You have really enhanced my love of horror as a genre and film as a whole. I found you near the beggining, before you blew up, and I wanna say you've impacted my life in a positive way that you could never imagine. Thank you.
Thank you guys so much for all the likes!
Exactly!! They're the reason I love horror!
Same
eyy who remembers the first golde chainsaw, the arrow from under the bed!
21st century schizoid man
How many people have requested a kill count
Let's find out and get to the numbers
Lmao
if its any worth, i attend streams a ton of i’ve only seen basket case requested like... once
We need a word count for the amount of times "exploitation" has been said.
I wanted Psycho
A Request Count special could be cool.
"Belial does not understand consent" is the best out of context sentence this podcast has ever had.
"Nudity! Gore! Hot dogs for breakfast!". Ahh 80's movies.
You can have hotdogs for breakfast as much as you want. I don't really care if you do. Eat your heart out Hannibal ;)
Hell yeah what more can you ask for
All the good shit!
Reported Toxic Avenger budget: $500,000 USD
Reported Basket Case budget: $35,000 USD
The room collage dorm room!
Franken hooker (1990) film has the main character waving the literal film budget around so I wouldn't be surprised if that was tru for basket case 😆
frankenhooker was made by the same director as basketcase
cant wait for the time when its '' were husband and wife and we like to get scared together ''
Blueantdunne Gaming Channel that would be the greatest thing ever
On that day, I'll wish them congrats. Maybe they'll name their child after their favorite horror characters.
@Shivansh Nautiyal lmao
@@lemurlad2581 hopefully one day I'll see it 😊
@Shivansh Nautiyal "Our baby: Georgie MacReady"
Duane is such a good brother, Belial did not appreciate him enough.
in all honesty, I really had a bad few weeks, and a group Belial scream was just enough to make me smile for a while, so thanks dead meat crew, love the content, 10/10 would go AAHHHHHHAAAHAHAHHHAHHAHHAAHHHHHHHH again
The part about that New York shot where ur like "I think they just found that footage ....... and used it 😈" it killed me 😂😂😂😂
Sometimes I give myself the creeps.
Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me.
Sometimes I get nudity, gore and hot dogs for breakfast.
10/10
You guys are perfect for each other
Crash Slash I love these two there reviews really make my day.
I have spent far too much time watching this channel recently but it's so damn great.
lol i've always had like a toe in the whole horror world and you guys are just dragging me in more and more. Signed up for the free 30 day shudder, i'm excited!
Lol YESSSS. Dude you have an annual horror movie party, you've at least got a foot in there. Now you can see some extra weird shit! Haha ♥️
I feel physically sick anytime a character says "take me [name]"
Can we get a podcast about Gremlins?
Kanenums its a horror Christmas comedy movie.
43:58 "Lucy the cat come to do no good!"
Absolutely OBSESSED with this podcast. Chelsea is amazing... 😍
I accidentally unplugged my headphones during the belial scream and I swear I freaked out and jumped and I dearly hope no one heard that lol
My friend walked in right at the group scream, the look on their face was priceless lol
the intro "im james..." oh man i need "A. janisse" to follow that phrase
Deadass my favorite movie at the moment I've been watching it for like a year and I can't get enough of it.
Celebrating the 30th dead meat podcast. Keep up the good work and never stop doing what you love :D
I remember watching basket case when I was little and it scared me but now not as much
Well , I didn't like wicker baskets for a while, after watching this.
Shock Studios It scared me when I was really young but now I laugh my ass off.
@@BA_Pointer yes of course. ^^
It say's comedy for the UA-cam Movies Poster
I so love it when you both so obviously enjoy a movie! This is such a great review!! Totally the best!
I used to like to eat “uncooked” hot dogs as a kid. Parentheses because they’re technically cooked before you get them.
Oh yeah I watch movies with subtitles all the time
You never mistake or miss dialogue that way, which is useful for someone like me who is on the autism spectrum and struggles with absorbing spoken dialogue.
I love these podcasts man keep up all the great content!
33:40 Belial/James/Chelsea scream off.
I watched this when i was a teenager after seeing it in my subscription to fangoria magazine. Loved it!
i've never been more happy a video was made ever
I agree with Chelsea about late 70s early 80s movies. They are my favorite
I love the intro. It gets me pumped every time.
Proud to say that I’ve been watching Basket Case since I was 8 and absolutely loved it, so glad my dad loves horror movies as much as me
Omg I need more reviews like this, these obscure and fun movies that r so interesting to talk about and learn about
I can't stand sharknado. James hit on it perfectly. Sharknado it's the corporate, soulless version of a "so bad it's good" film.
And on top of that, it's just kinda boring which that kind of movie shouldn't be
Sharknado got really weird and I loved it
Wisteria Fawkes I would also wear a sharknado shirt, simply because that image/concept is hella rad
I LOVE basket case. Brain Damage was the first actual horror film I watched and I watched it in the break after finishing high school and it completely blew my mind and massively informed my taste - it's the film that got me into movies again! It even introduced me to dead meat!! I'm so excited I found this video while going through podcast episodes.
I'm obsessed with this channel. I went on a road trip and this is all I watched I don't even have to pay to watch short movies 👌 lol
I've been here since the Friday 13th series, so god damn satisfactory to actually see how much you've grown
The only thing I remember from this movie is the screaming noise the damn monster guy makes when the lady opens the basket and how much it horrified me as a kid
This movie scarred me for life. I randomly remember parts of this movie from time to time. I was scared Belyle would get me from the toilet.
I have yet to see Basket Case 2 yet but Basket Case 3! Holy shit!
I was introduced to this movie thru the very brief reference James Wrolf uses in his AVGN Sega CD review! Good times!
Who’s here after James anouced that he was gonna cover this movie after Idle Hands
Yep, covered it today
I wonder how many people thought when you guys said Basket Case that use we’re talking about the Green Day song 😂
I've watched this mamy times and just decided to comment on the captions/subtitles thing. Growing up, we had one of those TVs where it didn't have a remote. You had to turn a knob to change the channel. I didn't know captions were a thing until several years into school. We watched Free Willy in class as a reward for finishing our work before Friday. Anyway, the teacher turned on captions because we had 3 deaf kids in our class. I was amazed. I thought that was futuristic to have words on the screen as they were being spoken. So, when we finally got a more modern TV (because lightning killed the dinosaur), I made sure to find out how to turn on captions, and I have used captions ever since. It helps me, mainly, because I don't like loud sounds. So, I turn the volume down to where I can barely hear it and just follow along by reading.
Yo I asked for you and a few other horror channels to review these movies and you're the first one to do it thank you Dead Meat
Why did one person dislike this...
GunShow43 because they meant to hit the thumbs up button, but got spooked by the basket and hit the dislike
@@andhispalmugman6314 yeah
One of my favorites... kudos
I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on the newest Mummy, especially since it was supposed to start the Dark Universe. Frankly I would love to hear about that and why it didn't pan out like Universal wanted(probably because this Mummy was too actiony and not scary).
Oh! Would you two consider doing the OG Wolfman and Creature from the Black Lagoon in the future? And the OG Mummy too? I would love to hear you guys talk about those movies and effects.
Dead meat your my favorite out of all UA-camrs keep up the good work!
Just watched the toxic avenger on Saturday and loved it so I love your shirt jame
This series gets so fucking crazy. Highly recommend the entire trilogy.
I missed this when it was live I'm crying😭
Stopped this to watch the movie, can’t wait to relate.
Thanks James for all of the kill counts you have done for us. Basically you have dedicated most of your time for doing these for all of your fans to enjoy especially the Halloween movies. I have one question.....Are you going to do a kill count for the new Halloween once it comes out on DVD and HOW HAS LAURIE SURVIVE THROUGH ALL OF THESE MOVIES!?!?!?
Best channel ever for horror movies
Been here since 20k love your channel
So in filming this, the guy who ran down the street naked, could he have gotten an indecent exposure ticket?
Yup
If any minors had seen him either(not sure what youths would be doing at night in 1982's New York)he'd have been in HUGE _huge_ trouble.
Love you guys!
If I remember correctly, none of the movie was shot in a hotel, it was all a very temporary set. I think I remember hearing the director say that on the special features on the bluray of the version that was restored by the MoMA.
Hi James! I love your channel!
“Ms .45” is my favorite exploitation film and it’s got the same wonderfully gritty old school new york setting. I saw it at Quentin Tarantino’s New Beverly Cinema in LA last year in a nearly packed theater and people went nuts for that film
He's so chill
belial screaming is so visceral i love it
Dead meat= best channel ever😍😍
I've watched so much of you and this channel were in a weird way i feel we are best friends even though we've never seen each other in real life
Thank you
Best way to start my morning
Chelsea's Gorillaz shirt! ❤ Also great podcast you two. Always great to listen to.
That scream montage was iconic
Probably less of a budget than the music video for basket case lol
The best style of horror really is the low budget late 70s and early 80s movies
Not gonna lie the first time I saw Belial screaming and stuff I basically shat myself, props to the guys who created that thing 😂
I bet you could use flexible filament to 3D print a pretty good Belial replica.
I don't know why, but that intro makes me nostalgic for movies I've never seen.
YES! THE MOMENT I SAW THE THING IN THE BASKET I IMMEDIATELY THOUGHT OF JABBA'S SERVANT
I remember watching a Monster Madness review on this. Only reason I know of it.
Thanks you James, very cool!
Thanks y’all for the 30 days trail!!!!
First dead meat podcast that i watched
Its a good podcast i have to say
Surprised James hasn’t done Pet Sematary. There aren’t that many kills but it would be a good 2 editions to the kill count series...
First I played with Jud, then mommy came. And I played with mommy. We play daddy. We had an awful good time daddy. Now I want to play with you.... ~Creepiest quote from Gage Creed....
I bought the Arrow blu rays cause of this podcast. Thanks!
I’m not entirely sure what the consensus is on this movie but I’d love to see a movie review of The Ruins eventually if you guys would be up to it. Not sure if you’ve seen it or not but it’s one I enjoy quite a bit. The book it’s based off of isn’t a bad read either. Really enjoying the podcast. Keep up the awesome work! 🎃🎃🎃
Rotten tomatoes score is 74%
I’ve actually stayed in a super seedy hotel like that hotel broslin
In Seattle god
Their was like axe marks on the door and the door was locked with a chain
I only know of this movie as it was featured in Newsflash, a segment of Whose line is it anyway.
Fantastic work as always guys. My suggestion for a review is Wishmaster. Not sure if you have already done it but I really love the film.
This my first rented horror movie! Tommy K’s. All time fave.
Intro is fire I love it
Could you do a 'Bunnyman Massacre' podcast. The opening scene is awesome!!! UA-cam would make an awesome couple!!! Keep up with the great work!!!
Hotel Broslins check in desk was actually a lift shaft
New York City in the 70s and 80s sounds like a magical place
I just saw this movie for the first time a few minutes ago and it is sleepaway camp levels of bizzare
She’s right. New Yorkers don’t ask if you’ve been to any of the land marks 😂 we haven’t even been to them.
Your Channel is great 🎃😍
Agreed
I really like his content
hi james keep up the amazing work
Love this Channel
I remember this classic
hahahaha, That laugh at 51:15 is the best!!!
Love your channel you two !! Have you done anything about that movie C.H.U.D. ??
Watch “Frankenhooker”. lol. That movie is insane and funny as hell. Same director too.
Watch it with Joe Bob Brigg's wraparound on Shudder.
