Our politicians are making sure those in foreign lands are taken care of. Every time we give another 100 Billion, the politicians say, we HAVE to be the leader. But you help others after you help your own people/country first. Other countries don’t give what they don’t have, like us. We don’t know when to say, enough is enough, Ukraine!! The Bible says take care of your own first! You use the same model to run a country, as you would a household, otherwise you’re worse than an infidel, if you put others first!
I’m a Mississippi girl born and raised. I grew up in Jackson. And, it’s been getting worse year after year but of course people know why. It’s obvious. No person in their right mind regardless of race wants to live next to people who take no pride in themselves or their property. The working class moved away, taking their tax dollars with them. When you’re content living on government subsidies this is what you end up with……blight, crime, and failed infrastructure. Now those left behind blame those that moved away for the downfall. The people of Jackson have no way out of the hole that they themselves have dug. They could request federal help but there are so many corrupt politicians the money would never make it to the streets.
At this point, what would Federal help do that would make a difference on a community that tears things apart , including families ? What is the real source of the problem that keeps these Jackson citizens from caring about their own homes ?
A few years ago I had the occasion to stay in Jackson and while I was checking into my motel in the rain at night I accidently dropped $150 out of my pocket. A short time later I as going through the lobby and was called to the desk where there was standing two large gentlemen that said "that's her". They had seen me lose the money and turned it into the desk. It was my memory of Jackson.
I finished high school in Moss Point, Mississippi many years ago...My brother went to Jackson State in Jackson...I love Mississippi, the people are so wonderful and kind...
I’m sorry but that’s just not true. And let me be clear. I am the LAST person to miss an opportunity at blaming our elected leaders (both sides are giant catastrophic traitorous disgraces) but it’s a certain type of person that made Jackson what it is today. Giving money to someone who has no discipline and doesn’t know the value of hard work is not going to solve their problems.
I grew up in South Jackson. It was beautiful and vibrant. We were heartbroken when we were run out of our homes because of the crime. We had to move out to survive. It breaks my heart to see this because this was my home growing up in the 70 and 80’s. The city is corrupt. They pocket the money that is suppose to be used for the city.
man that sucks, are you hopeful for it improve, is there something the masses of good people can do or is it all in the leadership of the cities' hands?
@@m3vm3 the "good people" in Jackson are unanimously outnumbered by the bad, it is a fact of life, the people in charge are all corrupt. It's rotten from top to bottom, the only way to save Jackson is to fire the mayor & entire city council & do a complete overhaul, which will never happen. Even then, given it's history, the people they replace them with would probably be just as bad or even worse
Yes, and I remember when the change happened. I don’t know if you remember back in the day when you could watch public access tv, councilman Louis Armstrong (who went to prison for a year for bribery) and Kenneth Stokes would be in the meetings railroading all the progress of developments unless it was a minority owned business that got the bid. That led to them picking the bids and causing their handpicked companies to win the bids. Jackson was booming at that time and then overnight, the bottom fell out. People started seeing the infrastructure crumbling and moved out to the suburbs causing the housing prices to plummet. My dad was lucky to have equity in his house when he sold it in 1993. One year later he would’ve lost money on the sale. About that time crime started increasing as well as the gangs and the gangsta rap culture started to make its way in. It wasn’t long before Jackson would become annually the per capita murder capital of America
It worked in Canada. The Hells Angels and biker gangs did more to clean up a city then the cops there did. Petty thefts were almost non visitant after that. As soon as things got better? The cops decided it was safe to "Arrest" the people who cleaned up the Streets of the Canadian city. Now there worse then ever. Always reminds me of the phrase "We are the government, and we are here to halp!
The Supreme Court could fix this. Getting rid of the Voting Rights Act allowed one party to Gerrymander legislative districts, to use all the money on their districts without voters revolt.
The federal government sends a lot of money to Jackson. As you can see, it isn't well spent. George Soros lines the pockets of the mayor and other representatives.
Nick, you're not familiar with the South. That tree wasn't planted in the pothole. It GREW there naturally. As you can see, the town is being reclaimed by the swamp in which it was built. I was impressed that the only decent building on the downtown street was a FUNERAL HOME! My God!
Given the amount of murders the funeral home owners are probably insanely wealthy. Regardless, Jackson looks like a very cool, if derelict, swampy town. Honestly looks like a great set for a horror movie.
Depends on how you are judging. If you are a truck driver just looking at buildings, roads, etc, then Portland is clearly nicer. If you are talking about living there as a random person, that's a different story (maybe).
We send tens of billions to other countries every year, hundreds of billions on war machines, but neglect our own cities and infrastructure. Thank you for showing the world the USA. You're both brave and honest to do all this, it's the mirror that we need to see.
The "red" states in this country get 40% more federal money than "blue" states per capita. Gee I wonder why? "Blue" states account for 71% of gdp. "Red" states are just poorly run, no other explanation.
In the spirit of your statement, agreed. However, the primary responsibility for Jackson, Mississippi lies with the state of Mississippi. You're referring to the federal budget. The people have a say about the federal government. It lies with voting for the right people for your representative and senator. I hate to say it, but these people get exactly what they vote for. Bottom line. And if they don't vote? That is essentially saying the same thing. Inaction in itself is action.
To keep America safe will indeed cost money. That's why we don't get attacked often. Ukraine is part of that plan (which is to weaken 1 of our main adversaries, Russia)
@@christianlendo7787 Ukraine is part of what plan? Invaded by Russia in 2014, before that Rusia took 1/3 of Georgia, whole Chechenya, Dagestan, North Osetia. Every politician should have all their assets seized and sold for public gain all thrown I'm prison or stretched out on rope uti this happens and no consequences for the ppl that will destroy your life if you do what they do
Hi, Nick. Im a Mississippi resident who grew up in Jackson and recently moved to another, better city. You did a great job covering the many issues in Jackson. I see many comments about the fact that most people seem to have decent vehicles. The reason that we all have to have cars is because public transportation is basically non-existent. The buses do not go out of Jackson so if you work in surrounding areas ( which most people do because as you pointed out, many businesses have closed) you can't rely on the city bus. Also, they only run until early evening and are notoriously slow, you have to make many transfers to get from one end of town to the other. I wish people who've never experienced living in a situation like this would not be so quick to judge. Most people in Jackson are just trying to live their lives. The crime and criminals are a huge problem. The criminals are actually a fairly concentrated group that need to be dealt with. Mississippi does not pay law enforcement or any city/ state salaries enough to live on. Just go to the city and state websites and search available jobs and compare the pay to that of other cities and states. I drove trucks otr for a few years, and I was able to experience other cities/states and while they all have their issues Jackson is really in it's own lane. I have two undergrad degrees and started driving trucks just to make a decent living. I worked in social services and education for years. I was a hone visitor for a well known child sponsor program. Mississippi and West Virginia were the only two states in the US to qualify for the program because they were the only states on the same socioeconomic level as the third world countries that they operated in.😢💔
Hopelessness and despair all over our country. No more "middle" class. .You are a have or a have-not. And prices just keep going up. I feel sad for our children.
@@1968dogg Exactly Lynn. It cant get better. It is the exact story in everyone of these places including the numerous excuses as to why its somebody elses fault
This is what happens when you lose your tax base. It takes tax revenue and economic development to maintain infrastructure. Jackson has been depopulating for the past 40 years. It has been abandoned by its middle class.
Jackson was hopping in the mid 80’s. Metro center mall and everything in its vincinity including Hoopers stereo. The I 55 stretch was doing well, remember Bennigins restaurant. The North Park mall was new, but at the time was still nothing compared to Metrocenter. I hate what has happened to Jackson. And they say Mobile is the second most dangerous city, really? Shreveport is far worse and compared to Jackson, Shreveport is pretty safe. I would say New Orleans is probably safer than Jackson and that is crazy.
Who was the ones holding that wealth? Look at NY, is that kind of wealth? If it is, it is not good. Just a few people are the ones with the money, the others are just surviving. Let's not talk about Florida.
I was simply stating a fact. Mississippi was wealthy because of cotton. Slave labor made the wealth possible. A percentage of the wealthy planters acquired their land from the Government for fighting in the Revolution.
I've seen run-down neighborhoods before, but I've never felt this way. This was actually upsetting; that people were living in some of these homes; in these conditions.
@@Jeff-sp7bg I have been to many rundown neighborhoods. I just have the belief that nobody should be living in dilapidated buildings like this or squalor. Nobody deserves this. Not even the people I dislike or don't get along with should never have to live like this. It's very heartbreaking to see this taking place in the richest country in the world.
The Govmt. don't care!! and this is ALL races not just Black!! America should be ashamed of themselves and having the nerve to give our dollars to the so-called immigrants that are technically illegal.
Just a couple more years till the black on black kill themselves off, then all those Hispanic immigrants are going to inherit the place and rebuild it. You know them Hispanics are the only race standing outside Home Depot ready get picked and hired to work with building skills or ready to learn a trade.

I’ve been watching Nick’s UA-cam channel for a few years now and I feel it is safe to say he is better journalist than most any Fox CNN etc. Very hands on.
It's time the people of the US realize that Fox News, CNN etc. are controlled by the Deep State. Properties are so far apart from each other there's no community spirit. It's as if people in those areas are sitting back and waiting for politicians to do everything for them. Why don't the residents get themselves organised and deal with the situation.
Fox News wasn't set up as journalism, it's effectively state TV. Founded by Rupert Murdoch, who doesn't like journalism and doesn't believe in objectivity.
I moved to Mississippi from Arizona last year and it is so sad and impoverished here! My family is actively trying to help people make changes in our community
Omg, my daughter is considering attending Jackson State. And we’re from Phx, AZ. I’ve never been there, I’m glad I came across this video. This is outrageous.
I went to Jackson state... best time. I loved Jackaon. It's much different being there as a local vs going to JSU. She will not have to be in those areas. She'll go past then of course but I loved it!

@Rovingdog628 he also says man's law is God's law, amd our laws say this givernment is corrupt and its out DUTY to overthrow it and resustain the correct flow of justice and dispersion of taxes fairly, not squanderously.
At the same time there are way to many people looking to the government instead of helping themselves. Even the poorest USA people have way more than poor people in other countries have. People in the USA tend to be entitled whereas poor people in other countries tend to be more resourceful and not as quick to play victim as they don’t have that option. Family has declined in the USA with over seventy percent of black families headed by single mothers and the rates of single motherhood raising among whites and other groups.
I have lived in a third world country. Anyone in Jacksonville could walk to a better situation. In a third world country you can't get away as easy as a few days walking.
@@johnowens5342 Nobody is going to Put them up for free. Moving may be more difficult than what you think it is. In the 1960s many blacks moved to northern cities and ended up in worse situations than the ones they left in the south. It is in more recent years that southern cities and rural areas have been experiencing the crime problems in northern areas in large part because of people moving back down south bringing teenagers that are already part of the hood, and bringing their bad habits to the south.
Here in South Africa we have a lot of this type of neglect, corruption, crime and deterioration. The sad and scary part is Jackson (a city in a first world country, not a third world like mine) is really not far behind us. Truth be told, politicians are a major destructive force behind this. The sooner we stop seeing them as our “saviors” and rather start working together in our various communities the sooner life will improve. It just takes courage and determination to get going.
Stop with this first world and third world country bullshit. They use that for propaganda. That's the whole reason why they have such a stranglehold on the races, etc. Powers that be want to use this classification to divide.
@@namdelovoi SA absolutely is a "third world" country if you think the term should be used, which it shouldn't be really. The majority of South Africans live in poverty and many in shanty towns, the South Africa presented to tourists is beautiful but it's a small part of the country. Just a drive from the Johannesburg airport to the center of the city shows you how the majority of its people live.
I visited in 1968 as a 14 year old Chicago boy. It was March and the temps were in the 70s "beautiful sunshine and green wooded areas" separating quaint little towns that each had it's own personality. Lots of small motels with little swimming pools and plenty of restaurants all with their own distinct menu and ambiance. I really liked it. That was back when there was industry in those small (and large) towns/cities.
Born in Jackson Mississippi in the 1960. I had the best education in America. Seeing this podcast in retirement from a north Atlantic island archipelago is really sad.
The problem is the people that have been elected to be in control are incompetent at their jobs and if you’re guest says I don’t know again I will throw up.
It's too late to and way too expensive to restore these cities anyway. To create you must first destroy, and by destroy you must remove all the blight, not to mention the residents don't even take care of their direct surroundings- or themselves.
That isn't a safe bet. Many of the places the put the most money into end up getting worse and worse. There is a cultural rot that has to be cured or whatever money you put on top of it will just begin to rot. So far no one has figured out what to do to fix it, or even just improve it. They talk about getting the guns off the street but who in their right mind would give up their gun in a place like that? People can't even fix up their yards or houses, even if they had the money, as it would just make their house a target. The only thing you can do in a situation like that is to do whatever you can to get yourself out of there.
Glad you guys were able to make it out. Many other families are still imprisoned there, lets pray one day they can buy their freedom and make it out before it’s too late.
If you visit Jackson, get your hotel in Brandon or Flowood, totally different. Side note, Madison dictates how your building can look, they all are pretty much same design.
I work in Mississippi. I had to go to Jackson every year for conferences and I hated it! We recently changed the venue to flowood and I prefer it soooo much!
I have my manufacturing done in China because it’s the only way I can afford to have my products made. Also, the idea that you could move that business - which requires hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment, plus people skilled enough to operate it and keep it running - to a place like this makes me LOL and SMH
BS, it’s a cultural issue from top to bottom in these areas of the country. You think everyone would magically get up for work and earn money when it’s all free now for generations? Theft is legalized? No manufacturing company would ever dare to do business in these self made hell pockets. Sorry man just saying the truth.
You guys pretty soon will be no longer the only ones. Gavin Newsom is on the corner. Cackling Kamala. Isn´t awesome? If sleepy Joe isn´t fit for a 2nd time, I mean.
I hope this isn't the GOOD STUFF that we're seeing, that in a few years we'll look back fondly on this and think how great it was to HAVE electricity and cars!
Jacksons problems started when the Federal government prohibited disposal of asbestos containing demolition debris in regular landfills. Properly disposing of a dilapidated structure went from $300 to $30k. Every city like this would benefit from an asbestos certified landfill.
I can’t believe you brain dead conservatives still use these talking points lol. This is a result of systemic inequality/equity. Maybe you should redirect your anger for neo-liberal organizations towards the hundreds of billions of dollars we spend on our military.
What’s happened he asks? Nobody cares about anything anymore except getting paid and doing as little as possible to get it ! To see Jackson like this and many others places in America is beyond sad !! 😮
I lived there for 18months, actually near the reservoir. I tried to buy some abandoned delapadated buildings to redevelop into urban condos. I even got a federal grant. Jackson City Council said no because I refused to pay full retail as if the properties were in A+ condition. So much for a new tax base. Friendliness and competence was rare. Many streets in Jackson proper were littered and in terrible repair. Where does all that federal funding go I wonder?
Thank you for sharing Tyra's insights into the problems of her hometown. Environmental injustice takes such a toll; I appreciated her mention of conflicts over water in a household. That's the way these things affect real people- it makes a difference. How difficult daily life is affects the psyche.

I grew up in Jackson in the 50's and 60's. I went to Murrah High School, and UMC for medical school. My wife and I lived in a very small home while I went to med school. It was a pretty decent town back then. Still reasonably safe (with some exceptions). We returned there in 2008 for a couple of days, to attend my 40th high school reunion. While there, we decided to swing by the house we lived in, just to riminisce a bit. On the way there, we were stopped by police, who told us that we could not go there, because it was too dangerous. After telling them why we wanted to go there, they kindly escorted to and from that house, out of their abundant concern for our safety. Afterward, we stopped by a McDonalds, well within sight of the med center, only to buy a couple of soft drinks. We were there for no more than 10 minutes, and were accosted and verbally threatened twice!!! Jackson is a scary place. Not a place to live, not even a place to visit.
Seems to me that the people that live there have literal skill issues, instead of learning how to be a plumber, electrician etc. they wait for someone they elect to fix the problem. You can't vote yourself out of this, you have to learn skills and fix it.
The people who lived there did vote. With their feet. Most of the surrounding cities around Jackson are doing fine and look nice. Full of the people who used to live in Jackson, but left due to the crime, mostly.
Those type of skills you mentioned have always been European and Hispanic whites and no other race. That's why only the predominantly white countries have been 1st world. It's the tradesmen, such as plumbers, electricians, masons, carpenters, auto repairmen, construction workers, that enable a country to be 1st world. They make your prices far cheaper because they repair so you don't have to fully replace and that raises your standard of living. When the whites leave, the standard of living collapses such as in Surinam and Zimbabwe.
Was born (1951) and raised in Jackson, moved away in ‘81…my parents lived there until 2013. Both gone now, and I will never go back. Too heartbreaking. 💔
It is ironic that the ‘authoritarian’ countries the ‘democratic’ US loves to hate, like China and Russia, don’t have slums, and that their leaders put the well- being of their people first……it will only get worse until the American people decide to change the blatantly corrupt election process
Easy fix. Hire the people in the well kept houses to run the city. Arrest the criminals and try to rehabilitate/educate them. If unsuccessful then long term incarnation. Institute "homestead" law for abandoned properties. Institute voting laws that exclude anyone who does not pay income tax.
Used to work in Jackson, and my daughter still lives there (far north). Most people just put the South side out of their mind and stay away. The City Council and mayor are all lunatics.
I had to go to South Jackson a few years ago to get some pictures for a client. I was horrified! The streets were so broken up that there was no left side/right side. People were just weaving around trying to miss the sink holes (not potholes.) There were no businesses and less than desirable looking people were walking around. Many of those were young people who should have been in school. When I got back to the office and my manager found out where I had been, he flipped out. I won’t ever go back.

I am originally from North East Mississippi. I have seen so many water boiling warnings over the years in Jackson. Thank goodness the whole state is not that horrible. The capital in jackson and the delta are the poorest parts of Mississippi. Many wealthy communities on the outskirts of Jackson. Elections have consequences, use your votes wisely. Citizens need to stand up and stay on the government in charge of this mess.

As part of my job, out of college, I lived all over the US, but I returned to Mississippi in my forties. I now live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and you couldn't dynamite me out of here. Mayberry on the water.
Wow...even I wouldn't have guessed such overwhelming dilapidation and neglect. Something's obviously wrong with the cities finances, and the people who should be making decisions about community spending, and infrastructure. It's unacceptable to see this.
What about the states actual government? Some of you have no idea what you're talking about. There has been an economic war on Jackson for years. It's the state's capital, it where the governor lives. It's where all of Mississippi's budgets and policies are made but, sure blame the little guys. NFL QB Brett Farve & the former governor just got caught stealing MILLIONS of dollars. Could that speak an issue with the people that actually run Mississippi?
I left Mississippi in 2007 and took my daughter with me to Houston Texas in 2008. I can tell you from being a born-and-raised Mississippian (even though I'm not from the Jackson area, I'm from the Delta area) the state of Mississippi is at his peak of not being a cooperative State due to the fact of taxpayers money being mishandled and abused by those that are running in office that includes Mayors in each city'/small towns to not funding the police, schools, hositals, basically the essentials of helping out the people in the state who want to make it their home. I dont even feel comfortable going to Jackson due to the fact that they just don't care anymore smh.

Couple of years ago I went to Jackson with a friend and was in their courthouse. A court employee told me they'd been boiling their water for drinking for A YEAR.
My best friend lived in New Orleans about 20 years ago and at the time they were telling people to boil AND filter the tap water but Bottled water was the best option if they could afford it. Apparently lead and other heavy metals as well as a whole host of bacteria had been found in the water supply. This was just before Katrina so I doubt anything has improved.

Just for background, the current mayor of Jackson, Chokwe Antar Lumumba was elected in 2017 with 93% of the vote. He was easily re-elected in 2021. He describes himself as a progressive and socialist. Before him, his father, Chockwe Lumumba, was mayor of Jackson. He described himself as a Black Nationalist and an activist. One of the senior Lumumba achievements was establishing Hinds County (where Jackson is located) as the capital of the Republic of New Afrika. Both men ran on the promise to fix potholes and sewers. Jackson residents last elected a Republican mayor in 1945. Thankfully, the neighboring county where I have lived for 50+ years is very different.

The State is run by REPUBLICANS , just like Arkansas, Alabama, etcetc. Republicans always make excuses while they steal the treasury blind. I wonder how Brett Favre is doing? Has the State fixed the water system yet??
As long as Mississippi has been republican, conservative whatever, I find it difficult to believe that all of this misery occurred during a brief time of "liberal" leadership. This misery is a result of longterm and systemic neglect.
When it gets this Bad it Never because of just one issue. There are several. There is plenty of Blame to go around. It's the States fault. It's the Citys fault. It's the people who live theres Fault. Now that you know who did it all 3 need to agree to fix it. They must move forward together or it wont get better.
As a british man this is truly tragic. I might be mistaken but didnt Trump wanna concentrate on fixing America rather than the rest of the world? How much US money goes to other nations rather than youre own? I hope america can turn itself around because if it cant/wont you guys are in serious trouble! That will be as bad for the rest of us too. 🙏
Donald trump's only project was his "big, beautiful wall". It was a fraud project and it's unstable and poorly built. At least one of the project's contractors earned himself a felony due to his complicity with DT.
There's a big difference on what Trump says he wants to do and what he actually does do. Fixing poor areas was never really on his agenda. He was too busy giving tax breaks to the wealthy and golfing.
I’m from Alabama. Went to Jackson in 1994 to help with their water treatment system. Walked into their water plant, looked around, and drove away never to return. My letter to the mayor and city manager was harsh. It was a pig pen. Horrible.
this is so heartbreaking...i stayed with my Dad every summer and holiday my whole life up until I was about 18 in South Jackson, and it was magical. We ran the streets, played outside until the street lights came on, sometimes past that. We walked everywhere, to the store, to the park, or just around town and felt completely safe. I live in Atlanta now and met someone that is a Jackson refugee. She and I love to reminisce about the Jackson of our childhoods, the 70's and 80's. I visited about 8 years ago to see a family member and I could not believe it, this looks even worse than it did then. I fear there is no hope for Jackson and that's too bad. It really was a beautiful city and really Mississippi in general is beautiful.
I Hope you helped your dad move away from there? My family roots started there back in the 30's I believe? My mother was 36 so my grandmother was like 16 years older than my mom so?
People used to rely on God, themselves, their families, and their neighbors. The elders were respected as counsels and the neighborhood "police" for the younger generation. For the most part, mothers stayed home and cooked, kept the house clean, and raised their children. Fathers used to work outside the home and did chores around the house. Men would paint the house, cut the lawn, trim the bushes, and knew how to make needed repairs. It was common to see businessowners and homeowners sweeping the sidewalks and streets. People used to play important roles in society that they have now given over to government, and government has failed them. It's time to stop relying on government and start being responsible for your own lives, families, homes, and communities. Start neighborhood cleanups, appeal to local and national charities for help in providing tools, guidance, and assistance. Contact celebrities, pro athletes, local businesses, and ask them to invest in your community. Donate to and lauch a billboard and social media campaign to have a nationwide Clean Up Jackson Month and invite people from all over the country. Every community can overcome anything with faith, togetherness, determination, hard work, and effort.
@@Gitn2itTrue, no one should be relying on the government, but it's the government's/State's job to upkeep the infrastructures of its cities and towns with the money collected from taxpayers. Otherwise, there is no reason for any citizens to have to pay state or federal taxes.

I live in Los Angeles. I was in Mississippi a few decades ago on a business trip. I thought the place was beautiful and the people were friendly. Even at that time, Jackson had some rundown neighborhoods and the poverty was there. But you can find such things in Los Angeles, and you don't even have to look that far! From this video, I suspect that Jackson has gotten worse over the years. But there again, so has Los Angeles. There are places in my home city where you never want to visit at night.

Believe it or not, part of that is the soil. A clay type soil, known as Yazoo Clay, that can can expand and contract by as much as 100 per cent, depending on moisture content. It plays hell with foundations and slabs of homes in Jackson as well.

Bingo!
Finally someone got it right.
But your true comment is considered politically incorrect.
At this point, what would Federal help do that would make a difference on a community that tears things apart , including families ? What is the real source of the problem that keeps these Jackson citizens from caring about their own homes ?
The elephant in the room never gets a mention.
A few years ago I had the occasion to stay in Jackson and while I was checking into my motel in the rain at night I accidently dropped $150 out of my pocket. A short time later I as going through the lobby and was called to the desk where there was standing two large gentlemen that said "that's her". And now all the crime in south Jackson is spilling over into Byram, give it about 20 years it'll be just as bad

Even then, given it's history, the people they replace them with would probably be just as bad or even worse
White Flight! According to Michelle Obama. It's more like blacks can't take of shit.
Requesting the federal government to help get rid of their corruption problem is like asking the mob to help clean up an organized crime problem.

Mississippi and West Virginia were the only two states in the US to qualify for the program because they were the only states on the same socioeconomic level as the third world countries that they operated in.😢💔
So they function as third world countries?
Thanks for sharing

Put them up for free.

Nick, You sir are one brave man... Be careful exploring these places! Love the videos and commentary!
Seems to me that the people that live there have literal skill issues, instead of learning how to be a plumber, electrician etc. they wait for someone they elect to fix the problem. You can't vote yourself out of this, you have to learn skills and fix it.

Wow, 10 minutes in I haven't seen one open business. And I've never seen so many shitty abandoned homes. One positive note, they hold the world record for pot-holes. Something to be proud of, I guess.
Believe it or not, part of that is the soil. A clay type soil, known as Yazoo Clay, that can can expand and contract by as much as 100 per cent, depending on moisture content. It plays hell with foundations and slabs of homes in Jackson as well.
@@ralphholiman7401 then what's the point in paving the streets?..
@@terranceaddison4599 , you may have a point.
