100 years old. You still boss me around. Yeah! You’re still my daughter. Damn. She can still teach you! With a smile and love and care. And concern. Beautiful.
Grandma was a treasure ❤
I can’t wait to make this soup. Looks so good. I make soup often and I love it. Your mom is so beautiful! 100 is so amazing. She looks fantastic and still very sharp! You are so blessed to have her.
I love that you talk about a healthy, balanced and freshly made school lunch. I love that they were no artificial ingredients like our school lunches have in this country right now.
Love seeing you and your Momma together.
We all miss Grandma..
Grandma is so beautiful at 100 yrs. old and what a delicious soup recipe.

Hello Lidia, This soup has it all and so healthy. This will be Saturday dinnerr at our house. My husband says he doesn't like lentils....he'll be fooled here bc I'll throw in some gnocchi with crusty warm bread and he'll never notice, lol!
Thanks so much. Your mom was a beauty at 100 and so are you. Peace and love.
I am excited to try this soup. I have been looking for a good soup recipe with lentils.

Awesome video thanks 👍👻👍👻
Lidia: I made a big pot of this soup yesterday....it fed four of us and I had 4 quarts left over which we canned this morning. The recipe is hearty and delicious. We are looking forward to having it on occasion after we can the left overs in quart jars. Thank you...we are big fans. By the way, my wife's maiden name is Merendino...she is half Sicilian.
Thank you for such a wonderful dish.
This looks divine. You could even add curry powder for an Indian twist. Thank you.
God bless Grandma
What an adorable interview! Good advice on the soup preparation….blending the bacon and aromatics first …then sautéing. I love making soups. I’m always looking for a way to create a deep taste.
Awesome way to get your veggies.
Great recipe. I too love soups; especially yours. Thank you for sharing the video of Erimina. You are the best. ❤️💖
I’m so used to preparing lentils as Indian dal and dosas, so it’s nice to use them in a different cuisine with very different flavor profiles. One isn’t better than the other, and there is plenty of great nutrition in a bowl of lentils and beans, no matter how you spice it. Thanks for such a great recipe and for sharing grandma with us. She’s a gem!
God bless mama!!!
LOVE!
Delicious as usual. You are the best Lidia.
I was thinking about making your Wild Mushroom Ragout but now i might make this. You are the best!

Hi, Lidia. Do you remove fresh bay leaves or just leave them there as they are fresh? Thanks
❤
😋🍽🥂
Where do you get fresh bay leaves from? I've never seen them anywhere!
Probably from the garden. Please see my note above. There is no point of putting dry, discolored ones. I bet it's from the garden. But bay leaves are in the "spice rack" of any store, not fresh, 😂
They are available at my local organic market and my local upscale store, the latter is a national chain. They do have a lovely aroma that’s different from dried bay leaves, but I don’t think it’s worth making a special trip just for fresh leaves. I store them in my freezer, and they keep well there.
@@pinkmonkeybird2644 You are probably talking about Whole Foods? Thanks
☺
Did you use canned lentils?
Could I add Buttnernut Squash to that?
looks delicious but i like a little meat in my soups. I would use smoked sausage.
I just made this soup, and it was mild but delicious. I am currently putting a video of the making of this soup on my UA-cam channel so, stand by.

Eshte hera e pare qe po te shikoj ,je e mbrekullushme per mua ,ne gatim ,ne pasteriti dhe ne komunikim
Yes, really? Bay leaves are dry in those "spice rack" and they become drier and drier so they change their color.
She never replies. She thinks too highly of herself. Read her name and Mario Batali--she dropped him in the worst time of his life; she is a cruel woman.
Grandma was a treasure😊
Great video Lidia, I was sad to hear grandma passway. I loved watching her with you as you cooked. I have watched your cooking shows on PBS for years. You have some wonderful recipes. Thank you for sharing them.
