HEALTH UPDATE: Feeling almost normal again. Just need to get back in shape after being down for three months. Apparently, my anemia was caused by too much chemo (which I take every day for a blood condition - Essential Thrombocythemia). My doctor was trying to get my platelets down within normal range and pushed the chemo a bit too far. At least, that's what it looks like for now. Still need to get my various slipped disks taken care of (from a car accident last year), but my insurance is making that a pain in the ass. #universalhealthcareforall
Thanks so much to all of you who wished me well and threw some empathy my way. It really did help boost my spirits - and at a really bad time when I needed it most. Blessings and indulgences for everyone!!!

You've almost got it, Mike. Trouble is there are places you won't look. Like, what if your god is just a fictional character in a book written by ancient barbarians. Where you seem to be wrong is in having been convinced that those people wrote on behalf of any god. But you just won't look THERE.

    • @bernielomax3635

Quantum physics proves God, in the following way:
At the deepest level of the sub-atomic, the laws of physics break down, and thought influences matter. It is now known that at the ultimate level, ALL is thought. The Holy Bible says the same, since God is the Divine Mind. Non-Biblical sources also say this, as "The Sophia of Jesus Christ", and "The Gospel of Thomas" both identify God as the Divine Mind. Also, "The Divine Pymander of Hermes" is a book which Moses surely would have learned from in the Egyptian mystery school, and it clearly identifies God as Divine Mind. HOW ELSE can this perfectly fine-tuned universe exist, with all of us conscious living things? If you examine the TRUTH of it all, the Mind is for a man like the flower at the top of the stalk. The whole plant exists to bring forth that flower, and so it is with men and animals, the whole body exists to bring forth that mind to govern it. According to science, neither matter nor energy can be created or destroyed, but only changed. Is your conscious mind matter or energy? In either case, it persists forever in one form or another. Biophotonics is a relatively new field of science, but it has shown clearly that DNA produces light, and that every cell of every living body is glowing just below our visual threshold. When anything dies, this light leaves the body but stays near it for up to 30 days, keeping all the information of the DNA in a holographic form. This is real science, proven in laboratory experiments. There are many books on the subject of Biophotonics, and I think it's a great place to look for the concept of the "soul".
Anyway, while it's possible to prove something exists, it is impossible to prove something does not exist. According to quantum physics, everything that can exist does exist somewhere, and since literally anything at all is possible, there absolutely MUST be a God who is outside space-time, a transcendent first cause of everything, a source of atomic motion and the origin of the universe(s).

When a person gets religion, critical thinking goes out the window. As we said in Church, "Lean not on your own understanding, but trust in the Lord with all thine heart."' Religions, like cults, discourage us from thinking and encourage faith in the doctrines and dogmas of the religion. All religions strike out against reasoning, unless of course, it leads you to conclude that the religious text is correct. That's the one bit of reasoning they encourage.

The adage, “God doesn’t send people to Hell; they send themselves,” sets the tone for a culture of victim blaming. “She shouldn’t have dressed like that.” “They shouldn’t have been in that area.” “They should’ve known better.” All these remove responsibility from the perpetrators, as if it is in their unchangeable nature, and make the victim culpable for their own misfortune.
The more accurate adage would be, “Be careful, God is a wicked, evil monster who has set an inescapable trap for humanity, and will gleefully torture you for eternity for not telling him you love him- cuz he loves you enough to set the trap.”

"The adage, “God doesn’t send people to Hell; they send themselves,” sets the tone for a culture of victim blaming. "
If you check the comments for the other part of this one part series, you will see they can't explain what are the wrong choices I am making to send myself to hell. It's not even a case of "they shouldn't have been in that area," it's .... I don't know what.
"You choose to go to hell."
"Oh really? What choices am I making that I could differently to avoid going to hell?"
"I don't know, but everyone's a sinner, and that means you, too"
How can I avoid sending myself to hell if I don't know what I am doing to send myself there in the first place?
Of course, the real answer is, "You don't believe in God"
IOW, it's all a big song and dance to avoid admitting that the person thinks I should go to an eternity in hell because I don't believe in God. That's what it is all about in the end.

    • @bernielomax3635

Your God is indeed an evil being, I cannot imagine having such a base and low understanding of transcendent things. God is only good, and the world is only evil. Men are only evil, and not good. Therefore, how can you understand "good" when you have never truly seen or known it?
God doesn't send people to hell, He gives Free Will, and if you choose to stay separate from Him, God is not a cosmic rapist who will force His love on you, He will simply separate Himself from you. With that separation goes Goodness, Mercy, Love, Happiness, Comfort, Peace, and all other "good" things of which He is the source. The misery and eternal sadness you feel afterward is the natural result of your own decision. Blame God more, surely that's the answer...

We know what good and evil are. That's why decent people are repulsed by genocide, slavery, homophobia, etc. I see this passage as a warning that an evil god lies in the pages that follow. Some very early sects of Christianity believed that Yahweh was Satan, whom Jesus came to save us from.

Naturally the scattered and shattered Jewish nation (whose rebellion against Rome had led to that massive series of defeats and the destruction of the temple) were POSITIVE that the volcanic eruptions and destruction were a judgment from 'god', and would therefore celebrate that supposed divine punishment.

In what universe can one see what one’s leader espouses and enacts, recognize that every faculty is telling you that it’s evil, and then get a pass for doing the leader’s dirty work because, “well, they’re the leader”…?
Every order of God’s which you carry out and every act of God which you defend you do so because the merits are apparent to you personally and appeal to you personally. This is because you are either yourself malignant and misanthropic, or else you just don’t really give a shit what happens to people. But you won’t admit to either of those positions because it’s hard to convince people to float your boat while admitting that people generally are merely a means to your ends - and you dare not try to make your living honestly. Sounds like cowardice to me.

Do you consider Charles Manson moral? Stalin? Reagan? Any wealthy person. Racists? Bigots? Modi? The list is mind boggling big. Are each of them living morally? Each of them is right? Think beyond your nose. When you die, can someone remove your heart and see what's written there. We chose our morality. And sadly theists are the least moral. Just review every religion on the planet. They prove it. And that comes from your god?

First off, glad you're feeling towards better. We would like you around for a while longer, probably for selfish reasons.
Second. Hearing these folks say things like trust god and ignore your conscience, or that it will all make perfect sense one day, even though it makes NO sense now feels like an absolute insult to their own mythology.
There were two trees in Eden that were named. One, granted eternal life, which makes no sense if creation was perfect and did not know death. The other, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, makes complete sense for a divine being that wanted his creation to choose to love and worship it, but that was the tree man was forbidden to touch on the pain of death.
When I was still a believer, this always felt like a cruel setup by god. But now we have these people of questionable ethics and morality trying to give their god a pass on eternal torment by their all loving and merciful god by pulling the 'we just can't understand god' excuse. The hell we can't. The entire point of the damn tree was that if we ate from it, we would be able to see things as god does and discern good from evil.
Sounds like the tree, in fact, gave us the ability to do just that. And when we look at the god of the Bible, it becomes apparent that this god at least does evil things on the regular. That it is part of this god's 'plan' is irrelevant.
We are just calling it like we see it, the exact purpose for the tree put into that garden by god. We were commanded to not touch it because god knew that if we did, we would see he/she/it for the cruel and evil being it was.
The entire story makes no sense.
Love you and your work B.
