      Just make sure to use lexan and not plexiglass. The plexiglass cracked way too easy

    Dude nice! I’m so glad I saw this video. I just got a car for my kid and the sunroof is missing so I’m gonna do this to it.

    in my personal experience, this will leak water, some how moisture will get through and water will get condensed at the bottom of this panel. Anyway, i hope this will not happened to everyone though lol.

      blue sky it’s for a garage kept car, not something that stays outside in the rain all the time

    I did this before seeing the video used the same thickness and in a week of summer heat it warped, and cracked and leaked water. Im not doing it again. But i bought 1/4" this time.

      Vq_Skunk1320 it’s not lol, cracked shortly after and I should have sealed it after installing so it would look nicer. Will be redoing it in a few weeks with lexan and will make a new video on it

    Wouldn’t polycarbonate be better to use?

    • @Teysik
      @Teysik  4 роки тому

      Absolutely. I was being cheap, the plexi ended up cracking. I would definitely use lexan next time or at least much thicker plexi

    I'm planning on using 1/4" smoked plexiglass wondering if you have any suggestions I'm worried about leaks. Any suggestions would be well appreciated

    • @Teysik
      @Teysik  4 роки тому +3

      Joshua Flores go with lexan, the plexiglass didn’t work so well. Put the lexan down first and then run a bead of silicone around, the outside, it’ll look a lot better. Use rubber washers between rivet and lexan to seal the rivet holes

    How thick of plexiglass do you suggest I use

    • @Teysik
      @Teysik  5 років тому +2

      I suggest using lexan, the plexi cracked. And use somewhere around 1/4 inch thick

    I was going to do this for my dad and told him "i'll get to it sooner or later" some time later he's crying about how water is falling in the car and I ask him ok where is the lexan? He said he returned it...because it was too expensive...30 bucks... too expensive...now his insides of his car is messed up...such a stupid man...
