  • This is the story of how I wrote my first feature, and consequently, pilot script. The ups and downs I experienced along the way made me aware of the mythical "hero's journey" taking place beyond page in my life. I give glory to God for success through the struggles and everything that is to come. I hope my story can be encouraging to some of you endeavoring to write your own.

Oddly enough this is exactly what I needed to hear at 1am. I am trying to become a filmmaker and understand my relationship with God. Thank you

Thank you for sharing the honest struggle of writing a feature. I have made at least three attempts to write one and given up each time for very similar reasons to what you mentioned.
I hope to finish one soon.

That’s awesome man! Congrats. Writing is the thing I dread the most about filmmaking, but forcing myself to just sit down and do it has been helping break down that fear.

Thanks for sharing your creative journey, brother! This is such an inspiring and encouraging narrative that I feel will spark many more powerful and hopeful stories! As Hemingway said, “There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.” Being a writer myself, I know how alienating and lonely it can get. Thank you for adding your dynamic voice to the ever evolving social consciousness of writers!

Just another Christian tryna make some short films as well,…it’s a blessing hearing another Jesus follower making movies ,..which is inspiring to me. God bless!

Right now I’m getting into writing a script. And maaan ist ist hard to write an authentic and not exaggerated dialogue. Will you upload your film on yt? And did you do a lot rewriting? Would love to see your movie!

That’s awesome!! I enjoy the challenge of good dialogue! I find it helpful to get out into the public and just listen to people talk sometimes for inspiration on natural dialogue.
The pilot hasn’t been made yet, but it will be one day! I did a ton of rewriting on the script, but the core of the story never changed! That’s why I mention that story is the most important and all the details can be changed or improved later.
      Thanks!

@@nkosiroma yeah you’re right. Daily dialogue is good dialogue. And let me guess, you really wanted to shoot with your arri but had to except that’ll be way too expensive?

@@joshuarahimi221 Not necessarily! The script I wrote is a studio project, once it’s picked up I’ll have the backing to shoot it how I envision it, which will likely be partially on film!
