We took a two day trip to the Island of Socorro where my Filipina wife was born. She left the island at the age of eight and has never returned until this trip. It was an amazing trip and we showed up during their yearly fiesta. It was fun to meet all of her relatives and enjoy the local traditions and see the smiling faces of the locals. All I can say is ..we shall return in the future.
In the eastern part of the Bucas Grande Island lies the municipality of Socorro. Its people are vigorous and hard working. The main products of this town are coconut and rice. Its people are chiefly dependent on these products and on fishing for their livelihood.

My wife came to the US to live with me in 2012 and we decided a couple of years later to retire here and build a house on her property. Although she loved the US her heart was back in the province. Best move I ever made. Turned 62 and I was out of there. We have mangroves from the edge of our backyard to the sea
best caregiver you will live long with her romance.
Not overrun by tourists. Not over-developed. Not overcrowded. No smog, traffic, or lines of jeepneys/trikes spewing exhaust. Philippine dreams indeed.

Brian and family, You are blessed to be in one of those most special spots in the world with your family living what we all crave to see. As soon as this house sells I am out of here for good. I will make a life there and want to know that part of the world. Ever since I grew up living between two Filipino families and their stories of how lovely it is there and at that time learning Tagalog from them I knew I was bound to be there even though I started 10 years ago between COVID deaths divorced and health issues lifes moments now at 64 I am going to there live the rest of what time I have. Good thing the family has longevity in the late 90's even with health issues. I can be happy even if it's a struggle. I have watched your channel for as long as I heard of you by Philo. you and your family be safe and God bless you.

That's the best decorated fiesta I have ever seen in the Phils hands down, and did you notice that basketball court? It looked like it had a wooden floor, and I have never seen that with an outdoor court in the Phils. That barangay must be very prosperous for some reason.
That was the nicest basketball court I have seen in the Philippines.

When it comes to humidity in the Philippines, is there a big difference between the humidity in the islands compared to the cities? How about comparing humidity in Manila, Cebu, Davao and other big cities in the Philippines?
I really can't do a comparison yet as I have not been living in the province for a full year. I have noticed that in the province the humidity is low compared to living in Angeles City and there always seems to be a nice breeze in the air.
You're much better off away from Angeles city it's the worst place in the Philippines
I've sold my house and also moved out of that place it's just a Chinese and Korean vacation place now leave it to them.
