That was super enjoyable 🙂 Just wanted to encourage you to check higher on that bedrock. Most people hot the super obvious crevices and complete ignore high crevices. Also you need to take a small stiff bristle brush, makes getting the last of the material super easy.
Most of my life I've walked in rivers and streams. As soon as I saw that there were no more rocks you could step on, I saw the beautiful green color on the surface of the rocks underwater and thought to myself " Oh no Shane.. There won't be any footing - " And you slipped. I feel your pain brother. I hope you didnt hurt your back on the reflex. Good to see you out there getting some Colorado gold!
I took too much confidence in the sand. I Super glued to the Bottom of my wader boots. They never failed before, and usually work 10x better than carpet pieces glued there.
I have been watching all your videos for about 6 months now, and just thought you might like to know how entertaining they all are. and as an old man, who can no longer do much of anything physical, your exploits make me laugh (especially you taking a bath in this video which no one could plan to be that funny...it would have been me 50 years ago..lol) Never panned for gold but did do quite a bit of metal detecting years ago when White's detectors first came out. Nothing of note, but sure made a little girl happy digging up old coins in a park. Again thanks for the hours of entertainment and please keep those videos coming!
I lived in Colorado from 1970 until 1972. I can't believe you were into a river in November. I recall that most of that water is VERY cold! But thanks for sharing this with we non-panners!
Panning out paydirt you buy is one thing, but digging the dirt yourself, well, I would be far happier getting what you did today doing it all yourself. I look forward to more of these videos, I was stuck on just your GPAH vids before. 👍🏻
Hey Klesh! I think I've been watching you for 2 or 3 years at this point, I came in at GPAH number 7 or something, I feel it's been awhile! I just got engaged and me and my fiance bought 2 paydirts to do together. I've been wanting to gold pan forever and I'm so glad you have the dirt for sale now! I can't wait to have a Klesh gold date night. Thanks Klesh!!!!!!
Great video, brings back memories of when I was an underwater dredger for my Father at his claims in the Brooks Range in Northern Alaska, 145 miles above the arctic circle
Before you went to step in, I thought oh no. It’s tough trying to film and carry equipment across the creek at the same time. Bummer on losing your arbor classifier I picked up a couple of them but haven’t been able to try them out yet. But I hear once you do you never want to go back to the old way. Nice amount of gold you got out of those crevices. Thanks for sharing it with us in spite of the spills and losses oh it was still a good video see you on the next one. P.s. Colter young has some great inventions he’s a genius just like Alan Robertson (UA-cam) The inventor of the all in one hobby miner sluice box. With reversible silicone mats ( no classification necessary with enough water flow and the grizzly Mat just shovel and watch the rocks roll off and the gold pile up😍) He also invented a small head detector stand that I purchased it keeps my GM 1000 from rolling over when I said it down to run the scoop across it. Worth every penny. I’d like to see you in Arizona on lynx Creek for your next video😂😂 (I could tell you where and let you borrow my classifier😬)
Bacon and eggs, breakfast of prospectors. Speaking of prospecting, bummer about your classifier. The river givith, and the river takith... Now, about that swimming in Clear Cr. in November... Dude, I been there to that same area. The water is cold in July... I hope you don't get sick from that... and if look look at the rocks that are cover with the rock mess down before the first tunnel, the is an Indian head carved out of the rock... look for it next time you go up there...✌
I got this really cool portable vaccume that helps clean them crevises. Got it on amazon for $100 with the charger. Likely won't work long if you take it swimming though...
I made a special "Gas powered portable bucket vacuum" specifically for projects like this a few years ago. Unfortunately It's too heavy to carry across the water..i made a video of the construction of that vacuum if you're interested.
Good video keeping the content of problems that arise is good. Also how to find in hard spots. Note for your viewers. Spring run off snow melting that water moves alot faster. August September are dry months. Enjoy the video.
Nice vid shane. Next I'd like to see you return and do another vid from the NE Vic Australia . Loved the last one you did here and have been working that little creek that Chris took you to it's a great spot. 👍
My kids and I watch your videos every day. We don't have much money, but one day I will buy some of your paydirt. Its the only thing my kids and i all enjoy doing together, watching your videos that is. I can't wait until the day we get to actually pan for gold! We subscribed to your channel.
Email me your address kleshkrums@gmail.com I want to send you a sticker at least, also thanks for watching and happy thanksgiving (if you’re in the US!)
Excellent speck count Shane great job crevicing! And also being a new prospector I appreciate you showing us things don't always go as planned, even for more experienced folks!
Good stuff bro, love Clear Creek so much, always peaceful out there! I'll possibly be back from overseas this December, if its not too snowy lets link up and go hit it! I'll be back in Golden for a few months
You are very fortunate to live in a state where there are lots of places to prospect. In GA we have a few places, like Dahlonega in N GA, but most places are on private lands. It's a bummer. Keep on panning, james
Hey there 👋 Klesh. You need to add traction to the soles of your waders. DIY Shoe goo glue custom cut to fit ASTRO turf or felt to soles of waders. Be safe my friend moving water can be treacherous 👍
I have sand and gravel super glued to the bottom, it works way better than any carpet or even steel wool i've glued there before. Just regular old sand and gravel. Guess i put too much faith in it that slippery rock didn't agree
Nice but of gold you found. Also nice bit of gold you got with the magnet separator too, those are cool seen them elsewhere too. Hope the back gets better. Thanks for sharing.
Man... When it rains it pours, eh? Lol. I bet that water was crisp, cool, and refreshing... Not to mention it probably woke you right up. Better than any coffee! Lol. It looks like you need to go back with a metal detector or a magnet to find your Arbor Fabricating classifier. I've gotta say... The future of gold prospecting and mining is kind of exciting, with all of the new technology and all of these incredibly smart and tech savvy folks coming up with new equipment and ideas to make things a little easier, just like Colter and his creations. I enjoyed the video, Shane. Thanks for sharing your (mis)adventures with us. 😁
I'm must apologize, but I laughed after 4 minutes when you 1. fell in the river. 2. dropped your classifier, then 3. lost battery life on your camera in a matter of 30 seconds. You are a king for sticking it out to complete the video, which was entertaining as usual. Great work, man.
My brother, Shane, you probably missed a lot by not having a crevice vacuum like what Dan Hurd uses. I happen to have an even smaller crevice vacuum I am going to give you. I can't climb around in boulders and hillsides anymore, due to my wonderful VA knee replacements, so, this is a gift from one 82nd AIRBORNE PARATROOPER to another. Go get that gold! I am watching. AIRBORNE ALL THE WAY!!!
I have a hand drudge and a portable gas powered bucket vacuum I built for an FYI video back in 2017, but I had trouble carrying what I had across that river let alone that thing 😂
Boy howdy!! Yee-Haa! I remember those kind of days. But ya pulled through with patience and endurance and still brought home some yellow. Two thumbs up.
Was just there Monday digging up by tunnel 6. Found some nice flakes and 2 pickers. I guess with no sluices and highbankers, that area hasn't been hit as hard. Heavy pans!
Glad you got some gold after you lost your classifier! I am on a nutrition and workout plan. I have 1 egg, 3 egg whites 2oz of sausage and 35-50 carbs depending on if it’s a workout day or not. I turn 40 in February so it’s time to get healthy!
That dry ledge would've been perfect for a 18v battery powered vacuum bro. Good to see you out getting wet again mate. Hopefully more videos of you getting down to bedrock gold to come.
I have. I've tried memory foam, spring mattresses, the purple mattress as well. I settled on a box spring that's pretty firm, although sleeping flat on the floor seems to help the most for the bulging discs and degenerative disc issues, but not much for the nerve pain. I have it covered by the VA so anything I need I can get, including surgery but I just keep telling them I don't want surgery, i can still walk so i'm happy
Just wondering if you have ever panned the Colorado River near Grand Junction or anywhere on the west slope area? do you know if the Colorado is open for panning in the city limits of Grand Junction/Fruita area? If not can you maybe do a video of it and see if it's any good?
I feel ya man, I dropped my GoPro off a cliff 2 days ago trying to get a better look at what I thought was a quartz seam lol. Paracord and a stick! Seemed like a good idea...it wasn't 👎
I know everyone's back is different but mine really responds to an inversion table. If i stick with it daily for a couple weeks i'm good for awhile. Also i do better when im using my back and not sitting alot, which is the worst. Strengthening the core helps too. Hope you feel better soon !
Hey man! Just have Jason/Flower Gold Wizard make you one? Do you think those wading boots like the fly fishermen wear would help save the back from another fall? Just to get across the water? I've been on some of the construction up there lately.
Awesome adventure, oh crap rocks current slippery for sure sucks you lost your classifier it wasn’t a Monday by chance lol still your theory proved correct , sweet unit score gold awesome well glad you didn’t get hurt in all them events shell we say great video thank you
As rocky as your rivers are, you might be better off with felt soled waders. I like the stocking foot waders. Then I can have a pair of boots with both types of soles depending on where I'm at.
I've tried both, but the best thing I've come up with is to simply super glue a bunch of sand to the bottom of the wader feet. It's permanent and grips much better than any felt or carpet i've used in the past. I take too much confidence in them sometimes though as you can see.
I had confidence in this project. I tell you if there is the smallest amount of gold anywhere you'll be the guy to find it. PS: Give Pauly a call, he'll get your classifier for you. :D Happy Panning!

What did you have for Breakfast today? I actually skipped it today...but it's usually bacon, eggs, toast, coffee...pretty boring.
Small cheese tray and 2 cups of coffee. I was in a rush lol
Coffee and a little spliff ,,, x2.
Then took The Bruce out, then oat bake bars.
Corned beef hash and eggs , a banana
A row of chocolate chip cookies. Proudly.
2 RaIsin and Cinnamon English muffins with cream cheese and Everything but the Bagel seed spinkles along with super strong black tea.
That was super enjoyable 🙂

There's a bunch of good ones higher up, but would need to get my rock climbing gear to access those.

Klesh: "Back's feeling good, might go for some content later"
Clear Creek: "We can fix that"
Can't wait to visit Golden CO.. my favorite places I've ever been

Im looking to do a metal detecting video for ARizona episode, there's a few GPAA claims out there where i can swing the sdc2300 or my gm 1000

Yeah this year we have not had much cold temperatures and almost zero snow/rain so the water is as low as ever right now.
The combination of the music and your voice make these videos hypnotic and I love them , thanks for all your hard work

LOL......looks like you're out there enjoying a nice swim on a nice summer day. Great Video.
Would a dustpan and brush help with the crevice and dumping the dusty material into the bucket to classify?
Awesome man I have been there one time and I enjoyed it!! Colorado is so beautiful, thanks for Sharing Klesh.

Thanks to you, I own 3 Arbor Fabricating classifiers now. They are the best I have ever used by far. Worth every penny.
Another good thing to take, is a small dust pan and hand broom. It saves me a lot of time and makes it really easy to sweep up everything

So glad to see you back out at the creek .
That looks a great place to explore more.
Cool magnetic machine 👍...
And yeh, ya need a blummin dry suit. 🤣
Obsessed with your videos man. Its refreshing to watch someone who is the real deal!

Every day Shane uploads a prospecting trip video is a good day.
Great video. Thanks for sharing Shane⚒⚒👍👍
Sorry to hear about your back! Back problems suck. Glad you're feeling better! 🥇
I appreciate your perserverence. Hope you didnt get sick from the cold water. Hope you find your classifier.

Glad to see you "back" to it! Always nice to see what your up to👍
That was a cool video, that black sand separator works amazingly

I’d definitely say that’s a good day out! Thanks for sharing
I'm a 42 percenter these are cool to watch for the scenery alone.
Man the states is a huge place.
I love these crevice videos definitely my favourite out and about vids love Shane. Also did you eventually find your classifier?
Yeah I found it, unfortunately it's one from Arbor Fabricating's website
Pretty good haul seeing how many times you went swimming.
I think you have helped me find a new hobby ,thank you.

Glad you are feeling better! Sorry about the unplanned bath!! And it’s terrible to lose the A. classifier!!!
hi Klesh i never seen you use a iron brus like they use in welding to brus out the smal places like you videos keep up the good work
I do need a little brush with my crevicing kit thanks for reminding me!
I have back issues too….climbing into a cold steam in November seems contraindicated
Glad to see you back out in the field Shane! Always enjoy all of your content.🍻
The gold was all in your waders .😝🤘👍🤙
Nothing worse than starting off with a rough day. Always have enjoyed panning in Clear Creek.
Nice little gold pieces there
🤘 right on!
Awesome !! ... Your videos are the best man !!
Nice job on that crevice. I sure hope you or someone who knows you finds your classifier. It's a great piece of equipment. Take it easy Klesh
Great video really glad I found your channel 👍🇬🇧
Crazy. I've been there. Too funny.
realy bad day,
fall in river lost some stuff, but great that you made it, and find some gold ;)
Danger zone! Gonna get stuck in the rapids. Careful Mr! Just buy new supplies lol
Shane dude!!!! Epic video.
I love this kind of video. More of this please (I ask as winter starts to ramp up). 😎
Looks like decent material right there
To bad you lost the classifier in the creek, nice gold and cool video as always man!!
Nice to see you. Please take care of your back. Great video.😎😎😎😎😎
Go metal detecting at some old parks...
From 3:39 to 3:48 Shane looks like a Skyrim npc 😂
When i was able to do clear creek it was July and the water was freezing cold you are a real trooper to do it in November.
That opener was worth the price of admission thanks
Your swim reminded me fishing trout in Norway. I love rivers, so time from time i have to take a swim
PS. Trout is like gold, sits in pockets
haha very cold but fun

Really enjoyed the video!
What a way to hit He-Man mode! Sorry it happened, but salvaged a great video in style!!
That water came off St. Mary's Glacier about 20 minutes before you were rooting around in it. Frosty!!
Refreshing
Great video mate.
It is really interesting to watch.
Shane, it’s a shame you lost your classifier, somehow I feel like you could hear the voice of your NCOs telling you to dummy cord your NVGs and other sensitive items so you wouldn’t lose them. Lol
Jokes aside, great video as always!
You should try the gold bowl " Blue Bowl " it works great.⛏️⚒️⛏️
You ever try panning around Breckinridge?
Shane, call Jiggin w/ Jordan. He’ll find your classifier.
It happens Shane lol 😆 you know how many scoops I lost or forgotten 🤣 nice gold tho.
