This goes into the odd comments but your voice is calming to this stressed out girl. Plus you are clear and to the point and you don't go on and on about one step. As alot of videos tend to do is go on for 5 minutes on one step and so on and so on. Calm, clear, quick, and on point. Thank you.
This is such a beautiful project that I had to give it a shot. It got me back into knitting, and my friend who's 8 months along will get a baby blanket for her precious baby. This was easy to follow and fun to do. Thank you so much!
Love how clear you made all your movements with the yarn, normally i have to rewatch other peoples videos the see what they have done, but very easy and very calming as knitting should be thank you
One of the best knitting videos I've seen! very clear and simple! Starting soon on my first baby's blanket so wish me good luck 😄👍🏼 Update: took me 8 months to finish it but I did (my deadline was before my son's birth) 2 months late but finished it anyway and very proud of myself. 😎 Can't thank you enough for this very helpful and great video. 🥰👍🏼💜
A tip when you're casting off, slip each stitch over the needle in the purl fashion....so much easier than the method shown here where she had to use her fingers, so awkward I wanted to grab the needles myself😉
ty this is my 1st project i am knitting and you made this extremely clear and simple and now i can knit. i did cheat casting on cuz i had a small crochet hook and it helped greatly
If you want to cast off without the stress of dropped stitches, slip your left needle through the right stitch from the left side rather than the right and keep a firm tension on your yarn while lifting the needle (and the accompanying stitch) over the left stitch and gently slipping it off the needle. It will also give you a nice clean edge.
Do you always start with a knit? Or does it alternate? Can I confirm, it’s only the first row you really have to concentrate if you are knit or pearl? As then you can see you what you are meant to be doing? Any tips on keeping track?
I love how the baby blanket turned out! I think it's the best pattern on UA-cam. I was so motivated by this video, so I bought myself needles and the yarn should comes the very next days. One thing I noticed too late on the yarn, that it says: Recommended needle: 3,5 - 4 mm. So.. in this case should I use 4 or 5 mm as in the video? Thank you so much!!
Hi there! I just came across this and would love to knit a blanket for my grandson-to-be! Is the link to the pattern still available? I can't seem to find any clickable link. Thanks!
oh my, thank you so much, you literally just taught me how to knit, took me 15mins to cast on right with six tries but ive finally got the hang of it ha ha
I’m onto my 4th row doenst half kill my wrists. I’m gonna stick to 2-3 rows a day and hopefully I’ll be done in a few months or less it needs to be done by March for sure
It’s a *great* idea to knit a blanket and send it to Australia. We are 5 days into 2020 and half of the country is burning down. Half a billion animals have tragically died, and blankets are being accepted for the animals that barely managed to escape but got sent to veterinary centres.
Won’t it come undone once you use the needle to thread the yarn through the blanket to get rid of the tiny piece since you just cut it at the end? Or is there a better way to keep it staying in better condition without that tiny bit at the end and the possiblilry of it coming out?
Yr answer not understanding. I hv asked how many stitches for a 2 yr old baby to be casted? and in between in yr video towards the end u hv shown to do purle stitch knit and knit stitch purle. That particular row till how long to be knitted before casting of.? Kindly clarify?
Hi! I love this pattern and am currently following it to make a baby blanket for my friend. I just have a quick question. What kind of join do you recommend using cotton yarn? I have had projects in the past where my joins from adding in a new skein completely unravel, and I don’t want that to happen this time. I’ve never used cotton yarn before so I would love any tips or advice! Thank you!!
I'd like to make this for the new baby and another for the 3 year old sibling. How many stitches should I use for the 3 year old and how long should I make it?
Someone help me , anyone willing to do a video chat ? I've tried and I've tried and tried. I can't get past the second part. Or the second stitch when she brings the second needle in , I bring the yarn over the way she does and after that I can't seem to do it correctly to get that actual second stitch
Lauren, I don’t know if this helps, but you’re basically just doing knit, purl, knit, purl etc. then on a new row, you knit the purl stitches and purl the knit stitches. So the opposite of when you do ribbing, which is knit on knit and purl on purl. I find it very easy to go wrong with moss stitch, especially when you get distracted by rugrats, but it is lovely when it’s done properly. I’m actually making dishcloths at the moment using this stitch which is good practice because it’s much smaller and it doesn’t matter if I go wrong. Good luck if you give it another try 😊
Hi your video really helped me a lot, just there is one question that instead of knitting one and purling one can we do like knit one while row and then purl one whole row, will it give the same pattern as yours. Please do let me know thanku
Great pattern! I just started knitting this using a very pastel multicolor baby yarn and it's turning out so beautiful 😍 Question.. does the last stitch on each row alternate between a knit and a purl or should it always be a purl?
Hey there! For the moss stitch, you need to Knit one stitch, then purl one stitch, repeat these two stitches until you have one stitch left of your row, knit the last stitch.
Hi, can someone explain where I am going wrong. Once I start my 2nd row (Knitting & Purling) it becomes so tight that I can’t evennmove my stitches on the needle. The first row (casting on) is perfect, its just the 2nd row
When you pull of the loop from the other needle and slightly tug on the right needle, make sure the current loop on the right is tightened lower down and not near the tip of the needle. This ensures that your loops anre closer to the width of the majority of the needle and not the tip. Does that make sense?
I don’t know what went wrong but I now have two different designs in this one blanket 😀 let’s not forget the two holes I also made. I think I should just give up on knitting 😭
Can u pls let me know for a 2 yr baby boy, how many stitches do i need to cast on? Indian needle no. for the blanket? and what should be the length for 2 yr old baby boy? In between in yr video u hv shown purl stitch to be knitted knit and knit stitch purl, that exercise should be done for how long? When to cast off etc...yr valuable reply stepwise to my questions will be appreciated...Neeraja
I am so confused here, I've tried this several times. There are an odd number of stitches, so you continue K1, P1, K1 every row, but she's slipping the first stitch and then following with a knit stitch not pearl.. does this throw of the even/odd number of stitches??
Hello ! great video! do you know more or less how many rows are 60 cm? Just to have an idea ! and also until which age can the blanket be used ? thanks!
This is so pretty. Does it have to be 109 stitches? If I wanted to do a smaller one, what multiple of stitches should I have, does it just need to be an odd number?

Looks like the link to the pattern is missing from the description? Can you please provide? Thank you!

You can leave a longer tail to weave in your ends to be sure your blanket does not unravel :)
Hi there sorry but where is the link for the pattern? Only seeing links to knitting needles or wool..
Thanks
This a great video but does anyone know what ply the wool is?
Is there a reason you have to do 109 slips? Can you do more than that to make the blanket wider?

There's a comment saying you need to cast on 110 stitches to allow for the first slipped stitch.

Yes, you can use circular needles and it probably is better to do that as it’s so big 😊

Yes of course :) The blanket will then be a simple garter stitch instead, so the texture will be different but it'll look just as lovely
