sold 5 acres & for 25 yrs we had well water & a bladder.
We tested our water annually & the water co said it was cleaner than the municipal water...
Out think them because they want to force the residents to abandon their property.
Why do you think bill gates is buy millions of acres of US land?
I had well water & a vlader tank for 25 yrs til we moved & downsized.

To please just once in your life just move to Mississippi so that we can turn it Blue. Because the problem is as a Black Yankee that is a nice a but tough cautious militant person to please forget the rest of the now and just take Missississippi. Southern Blacks don't have it in them too much to want to change things too much because a lot of them especially the males which I don't call men have this massa mentality too much. I thank God that I was not born and raised in the south as a Black Man. The only main quality I see among Southern Blacks are at least the Women. I mean Thank God for them at least being the fact they were raised to be feminine I can only imagine a lot may be turned on us by a lot of us Tough Northern Black Men and how a lot of them are so embarrased with how so docile or Massa Boss minded weak alot of their men down are.. They could put in a tank beside school and fill up weekly. Hook that tank to the school and have a valve that will cut them off from rest of city. The pressure of water tank would operate school. Find funds to put a tank right beside school for school. Once water system is straightened out they can use that tank for the rest of city. Sometimes have to think out of box.People have got spoiled. I remember my great Aunt had outhouse . Things has changed fast. Our goverment gives away money to other countries for war no problem. Once that stops things will change. One day we will stop being world police. Go back to America 1st . We had a President that was going in that direction but media help get him out with stories that was blatant lies. It's not entirely about what is at the water plant. It's about water pipes, water pressure, and decaying infrastructure. Money talks, and those with money and power get their way first. Those better neighborhoods are often better BECAUSE they started with more money and political power. They will get earlier, better, more permanent fixes because of that. Those neighborhoods may have more white citizens, whereas those with the worst water availability are in poorer sections of town, and may have a larger black population. So that's why there's reference to race. It's not necessarily a problem of corruption, but it is one of economic disparity which often impacts our black neighbors more.
