I just bought 20×11 +43 rear rims with 315/30 R20 mch pilot sport 4s tires on my 2017 1SS Camaro. I have no spacers on and they work perfect with zero rubbing
I love seeing people stuff real tires under cars. I had to widen the hell out of my car, but I'm running R888's 335/30R18 square on my WRX. I did all the calculations and added the appropriate supporting mods along with custom fabbed
I just watched your video again because I’m getting ready to get some 315s on my 17 2SS. I remembered you said yours fit. Q1) if you hadn’t lowered your Camaro would you still need spacers? I think yours is lowered. Q2) Since installing the 315s have you noticed any problems or difference in handling compared to the 305s? Thanks!!
Haha never mind I just checked and they did rub on the harness it didn't rub all the way just past the first layer of tubing just relocated it and sealed it off thanks for this video glad I watched it saved me a lot of problems bro
Did you still have to relocated the wiring harness with the spacer or you didn’t use one ? I payed 2300 for rims and Tires for my 5th Gen and I crash a few days later. Tried to put the on the new car 2018 SS and deff did not fit without the spacer. They are 315 in the back 275 in the front
what offset did you get? i’m dropped about an inch on my 2011 ss. trying to run 10” up front and 11” in the rear but i can’t find any thing about offset recommendations
Hi Matt I put the OEM GM ZL1 rim on my 2SS Camaro rears and there`s lots of room to install the stock tires Goodyears Rear 305/30.R20 Front 285/30/R20 Front won`t be a prob. No Spacers needed .Thx! gunner
Matt you did a very good job, Yes i love big tires on the back, Awesome! and i think from what you are saying about the finger space you will be fine but you are wise like you said to keep an eye on it. Thanks for bringing us along on your build.
If the wheel is on the the hub a good amount you should be ok. I learned the hard way in my old Monte Carlo with a Big Block Chevy 402. Did a dry hop and sheared all my right rear wheel studs off. So ya, been there done that. Those tires look awesome on there.
Thank you so much for all the details. How is the car hooking up now with these tires in first gear? And how much slower does the car feel on top end? I would love to see the weight comparison between this setup and stock wheel and tire.
Matt, great video man, a lot of people are going to use this video as they see fit, and please believe most will add wheel/ tire combo before most mods if you consider this a car mod, I had s gen 3 mustang gt with cobra R rims with spacers hub centric, no issues. Keep up the work and roll out!
they do fit on all stock set up I added 315- 35- 20 on my 2016 2ss a little rub when I first take off but after 1 second nothing even when I park it and take of again do to my magnetic ride adjusting
Matt are you aware if this is any different for the 1LE specifically, I know you do your research, some guys are posting 335 on rears of 6th gen 1le with the eibach lowering and report no rubbing, yet you are rubbing your 2ss with 315, any feedback would be great thx!
If you really want to see if it fits then remove the springs, disconnect the shocks and then raise the wheel up into the fender well using a floor jack. Those are going to rub at full droop for sure. Could use more inside offset on the wheel but you don't have the room for that.
Nice! I'm sure you saw my studs install. No fun... Those big meats look HUGE. My only worry might be a hard pothole and contact with fender (outside) As usual a sweet video...BTW, plenty of lip on the hub for a 10mm plate.
I would be worried with a 10mm plate. I purposefully hit a few hard bumps to see what would happen. I do get very minor inner outside fender rub on those bumps. I have a video for it coming.
Lethal - ah, thanks for the reply. The only other piece is that the suspension over time will sag and that may cause more issue down the road but she's still new right? Well (my situation) between the remaining 8mm of lip on the hub and the longer studs, I don't think the wheels are going to fly off or anything. Keep flying high sir!

Lethal, I have magna ride on my 1LE too, how does the Eibach springs affect it? I'm extremely hesitant on messing with the suspension because of how good it is, I'd hate to make it worse just because i want to be lower
Matt What size tire can i go up to for both front and rear on my gen 6 1ss on the stock size rims? I do have the 5mm spacer on all 4 wheels because i like the look. I'm not looking to beef it up like yours although that size looks damn good. The springs are stock. Also i love the rims you currently have on your car. Do you have a video or a link on where i can buy them?
Hi Matt I have a 2018 Camaro 2SS will a OEM GM ZL1 rim with the stock tire sizes front 285/30/r20 and rear is 305/30/r20 fit without spaces. Thx gunner Love your videos!

But doesn't GM put a 325 section tire under the rear of the ZL1/1LE already without the tire poking out? The ZL1s are also about 3inches wider than SSs. So they fit bigger tires better
Absolutely great video..... This will help alot of gen6 owners!
This 6th gen chassis is phenomenal. I mean look at the size wheel/tire you can stuff in there and not have it protrude obnoxiously. Impressed.

Geeez I didn’t realize how much wider a 315 was compared to a 305, is it just because of the brand or are all brands the same in comparison?
Depends on the side wall height as well

I would have not done that and now you may have to get mud guards to protect from road derby. Body lift or suspension lift may be your next option.

You should put LED t8 tube lights in your garage SHOPLIGHT. You'll have much more lights in your videos
Matt, your ride is looking super tight. With those fat tires it looks tough.
+grijalvaIc I love the look
I'm gonna throw some 305/35/20's on my rear with 1" drop and 6mm spacers. Should I still be worried about moving that harness?
I'm always surprised nobody ever tries 295/30ZR20 on the front.
I got 285/30/20
You can actually still get them rotated it would just be a lot of work for the tire shop as they would just have to remove the tire and flip it.

The tire poking out... A big Meh, on whatever they are installed, car, truck, whatever. As long as they (barely) fit within the wheelwell I'm good. But doesn't GM put a 325 section tire under the rear of the ZL1/1LE already without the tire poking out? I know they're rolling with 19 inch rims but they must have a specific backspacing on those 1LE wheels.
Now 315's for the front!
+RJ Lamb that would be too much ;)
would this work if my camaro is at a stock height and i got 20”x11 wheels and 5mm spacers for the 315/30/20??? and would i need the spacers too to put 285s in the front?
What if my car is not lowered? How much better would they fit. Maybe smaller spcer?
+M Lewis The lowering aspect isn't what caused the need for spacers. It's all about how wide the tires are and how big the wheels are.
Hey man do you think a 305/35/20 will fit with a spacer in the back I don’t want any rub
