Fern, my white Boxer dog, is an accredited service dog under the 1992 DD act. She holds special access rights to be allowed to enter places most dogs cannot. This includes National Parks such as Chiltern Mt Piolet NP where Reedy Creek is located. Unless your dog is an accredited service animal they are not allowed to enter NP.

Another fine day on the creek Chris!! As I have said before this spot is just overwhelming with the number and size of crevices that you have to dig out! I was thinking after watching this.....do you have any pics/vids of this creek when it is flooding? I imagine when it is full of water raging over the rocks it is pretty impressive! Australia is on my bucket list with a bunch of others, so hopefully one day I can come to the creek with you! Dream big I always say!
Jeff Nicol the flood waters hit 12-18 foot in that creek. I actually cut that bit from the video.
I bought a very cheap, small dustpan and brush, the pan is maybe 6" across. I keep them in my musette bag, along with my crevice tools, chisels, and hammers. They really make cleaning up the fine stuff easy, and I don'd lose the flour gold. I also have a slide hammer for busting open the cracks & rocks easier.

So I thought I'd ask you as you are pretty local to the area, whats the go with the Buckland and Ovens river, the local shire says pan away, and yet the state government has it on the excluded list lol.

If you read it every creek and river system in the state is on it including popular one such as Reedy and Slaty. So have at it.

Problem I have is, that was the original intention of the law, but so many people interpretations are different and if you read it as it is written it looks like its banned, since the locals are more than happy with me to do it, I didn't think it would be a problem.

If the one you asked tells only the truth then that path he points to leads to the village as the other is lying and looking for lunch.
If the one you asked is the liar then that same path points to the village (as the other would be indicating the safe path in reality and the liar changed it).

When I`m in fractured rock I use a tempered truck leaf spring works great .
You need a goldhog pan to just pan the shit out of buckets in minutes. The goldclaw loses gold very easily, trust me I have the set and tested with a safety pan, I spent about a half hour with both creators to show me how to pan various types of dirt and that thing loses small gold like crazy.

I've also tested the pan into another safety pan on several occasions. I feel as if the method shown by both the creators and most of the public on the Gold Claw pans is flawed, this is how you lose gold.
The motion should come from the wrists. Most people start at the shoulders.
This motion is to aggressive and it floats the gold over the riffles. Its hard to explain but from the wrists you gain a flicking motion and this keeps the heaveys at the bottom.
As soon as you tilt to fast, overload the pan or shake to hard you will lose gold, but that could be said for most pans.
