- A CNN team visited Botham Shem Jean's apartment, where a small memorial of flowers and a photo with his mother adorn the front door after the 26-year-old was allegedly shot by an off-duty Dallas police officer.
1. She ended her shift & returned to the CORRECT police department
2. She clocked out using the CORRECT time clock
3. She retrieved her CORRECT belongings from the CORRECT locker
4. She went to the CORRECT parking lot & retrieved her CORRECT car using the CORRECT set of keys
5. She then drove .2 miles on the CORRECT side of the street using CORRECT hand & eye coordination & observing all CORRECT traffic laws
6. She turns her car into the CORRECT apt building............ Wait For It....NEXT IS WHERE THEY WANT US TO BELIEVE AN ACUTE ONSET OF BLINDNESS & AMMESIA TOOK PLACE
7. She is now CONFUSED & parks on the WRONG garage floor on the WRONG side of the building
8.She gets out of the CORRECT car & locks the doors with the CORRECT keys & takes her CORRECT personal belongings.
9. She takes the stairs &/or elevator to the WRONG FLOOR
10. With her eyes open (The same ones used in the preceeding events & she used all day) She walks to the WRONG apt door
11. At this door is a RED DOORMAT that she has never seen before & located on the side of the door is where the apt number can be visualized( Sorry I forgot she went blind)
12. According to different reports she either A. Bangs & yells on the WRONG door because her CORRECT keys won't open the WRONG door & Mr. Botham answers the door & is shot.
B. Stated WRONG door was UNLOCKED & she enters the WRONG dark apt and SUDDENLY REGAINS HER SIGHT & sees an unknown male & fires her police issued weapon at suspect striking him in the chest
13. At this point she turns on the light & realizes she is in the WRONG APT & shot the WRONG PERSON
14. She regains her vision & calls 911 (It has not been reported that she began CPR on Mr. Bonham)
15. EMS & police arrive in 4 minutes and per a video taken by a tenant & posted on social media said officer can be seen pacing hallways & talking on phone (family? lawyer?)
16. EMS is seen providing CPR to Mr. Bonham who is subsequently taken to & pronounced dead at a local Dallas Hospital
17. Officer sleeps in a comfortable bed & remains free without charges for 3 days because this has been described to the public as " A VERY SPECIAL CASE" 18. Mr. Bontham is placed on a cold slab in the coroner's morgue as his family flys thousands of miles from St. Lucia to identify their beloved son & brother's body
19. 72 hrs later officer is charged with manslaughter in the death of Mr. Bonham & posts 10% of the $300K bail is back home with her family
20. Mr. Bonham's family prepares to bury him on Thursday.

Either she fired into a dark room (this is a major error; it is basic gun safety to always lock on to your target before even putting your finger on the trigger) or there was enough light to make out that it wasn't her apartment. I think she tried to claim the light of the hallway flooded in and she had tunnel vision - it's ultimately irrelevant. To fail so thoroughly in situational awareness is criminal negligence, not only in the moments where she approached the apartment and didn't notice the smell of marijuana or doormat, but in those critical seconds just before opening fire. Wholly aside from her troubling behavior afterwards (lack of proper remorse compared to worry over her employment, the long delay in calling 911) and her failure to engage conceal and cover protocol as a first response, she should have scanned the room if she suspected a break in, checking for accomplices. She absolutely would have had time as the victim was standing up (another clue something was off; burglars don't typically make themselves comfortable). That 1-second glance would have been sufficient to allow her to recognize she was in the wrong location. She also admits she shot to kill.

This has got to be one of the saddest stories I’ve ever heard. Promising young black man never caused anyone trouble and gets shot down by a cop who’s having an affair with her married partner. I moved out of Texas after living there 30 yrs. Wish the last Police Chief didn't retire. This would be handles so differently if he were still there. ( I am so bad with remembering names, but he was awesome. The only other good one retired and went back to Arizona.) Lived in Balch Springs for about 5 yrs. They have always been corrupt and protected a child raping business owner and his sons. I pray for this innocent man's family and that God will carry them through this nightmare.

B.S.! If you drove your car to the wrong floor of the parking garage, when you go to the door, to exit the garage, the floor you are on is right by the door. I believe she was at the right apartment. Before I found out about the noise complaint about his apartment, my theory was that Amber and Mr. Jean had a confrontation of some kind, Amber still being angry about this, decides to come home, still in her uniform with gun strapped to her side, to confront him face to face. He was supposed to respect her authority because she had her uniform on, so she started banging on his door saying, "let me in!" The door was not ajar, witnesses heard her banging on his door, and if you thought it was your apartment, why are you banging on the door? Why don't you use your key? If you thought you were getting robbed, why didn't you call for back up? Why didn't you say freeze, police? I will tell you why, she knew exactly where she was, she was there to confront him about the noise or whatever, Botham, opened up the door, to let her in, and she shot him and now she is lying about the whole incident. Botham was in his home, why wasn't her apartment and car searched, she is the murderer?! And the weed was hers! Come to think about it, we never did get that toxicology report on her, did we! P. S. I wouldn't go as far as to say that the police officer is evil, but she is not a nice person either and I say this because her story keeps on changing which means that she is lying. Also, she hasn't tried to reach out to the family or made any public statements saying how sorrow she feels about what happened. It doesn't incriminate her to tell the family through her lawyer or on social media that she is sorry for what happened and that she feels awful about having taken Botham's life, but she hasn't said anything.
