I'm 30 and I remember watching your videos in my early 20s for
Cuban dishes that my grandmother used to cook when I was little and I learned so much from them! I've been dying to make this soup for months now and today I decided to look up the recipe and to look for your profile because I knew you wouldn't disappoint! Thank you so much for this and all your other recipe videos!
Mi Tio owned a restaurant in Miami over 30 years ago and he would make me this soup. It’s my favorite soup of all.

I am a filipino and this is my favorite dish. My grandma who was part spanish used to cook this....luv the beans in this dish and the chorizo caps the flavor. I will normally cook this with about 1 kilo of beans so that there would be some left after the first day and for the next 4-5 days after that I will be eating this day after day.

We have a similar bean recipe in mauritius. We cook garlic, onion, tomatoes, chillies, thyme and parsley in some oil. Then add the white beans and water and simmer it down. We usually have it with some rice on the side with fried fish and coconut chutney (coconut, green chillies and mint crushed together) YUM:)

Si, el caldo gallego lleva lacon y unto. El unto es un ingrediente necesario para el verdadero caldo gallego.

Tu Caldo Gallego se ve delicioso, tengo que probarlo con tu receta. Vivi en Caracas y alli hice Amistad con un cubano de ascendencia espanola exilado que trabajaba de profesor de Termodinamica en la UCV y de visita concertada y planificada le pediamos y este nos preparaba el Caldo Gallego que hacia su madre todos los domingos en Cuba en una olla gigante y nos cuenta era famoso en su casa y que este llevaba Habas o Fabas blancas, chorizo ahumado Asturiano, tambien le ponia Azafran junto con las fabas a remojar por 12 horas la noche antes, luego el resto de ingredients el Unto creo es el Tocino en PR, los chorizos picaditos en trozos, papas, Berro, etc , muy sabroso..

Buena versión del caldo gallego, pero muy diferente al que se hace aquí en Galicia. Seguro que está buenísimo con las aportaciones de américa central. Es bueno ver evolucionar las recetas clásicas claro está siempre para mejor. Gracias por tu vídeo. Probaré tu receta.

YUM! Looks great! It is very, very similar to something my family in Macedonia makes. Except we use Macedonian sausage instead of Chorizo, and we use smoked paprika if not using bacon or smoked meat. LOVELY! I wish I had a bowl of your soup right now!

I could eat this Cuban style every day for the rest of my life. Used to get it in Ybor City and at Raul's in Sarasota. Fabulous. What else do you need?

Se puede agregar un poquito de cilantro. Si no te gusta la acelga puedes usar lechuga.

en mi país, Cuba, se le echaba a ese caldo gallego pizca de comino, de orégano, hoja de laurel, morcilla, y como hoja verde la berza que aquí en Hialeah no la he visto, al igual que acelga. Saludos

THIS DOES NOT LOOK LIKE MY MOTHER'S CALDO GALLEGO. MY MOTHER WAS CUBAN BUT HER PARENTS WERE FROM SPAIN AND SHE WAS AN EXCELLENT SPANISH COOK. SHE WOULD ADD TURNIPS, BERRO AND LACON DE JAMON.

I think this soup is very identical to the mexican soup frijoles charros...yet its a bit more healthier.also the taste is similar.

Yo prefiero la version cubana. Cuando fui a Madrid pedi un caldo gallego y ni se parecia al cubano. Debe ser porque vivo en Miami aunque no soy cubana.
