Sick vocal work in the new song, man. Definitely some of your best work.
Thanks so much for checking out the video! Great track and great vocals as always. Stay safe!

I've heard these vocals live. These are not pitch shifted at all. He sounds exactly like the recording
Same. I thought this was edited to fuck. Seen him live and they're carbon copied. Alex terrible is a fucking Demon.
Tbh I'm pretty convinced he just lip synchs the pre recorded part for the Russian speaking bit. It sounds too identical every time on top of sounding a bit differently mixed and way louder than all of his actual screaming through the mic.
@@udaman100 I have no problem believing he did them in the studio and does all of his other vocals live(I mean, fuck, right after the Russian speaking part live he belts "DEMOLISHER" into the crowd, with no mic, and you can hear the fucking scream in the venue), I just mean specifically the Russian speaking bit.
@@MightBeCale You're talking about the lowest vocals of the song right? The part where it's just him and no other instruments? I'm sure they're mixed it a little to sound clearer but it's definitely not pitch shifted because he's posted countless videos of him doing those vocals with just his phone's audio.
@@udaman100 I know, I'm not arguing that they're pitch shifted. I'm saying that I think live, they just play that bit pre recorded because it just doesn't sound like he's naturally doing it live, it literally sounds 100% completely identical to the recorded song, extra EQ shit to make it sound wider etc and all.
When the breakdown is so immense the only correct response is to grab a sword and head to battle.
What else are you suppose to do?
Mace or battle hammer would also be acceptable implements.
And a hammer in the other hand 🔨
I personally thought a battle axe with that spike on the other end to slam skulls would pair equally well with this song💪🏽
I'd crowd kill the fuck out of everyone with a sword and it would be acceptable at this show. Lololol
I think it helps that russian as a language can just sound terrifying anyway

That was gonna be what I said. Russian just seems like its naturally spoken with more bass.

@@Pikaxsu the Rus formed an alliance with the Scandinavian Vikings, but they were not Vikings themselves. You have to be from the Scandinavian countries to be considered a Viking.
I've seen soooo many of these "vocal coach reacts to demolisher", all of them pretty much just say "wow, omg, no way". It's actually pleasant to see you discuss and go in depth into Alex's vocals. Big respect!
Thanks bro!
@@KardavoxAcademy Hey man, you miss one big point - Alex switch from english to russian for main part.
As a Russian, I can say that it is really difficult for us to sing in a low voice in English, but when we use Russian the sound is much lower.

I think he also over-inflates his large lungs and controls the extra air flow/pressure with bent neck restriction.
That and he allows the caged demons to speak...
As a sound engineer, he IS that low, but there are a couple things added for saturation and wideness. Things like reverb and certain effects help, but he is STILL that low. Plugins don't make it "lower", that would be regular pitch shifting. An I can tell when a voice is pitch shifted. He's that low, but it's helped by something to add the wider parts of the spectrum and bring in other tones in the same track. So for example, if you did a low, and I just EQ'd it normally, it would still sound good and full. But to add to it, you want to have something that over exaggerates something other parts of the frequency spectrum. Example, bringing out the lows(duh), but also bringing out more mid and high to help the low stand out. And compression is also a HUGE factor in doing vocals of ANY kind. Another big part is LAYERING and how you treat each individual layer. So if I take 5 of the same recording, take two and throw them far left and right, 2 more and throw them to 45 degrees left and right, the last is a center, but I turn that center one down, it makes it sound BROADER. And then with the extreme left and right I add saturation and EQ, the 45's only get EQ, but the center gets saturation AND EQ, it makes it sound totally different then justt having the center by itself, even with the EQ and saturation. There's a lot more I could say, but yes, he IS that low. The engineer is just REALLY good at making it sound bigger then it already is.
Edit: IF, and I really mean IIIIFFFF, there is any pitch shifting, its a layer underneath to give the whole sound more girth. The main one you hear is still how low he gets. Again, MAJOR use of the word IF here.
Very well put
Nice in depth explanation, I'm not a vocalist or sound engineer or anything, I just like to understand more about the things I enjoy, thanks dude.
Is he that low though?
@@carpediem8314 Alex Terrible's lows are so low that it would make the heaviest matter in the universe look like helium
Even if there was anything added, it still sounds sick. No one gives guitarists shit for adding distortion to their guitars like “Oh you can’t make it sound like that raw? You’re shit then”.
Dude, I've never seen any self-proclaimed vocal coach go into as much detail as you. Believe me, it helps you stand out. Never lose that! Cheers 😁

The pitch shift claims are why Alex shows the crowd without his mask (and the mic) how low and how far he can project. There's clips of them doing this live and even in the far back of the crowd and without him using the mic, you can tell he really gets that on his own with no pitch shifting. Unreal tbh, dudes mad talented.
When a vocal coach's reaction to your singing is "WHAT?!" you have either done something really wrong or incredibly right.
Or it's the typical UA-cam "Vocal Coach Reacts" that listens to Metal for the first time and not knowing anything about the vocals. It's quite refreshing to see one who actually does know this stuff and can actually explain and demonstrate it.

BRO I JUST SAW THAT HOLY FUCKIN SHIT 😳😳😳
He is a beast, so much power compared to regular screamers
As an audio engineer I don't feel they're pitch shifted. They sound like they are just because alex is unhuman, but I don't feel there's any pitch shifting tool out there that can sound that natural. When you use those tools, especially on extreme vocals, you can hear artificial elements added to the vocals. Here I don't hear any of those artifacts.
I agree. After listening to this and comparing it to his vocals on his instagram / UA-cam channel, dude is just a beast. Thanks for the insight as an audio engineer!
Simone Pietroforte i know i engineer my music which like rap haha but it seems like it would sound totally different if the pitch was manipulated digitally
I feel as an audio engineering student that people feel its pitch shifted bc I can pick up there's 2 or 3 different tracks one for the left one for the right and am not completely sure but one more going both ways so like how you would record guitars a lot of tracks to give it that really open and giant feeling to the song
I feel like you'd be able to hear a difference in how airy his t's and s's and the percussive nature of some of the consonants change in pitch if that were the case. But I've been wrong before.

He did those pre-breakdown insane lows live, there is footage of it in his insta post. Maybe some added proximity effect in the final mix but literally every vocalist does EQ stuff lmao. Alex is just... beyond this realm.
There are quite a few videos of him doing it live already. And the reason Alex does the shush thing is so that he can scream DEMOLISHER without his microfone in his raw natural voice. And is low. And loud. As fuck

Bruh that shit killed me. He always screams demolisher without the mic and it's so fucking loud.

Alex is an INSANE vocalist and in my opinion, one of the best in Deathcore. He's got many instagram videos, and videos on his channel, of him having mastery over his resonance and tone. What are your thoughts on his performance here? Honestly, I give it two thumbs up, A+, 100%! The reason I addressed the claim of pitch shifting is because one person mentioned it, but after hearing it in this video I don't see any sign that it is pitch shifted. 14:54 and 19:06 for reference :) And I've seen many of his live videos, he's an absolute beast!
Kardavox Academy there’s tons of live videos of him doing this part on the internet from when he was touring with bodysnatcher

The more often i hear this section, the less i think they are shifted. Shifted was my first thought - but nah.... The sound "natural" to me. The live ones are crazy deep and loud as well.
If not pitshifted it's heavily edited. Cuz that TEXTURE doesn't sound like something produced by just the voice.
Kardavox Academy he has a recent insta video of him doing the breakdown of demolisher live and when he gets to “demolisher” drops the mic and screams it without the mic and it’s rigoddamndiculous
Okay two things:

2. Dude's reaction throughout made it even better. When he pulled out the sword tho
Love it!
Even if they are pitch shifted, there are videos of him screaming live on camera with no microphone and its louder than the crowd and the instrumentals. Absolute bomb of a vocalist.
2 things...never imagined a deathcore vocalist to be so articulate. Also, never would of thought screaming would have such a wide range of forms and techniques and be so complex at the same time. Awesome anaylsis. Really opened my eyes

It's on point with his wide body build as to how low he got, I'm built like he is and when I was serious into vocals, I could get stupid low. Not as low as him, but if I probably practice like he did, its do able. I also think his accent helps him alot to make it more intimidating too, which is fucking badass. Thanks for the kind words!
As a music production student (Audio engineering) on my 3rd year I can honestly say this is not pitch shifted, after analysing this in depth using sonic visualizer amongst other audio applications and studying his vocals as a whole over the years of my degree his vocal performance can only be summed up as pure skill. Naturally like most vocalists that come through the studio there is definitely some EQ present. Even after removing said EQ, Alex himself is a monster on vocals. Perhaps it's his build (the guys a fucking giant in person) or his practice routine. So to sum up with what Vertillan previously said I 100% agree. No pitch shifting, just pure skill behind the mic.
All I can say is Alex is relentless in terms of shear power, fluidity and overall endurance, definitely a guy worth keeping tabs on.
As always awesome video Kardavox and Alex if you reading this, keep it up.
im curious to know how his voice is compressed...or does he even need it? The studio track certainly has plenty of compression to the vocals, but it would really play havoc trying to attenuate the frequency range...maybe they set up the post production for the bass guitar, and then just went "Yo Alex, its your turn!" ....do they even need a bass guitar though?
haha

RedDragonAutomaton97 dickie allen is definitely my second favorite. i know this might be kind of a frowned upon opinion but my favorite vocalist is CJ McCreery even though well. ya know lmooo
Most of my friends aren't into this kinda music so I actually loved seeing you jam out to it because I didn't have to do it alone this time. Haha. Great vocal information too!
That breakdown he does in the middle of the song always gives me goosebumps
I've been lurking in the background for a while, but I need to let you know. This is one of the best channels I've seen when it comes to my taste on "reaction content". You listen with the intent of explaining, stop the video to comment about specific details, imitate the different techniques to the best of your abilities (at least those you are comfortable with, cough, cough, inhale pig squeals), and I love that. Seeing you stop the video and play sections 5 times in a row is really refreshing. Your goal is clearly not to just watch, but to explain. I'm not a singer, but when you go into detail on how every single blegh is done I still get something to take with me when the video ends. After finding this channel I listen to metal with new ears, and I love it.
I believe you had some comments earlier about you stopping the video too much, but if the goal is to see the video in full then go find the video and watch it. We're here to be educated.
Dude, I've been singing death metal in the shower for years & you have taught me so much. Thank you eternally!
Best reaction vid I've seen dude, this is so cool. Loved it!
I've never listened to this kind of music before. I just came here on a whim. Song is kick ass!
Every time I hear Alex doing his staff (or Dickie Allen for that matter) I am one step closer to trying learning it myself. And every single time I am around family/ my dogs/ have someone sleeping. But one day I hopefully will return to this channel and relisten to these great explanations
I swear out of all the reactions to this song - this one is by far my favorite.
4:36 - bless you
DUDE! I saw this video when it premiered. and I just discovered Kardashev about three months ago not realizing you're THE DUDE! Hell yeah man. I hope you guys keep growing and you keep making rad content and music! \m/
