I did not grow up with this song, but when I was at my lowest points, and when I dip back into a bad pattern now, this song brings tears to my eyes and makes getting up and doing the next thing I need to feel possible again. I'm a licensed counselor, and I can't tell you how important it is for a person with depression to do "just one thing", even if it seems insignificant, to build the momentum they need to improve their lives. Sometimes, forgetting your to-do list, and just changing clothes, just taking a shower, just making the bed, just picking up some trash, or just eating some food makes the difference between a day where nothing gets done, and a day where half or even all of the things you wanted to do get done. This song is a moving anthem. 6 1/2 years ago, I caught an autoimmune virus that caused my whole lower area to be paralyzed from the waist down. So scary with fears of not being able to move around.... walk, run, or even dance. Went through tons of testing (which they call came negative). From the hospital to a rehab center, I went through 3 1/2 weeks of PT. On the last time, I was able to make a long route around the PT room and I walked out the door. A miracle moment. Now hearing this song reminds me on how much hard work it took for me to get back up on my feet again. I knew this song very briefly as a kid. Then during COVID, I did a 50th Anniversary virtual production of this legendary special. Singing in the Ensemble which it came back into my life. At the same time, I was creating my own solo cabaret act which I got to do 2 runs in NYC this year. When I was finding songs in my setlist, I had this one in it. Literally my theme anthem now. To the creators of this song and the movie to transition from one part of your life to the next to go from something you dislike to something you enjoy to start something new that's scary and hard but exciting it is a good life lesson that should never be forgotten if this movie is ever remade which I don't see it needs to be maybe a little remastered so people decide to watch it again this scene this song is a valuable life lesson that I think kids in school need to hear I think adults should never forget
These movies always make me feel like I’m little again and watching them with my little brother at my grandparents house or with my parents. Now it’s a little more special to me. I’m in my 2nd year of college now. Last year was my very first time ever living away from my family and I had such a difficult time that I would just be sobbing in my room because I missed them so much. Now I’m all grown up and on my own with my whole life ahead

Wholesome
RIP Keenan and Mickey. They played some great roles in this movie.
My Mom sent this to me to motivate me. I'm coming back as a reminder!! 😊
I finally see symbolism, going to God. I've loved this song since I was a small child. God bless to all.
💯🙌
my fav song from this special. i don't have kids and i'm 38 but i still watch the classics every year once. favs: this movie, Rudolph, and Nestor the long eared christmas donkey. i actually needed several tissues for that last one i mean i legit sob in parts. so cute though
💕
To the creators of this song and the movie to transition from one part of your life to the next to go from something you dislike to something you enjoy to start something new that's scary and hard but exciting it is a good life lesson that should never be forgotten if this movie is ever remade which I don't see it needs to be maybe a little remastered so people decide to watch it again this scene this song is a valuable life lesson that I think kids in school need to hear I think adults should never forget
As an amputee, I approve this song!
A great song to help us get moving some days before school. Great memories!
A classic! I always have this song stuck in my head when I’m walking on Patrol at work. It always puts me in a cheery mood.
love this movie.
Me too besides Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.
Incredible song with a delightful arrangement of instruments. A very talented writer and arranger behind this song.
I'd love to find the original audio so I can add it to my Spotify holiday playlist. This song is written so beautifully.
Its not Christmas until I hear this song!! Awesome message. Thanks for sharing. Happy holidays!!❤👣
Christmas Eve 2024. I love the music from this special.
I have this movie and I never get tired of it
Started PT today post knee surgery and this is song is going to help me through it
This is more than a song about walking..... it's about getting your life together and keep going even when you think you can't because life allows you to change direction and be the exception when you put one foot in front of the other
It's remarkable how this song instantly put me into a good mood.
Havent heard this particular version in years. Nostalgia i tell ya
Best christmas movie of all time! We need to bring back old disney movies, the old ones just seem so much more magical.
This is Rankin-Bass, not Disney!
I already got tattoo of that quote for my youngest brother, Adam. He got cancer three times from at 3, 9 and final 11 year old. He's died in 2015 by September. Amen💙
So sorry. He went a lot through his young age. 😢
I love how this song brings so many wholesome stories
That song never gets old. 🎄😁👍
This song reminds me of being a kid. My Mom would sing this song to me around Christmas time. Great memories
