I descaled my Oracle in December 2019 only to find that it would not reheat to the 200 F temperature. It heated to 155 degrees and would go no further. It took 3 frustrating hours of opening and closing the valves before I could get the temperature to rise to to climb - 160 - 165 - 170. Repeat - 172 - 174 - 176 - 180. Keep repeating.
I finally hit 198 - then it dropped back to 178.
Keep doing it - and finally it hit 200 - and dropped back to 180.
I didn't give up - and the third time it hit 200 - it stayed.
Well January 2021 I decided to descale once again. I am back to the same issues - only this time I can't go beyond 154. The flashing light for heating goes off.
The is a major flaw with Oracle machines and there is many who have experienced this issue. Why hasn't Breville come up with a fix to this issue? I was ignored in 2019 by Breville and likewise I expect you will do the same in 2021.
Well, I have found a solution. Found it in some instructions Breville sent to a customer in the US on descaling the Oracle. So after you descale and the unit starts reheating - but only hits the 154 plus degrees - you need to open and close the valves several times until you get to 160. Turn off the machine - go to bed - in 8 hours turn it back on - presto it will return to 200 degrees. Problem solved. And yes it worked for me in January 2021 when I did the annual descale.
Brilliant video!!!!!
Good job from a retailer
Why no water draining out?
May I ask you... How to descale breville oracle touch BES990? Can breville support make an video for us?
Thank you
The BES990 descale procedure is really really easy. Step 1: Allow the unit to reach 200°F. Step 2: Go to the settings menu (little gear icon on the top right) and select Descale. Step 3: the Oracle Touch may take a couple minutes to get to the correct temperature for descaling, but will then say "START". Step 4: Just follow the On Screen instructions on the screen.
@@BrevilleSupport my machine is now stuck showing VALVE(?) error code.
It won't go past 160 to heat up. I just spent 5 hours searching online for a solution...this is a known problem when descaling the machine (which your company requires us users to do!!!) . I live in Canada and need this rectified as I'm out of warranty and the machine was running perfect fine prior to this nightmare.
Mine Is 1522 so now what
Great machine the best before they made all in chine
