To call this movie delightful is to grossly understate the facts. This is coming from a 50 year old African man. I lost my sister Annie 31st October 1991 and to this day it is the most painful episode in my half a century on this planet. I was in a video store in Harare Zimbabwe when the the title of this movie caught my attention. I rented it not knowing whether or not it was a good pick, took it to my parents home during the Christmas break of 1992. This movie helped heal my mom’s broken heart. She laughed, cried and laughed some more. It was the first time joy came back to our family. Crazy thing is my sister Annie was a black African version of the orphan Annie. She was famous for getting herself into all kinds of trouble as a kid mainly because she the soul of curiosity and did not do boredom well.
She sounds like she was a fantastic person to know. I'm sorry for your loss, I hope your memories together remain unclouded by the passage time. Are there any particular memories of her that come to mind you'd like to share with us?
The best version ever. Irreplaceable! I sang and danced to this while cleaning the house when I was a kid. I felt like an orphan and so Annie back then! Pa scolded me for pouring water across the wooden floors! 🤣
I was only two when this movie came out but I got to see the Broadway musical and they brought the actual daddy war bucks and Annie to the theater it was fantastic I’ll never forget it
My personal fave musical is ' Seven Brides for Seven Brothers' ( horribly underrated imo ... fun fact , Gideon is played by one of the actors in West Side Story early in his career). But this is def my second fave musical of all time. I must have watched them ( along with 'Grease') every weekend for like a year when i was seven lol.
A time when real choreography, heart, soul and practice mattered in the industry. So much talent and time went into these performances. The Mickie rooney days ❤

The girl crawling down the stairs while the bucket fell always caught my attention as a kid. That’s gotta hurt your stomach a bit 😂
I'm certain her hard knock life hurts way more.
This clip still gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling. 🥰 I loved this movie as a kid!!
0:40 Can we talk about that girl on the background swinging on the lamp, then doing a flawless 3-point landing?
What’s on your mind?
This was released only a few days before I was born and I grew up on this movie.
It's a hard knock life not having the money to do anything.... except how to perform gymnastics like a pro.
Como se llama la película original?
@@daniamarquez615 it’s Annie
This choreography is crazy!! I was impressed as a kid and I’m even more impressed as an adult
I don't care what anyone says. This will always be my favorite version of the movie!

Annie murdered this beat 🔥 🔥🔥👍🏿💪🏿👊🏿👏🏿 empty belly life Rotten smelly life Full of sorrow life No tomorrow life WOW
Love this show! Carol Burnett was great in this show.
I love it when Molly makes fun of Miss Hannigan
And the best thing about that is that they have no chill about her whatsoever. And I love it!
The composition of this song hits my soul
the amount of talent in this one scene is insane
Annie was the first movie my mom rented at a videostore. Before Blockbuster. We watched it so many times back to back!
I would act out the entire movie, put on my dress shoes and dresses and everything. I wore that VCR out w/ this one 😂.
Wish I could adopt that entire orphanage. ❤️❤️❤️😍😍
Lol too many kids
well they’re like 50 now
Exactly, but... Not The Liers And Meanies
@@mrcoolguy2882 older than me lol
Top 10 best song of all time fo sure
It's amazing...I saw this movie when I was...those kids' age! That performance was talent!
I miss this movie. This and The Sound Of Music were my favorites as a kid.
omg excact sma for some reason my fav movies were like so old fashioned i was like 7 and i was obsessed with annie
@@scruffymuffin6147 Yeah.
I remember this as a kid...
So. Many. Memories.....❤❤❤❤
My whole life I get this song in my head at random times. I watched the movie a ridiculous amount of times. I was 7 when it was released
I love how molly really steals the movie
I would adopt her in a heartbeat if it were as easy as adopting cats or dogs
Simple:
Go to your nearest orphanage or adoption center,
@@thetransportationguy7930 There’s a LOT more to adopting a child than that. You have to spend thousands of dollars and go through tons of various inspections of your personal life. You don’t just drop by an adoption center and pick out a kid.
I know, I simplified it.
@@thetransportationguy7930 No such things as an orphanage here in the U.S
@saagi sharon I agree. I'm glad Molly got adopted on the second film titled "Annie: A Royal Adventure."
Hupenyu vakoma.
She sounds like she was a fantastic person to know. I'm sorry for your loss, I hope your memories together remain unclouded by the passage time. Are there any particular memories of her that come to mind you'd like to share with us?
Wow brother. This is such a beautiful and touching memory. Thanks for sharing
There is a african American reboot of little orphan annie now
I always super impressed by the kids, the choregraphy, the music, well everything about this!!
Yeah, these kids had talent and all these girls are moms probably.
The best version ever. Irreplaceable! I sang and danced to this while cleaning the house when I was a kid. I felt like an orphan and so Annie back then! Pa scolded me for pouring water across the wooden floors! 🤣
they probably had a blast filmng this lmao
yes 0:35 upside-down girl is my aunt when she was little.
she says it was great fun ☺
Was it those twins??
Me hearing it’s the hard knock life everywhere I go
I was only two when this movie came out but I got to see the Broadway musical and they brought the actual daddy war bucks and Annie to the theater it was fantastic I’ll never forget it
My goodness the gymnastics that went into this-dang! So much talent
The BEST musical in cinema history even better than West Side Story. Absolutely BRILLANT MASTERPIECE!!! 🔥🔥🔥🥇👏👏👏💪
Yes ha I see alot of Don O Connor in the girls that were flipping.
Still the best version to this day
By far, Aileen Quinn is the best Annie, at least amongst the ones that I've seen!
This has always been one of my favorite movies!
This is my favorite version out of all “Annie” movies
just watched the 2014 version ....u can't be serious folks..this version..1982...is so much better than 2014...not even close...not even on the same planet
Agreed
2014 Annie is a foster kid and it takes place in present day (2014) and not 1933 so of course it’s gonna be different but I still do like the 1982 version much more
So my opinion is invalid?
I just watched a clip from that then came back here to rinse my eyes.
@Christopher Bingham a foster kid switches from guardian to guardian and stays in different peoples homes through the foster program where as an orphan just stays in an orphanage which a bunch of other kids until they’re 18 I believe or until they’re adopted
It's the hard-knock life for us!

Jab her with a safety pin
Make her drink a mickey finn

The best version....1:48 It is a genius of scene full of choreography, and music...I´ve watched this movie more than 10 times
I agree. That was also my favorite part of this song because it looked so funny when they did that for me lol
Despite all the hard-knock life they are experiencing, the kids are having a great time! A positive attitude gets you through the more trying situations. Lesson learned.
True. Coping mechanism work sometimes and some people don’t understand that
44 years old and I still love this movie. Screw the remakes
Yes I agree 100% I'm watching the 2014 one which had no singing or dancing/gymnastics skills at all, it's all tech based and Jay Z did the music haha enough said. So many on here think Jay Z made the song up, so sad and so disappointing compared to this sparkling gem
Long shots, so many kids...must have been a nightmare to shoot. But the result is PERFECTION! Kudos to the filmmakers and the young performers.
Aww yes the good version.
This version of annie is just amazing and will always have a special place in my heart
Bro im impress of the kids that fvcking doing backflip the heck 😂😂
See the 2014, all the dancing and skill is stripped off on that one. This 82 they were so skilled and talented.
They must have had so much fun filming this
Not sure, it seems very precise and professional
Still one of my favorite childhood movies. Annie, Goonies, Return of the Jedi, and Superman were always on rotation.
This song is the best I’ve been singing it in my head for so long it’s like the best❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😮😮😮😮😮😮
My favorite version.💙💙👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I absolutely loved this movie, the musical I saw in Pittsburgh when I was 10...
The whole bit! My parents even bought me a Little Orphan Annie dress,
I loved that dress! So many memories! Now I'm pushing 50!
Excellent performance in every aspect down to the minute details. Best version and a show of what the US could accomplish when at its height!
This version is superior. I can actually hear what they're saying opposed to the 2014 annie where they're autotuned so hard that you physically can't hear the lyrics.
@Christopher Bingham yeah i like this version
You would not believe how long it took me to realize they were saying Foster kid instead of Monster kid in the 2014 version.😥
@Christopher Bingham right
@@TJZ243 Facts
The first meeting with musicals.. watched Fame before this one.. but this is a movie.. 80s was fun and enjoyment was truly goodness based.
Best version EVER ❤❤❤❤❤ IM IN LOVE THESE KIDS WAS HAVING FUN I WISH I WAS THERE DON'T YOU
God I feel like a kid again. I used to sing this at the top of my lungs.
When I was little I would watch this movie like 50 times a month because I liked it so much.
If this had come out in the late 50's early 60's my sisters and I would have been singing it while we did dishes and cleaned house.
