I know the original Street Fighter II still has the most iconic voices that sound the best, I mostly prefer Super Street Fighter II since it gives the characters a personality voice which suits them well.
That's a very herd mentality opinion there. Everybody and their sister says CPS One hit sounds are better and there's no factual basis for that. People just like the old style better because let's face it CPS One SF2 was out for years and that's the childhood memories everybody like so of course they're going to say that vers better by default. You're not saying anything that's particularly original or new or even thoughtful so I don't even really care what you think is absolute fact. Get an opinion that is unique and has some actual thought behind it okay Because in fact I really don't like the CPS One hit sound effects or voice actors much at all. They're not terrible, they were cool for what they were but actually like the hit sound effects much better in CPS2. Of course you're not going to tell a bunch of classic arcade fanboys that they're wrong, I'm one in the $200 million people in the entire world that actually have a different opinion so of course if I was the room with all of y'all I would get shouted down so loud so hard and so fast I probably just collapse. That's how it is on social media man If there's that one person who just disagrees for legitimate reasons, everybody's got to shout them down. And I anticipate there will be at least 30 comments within a week telling me how wrong I am because how dare I have a different opinion 😡😡😡
@@godfist314 What does it matter if the opinion is not new or orignal? Why would I lie to myself and force an opinion that is "unique" instead of just going with what I like? If that's your mindset you're nothing more than a contrarian. There's no "factual basis" for anything like this. It's all subjective. But most people who prefer the CPS1 sounds will say they are louder, fiercer, "like a gunshot", so yes, there is a consensus and some logic and thought to that opinion.
Back in the SNES days when I played Street Fighter II Turbo, I legit thought E. Honda was grunting "Hoot Hoyt," due to how badly garbled the voice clips were, since they were compressed for a 16 bit format. It wasn't until much later in life (around 2002 when I came around to playing Capcom vs. SNK 2), when I heard what E. Honda was actually saying when he would do the super headbutt: "Dosu-Koi!" To this day, I still catch myself grunting "Hoot Hoyt" when either seeing E. Honda artwork or actually taking a wide-legged stance during yardwork.
Fun fact: all street fighter 2 characters voices were provided by erichan nakamura (a trans-gender voice artist Who provided like i said all male and female voices) she also speak english just like you heard in the cammy's voice clips. what do you think about It?
It’s kinda split. Though I think the newer ones are better are better on most of the cast members that actually got new voice clips, except Guile of course.
Hell no, Ken didn’t even have his own voice and all the male characters shared a lot of voice clips. The new ones actually gave everyone a personality. Only Guile was worse
I prefer Chun-Li's new voice (mostly just because she makes more than one sound), and Ken, Zangief, Bison, Bison (Us Version), and E. Honda work, but Sagat sound sworse overall and poor fucking Guile.
I think the perfect marriage would be CPS1 sound effects and music with CPS2 voices except for the announcer doing Guile and Sagat's special moves. Those can be the CPS1 announcer. Would have to make maybe a few other tweaks here and there plus use the CPS2 music for the new challengers (I know they went back and did CPS1 versions for the anniversary edition but they are not really better so would stick with the much more familiar versions)
