Glad someone mentioned the breakcore roots :) I'm sure I don't have to mention Ruby My Dear but they and Igorrr are up in my top 5 below Squarepusher and AFX. Obviously Venetian Snares rounds out the list.
The genre of Igorrr was mostly Breakcore at first, it's a pretty extreme subgenre of electronic music heavily based on complex and intricate drums/breakbeats. Then on top of the plain and "simple" breakcore he added a lot of classical influences, especially baroque, and finally with his last 2 albums Igorrr went more on a Metal path, while still keeping all of those past elements, which in the end makes this Igorrr project what someone could call an experimental fusion of extrem Metal, breakcore, and classical (with a lot of other genres thrown in here and there from a song to another of course). BTW the chicken at the end of the video was named Patrick, and he died not long after the recording of this video I believe, he was kind of a mascot to Igorrr.

Fun tidbit about the chicken. His name is Patrick. The lead writer "Igorrr" sampled his clucks, remixed them, and used them in the song "Vegetable Soup". Patrick also featured his piano skills in the song "Chicken Sonata".
19:33 "What is this genre?" In the electronic world there is a music genre called "breakcore" which takes any and all other genres and breaks them into pieces and adds heavy kick drums and breakbeats. Igorrr is considered by many to be the genius who took breakcore and brought it back into the mainstream by making it Metal and more band-oriented than purely electronic. For your consideration good examples of breakcore artists are: Venetian Snares, Ruby My Dear, and Enduser.
Absolutely love this channel, and it's super cool to have a classically trained opra singer's opinion. To learn from very different vocal backgrounds is amazing. Also, I will definitely be checking out Igorrr, I love a bit of oddness in metal. Excellent video, hi from the UK 🇬🇧🙏
All their songs are very different, but I think I've boxed up this song pretty nicely, with the following description. Dracula formed a power group with the Diva from the Fifth Element and Joey Jordison from Slipknot, but Joey can ONLY play blast beats. Their sole purpose was to create a song for Michael Bay's upcoming French indie film, Métamorphose.
This was great. Few months ago I was looking for some insights on Igorrr (because this is just nuts) and did not really find any quality content. You both did a great job \m/
Nothing like a bit of prog-world-baroque-folk-polka-noise-break-core-black metal in the morning :D I had the absolute pleasure of having Gautier doing a solo set at the 200-capacity club I managed in Trondheim, Norway a few years back. Don't quite recall if it was just before or just after this release. And this summer I'm catching his full band doing the (by far) largest rock and metal festival in Norway with an expected total audience of 150k+ over four days! 🥲
Igorrr said he wanted to combine electronic, classical, heavy metal, baroque and violin music all in one. And so a lot of different styles. His early work is most comprised of experimentation of various electronic music styles such as breakcore, idm with lots of instrumental and vocal samples. His project Whourkr shows the early stage of Igorrr becoming a metal band.
ive posted so many comments on charismatic voice to check out Igorrr. Glad to see her check it out. Ieud spelled backwards = Dieu. Which is French for God. Genre is a mix of metal and breakcore. Breakcore is really the avant garde mashup genre you talk about.
Laure Le Prunenec is awesome - she covers a lot of different ground with her voice between the different bands/projects she's in and has done some vocal coaching herself.
Igorrr can do just about anything between classical instruments, guitars, basses, Synthes, and the entire range of vocals, but this just makes them one of the best in the music business
That was really great. I saw the collaboration you did on her channel too and I loved it. But I think I like this one even more. yes!!! i love you two together and when i saw the video on her channel the other day i immediately thought, you both need to do more together and you both need to do Igorrr!!!!!!
"What language is that?"
"Ehh... well..."
Wow. I just listened to a piece you sang. Totally amazing!!!! Such a strong and beautiful voice
I too laughed nervously when I first discovered Igorrr with this song. It was so insane and made me feel so great at the same time I couldnt hold it. I instantly fell in love with Igorrr. Then Corpo Mente... Then OXXO XOOX... And Ricinn...
Never heard of IGORRR before but I think I Iike them? This was awesome with the two of you together!
So, you two should check out the group called Slice the Cake. It is a composer that writes all the music, a guitarist that plays the guitar parts, a drummer that plays the obvious and a singer. All of which are from different countries.
Love watching people react to Igorrr, this was great. If yall haven't checked out Diablo Swing Orchestra, specifically Superhero Jagganath, you really should. It's a masterpiece of blending various styles and sounds that should never work together but somehow they make it a beautiful tapestry of sound.
i love this jarring is always the word i use to describe igorrr. i was impressed with the song tout petite moineau the live video of it on youtube is amazing.
What genre do you play?
Igorrr: Yes
This was awesome!
Please do more of these collaborations :)
Fantastic collaboration, complementary chanels. Love them both. Also you can see how nice she is giving her reaction to this video: very creative. Hhahahha
You two collaborating is the best!
Loved this collaboration between the two of you, loved this band one I have never heard before but will now.
This is my first time on this channel and seeing your guest, but I'd love to see more of this duo analyzing some of my favorite weird music. You guys offer a very professional and caring perspective that I haven't seen much in reaction videos
Fun tidbit about the chicken. His name is Patrick. The lead writer "Igorrr" sampled his clucks, remixed them, and used them in the song "Vegetable Soup". Patrick also featured his piano skills in the song "Chicken Sonata".
I LOVE this collab!!! Great reactions and info!
Epic Cross-over! Notification on stand by
how about "industrial death polka" for a general Igorrr's genre?
This was totally awesome! Please do more of these collabs :)
When I was really into breakcore I always liked Bong-ra, before he went back to doom metal some years ago.
What genre is Igorrr? Yes.
Igorrr is the most unique, consistently enjoyable musical project I have ever had the pleasure of listening to.
I would LOVE to see you react to Batushka - Yekteniya I: Ochishcheniye. Great operatic singing mixed with vicious high screams
Nothing like a bit of prog-world-baroque-folk-polka-noise-break-core-black metal in the morning :D
I had the absolute pleasure of having Gautier doing a solo set at the 200-capacity club I managed in Trondheim, Norway a few years back.
Elizabeth and Igorrr in one video! Doubly awesome. More like this!
Also, super down to watch Elizabeth learn to scream. Haha
The fact that he hasn't done Tallah yet is a damn hate crime.
Ill Report him to the authorities
Indeed
I come from the future, specifically 28/11/2020.He has made a video on Tallah on 23/11/2020.Thank you.
please do more of these videos with Elizabeth, i love her reactions so much
I looove how Mark is just purely the same in his videos as in his one on one lessons!
Great guy, great lessons!
Really happy people are still reacting to this video years later :)
ive posted so many comments on charismatic voice to check out Igorrr.
How thick can things go?! This is so master gathering of great things, thank so much you both! 🤘
That was really great. I saw the collaboration you did on her channel too and I loved it. But I think I like this one even more. You guys work well together, and I hope to see more of you two together. This band is very interesting, it might take a while to get used to their style. But I appreciate their talent.
My favorite part of the video is the one guitar chord played by the cowboy guy during the bridge. I just think of the effort to get the outfit and get it all set up for just that little moment, and it makes me happy
