    I'm Asian and this video is horribly misinformed 😓 while it's fine to exfoliate once or twice a week doing it too much can strip ur skin's barrier, which would lead to bigger pores/dry skin. The most important step in Asian skincare is actually hydration💧, which means using a watery toner to pat into skin. The super hydrated skin is what actually gives the glass effect. @thedoctors 🗣

      Autumn clarke if you're looking for products that help you in achieving the glassy look, korean beauty products are the answers! i've been using the 7 step korean skin care for a few months now and i can honestly say my dry skin is much more happier these days and it looks really good! you can google the 7 step or even the 10 step korean beauty skincare, it's all over the internet :)) just need to find products that suits your skin condition x

      Autumn clarke you can try the Nature Republic aloe vera pack~ the toner is very watery and fresh, and there's a lotion that gives you an oily (not super oily) skin to moisturize, and they have this clear alor gel that hydrates your skin really nice bc it's basically pure aloe! the pack also come with a face wash. Nature Republic is a really good brand bc all their products are nature based and vegan i think.

      Rah f There's a huge difference between looking "oily" and looking "glowy". Oily skin looks nasty. Glowy skin is clean, smooth, poreless, and glossy. Don't lie and say your pores are unnoticeable when you have oily skin. The oils built up in your pores makes them pretty visible.... DON'T GET THEM CONFUSED...

    • @margaritanoir
      @margaritanoir 6 років тому +2

      Moderate oil like the one that we have after exercising is chic if your skin is clean. Hydration and natural oils are what make skin shine 😊
      Personally I cleanse or exfoliate with a soft product (currently foam and plant derived exfol.), use moisturizer with natural ingredients suitable for acne prone/sensitive skin, thinly apply make up suitable for this skin type with clean sponge. The skin shines despite any natural imperfections and when too much oil accumulates after 6-7 hrs I use oil blotting papers or simply kitchen paper if im in home lol works miracles! If you need more "clean" shine theres matte highlighters- use only matte if you have oily skin! Let me know if my routine works with you, im considering making a vid for all girls with oily skin 💞

  • @mika-tb8cu
    @mika-tb8cu 6 років тому +778

    Omg this video is cringy af plus the misinformation. No body calls that glass skin in asia but you would hear “Glowing skin” instead. Plus it’s not all about exfoliating 😓 it’ll burn your skin if you do it too much. Instead it’s about applying toner/water essence and moisturiser twice a day. The moisture is very important to have a nice smooth glowing skin. Plus no alcohol and paraben in product (especially toner and moisturiser) to avoid dryness.

    I 100% boot their thoughts about micellar water. I use it to wash my face as well as remove makeup. I don't wear foundation daily, so my skin has gotten better with it and I haven't been using cleansers on it except if I want an extra lift I'll wash with Dr. Bronners. I haven't broken out, just one faint and tiny blemish over several months. And I've been hormonal a lot lately.

      Micellar water is wonderful for taking off makeup however it does have a small amount of surfactants in it. You should at least rinse with water adter using it otherwise the surfactants can ultimately contribute to premature aging skin

      Shabana Suliman I don't know, it might work for you, but it doesn't work for everyone. Some skins need a different type of treatment, it's all about your skin type and how your skin reacts to cosmetic products. Besides, you might have just been born with awesome skin that responds well to most things you put on it.

      There are things you can do to help trust me. I used to feel that way cause I had acne that just wouldn't go away. I started using all kinds of products and things on my face and it basically kinda worsened it. I came to the realisation that mixing different regimens wouldn't work, so watch yourself to see if that's what you're doing. After I stuck to some great products my skin looks and feels pretty good. It might not look like glass or whatever but it will make a huge difference. Also, most people don't know this but your skin is like a representation of what you're feeling inside. If you're stressed and not finding time to just smile and relax, your skin won't look to good. Plus, drinking a lot of water and getting enough rest helps so much. Don't give up. It can be done😊

      We have the same skin type: sensitive/combination. Let me help you. Take it easy on your skin. If you use make up, take it off immediately using micellar water When you reach home and in the morning to “degrease” before washing (garnier micellar water for sensitive skin is cheap yet effective, doesnt dry your skin) Wash with lukewarm water (not hot or cold). Use a mild soap in the morning (cetaphil or dove white) and something stronger at night (something with green tea would help as it removes excess oil but doesnt make your skin dry). Follow up with an alcohol-free toner to remove remaining residue (dickinson’s alcohol free toner is the best -contains witch hazel that can help with oil and aloe which soothes and moisturizes). Always tone after washing so to return the ph balance on your skin (soap can mess up your skin’s acidity which results to messed-up skin). Don’t forget moisturizers. Find some moisturizer with AHA or glycolic acid for the evening routine (these ingredients help shed dead skin so to avoid clogging of pores and revealing newer skin at the same time). In the morning use a milder (water-based moisturizer) look for those with hyaluronic acid or sodium hyaluronate. These will help your skin retain moisture but without the use of oil. Don’t forget to use an SPF 30 sunscreen ALWAYS. And probably one of the most important thing is to exfoliate once or twice a week. Don’t use scrubs with beads like st. Ives. It will hurt your skin. Use chemical peels instead that really takes off dead skin. Stay away from charcoal mask, it’s too abrasive. If you can afford, get a facial once a month so you get to have a professional see and clean your face. Hope this works for you. Please let me know how it goes. Best of luck =D

      Randi Higginbotham they weren't reviewing it for that purpose, it's a bust for cleansing because it's a gimmick & can clog pores however for makeup removal or as a first cleanse it's great for some people just not everyone.

      Justin BentRails She probably is wearing makeup but there is indeed people like this... I had a Korean friend who had the most perfect skin because she put the actual effort in. Very few people here in America do so, so it might seem easy to just blame it all on makeup since everyone here wears pounds of it. Glad my Korean friend taught me how to properly care for my skin because now my acne is all gone

      Spoilers yeah when you have oily skin, the blackheads will come back no matter what. You’ve just got to get rid of them as much as possible. To minimize mine, i started oil cleansing (massage jojoba oil into my skin) then cleansing with a cleanser afterwards. Also I use clay masks once a week. My blackheads come back of course but I at least can manage them :)

    I get the same glassy effect WITHOUT these things. It’s called “using a face towel to clean your face”.
    Instead of using soap alone (you can use any facial soap), wipe it on a damp face towel, and use that to clean your face. Not only does it clean the face very well, but it serves as an exfoliator. A dermatologist told me to use it everyday and scrub the face as often as i want to- or even as hard as i can (without of course, causing any injury esp if you have sensitive skin. I advise you proceed scrubbing your face with caution. Every skin is different. Im just being general here and repeating what a dermatologist told me.)
    This immediately helps achieving that glassy look even with just one use!
    Then after patting the face dry, slather it with your skin serums, moisturizers and other anti agung products. Believe me, it works.
    The problem w this video, is i think theyre trying to advertise those “buzz” products indirectly, while all the time their message is just simple: EXFOLIATE!
    The face towel version cant any be simpler than this. At zero cost.

    I don't believe for one second that the "glass skin" girl was completely without BB cream or some sort of concealer. Yes exfoliants, acids and peels will resurface and smooth out your skin but oftentimes redness and imperfections remain. Making it shiny was just from dewy setting spray and no powder.

Drink alot of water. When washing your face, splash it don't rub. Stop using all the products you are using now. One of them could be making you break out. Keep your routine simple. Much love.

      I had cystic acne, and I tried so many things. It was bad and painful. I swear it was like a disease. My mother did some research, and had my primary care provider prescribe me Tretinoin gel and Clindamycin gel and apply them daily. All my acne was gone within a month. I began noticing a difference after a few days. These are prescription only gels, but they were the only thing that worked for me. I tried EVERYTHING else in this comment section, I’ve been a vegetarian for years now, and these gels were the only thing that eliminated my acne entirely. Normal people get acne here and there, but mine was terrible and painful. Cystic acne can be caused by hormonal imbalances and may be the result of an underlying cause. If it’s really bad, you may need to see a regular doctor and have blood work done. It’s nothing terminal, but still, I’ve been there... Before the tretinoin and clindamycin gels, I did use tea tree oil on my face like some of the others were talking about. It did good for me, never caused breakouts and it helped control new ones. Tea tree oil is also known as melaleuca oil, and has many purposes. It’s been known to cure yeast infections when dropped in the birth canal, help alleviate ulceric breakouts from genital herpes and is a common antiseptic. I noticed when I put it on my face it had a drying effect. My skin didn’t peel or anything, but I could feel the bacteria in my face dehydrate, if that makes any sense. At the end of the day, your body is your own, and different things work for different people. Eating healthy always helps, and keep trying things and do thorough research. You’ll get through this !

    what!!!! people in Europe, and Asia (I live in Korea), we use micellaire water only to remove our makeup, then we wash it again with a gel or cream cleanser, I don't know what you guys are talking about of how it's used now, but this is how we use it. It just dissolves the makeup a bit more easily, similar to an oil cleanser, but we don't just leave it at that, hahaha

  • @Freedom_and_Acceptance
    @Freedom_and_Acceptance 6 років тому

    Try using hyaluronic acid from The Ordinary (don't if you live in a dry climate) Also, you could try the foreo LUNA mini face brush, this makes your skin very smooth. And a richer moisturizer. Watch Lia Yoo's videos, about SLS and cleansers, because your cleanser might have SLS (sodium Lauryl sulfate) in it, which actually dries out your skin. Never use cleansers for acné skin, they dry out your skin the most. Look for a gentle cleanser and wash with only water every other day in the morning, that way your skin gets a break and a nice rest. And never use alcohol on your skin, check for that because it is also drying. Love your skin People, don't fight it!
