I used to share a house with a friend who had a Labrador, we spent many days out in the woods together etc. I eventually moved away and never saw my friend or his dog for over five years. The first time I visited him again his dog instantly recognised me. He was over joyed to see me. He’s since died. Have many good memories with him. RIP Samson
I guess every single mail delivery person, ups, fed-ex etc are extremely evil because my dog acted like he wanted to kill them. This whole thing is random, and a flip of the coin.
My immediate family once had a dog who no doubt knew that I had a pacemaker. She'd come into my room almost every morning without fail, do a perimeter check, then come over to me and sniff my face. If I sniffed back, she knew I was okay and she left. I loved that about her. RIP Angel 🥰
Very true! My brother had double pnemonia, he was home and super sick. His dog kept nudging him to ensure my brother didn’t dose off to heaven. Brother finally got it together enough to dial 911. They are lifesavers❤️
My friend had a dachshund who I was very close with. She was always very fond of and affectionate with me, but became moreso around when I was 15. I was later diagnosed with cancer. It was like she knew something was wrong. Aside from some side-effects of the chemo and radiation, I’m fine now. Sadly she passed away a few years ago. RIP Roxxy.
Ann Rule mentioned this in her book The Stranger Beside Me. The title refers to Ted Bundy, who was a coworker of hers for a while, and she had no idea he was capable of the crimes he committed. She wrote, "The only clue I had was that my dog (who liked everyone) didn't like Ted at all. Whenever he bent over my desk at the Crisis Clinic, she growled and the hackles on her neck stood up. The lesson is clear: Pay attention to your dog!"
omg to have had a vile person like that anyhow in your life is just horrible. Thank goodness that the dog gave an opinion that must have protected you one some level.
My dog jumped back when she passed a person with hoodies sitting on the trail. I immediately called her back and we backed out from there. I always trust my dog's instincts.
Dogs don't like me, but I am truly a kind decent person, or at the least, am consciencess of attempting to be that way... I'm the alpha, and I don't bow to lesser beings. The animal feels that they cannot manipulate me, so have no interest, because they just use people for their own satisfaction...I don't allow that
This is me. Most dogs seem to like me even if they see me for the first time.... if only I could get this much attention from women but I've never even had a relationship
The part about a dog's memory of an owner's scent is very true. My dad adopted my dog after I moved away. I was 22 at the time and I thought a puppy was just what I needed. I had my dog for about 4 or 5 months before I realized I wasn't home enough to provide her with the life she deserved. My dad had just retired and he said he would take the 9 month old pup and give her a great life. I knew it was the right thing to do. She always loved me though, and anytime I would visit, she always stuck by my side. My dad became her favorite person. But he died 13 years later, one day when he was cutting wood with the dog, in the woods behind the house. When Mom found him, the dog was asleep in the truck. She had no idea what had happened. After he died, my dog never stopped watching for him to come home. Mom would come home in the car and the dog would see her park from the front window of the house. My mom would open the front door and the dog would whine and cry looking for dad as she circled the car. Then after she couldn't find him, she'd come in and greet mom. It was just mom and the dog in the house after that. The dog never really loved my mom like she loved my father or myself, she never quite understood that it was just mom and her left. She thought dad would be home tomorrow. At night, the dog would sleep on the couch in the living room, waiting for my dad to come through the door. For 3 years it was like this. By this time my dog was 16 years old, arthritic, mostly deaf, and mostly blind, with roughly 6 teeth left in her mouth. She required a special diet and we needed to take extra care to preserve her kidney functions. One night, I drove to Mom's house and I didn't get there until midnight or 1. The living room light was left on for me, and there was my dog, asleep on the couch. She didn't hear me come through the door and the light didn't keep her up. She was snoring in her little doggy sort of way. I brought my bags inside and gently walked to my room. I sat my things down on the bed and returned to see if the commotion had woken up the dog. I must have been quiet enough, because I did not wake her. So, I walked beside her little sleeping body and waved my hand to blow my scent over her face. Her little nose began to wiggle as she started to take short chopping sniffs as her head lifted from the pillow. She didn't even have her eyes opened before she started to whine and cry in excitement. She got up as fast as she could and wiggled her old bones all over the place as she became filled with joy. I will never forget that night. My scent was all it took to wake her up from a very deep sleep. She died of a stroke about 3 months later, she was 2 months shy of her 17th birthday. I held her as she died. I was her last smell, I hope it was enough to stir a great memory together, as she slipped away forever.
Owner scent and memory for dogs is very real. Know those thousands of videos of dogs who went nuts once soldiers returned home from Iraq after a one year tour of deployment?
@@jonharrison3114 Dogs don't really understand death like we do. They don't know that it's permanent. My dog eventually inspected and smelled my Dad's body. She still waited for him to return. A dog can understand when any living thing quits interacting with them after a traumatic event, like a fight or some other experience. But they don't really understand what it means. My dog got to sniff and see my dad's body. She just waited for him to wake up. Any time he slept, she left him alone. There is nothing you can do, short of destroying a person's body in front of the dog, to show them someone is never coming back. Dogs love their pack. They serve their leader. Even when that leader isn't around. They are Conditioned by us to expect us to eventually return. We always return. We may leave for a few weeks or months, but we always come back. That's why they never stop looking. They speak a different language than us. Dogs have a similar understanding to 2 year old humans. 2 year olds cannot understand death.
I have a service dog for multiple medical issues. I love that they mentioned migraines with the seizures. I have both, and My gsd warns me of both, among other things. She saves my life everyday.
My wife is epileptic and we should have trained Oskar to be that dog, but by the time we knew that dogs can do that he was to old. But I knew something was up because before a seizure he hid somewhere! Doesn't help if I'm not around though...
I had a doberman. I had throat cancer and she slept across my throat when I came home from radiation treatment. I beat it but 4 yrs later she died of throat cancer on the same spot as I had it. RIP Madie you will always be in my heart and mind.
I miss my dog so much. She passed away last year. 15 years of unwavering loyal companionship and unconditional love. From a newborn pup all the way till her last day, she has been in my life. Please treat your canine companion with love and respect. They're gone before you know it.
I'm sorry for your loss. I've had four (4) dogs lost throughout my life, and they were all brutal losses. My neighbor loves dogs just like I do, and they have between two (2) and four (4) dogs at their house at any given time. If one goes, there is another dog to help soften the blow. But it's true: "When you buy a dog, you're buying a tragedy." -George Carlin 🥲
Once, I had a job interview, and I had to go to my boss house. She had a dog, and the dog seemed to like me. In the end of the interview, the dog came in the room and sat between my legs, asking for a hug. My boss watched my reaction and interaction, and hired me for that. No joke.
My dog would literally warn me of people, lead me to things I needed to see, and let me know a person was good. I miss my dog terribly. There will never be another like my dog.
I had a job interview last week. The owner's dog came over and sat with his paw on my leg The owner said his dog was very picky and he likes you. I did not get the job.🎉
I trust my dog first. When he shows alarm around a new person, I listen carefully. Horses, cats, etc. have shown me the same respect. He was invaluable while I was temporarily homeless. He took treats and wagged his tail at many of the people around me. There were a few he flew into a rage whenever they got near me. He was right; and I took the hint. Usually, others came forward to quietly inform me that the dog had good instincts. He is a rescue, who has rescued me many, many times since. I show him the kindness and care that he has always shown towards me. I don't know how they do it; but I trust the process. Animals have many senses that we lack; we need their help. Rats can find mines or survivors in the rubble, dogs can alert to cancer, seizures, help a blind person see, etc. Respect them.
Great comment AND I like the ring of your username [Valkyrie (Scandinavian) + year of Hastings battle (the Normans were descendants of Vikings who settled on the Western coast of France)].
Dogs can also kill people, like innocent children after a pitbull was let loose unintentionally by its owner. I think it depends on the animal and the circumstance. Respect all living things, but don't let your guard down.
Dogs are human's best friend. I am now sobbing at how protective your dog was to you. He was your furry, four legged bodyguard and companion. Whenever I hear on the radio or see scenes of natural disasters like hurricanes or blizzards, my first thought is did they evacuate the dogs? Are the dogs still being cared for despite the weather?
I have a dog phobia, they scare me. However I’m a very great person, I treat everyone like I want to be treated. Never judge others. I’ve had dogs growl at me and my babies, sometimes just a new person is alarming to them.
The part about dogs forever memorizing smells of people important to them made me take a trip down memory lane. When I was little more than a toddler, our neighbor had a Shiba which was still an extremely rare and unknown breed here in Europe at the end of the 90s. Fatefuly, we were both born the same month of the same year and ended up growing up next to each other, a green see-through fence separating us. The dog, named Luis, wasn't happy : his owner never took him out to walk, was rarely at home and he didn't really take much care of him. So Luis decided he wanted to stay with us and dug a passage under the fence to come over to our garden. Every single day after his owner went to work, he would crawl under the fence, come spend the day with me and then go back to his house in the evening before his owner returned. When I was 4, due to my father's work, we moved to a different country and got separated. A decade later, teenager me came back to where I spent the first years of my life. I went to the front gate of Luis house and, before I could even call his name I saw him, now an old dog, cruising out of the house followed by a younger Shiba. The younger Shiba stayed a bit back, watching me with a mix of curiosity and wariness ; Luis, on the other hand, was so happy he was screaming and jumping all over the place. In that moment, I was certain : after almost 10 years apart he still remembered me, still recognized me. This was the last time I got to see him and it still breaks my heart that I couldn't just open the gate and cuddle him in my arms.
My dog was always friendly to all , He was like strangers are just friends I have not met yet kind of dog . Even when I took him to an emergency vet because he had a collapsed lung he was more interested in saying hi to a person in the waiting room than getting his breathing fixed ( multiple aspirations of the chest failed we did surgery and removed a lobe that had a good size hole in it . He lived) One day while walking him we approached two men . My dog pulled me away from them turned and growled at them . He had never done that before . They kept going and so did we . He was a Rotty/ Lab Mix . smartest dog i have ever known
A lot of this depends on how the owner treats the dog and what kind of environment the dog is raised in. I have come across dogs that wouldn't let me go. I would come over and they would run to me to be pet and loved. I have also had a handful of times where dogs did not like me. It's not always the personality of the person.
True but people will believe anything they see these days. I'm pretty sure even Ted Bundy could have walked up to a couple dogs and had a friendly pet with it
When my brother and I moved away for college our dog didn't know how to react. My parents told me she would sleep in our rooms at night waiting for us to come home. It got so bad that she wouldn't eat. I got an apartment that allowed pets and moved her up there for her final years.
Awee our family dog is also sleeping in my bed when I'm in my university town. When my parents are on vacation she is sleepig in their bed and she refuses to get up until it's really necessary to go on a walk.
think about it like this you left your friend to go to a school to learn absolutely nothing while they aged and died off missing you so you could go to school to be nothing and do nothing but party would you take it back and not sink your self 10s of thousands of dollars in debt to be socially accepted by people who are not peers or friends ,and the one friend who wanted you there more anything died missing you because you sought to go study at a failing educational system
My parents ran a pub when I was growing up that we also lived in, and they had a regular customer who our dog HATED. She hated him so much that she'd bark any time he so much as drove by the pub. He seemed like a good guy so they never understood why she despised him specifically. Many years later my mum ran into one of his daughters and it turns out he was horribly abusive them.
There are abusive people who dogs like. I knew a person who even killed dogs at some point and dogs still liked him. I just think that dogs just read the energy of a person for that moment and that's it.
@@yesman1743 exactly, I don't believe dogs can read through you, rather just for the moment. I am a piece of shit, or used to be; and dogs either love or hate me depending on my mood. I have some "mood disorder" ( in quotes because it's a crutch, let's be real ) and some days dogs will hate or love me, and it depends on my mood. I've had dogs be pissed at me just because the day went to shit, and every time I give the dog a direct eye contact and piss the dog off more, just to have them retreat from fear. Other times I'm in a great mood and dogs come up to me and ask for love, and I give it to them. I fucking hate dogs that are reactive, they sit there and agitate you because they don't like your energy. I have to deal with people with shitty energy all the time; I don't get to yell at them for an hour because of it though. One day I seriously feel like I'll end up kicking some dog across the room, just because I was in a shitty mood and it felt like agitating me. That's why I love cats, I can be in a shitty mood and they come up and want to help me; they don't agitate because they can see I'm agitated. I wish animals could talk rather than meow or yip, it'd teach everyone a lot.
@@lillee4207 I think dogs can hear your heartbeat, and maybe people with bad moods or bad intentions have a heartbeat that sounds like danger. This makes calm bad people especially dangerous.
@@Iqueyi have pots and high thyroid, if i get a dog i hope he will be a service dog and not see me as bad bc my blood pressure drops and pulse increase. My blood pressure have been to 190, and down to 87. I have chronic late Lyme, Bartonella etc. Last summer I got really sick of the Lyme bacteria. I smelled wierd, like decay and rotten, or sweet but distinct, like infection. Dogs were barking at me, one small chased tryna attack me unleahed. Dog always loved me before. And after antibiotics I am better and dont have that wierd smell anymore. Now dogs act normal. They must have smelled the disease .. plus i was also in bad mind space being so sick and being mistreated by healthcare. When my bp was 190 during cluster headache in ambuance to ER. When it stopped to 87, a week after i had a seizure passing out. Sometimes it can be disease they smell and react to. It only happend during that time it was very bad symptom wise Much better now but less symptoms but atleast I don't stink anyone even if I scrubbed myself with Epsom salt and ACV and antibac, i stunk And I never smelled bad before or after But I smelled like death last year until 3 months antibiotics I'm a animal lover, so they were reacting to me bc of my disease and wierd smell/bacteria from Lyme and Bartonella
I have a service dog for PTSD and she’s literally saved my life. I’ve always said she is my “danger alert” too as she has an uncanny sence of determining “baddies”. One time we were walking alone on a beach and she kept looking behind and growling and barking (which she hardly ever does) I turned around to see what she was so upset about and noticed 2 guys walking a considerable distance behind us. I trusted her instincts and lead her off the beach and up to the street and took a different route home. We pass people when out walking all the time and she’s trained to ignore everybody but now I know, if there’s someone bad around, she’ll tell me.
One of my dogs was abused as a pup and she’s very wary and hesitant of people. Some people she will allow to pet her but she doesn’t totally warm up to them. I recently met a gentleman and the first time I had him to dinner, she had given him her ball and was totally looking at him with love and trust. When he comes over, she’s all about him lol. He still doesn’t believe me that she’s not like that with anyone. It’s amazing
THATS SO SWEET 🥺 my baby girl dixie is the same way but she has a BUNCH of aunties (my besties) that come over and she crawls in their lap like a little puppy everytime its so sweet because she acts so big and bad and scary when she meets new people because shes afraid of being beat up again 🥺🥺
I remember my Mum said they went somewhere and the place had guard dogs that were usually barking viciously at visitors… but with my Dad, they were like puppies, just gaga over him, wanting pets and love.
In my nuclear family, my dog interprets me as the play mate. He’s always trying to wrestle. And unfortunately, I love to tease him. One thing I do is I ass tag him when he’s not looking and run. Course, if you have a corgi, it’s hard to resist.
@@azazelgrigori9244 I have a rescued Pit Bull currently. Our emmediate family is scared to death of Cookie, she doesn't understand. Cookie gently plays with my Grandson. Lol. Cookie is "Momma's Dog". My dog once went nuts on a neighbor he had previously been very excited to see and completely friendly with . That evening my neighbor fell very ill and almost died of a previously unknown staph infection. He spent weeks in the hospital and upon his return home Jake had no issues with him. I honestly think he knew he was sick and was protecting me.
I was severly sick by Morgellons by Lyme, no it is not delusions, it is proven to caued by Lyme, Bartonella, Babesia. Had two Bulls eye rash in 09, coming from a neglect family narcs who felt was a issue for her to take me to ER at night, bc she was on going to bed bc we were going on a plane next morning. Well my life never been the same, seriously chronically sick since, almost died by sepsis and organ failure etc. Got neuro psych symptoms like ADHD since, got cluster headache and Raynauds syndrom, vomiting, diarrhea, rashes, itching, sores, fatuige, pain, flu like symptoms, for 15 years. Moved to old moldy house, started adhd meds, that probably made me 100x worse. Stopped adhd meds and got on antibiotics. Still symptoms but less. But dogs were freaking out on me during last summer. My skin, nails, hair changes, weight loss, rashes, sores, cysts, etc. Dogs were going crazy. I felt like I was rotting inside and half dead by then.. But now its better after antibiotics and cutting out stimulant (adhd meds). It wasn't the drugs making me see things. I been dx for 14 years, medicated on and off depending if I wanted to for managing school and work. Then I got so sick I asked for meds just to get to the shower or to the nearby store. Bc I was bed ridden. So I was sick for 15 years before Morgellons It's not a drug delusion, but drugs makes it worse, but its there even if you dont do it. It just makes it worse. If I was crazy and imagining it, than 20 of so dog was crazy and imagining it too One chihuahua went crazy tryna attack me from across the street I knew it was the disease and the wierd smell coming from me and the biofilm that it makes to hide the bacteria and parasites candida and fungus. I was treated like crazy bc thats what CDC says it is, but studies have shown it is related to tick illness. I was close to dying and docs refused to examine me or treat me, just saying I was on ADHDmed and too thin so they thought I was abusing I was thin bc illness, diarrhea, sweating, vomiting, lack of appetite bc nausea and pain So the CDC bad doctors and eveeyone on the internet can say I am crazy and morgs not real But all the dogs went fucking crazy during the height of my infection, and never before, and never since. Used to feed wild strays in Greece. None of them reacted negative to me, but that was years before I got this sick. Dogs always loved me, but when I was sick they freaked out. Going to doc didn't help, just bullied and threats of locking me up in insane house, for a very real disease. And if my vitals readings showed I was sick, they said the machine is broken. Yeah.. right. Yeah bc delusions makes you have fever, high pulse and low bp,etc. I might be crazy but then all those dogs who freaked out must be as delusional too and locked up for psychosis
I have PTSD and my little battle buddy can recognize when I trigger. He’s been an absolute life saver, literally. So when you see an emotional support dog don’t dismiss it as a gimmick.
I also have PTSD from a tragic accident I was involved in at 14. 19 years ago . I have had my dog for 13 years not a trained emotional support dog however I never got the proper help I really need but having my dog I realized has been the reason I have been able to keep going he goes everywhere with me including work and really helps me so I also consider him to be a life saver. He actually jumps into my lap wraps his paws around me and literally hugs me . He has never missed a moment when I injured my self or was emotional. He is always there for me .
I concur, but I will dismiss an emotional support peacock or rabbit. People are getting ridiculous with some of it. Dogs are natural human companions born for the job.
There was a cat that was mean to everybody, I came back on leave and was having some major anxiety, I started petting the cat, it didn't have a problem with me
Due to all the lock downs Sydney siders all bought dogs and they are everywhere now and as a fellow sufferer but not a per owner just watching them in the street has done me the world of good and the following is a true story. I was out working Uber eats on my bike when I was stopped at a pedestrian crossing reflecting on the fact that god is dog spelt backwards when a Groodle looked me in the eye and I heard the words in my mind "you have your answer" I rode for a bit still "reflecting" when it occurred to me the we are the ones who are spelling it backwards and that they really are gods who walk the earth to show us how its done by accepting everyone you meet as family, google maps then said "turn left into Barker street".
This is absolutely true!! I lost my best friend in early September but I could 100% tell when we were around someone who could do me harm. I miss her terribly!
This explains something that happened with a dog I used to have. We took our dog to the family Christmas get together. My sister in law was there with her boyfriend and their kids. Her boyfriend had a son around 7 or 8 and was a real mean kid, was always disrespectful to adults and would bully my nephew. We had a yorkie/pomeranian mix that took one look at the kid and started growling. The other kids would come up and pet her and she would show no reaction, but she refused to let this one kid near here. If he moved towards her she would step back and start barking. The whole time I kept thinking of that scene in Ace Ventura Pet Detective where a dog starts growling at the villain and Ace says "so it's true, animals can detect evil."
When I was a kid, I was in an abusive "friendship" with this one awful girl who used to bully people, like would even physically assault her mother, call her a bitch, etc. One time she came over by my house and looked out the backdoor window where our dogs were, and they IMMEDIATELY started tensing up at her. Like would not blink, their hair was standing on end, and they began growling and barking at her. Prior to that, I had NEVER seen them act that way towards someone, and they usually loved meeting new people.
You have to take that with a grain of salt because some dogs are hyper protective to thier owners no matter what. I embrace dogs and there have been a few who just growl no matter who it is because the owner is around. It does matter how owners influence thier dogs behavior. With any experiment you have to look into the details of the experiment. If its sample size is reliable, what kind of dogs were used, and other factors. Different dogs have different aggressions. However, there is no doubt dogs are sensitive animals. "Mans best friend"
Great video ! My wife is a type 1 Diabetic and we do have a diabetic alert dog. I can't thank Dogs4Diabetics enough ! I can't count how many times these dogs have saved my wife's life. It takes many people to get these dogs trained. I have an insatiable gratitude for everyone at Dogs4Diabetics.
I'm diabetic, and when I was something like 10, I went to sleep to a diabetic friend. Her family had a big dog, and during the night, my blood sugar dropped, and the dog felt it and woke the parents up. They told me their dog would also do it for their daughter. Awesome
My husky was chill with everybody, never got aggressive or barked incessantly. But whenever my grandfather would show up, he'd get tense and start barking at him through the window. Even went as far as to show a bit of fear when he got close. He never got used to him after his frequent visits. Nothing about my grandfather set off alarm bells to me; he was a chill old man who never hurt anyone. But later on I heard that he was a bit of an animal abuser when he was a kid, twisting cat tails, smacking dogs around, that sorta thing. If he was sensing his past, it was pretty wild that he could tell after decades and decades ago. Like I said, this was literally the only person in the world he had issue with; strangers and people delivering packages he would just stare at with curiosity. Other family members like my uncle and cousin he would embrace their affection every time.
My best friend used to work as a veterinarian's assistant. Dogs didn't like her too much outside the vet clinic because she smelled like the vet clinic. She thought it had a lot to do with assisting during euthanasia procedures and the scents that go along with death. Now she's a horseback riding instructor and horse trainer and all dogs love her.
I can't explain how much I love dogs they literally bring so much comfort and happiness. My family thinks I'm crazy because I get along with dogs so good but I can just read their energy so well and reciprocate it
Ha ha, I remember being on vacation in the UK riding my bicycle along a channel. Dog was standing in the middle of the street.I slowed down and stopped. Dog came to me. Me: "You're such a good girl!" petted the dog and we both had a good time. Owner: "That wasn't strange!"
That sounds like confirmation bias. I don’t like dogs or cats, but they sure love me. If they can sense your love, how is it they cannot sense my lack of love. The only thing I learned from this video is that you can fool dogs as much as you can fool humans.
I 100% trust my dog with letting me know who I'm safe around. I have ptsd and she's not officially a service dog, but she may as well be. dogs are so much more intelligent than most people know. little furry angels 💜
I can confirm in regards of being gone from my dog. I have been in and out of hospitals the past year due to stage 4 cancer. Every time I got home and some of these times were weeks long, she was reprehensive until she got a whiff of my scent. Then it would turn into trying to keep a 120 lb dog off of me while she was overjoyed I was home. Love my Princess! (my daughter named her)
As a delivery person of over 13 years, I've learned that dogs will come up to you and you never know what they're gonna do. A cat on the other hand will either say whats up or bounce. No aggressive deceptions detected.

I'm type 1 diabetes patient, last year I was tested covid positive, my pet stayed with me because he knew that living inside for that long I am suffering from depression. He was there for me, he brought balls to play in my bed . Since then I know how lucky sister I'm to have pogo in my life, and then again I was tested covid positive after some month, my dog knew that I wasn't feeling good, he always used to lick my face, hand, he didn't wanted me to be in bed all time at that time, pogo is the biggest reason why I'm alive today, because when I had covid second time, I thought it's a end , but he didn't let me give up. Since then I knew having a pet is a blessing.
I had a Malamute mix for 16.5 years. One time I went to visit someone who lived really close to where I lived and I had been friends with but had gotten into drugs really bad. I walked my dog over and brought her some food. He was probably around 5 at the time. We were sitting in her living room and my dog was right between my legs on the floor. Staring down the empty hallway. So alert. Suddenly, one of the doors started to open, and my dog's hackles stood up so high, his entire crest, down his shoulders. And this almost imperceptible low growl started from deep in his chest and as the door opened more, it got louder. A man walked out into the hall. He was white, probably 6 feet, at least 250. You know those big thick guys? Big boned kind of tank fat? Shaved bald. My dog stood up as he was growling and backed up onto my lap, completely blocking me from view, fully between this guy and me, and he hunched down like he was going to spring off and lunge at this guy as he came down the hall. Obviously he stopped at the end of the hallway, he came to the entrance of the living room and stopped dead, finally hearing and seeing this 115 lb wolf like dog ready to tear his throat out. He asked, "What tf is wrong with your dog??" And I remember thinking, _No, what tf is wrong with YOU?_ My sweet, gentle dog who lets kids sit on him and spends his time swimming in lakes getting kids to hold onto him so he can bring them to shallow water where they're safer, is ready to rip you apart to keep you away from me. He was only aggressive/suspicious of people a few times and he was right every time. Once a friend of my bf at the time stayed over at the house. Apparently he woke up at like 6 or 7 and couldn't find a cigarette, so he went out the laundry room through the garage so he didn't have to wake us up, and went to the store. He said he came back, and when he opened the door to the laundry room, my dog was sitting there waiting. And wrapped his teeth around the guy's hand and started biting down until the guy pulled the door shut. He let go. He was protecting the house. Another time he was home on the porch alone at my mom's and a guy my mom knows came up on the porch and knocked on the door. My dog didn't move. He tried the handle to see if it was locked. Bad move. He called my mom freaking out that he had been stuck on the porch for 10 or 15 minutes but every time he tried to get off, my dog would scare the sht out of him, and he made her come home and tell my dog it was ok. He went and lied back down. Job done. I really miss that dog. He was my life partner for a decade and a half of my life. He was given to me at 5 weeks so I even bottle fed him briefly. I used to say I should've called him Shadow because he was always in my personal space bubble, within reach, I never felt unsafe or vulnerable with him. I wish I still had him but he was like 120-140 years old when he passed. He stayed as long as he could.
He sounds absolutely awesome. Clearly he was crazy about you. I’m so sorry for your loss but still happy to think that you two had each other as long as you did.
Best dogs to have. Those that just stay there with you, are always there for you, and stick around as long as they can. I had one like that. The memories will make you smile and cry forever, but wouldn't trade them for the world. :)
Two times my dog has peed in between myself and another person and looked me dead in the eye when he did it. Both times were inside my house despite him being very well potty trained. (never has accidents inside) both of these individuals (whom I thought were friends) would go on to cause me a lot of pain and anguish in my life. I distinctly remember not being upset with him either time because I could tell he was trying to tell me something, unfortunately I didn’t listen. All I know is the next time it happens, I won’t make the same mistake.
My first cat (neutered) did that to a college housemate who showed up to the apartment with a male kitten without telling me. My cat never bothered the kitten, but one weekend when I went home, our third Housemate told me that 5 minutes after I walked out the door, my cat went over to the kitten's human, stared her in the face to get her attention, turned and wet on her shoes! I think that was a definite "Pi$$ on you" moment.
My doggo has never attacked anyone, lady came over and stole a bottle of pain pills from Grandmas room, Butters went after her leg where she hid it in here socks, had no idea till it fell out of her pants as she was leaving. Good boy puppers
Dude! I had a yellow lab named Butters. That's insane they both had the same name. Best dog I EVER had. He convinced my family to turn from beagle people to labrador people lol. He was so smart too. He knew he wasn't allowed in the street so he would do this thing where he would walk up to the edge of the yard, pause, slowly turn back and look at me, then slowly place one paw gently into the street to gauge my reaction. He would pull the paw back, put it forth, rinse and repeat. I couldn't get upset because I was so impressed at that display of intelligence.
Our chocolate lab is normally not much of a lap dog. Maybe a minute or two with me.Then one night I was in quite a bit of extreme anxiety... the lab jumped up and laid on me for 45 minutes. Never trained at all
Brown labs are my favorite..! We have one also, he’s about 40kg (big!) and still has his “puppy” wrinkles on his head. He is also partly a natural guard/watchdog for some reason, which is really rare for a Labrador. If you ever feel lonely, get a Labrador and train with him often. It really can bring happiness
#6 saved my life... I had a big, aggressive Akita when I was in HS, and I hadn't seen him for a few months after I went to college. When I visited my mom, she said she forgot the house key, so I should go around back and go in the back door to let us in. As I opened the back door, late at night, in the dark, I saw my 120 lb Akita running towards me, and I thought, "Huh. If he doesn't remember me, this is going to be bad." But of course he did, and went nuts when I came in. Whew! 😂😂😂
Our dog growing up was a rescue pup. She was so gentle and sweet and loved most everyone. My autistic sister would walk her sometimes, and once a kid from school tried to harm my sister and our dog, snarling and in full protective mode, would have eaten the boy if she had not been restrained by her leash that day. I had never seen her react like that. Some years later, a man came to our house to buy a gun from my dad and our dog went absolutely nuts to where she had to be put downstairs until the transaction was complete.
If you anticipate that your dog will not do well in a situation, they will pick up on those cues and react upon them, feeding their (and your) anxiety. That's why training is SO important. It imparts confidence in your dog AND you.
I ran an beach side, Island Style Dinner Show for about 10 years here on Guam. Guam has a large population of feral dogs and we had about 9 or so that hung out under the stage on most days. I noticed that when Tourists walked along the beach, by the venue, the dogs paid no attention most of the time. But, when local strangers came by, they would all come out barking and make a fuss. They also seemed to know who was a potential beach bar customer and who was not. I observed this behavior for years and it always amazed me how they knew who was who. These were just feral pups with no humans training them about anything.
I had an American Bulldog named Raven and went through a bad divorce. She really helped me through it. When I started dating my now husband, before we got too serious he had to pass The Raven Test. If my dog didn't like him I wasn't going further with him. I had my sister bring my dog outside to neutral ground to meet him, and I stood apart from him so as not to give her signals. Needless to say she liked him so he passed. But I've learned to trust what dogs think of people.
The more I learn about their behavior, the more I love my dog 🥰❤️ I even went out grocery shopping today to make special healthy meal prep balls to add to his BARF meals. I bought him a new, super comfy and much bigger basket this week as well, the happiness and gratitude he showed is worth all the money i spent on it and more 😂 It’s like a smiling baby, it can totally make your day! It’s just sad to think that some will eventually take their dog to a shelter or worse, tie it to a tree somewhere 😢
Oh boy.. We dont deserve pigs, cows and livestock in general, but dogs? Wtf, they are living the best, comfortable live with a clear distance of all animals. So why dont we deserve dogs? I could understand your argument, but we dont eat their meat, drink their milk. We do not exploit them like other animals.. Keep in mind that many other animals live in the hell, because people want to eat meat and drink milk.. Sad how few people understand this point.
@@appysterm because i think that other animals also have a right to live and to have a "good Life"? For you livestock is just good enough to feed your dog, hm? you're so fuckin hypocritical... contemptible!
My late husband invited an old school friend over one evening. The friend took his friend. Immediately, you could tell our GSD did not like this other man. For the entire evening our dog wouldn't take his eyes off this man. When one stood up to leave, our dog was OK. When the other stood up to leave, our dog started barking, growling and baring his teeth. The man sat down again. This happened several more times until we removed our dog from the room. This is how GSDs operate. As soon as the person they don't like tries to leave (and this includes intruders like burglars), the dog will prevent them from leaving. Our dog did not like this man and nor did I - there was just something about him. We found out a couple of years later this man had a criminal conviction for crimes that, shall we say, involved young children. Our dog was right. I would trust a dog's judgement over a human's any day. Sadly, I no longer have our lovely dog as I lost him to old age 2 years ago.
I grew up with a GSD, who was normally very VERY protective of the house around strangers. When my uncle, who had lived out of state for the dog’s entire life, relocated back home we were prepared for a long process of introducing a new person into his world. It took seconds. I maintain to this day, the dog recognized a “family scent” and just instantly accepted my uncle as part of the pack, it happened too quickly to be anything more complex or behavioral.
@@blackmamba___ They can but in this case I was in the kitchen and my husband let his friend and the other man in. Dog didn't like him from the start - if you know dogs' body language, you'll understand. If my dog didn't like someone, there was always a good reason - as we found out. Dogs are really quick to pick up on how their owners feel. When my husband passed away, Buddy came over and put his head on my lap, looked up at me with his soft brown eyes as if to say "It's OK. You've still got me". Buddy passed away 2 years ago and there's not a day goes by that I don't miss him 😢
As a person who gets high anxiety, I've had many dogs bark at me for this reason. I mightve made their owners think im some sort of bad person. But really, I just get high anxiety around new people in general. I wish dogs could understand that there's a difference between anxiety and evil intent.
Same - but I've found a lot of dogs are a lot like their owners. Sweet dogs with kind owners get my anxiety and act like "it's okay, dude - I still love you". But jerks get off on watching their fearful, aggressive dog make people nervous (which I rationally know is just the dog's own fear response at my state of anxiety, but still makes my anxiety worse creating a vicious circle).
@@DennisMoore664 I have a doberman, he is super sensitive. I have always been super gentle with him and he with me and most people. He loves affection from most. But there are people he growls at, I raised him from a puppy so he has only known love. Best dog I ever had, yet he can sense people who are not right. He senses them way before I do. He is an amazing dog. Perhaps your moniker is a reflection of your personality. Most people's are. I can see why a dog might be agitated at a horseman of the apocalypse.
Well, it might be not so bad. I experienced few times when the dogs literally got scared of me as hell. You pass by and think, am... am I baddie?.. They even didn't bark.
@MyGuitarTwerks don't listen this bs:D I had similar problem in the past. Everything changed when I moved into the new dorm. It was a fenced community, and security folks tend to let their dogs go around after the midnight. The dogs barked a lot on anyone who approached the territory, and even could attack you if you would mess up. We were students, and you know, even with the dogs, from time to time, we came back after the midnight. So security folks explained us how to interact with the dogs. Nothing very special - no running, let them sniff your fist. First few times, I came back with other guys, so it was helpful, and then I got used. Not saying the steps are applicable to any dogs, but the best thing you can do is to ask a dog-guy/cynologist for a lesson on what to do/do not with the dogs. Shortly, learn and practice to interact.
Dogs can also be bad at detecting bad people. When I was in high school my girlfriend's dog absolutely hated me. I thought it was odd because normally dogs (and kids) usually love me. It really bothered me, why? Then one day I guess he decided I was okay after all. From that point on that little black dog named Murphy would NOT leave me alone. It was so bad, they literally had to put him in another room when I visited. I really liked it better when he hated me. Dogs can be as weird as people.
Like the video mentioned that dogs can remember previous bad experiences and maybe that dig had a bad experience with someone that looked like you or wore the same scent (cologne, deodorant, etc). Once the dog had the epiphany you weren't the person from the bad memory, you became their bestie..much to your chagrin 🤣
@@unfree.radical Or, for a while, he was ill-at-ease in his girlfriend's house. Nervous about impressing parents or something, maybe. Then as he grew more comfortable, the dog responded to the shift in confidence.
A lot of times, I found, that when a dog does not trust you, is afraid of you, it's usually because you remind them of someone who may have abused them, or got aggressive with them in the past. I knew a German Sheppard who hated people in uniform, whether it was a maintenance person, or mailman or whatever. When he saw that uniform it made him very uneasy. He was fine with anyone else, and so we figured he must of been treated badly by someone in a uniform. Perhaps a mechanic because he was adopted. We were told he came form a junk yard situation and was used as a guard dog to guard the yard in all kinds of conditions.
Many years ago when I worked as a parole officer in Nevada a drug dealer who had been released on parole moved into a trailer in the desert and bought a Rottweiler thinking it would deter me from visiting his residence. I went there looking for him on several ocassions when he was not home and his dog loved the attention and treats I would give him. Later, when he was home and I walked unmolested or even challenged by his dog the Parolee was quite distraught that his huge scary dog loved his parole officer. I think that dog would have protected me from him if push came to shove but dogs have always loved me.
you were probably also nicer to the dog than the owner who got the dog solely for intimidation purposes. *good doggie* who wants a belly rub??* owner looks on bewildered, lol
I had a friend who had a really mean pit pull I was the only person who could be in the same area as the dog. He would actually greet me like I was his best buddy. My friend was really perplexed lol
I had a Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix that was the sweetest dog ever, she was super friendly & usually loved everyone. One day my boyfriend’s Aunt came to visit from out of town, as soon as she walked through the door & my dog saw her she ran in the bedroom, hid under the bed & started growling/barking like crazy the whole time she was there. She had NEVER acted that way before & never did after that. I immediately knew something was off with his Aunt, I later found out she wasn’t the best person. My dog knew it immediately! Dogs are incredible creatures ❤️❤️
I had a Cockapoo named Emma and she lived for 16 years. We got her as a puppy but after a few years had to give her away to a new owner, well years later they new owner went to a nursing home and couldn't take Emma, I received a call asking if I wanted her back, of course I said YES!!! After a decade+ Emma jumped into my arms and instantly recognized and remembered me. What a sweet reunion...she has since passed, R.I.P. Emma.
I delivered for a supermarket and always had a treat for the customers’ dogs. Some customers were concerned their dog might bite; it never happened. They knew I loved them all. The other drivers often told me they’d met one of my ‘friends’. Those dogs never forgot the van and the man in the cap!
I have a purebred chihuahua who charms everyone, even the chihuahua haters. Not only is she stinkin’ cute, she is also incredibly smart and confident. She is my service dog in training, and she LOVES to work. She has been tasking for me for over a year, and she’ll be 2 in October. Her retrievals are almost legendary among SD handlers in my area. She is also the “sniffiest” dog I’ve ever met, her nose is always to GE ground (which we’re working on, because it’s generally not appropriate for a working SD). I discovered that she can smell when I’m having asthma symptoms. She can detect it from other people too - including the dog behaviorist we’re working with. So we’re working on shaping that into an alert and a response. She is also being trained to perform tasks/do work related to psychiatric disabilities.
Unfortunately you can’t take them everywhere. I have autism too. I deal with social anxiety. For some reason other people assume I have bad intentions. But dogs typically enjoy my company. I’ve seen people pass by me in public areas with dogs and the dogs would actually attempt to play with me. I think the world might be better off if people could bring dogs to more places. The dogs would certainly enjoy it.
@@azazelgrigori9244 Oh, absolutely! I actually managed to bring my dog on a month-long road trip, and he enjoyed it so much that he wants to go again. Unfortunately there was one hotel that advertised as dog friendly but actually wasn't...
@@vriskafic8ion dude dog bark not just becoz someone is bad, as in video it says if some are anxious, and has fear dogs barks! If someone don't like dog it can also happen
This works for my younger brother Billy too. Interestingly enough, Billy has learned to pick up the signs that his dog picks up on. Thus, a dog teaching a human new tricks.
I have general and social anxiety, dogs sense this and bark at me, it really upsets me that people always assume this means I am a bad person. A lot of animals gravitate towards me as well.
This happened to me last weekend. My brother in laws mother's dog was barking and growling at me, but nobody else. I'm like the nicest guy too..I love dogs. I have no idea why it happened
@@chriso9505 I really think its more complex than people make it out to be, it's definitely not always because we are inherently untrustworthy. We could smell like an animal we crossed paths with perhaps. It always hurts my feelings when animals don't like me lol.
they can react even if you are a little nervous, specially if the owner is not a confident person, or very unstable (people with loudest dogs tends to be the most unstable lol)
What’s crazy is this actually happened to me! My dog and I were going for our daily walk. Typically, when people would walk past, she’d either wanna greet, or just totally ignore the person. This one day, there was a guy passing by us and I noticed my pup sat on my feet (facing away from me) and started growling and not taking her eye off him. The guy was so spooked, he went to the opposite side of the street. I always suspected she did this b/c she detected something and wanted to protect me. Who knows….my pup is prob the reason I was able to return home that night 🤔🥹🥰
As a child had a standard Schnauzer. When there was a perceived threat to myself or my mother He would stand between the 2 arguing or threatened. My PTSD-C/balace Service dog has demonstrated this repeatedly over the last 9 years. Normally friendly calm he also blocks and alerts not only to ppl but also rattles! They are trully man's best friend in ways we are only now understanding. This video is a 😊 Really good explanation on dog behavior.
My since-passed dog, who had no training, used to alert me when my blood sugar was too low. He also used to understand full sentences; I could tell him "go downstairs and get the kids, it's time for dinner", and he'd run down the stairs, bark at the other two dogs, and then they'll all run back up to get fed.
My long passed dog always knew when I was about to have a seizure, and she was never trained. She would start pulling me towards a bench or a high curb/railing, and then sit. She made sure that I could sit before I fell, and that I could use her for leverage. Then she would stand guard over me until she felt like I was safe again. She was sad when I found the right medication to keep my epilepsy under control, because then she didn't have a job to do. I had to start training her to do other things. Australian Shepherds really need to have a job.
I had a dog like that once named gypsy. In the early '80s I found her at a supermarket about to be put down by a sheriff with a shotgun. This was in the South so please understand that this is just the way things were done in the Hills. He was going to put her down because she had figured out the doors and would make mad dashes to the meat section on The Daily. I told him it was my dog. I had her for 2 months before my parents even realized it. She understood anything you said. And she could understand a lot of the things that you spelled, LOL
I used to be a dog sitter. One day a contractor came to give me a quote, and my dog (a trained service animal) and a pitty who was sweeter than sugar both acted aggressive. I didn't hire the guy because of this, and he acted like a crazy person. Trust your dogs, and other people's lol.
The first time I brought my ex to my house, I remember my dog growling at him for no obvious reason. Later on he turned out to be very verbally abusive, which is part of the reason I left him. I guess my dog sensed something I didn't. Very interesting.
Your dog didn't magically analyze your ex's psychological profile, that's just not real. Stop basing your knowledge on pseudo nonsense. The narrator kinda dropped a badly worded message at first, but then he made quite clear that it's body language recognition... something a lot of species constantly use.
Dogs react to behavior and moods, period. There are millions of murderers, rapists, bank robbers, etc. who all have had great relationships with their dogs, cats, parakeets and goldfish etc. People are just really gullible, and will fall for just about anything, often over and over again. 🙄
I found it facinating that my dog got excited to see the dog behind the fence. They only smelled each other and they always excited to say hi. My dog always barked her breed were gaurd dogs. I noticed she had an excited bark and a get away bark. So interesing that they can cummunicate and pick up. My dog always knew how to tell us when she hungry or needed to pee. They are so smart.
Well I don't know about that I do believe that dogs can talk cause I've heard my last dog talk. Maybe that's why I changed my mind on getting a German shepherd are you sure that the owner isn't racist maybe the dog was just acting how the owner acts towards people just saying
I certainly love and appreciate these vids I rescued an American bulldog last June and we have since gone through all sorts of training together including protection training, even tho I never ever really wanted the responsibility of owning a dog, I now feel my dog and I were meant to be, he was abused by his former owner and took me a while to get him to come around but now he hardly ever leaves my side, so yes I rescued him in June 2021 but he rescues me everyday, im so happy hes mine and he will never know abuse again!!!
Most often, they’re correct whether you know the person or not. Some dogs are just unruly, but if you have a loyal and generally well behaved dog, pay attention 🚨
I had my daughter's dog for 8 months when she was deployed. I spoiled him rotten. He always went crazy when I got home from work or went out even for a short time. When she came home from deployment to get him, he went nuts. He was so excited, he even cried. Because she lives near her army base 5 hrs away, I don't see her much. I went to visit about 2 months after she got home and her dog, my baby, wasn't very excited at all to see me. Then just recently, she came here and again, he barely greeted me. I am so sad. I literally fell in love with him and he with me. We were best buds. I really don't understand why he acts so aloof when he is now with his mom.
@@ALLinHerMovements I agree. She just came last week. She left him to go out with some friends and he kept running to the window, then the door 😊 Still love him. I'm glad he is my daughter's baby boy❤
Dogs understand me and I understand them. Owners of violent, protective dogs are amazed when their dogs take to me like an old friend. Even fussy dogs are at ease around me the first time I meet them. I would be a great burglar, but I didn't choose that path. I've had a dog by my side for all of my 56 years. I love them and they know it.
My dad is a wonderful person and he used to be a postman, he was the only postie in his office that was never even growled at by a dog on his deliveries. Animals love him I think it's because they can sense his goodness
Haha same I grew up with no freinds but I had dogs all the time around me and as a result I have also shocked people who said "my dog hates everyone" I find it funny
@@lamppuu1 Not always. I am a very empathic person, and I most always have a great interaction with stranger's dogs. But my Dad's dog hates me whenever I come into the door. I think it is threatened by the way my Dad and I interact. I am not welcome in the dog's home, and the dog is the master of the home. As soon as I sit down and let the dog assert dominance, by getting on my lap, everything goes chill. But the greeting at the door is always the same. The little guy would bite my let off if it was big enough. But I think that's just a Chihuahua thing.

Watching this has taught me a lot surprisingly, I’m more of an indoor introverted kind of guy and I don’t see many dogs or other animals often, and I easily get nervous from being around people I don’t know, it makes me worried that dogs might dislike me or see me as a threat because of my uncomfortableness even though I have no negative intentions. When I do occasionally walk outside past dog owners, none of them have been aggressive to me from what I remember, the only times I remember dogs being aggressive is when our family is walking past peoples houses and they get mad we’re near their house… perhaps they might dislike my mother? She’s the only one that strongly dislikes dogs, and I understand her reasoning for it, it’s because she has bad ears that really hurt when somewhat loud noises happen near her, and unfortunately most dogs will bark not at her from what I can tell but rather at someone else walking by when she’s just trying to just sit down and enjoy a coffee in the morning which hurts her ears, so she is unable to go to her usual cafes or any place that allows dogs… she also has a problem with most dog owners too since whenever she sees them doing the wrong thing, like not picking up droppings or walking them in no dog areas, such as most beaches, they get mad at her and act like she’s the problem… when all she really wants is to feel safe going somewhere to relax without the fear of random sudden barking, I promise she is a kind hearted person who always works too hard for us, and I’d hate for dogs to dislike us due to the various ways we both behave around them.
I would never life without a dog. Just wish they lived longer. We love them as much as humanly possible. Completely and utterly devastated when they pass. Creating a happy life for them is us humans doing our part to the best of our ability

I had a dog once who was hyper sensitive and smart .when I walked him I have to be extra cautious because there are people he meet the opposite way, he stops, then will follow behind them quietly and attempt to bite their leg. Donnie was something but he loved my house guests. He lived until his oldest age his body can. I loved him as my first child and wished the beginnings was better.
Good news. Dogs remember people in several ways for a very long time. But so do many other animals. Octopus for an easy example. Lions as well. I witnessed first hand a wild, never tamed/domesticated octopus come from deeper water all the way to the shoreline just to greet the same person who interacted with the octopus for 3 months two years prior. Also seen several videos on youtube of octopus returning to greet a person who previously interacted with it. Animals of all sort remember tiny details for a long time. Yet here I am off to attempt to locate my car keys. AGAIN.
@@Likexner I don't think its the remembering that people did not understand. I think it had to do with the details of how a dog detects bad vs good people that was surprising. But to be honest, videos like these tend to oversell with their titles in order to try to increase views. People could potentially not be surprised.
Being loved by pets oftentimes feels like a superpower lol It's not like I get approached by dogs and cats out of the blue, but if I try and approach an animal, I really rarely get rejected, even in cases where the owner says "Well, he's not friendly with strangers but you're free to try". The look on their face when they see their dog turn belly up near me lmao That being said, I wouldn't call myself too much of an angel, though I'm not a jerk either. Maybe it's the fact that I used to have pets growing up.
It probably also has to do with attitude. Some people expect to be liked or they're just impatient. So when an animal doesn't show them affection, they get offended. I often greet dogs but only if they seem interested. Often they're not in the mood and just wanna be left alone. If you show them respect and greet them at their own pace, then they will like you most of the time. Growing up with pets definitely helps. I've met dogs jumping at me, while the owner tries to reassure me it doesn't bite. I'm just petting their dog, like i would've done if it was my own. The dogs can likely sense that you're not afraid of them.
To me, it's one of the greatest feelings in the world when I'm at somebody's house and they have a dog that they say "doesn't really like strangers" and said dog then proceeds to crawl into my lap or sit at my feet the entire time.
My dog is basically observing me all the time...she knows ever little micro expression of my face...it's annoying sometimes, because she can read my intent before I even started an action...makes it super hard to give her meds, go to the vet, give her a shower and so on. She is definitely smarter than me!
Your dog loves you so much and you must be doing a great job watching your dog also and understanding it for it to be so into you. Do you involve your dog in a lot of your activities and socialize him a lot with people and talk to it?
Meh.. our dog barks at absolutely *EVERYONE,* and I've met dogs in the past who went nuts on me where the owners said "he never does that" and I had absolutely no ill will at all, and I'm not an angry, mean or deceitful person in any way.
I had a very strong spiritual bond with my dog who passed long ago. We had a psychic connection. He would know when i was about to arrive unannounced and was still a mile away driving. He would know when i would start thinking of leaving without me moving a muscle. We could communicate limited certain things with long and strong eye contact. When he died it ripped my heart out.
I had a dog like that. I could tell her unbelievably complex things and she would understand. She would go get a particular roommate by name among other tricky things, and I never trained anything but "sit"
man same story... on multiple occasions my dog sensed im coming back to my hometown while I was still 10-20 km away. She would ran to front yard and just sit there waiting for me. I didnt believe it at first so my mother took a picture of it. I cant really explain it.

When I was younger we had two dogs. A purebred Husky who I think was 5 or 6, and an older peki-poo. I think she was probably 10 or 11. The peki-poo usually kept to itself and made no fuss. Got along fine. My Aunt got a divorce and was dating a new man and brought him over on a normal visit. Now, most people were intimidated by our Husky because she looked every bit like a wolf with her coat and her steely blue eyes, even when she wasn't looking aggressive. This man thought nothing of our husky because she didn't react to him. The peki-poo instantly ran out to the middle of the floor and started letting out a growl at him, and the guy looked like this was the scariest thing ever. I will never forget his reaction. We thought this was just normal dog seeing a new person reaction. After awhile, the peki-poo would settle down. But, every time this guy came to visit, she'd react in the same way, and he'd have that same reaction. He'd dart back a bit, look startled, and get this weird look on his face. We would later find out that he was doing some bad things to his own 4 year old daughter and my Aunt's daughter who was about 6 or 7 at the time.
So true. My little Maltese knew instantly which people would be kind to me and which wouldn’t. He also knew when I was depressed even though I was putting on a happy face.

And it's the complete opposite when they make you feel like a criminal when you haven't even done anything.

That’s so sad. May she rest in peace. My dog is 2 years old and I am afraid of the day that I will say goodbye to her. Life sucks.
@@sammyh9542 Life is the good part. It's the dying at the end of it that sucks.
Owner scent and memory for dogs is very real. Know those thousands of videos of dogs who went nuts once soldiers returned home from Iraq after a one year tour of deployment?
This is why the dog should see that it’s owner has died and it might seem cruel but it’s the only way the dog will “get over it”
@@jonharrison3114 Dogs don't really understand death like we do.

("AGGREED")
Trump hates dogs. One presumes the feeling is mutual.

This was the last time I got to see him and it still breaks my heart that I couldn't just open the gate and cuddle him in my arms.
awh man this is just so sweet

Other times I'm in a great mood and dogs come up to me and ask for love, and I give it to them.

So I was sick for 15 years before Morgellons

I was close to dying and docs refused to examine me or treat me, just saying I was on ADHDmed and too thin so they thought I was abusing
I was thin bc illness, diarrhea, sweating, vomiting, lack of appetite bc nausea and pain
So the CDC bad doctors and eveeyone on the internet can say I am crazy and morgs not real

There was a cat that was mean to everybody, I came back on leave and was having some major anxiety, I started petting the cat, it didn't have a problem with me
A service animal for PTSD is legally different than an emotional support animal. But yes PTSD service dogs are absolutely amazing.

This is absolutely true!! I lost my best friend in early September but I could 100% tell when we were around someone who could do me harm. I miss her terribly!
Not all dogs can regonize a bad person.🫥
My dog does the same thing to my landlord.
Dogs know.
All animal can see danger it’s common sense
Look at mother polar bears they know as soon as they see a male around what’s the males intentions 👌
Awesome
I totally believe that! Shoot I trust dogs more than people! 😂 Dogs are the best! ❤🐾
My family thinks I'm crazy because I get along with dogs so good but I can just read their energy so well and reciprocate it
The dogs like you! That's a very nice indication that you are a very nice person!
Any dog I see or meet is happy to see me even though I'm a stranger to them. They sense my intense love for them.
I feel the same way, but one hunting dog once almost bit me.
they are tasty too
That sounds like confirmation bias. I don’t like dogs or cats, but they sure love me. If they can sense your love, how is it they cannot sense my lack of love.
The only thing I learned from this video is that you can fool dogs as much as you can fool humans.
😂 bullshit... There's PLENTY of dogs that will take a bite out of your ass for no reason. You people are weird AF with these brash generalizations
So dogs are like people. LOL
Cats are just too cool!

You sound like a typical nut case😂
"He stayed as long as he could." That is such a sweet commemoration of your loving dog.❤
All I know is the next time it happens, I won’t make the same mistake.
your dog said “SMELL THE PEE HOOMAN. THIS ONE IS BAD JUJU”
That’s really interesting. I’ll be paying closer attention to my husky.

Now give a pain pill to him
Our chocolate lab is normally not much of a lap dog.
Whew! 😂😂😂
What happens when your dog is tiny Scrappy Doo and barks at everyone? "Let me at em'! Let me at em'!" lol.

It's sad how few people understand how amazing these animals are. We don't deserve dogs.

Even some terrorists and gangs have their own domesticated dogs... And even the Government officials and Authority have their own domesticated dogs.
Great dog. What breed is a GSD ??
@@vtee361 German Shepherd Dog.
Your dog will feed off your emotions to the extreme. So if you don’t like or care for a particular person, your dog will hate that person.
@@puppyupper4565 Okay then. I guess you told me.
Well, it might be not so bad. I experienced few times when the dogs literally got scared of me as hell. You pass by and think, am... am I baddie?.. They even didn't bark.

I had similar problem in the past.
A quote I saw: "”The Gift Which I Am Sending You Is Called A Dog, & Is In Fact The Most Precious & Valuable Possession Of Mankind.” - Theodorus Gaza."
Shouldn't drug dogs just so they befriend you man, not cool
or maybe he was jealous. Could also be :D

My neighbors' dogs do that to the FEDEX and UPS driver - they give out treats!

What’s crazy is this actually happened to me! My dog and I were going for our daily walk. Typically, when people would walk past, she’d either wanna greet, or just totally ignore the person.
I almost always used complete sentences when talking to my Golden Retriever…..and I swear he understood most of it. He was brilliant.
They have an amazing sense of smell. They must pick up on things like low blood sugar way quicker than we can. Sorry you dog has passed on x

All the people my dog growls at are criminals
The one she ignores arnt good to have around they just leach
The ones she accepts are good
Every time!!
Your dog didn't magically analyze your ex's psychological profile, that's just not real. Stop basing your knowledge on pseudo nonsense. The narrator kinda dropped a badly worded message at first, but then he made quite clear that it's body language recognition... something a lot of species constantly use.
Haha what a stupid way to think how it works
My dog loved my verbally abusive ex. She did growl at him a few times in moments he was being cruel, but then she'd go back to fawning over him.
My dogs would accept treats from the devil in person.....😄
Lol smart dog
😂
Dogs can be trained at the puppy stage , to not eat anything until he does his “work”
This is why I love dogs 😍
Well I don't know about that I do believe that dogs can talk cause I've heard my last dog talk.
Maybe that's why I changed my mind on getting a German shepherd are you sure that the owner isn't racist maybe the dog was just acting how the owner acts towards people just saying
Dogs are ace
@@nosmoking2933 WHAT DID YOU SAID
I certainly love and appreciate these vids I rescued an American bulldog last June and we have since gone through all sorts of training together including protection training, even tho I never ever really wanted the responsibility of owning a dog, I now feel my dog and I were meant to be, he was abused by his former owner and took me a while to get him to come around but now he hardly ever leaves my side, so yes I rescued him in June 2021 but he rescues me everyday, im so happy hes mine and he will never know abuse again!!!
They CAN. It doesn’t mean it’s always correct. Sometimes they’re barking at a random person for reasons we don’t know
Most often, they’re correct whether you know the person or not.
I thinks you took him from your daughter or thinks you will take him again. Sorry about that.
@@ALLinHerMovements I agree. She just came last week. She left him to go out with some friends and he kept running to the window, then the door 😊 Still love him. I'm glad he is my daughter's baby boy❤
It's a stupid dog.... Who cares?
Because you’re not feeding him anymore
When I got back from 9 months away, my aunts dog flipped out spinning and barking like he had won the dog lottery. I ❤ dogs!
Me too! They're my heart fr fr 💕💕
Same! I think they know who are the trustworthy and highly empathetic people. :) When i go for a walk alone, dogs usually want to say hi to me.
@@lamppuu1 I think it means we are good people. A dog can spot a bad person in no time. :)
Simply put - dogs are amazing! Honored to have them in my life.
A lot of folks knew a long time ago to trust their fur babies. Both of my girls know when I'm in a lot of pain or when my heart is about to go into AFIB, my bigger girl has now 7 time's hit my chest hard enough and center to get my heart to start back if it stops when I'm sleeping. She has no type of professional training to do this.
That's amazing. They are angels
I hate the words fur babies lmao

PEOPLE ARE FUCKING IDIOTS…!!
They give us everything they have and then take a piece of our heart with them when they go. Remembered in smiles, missing them in tears.
@@wendybutler1681 I'm actually at the vet now with my little girl. She's been throwing up all night. It's a kind message to read during this stressful time for us. I didn't want to take any chances so I brought her to the ER clinic. Only thing open on Sunday

My beautiful boy Merlin who recently passed. 💖

My husky Martin Scorsese.
My german shepherd. One and only love
@Dennis me too but the kind of breed I want is a Yorkshire terrier
Just wanted to comment that adopting my pup Duke, who is now in his twilight years, 😭, has been the only good decision that I’ve made in my adult life.
I love you Duke!!!
AGAIN.
So do crows!
Lucky him lmao
I dont get it, is it a surprise to people that dogs remember people? I thought everyone knew that.
@@Likexner
I don't think its the remembering that people did not understand. I think it had to do with the details of how a dog detects bad vs good people that was surprising.
But to be honest, videos like these tend to oversell with their titles in order to try to increase views.
People could potentially not be surprised.
Except cats. Cats DGAF.
Being loved by pets oftentimes feels like a superpower lol
It's not like I get approached by dogs and cats out of the blue, but if I try and approach an animal, I really rarely get rejected, even in cases where the owner says "Well, he's not friendly with strangers but you're free to try". The look on their face when they see their dog turn belly up near me lmao
That being said, I wouldn't call myself too much of an angel, though I'm not a jerk either.
Same
Maybe because you’re calmer around them then most
I seem to be well liked/loved by Birds, but dogs don't seem to like me too much....
What kind of dog?
Is your dog a Border Collie?
Great video. Very educational and informative.
Never trust someone your dog doesn't like. They're better judges of character than you.
So true
From this statement all I've deduced is you have poor judgment 😄 🤣
Meh.. our dog barks at absolutely *EVERYONE,* and I've met dogs in the past who went nuts on me where the owners said "he never does that" and I had absolutely no ill will at all, and I'm not an angry, mean or deceitful person in any way.
Never trust a human that has a dog that barks at you. It goes both ways.
Tell that to the civil rights protesters were attacked by dogs… I guess they were bad people
Don’t forget that dogs are the greatest comedians. They make you laugh instantly.
Dogs actually know your schedule, not really special but still amazing
I had a dog like that. I could tell her unbelievably complex things and she would understand. She would go get a particular roommate by name among other tricky things, and I never trained anything but "sit"
@@stevescuba1978 i know what you mean 👍
man same story... on multiple occasions my dog sensed im coming back to my hometown while I was still 10-20 km away. She would ran to front yard and just sit there waiting for me. I didnt believe it at first so my mother took a picture of it. I cant really explain it.
@@matejvulic4367 Its funny how there is no mention of it here lol. Its a psychic ability some of us have. Ive had it my whole life. It amplifies when im around others that have it too. As a person who got attacked by a dog when I was 7 years old,in my opinion I think it's 76 % fake that a dog can detect a bad person and a innocnet person. :/

That's cute. My dog definitely knew the difference.
