I turn these episodes on at work and when you said “He is force-fed the entire hammer aisle of a Home Depot” I raised concern from my boss for laughing so hard. Love you guys, thanks for everything.
13 Shaman in a trench coat made me laugh harder than it should have. Also when demons run for the hills you know it’s bad. Also the ad for rubric was hilarious. I feel bad for the thousands sons.
I never before thought about how the Sons must have reacted upon reaching Prospero. Seeing an entire culture built around psykic potential, with the city manifested by the will of psykers. Must've immediately felt like home.
I feel like the problem that the thousand sons had at the Council of Nikaea, is that the email headline said that the council would be figuring out what the Imperium next steps with Psykers would be. The Sons interpreted it as a debate about whether or not they should loosen the restrictions, while everyone else knew that it was really the last chance they had to explain why they shouldn't execute every last one of their legion.

Oh I was hoping you would cover the part where Ahriman fought the Ynnari and Yvraine in the webway and the Eldar trolled the ever living hell out of them! Quick summary for anyone reading this and wants to know; Ahriman and some 1K sons ambushed the Ynnari in the webway and Ahriman had Yvraine and her forces by the metaphorical balls. At one point, Ahriman encounters Yvraine and her little entourage amongst the chaos of the battle and telekinetically lifts them out of the webway corridor into the raw warp where their armor and bodies literally start melting as if submerged in acid. Yvraine then goes all "You know Ahriman, we can make a deal if you let us live! I can cure the flesh change!" and Ahriman is all "pft as if bitch, like you could cure the flesh change". Well, being the chosen one of the Aeldari god of death does have some perks and one of them is apparently curing the flesh change. Yvraine presses her hand against the outer wall of the webway corridor, does some psykic shit, and immediately A DOZEN rubric marines change back into their fleshy forms. All three are in a daze but fully aware of themselves i.e. it's not a trick Yvraine did actually change them back. The shock, grief, relief, and happiness Ahriman feels cannot be overstated; he is described to have pulled the Aeldari back into the webway after cupping his hands, shouting in pure exaltation. It's also described that his shoulders shake uncontrollably so he's probably crying. Immediately after they're all back inside, Yvraine orders one of her forces to use their sword to smash a portion of the crystal webway, causing something akin to opening the emergency door on a plane as the 1K sons are flung out into the warp while the Aeldari brace themselves and hold on. Ahriman screams in denial and rides his floaty disc straight into the warp after them with careless disregard for his own safety.
I can only imagine the relief he feels seeing his brothers fixed from his mistake, the thousands of years of guilt and shame from failing his brothers wash away and immediately get overshadowed by the sudden launch into the warp
Magnus and his legion are pretty well written and very fun to read about. Much like how Horus played Guilliman when the Heresy kicked off, Tzenntch played Magnus perfectly.
I don't know why, but for a few months now I've had this story in my head that Slaanesh found Magnus' fragment of childish sense of wonder, naivety, and playfulness. This Essentially gives her/him/it a Child Magnus which she just keeps locked away in a tiny paradise with some deamons caring for little Magnus. Slaanesh or a piece of her also then spends time playing with him and caring for him in an attempt to corrupt the fragment but while she does see it working, it's very very VERY slow. In Little Magnus' perspective he is basically living his childhood with a sweet adoptive mother who gives him all the love, attention and care he could ever want.
The Death guard are a special kind of terrifying. Seeing an immovable wall of borderline statues in rusting armor, and watching as everything around them just starts keeling over and dying before a single shot is fired is horrifying. Its even worse when you remember that whatever inside those suits of armor is no longer human, but a mass of diseased flesh fused with the metal.
Yeah, I'd put the Death Guard above Word Bearers in terms of Chaos Threat level. There's just something about the disease and agony they inflict that puts them above other Traitor Legions. Let's go for Death Guard, I actually know *very* little about Morty's stinky boys. ALSO, fun Fan Theory, some people think that when Big E offered Magnus the chance to mercy kill his sons and come back unto the fold, the Grey Knights were meant to be the ones to replace his executed sons. I don't *think* it was mentioned in the Grey Knights episode, but worth mentioning again regardless.
Also in the book Sons of the Emperor. It was Thousand Son in the tower keeping a barrier up. Sevator talks with Ahriman and they witness Kurze and Mangus arguing this. My first read of it gave me chills because the whole time. Kurze is casually sheathing and unsheathing his talons also emphasizing his words. The book itself is a collecting of short stories involving the primarchs. Real good read.

one point people forget (and this is a VERZ repetitive theme) is that Magnus was about to deliver the death Blow to Leman. But in the last instance Lemans 2 wolves jumped magnus, distracted him enough for leman to break free and THEN hit the eye.
More Space Wolves! Also a belated comment thinking about how you mentioned the paradox of the wolves and the Thousand Sons: I think a very appropriate way to think of the Wolves’ temperament from 30K to 40K is like that of a Bully who learns how to be a better person.
It’s more the nerd is bitter and didn’t adjust well to life outside school- so now the old bully looks at them and doesn’t feel bad about what he did back then, because by his actions they were degraded to prove those initial beliefs correct.
@SalvanousB45 that's way more accurate and also... the nerd will sometimes get drunk, drive over to the bully's house, and relieve himself on his lawn.
@@SalvanousB45Most important part of that was that the Bully was so big of a hypocrite that he caused the nerd to become the creep he accused him to be. Still I'd blame the emperor and malcador more since this was all foreseen and potentially desirable to them
I once had the idea for a homebrew renegade Thousand Sons chapter that managed to escape before the burning. The idea is just some really powerful psykers in dreadnoughts basically waiting to be annihilated. They're all able to keep things going enough to pose a threat given there's like twenty; but at the same time it's just twenty guys. The only thing they really have left is the unstoppable drive to never be dragged into chaos. Other than some prospero descendants that basically have grown into a surrogate family and a ship rocketing through space they have nothing. Those guys would be better off than their brother marines.
I loves the idea that after the sham of a trial, magnus slowly begins to cast a spell to split holy terra in two on a delay. Magnus is the strongest of his brothers when he tries
Love that Koda called out Fullmetal Alchemist with Magnus coming back missing an eye but Fleshchange is magically gone. I was thinking of FMA with the Fleshchange being like what happens when you try to psyker-tap the Warp and won't pay a toll first.
I see them more of an Icarus legion, they flew too close to the sun and now they're literally suffering from their fall. They are a lesson on humility imo

Interesting theory considering a high ranking Grey Knight (the founder IIRC) was a loyalist Thousand Son.
The effort put into this episode is top notch.
If anyone doubted your passion,
they most certainly began reevaluating their judgement.
Ave Dominus Nox, Brothers.
This was the only ad I
1. Didn't immediately skip past
2. Actually paid attention to
3. Enjoyed
Of course, I was then hit by UA-cam's ads, which ticked none of those boxes 😂
This episode is pure GOLD!
The trial and medical ad bits have really put this episode in my top fave 5.
My vote is for the Eaters of Worlds!!
I would LOVE longer videos like two hours or so… also, blood for the blood god
Magnus himself did nothing wrong.... But good lord did Tzeentch do everything in his power to make sure his fall was inevitable no matter what he did...
He didn’t do wrong, but there was a LOT that he didn’t do right too lol
@@comediccomrade5716 a lot of what magnus did wrong is directly responsible to E being a shit father and a worse teacher
@@BlyssOblyvionchange the word magnus and this applies to nearly every primarch.
@@no.notfromRDR angron particularly comes to mind here poor raging demon of anger.
@@khaledibrahim614 Angron being a rage monsters is because of the dark age of technology nails in his brain, not Big E. The only thing Big E did wrong was not just also save Angrons slave friends but that wouldn't have saved Angron or prevented Angron from being Angron. Angron at best would have been semi-loyal for a while, at best. That singular act wouldn't have changed Angron fundamentally from who he was forced to become.
Rubric by araman is the best bit you've done and I've watched most patreon and yourube episodes.
Now I need a charity bit with "In the Arms of an Angel" in the background.
When you realise magnus is just as much a reference to Edgar Allen poe as corvus corax
I was just thinking those two have THE WORST stories, the Thousand Sons and The Raven Guard the most tragic legions
@@inquisitorgrynthebandito2736The bird legions man…
This has to be one of the most fun episodes yet despite the Thousand Sons really being put through the wringer. That ad for the Rubric of Ahriman was hilarious. Also, Isyander really looks good in a suit, just saying.
I may be loosing my selfrespect here, but BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!
On a second note: 32:00 best intermission ever! You look FIRE on this suit Isyander, the UltraMug puled everything together :D
KORNE CARES NOT FROM WHENCE THE BLOOD FLOWS, ONLY THAT IT DOES!
CORN FOR THE CORNFLAKES!
@@OMartinez91one day you switches for fruit loop, the next you are putting blood on your Korn flakes! 😂🤣
I love Isyander's enthusiasm for this episode. Just surpassed Koda's denim stealers
Death guard, regardless of Nurgel or not they were actually the first intro for me into Warhammer and I’m not a huge Warhammer person but finding this channel was awesome and I’m happy to have found it cause it helped me learn a lot more about it, even if I won’t be joining the fandom in a huge way but I’d love to hear more about them so……
Papa Nurgle’s boys have my vote
The death guard was what i learned about first too. I read the Horus Heresy books out of order and read buried dagger first. Fantastic book
1:01:29
I love this. I just here a voice in the back of my head
"God help you, God help you, I will make sure you leave knowing less"
Hope we can all agree that we were all happy when we saw this episode length, bless the emperor!
I love how you mentioned that one of his kids was so handsome that people wept, and I instantly knew which one he was talking about.
Fulgrim, or Sanguinius but the most possible is Fulgrim
I still believe my head cannon of one of the 2 lost primarcs is a humanitarian saw the emperor for what he was and turned away
That's some mad heresy you got there. Have you heard of our lord and saviour, the Prince of Pleasure?
This is some heresy.

one point people forget (and this is a VERZ repetitive theme) is that Magnus was about to deliver the death Blow to Leman. But in the last instance Lemans 2 wolves jumped magnus, distracted him enough for leman to break free and THEN hit the eye.
More Space Wolves!
Also a belated comment thinking about how you mentioned the paradox of the wolves and the Thousand Sons: I think a very appropriate way to think of the Wolves’ temperament from 30K to 40K is like that of a Bully who learns how to be a better person.
they are like a bully who learns to be better, but when he sees the nerds he was picking on, he'll still talk shit about when they were in school
Space Wolves suck ass, I'm glad Magnus got back at them.
@@SalvanousB45Most important part of that was that the Bully was so big of a hypocrite that he caused the nerd to become the creep he accused him to be. Still I'd blame the emperor and malcador more since this was all foreseen and potentially desirable to them
Magnus embodies one of mu favourite phrases. "A clever man is most vulnerable when he's trying to be clever."
The bell tolls for the Grandfather's favorite children! Also I think we can all agree that a nearly 2 hour episode is a blessing.
I was sad when this didn't come out Saturday....I CRYED...HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO MEEEEE!!!!!
Anyways....Yay Deathguard!!!!!!!!!!!
I loves the idea that after the sham of a trial, magnus slowly begins to cast a spell to split holy terra in two on a delay. Magnus is the strongest of his brothers when he tries
Yeah. Magnus didnt lose to Leman. He lost to plot.
The stars have aligned that I&K and Adeptus Ridiculous both talked about the Thousand Sons (kinda) in the same week together.
Yep! AdRic did Magnus last Wednesday, which means that they will do the Thousand Sons this Wednesday. Three K-Sons related videos in a week, WOOHOO!!!
Does this mean that I&K will make a glancing mention of the female Cuckstodes in a few weeks?
Love that Koda called out Fullmetal Alchemist with Magnus coming back missing an eye but Fleshchange is magically gone. I was thinking of FMA with the Fleshchange being like what happens when you try to psyker-tap the Warp and won't pay a toll first.
The “ We must give our antagonist the most tragic backstory to identify with and explain why they’re evil turning them into antihero’s” trope Legion.
I see them more of an Icarus legion, they flew too close to the sun and now they're literally suffering from their fall. They are a lesson on humility imo
@@dontgetmarriedNot really when they weren't taught the Sun exists while Daedalus plots their downfall
1:15:54 Are you telling me... That Magnus put Satan in a Pokebook...
I want to say yes and no. Only because the book changes so sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn’t. It depends on the inside of the book and what time period exist inside of it
death guard before the heresy i did like their shtick of “We are walls closing in on you” so id be down for a death guard video
Really appreciate how hard you commit to the bit in this one
Prospero's defenses in the Era Indomitus is the incarnation of a simple but twisted question: how much destruction could a good, wise man inflict if all of his compassion was focused into just that - destruction?
Who is a good man in this, exactly?
@@BoxCox Magnus the Red.
Loved it guys. Magnus is one of my favorites seeing the futility and horror of being a psyker in 40k
I really want to see your view on the World Eaters. Kharn has always been one of my favorite characters, and his daddy issues with Angron is always so sad to read about.
i found it awesome how you narrated it from the Legions perspective as it just shows the tragedy that happened to them even more. keep up the good work and Deathguard next!! FOR THE GRANDFATHER!
i loved the idea of magnus just crying while he sees his sons die untill his tears turn into lava and decides to take care of this massacre, and left with a wolf sweat shirt with the heart of his brother
1. Death Guard next, please
2. Magnus's shard that's concentrated Noble is grabbed and used by Malcador in a ritual to fuse it with Aravida of the O.G Thousand Sons, which creates Janus, the first Comander of the Grey Knights
I'd love to see a video on some of the Tzeentch daemon characters like The Changeling, Blue Scribes, and Kairos Fateweaver. But if I have to vote, I'm going for the High Lords of Terra
I got some sort of bad flew the past few days and this viseo has been cheering me up, normally i paint and listen but something comforting just listening
An hour and fourty five minutes on this one? I'm all for it!
Thousand Son' new motto: "Just give me a break."
Space Wolves: "Your terms are acceptable." *proceed to Leman Russ their backs*
" I don't believe in magic, so therefore it can't effect me "
Has to be up there with my paladin in dnd, my dm kept telling me to choose a deity to believe in " well my guy is a self made man, so he receives his divine powers, from the belief in himself " and that's how you get powers to kill a reborn deity
even if i wasent a thousand sons simp already this is one of my favorit videos i really enjoyed all of it
I want to say that you are my favorite 40k channel. Your videos do not undersell nor oversell a faction (except for time-constraints, but that is understandable considering the lore video format). Please keep making these videos.
High lords of Terra for my vote. I want to learn more about them.
I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE GREY KNIGHT SHARD. Please I'm building both Grey Knight and Thousand Sons for the table top
YOUR REPHRASING AND RESTARTING ALMOST WENT OVER MY HEAD!! i love the fallow through of the space lawyer along with the Tzeentch bits. OMG i laughed so hard and then got the " Oh Fuck" oh what his " deals " ment. this poor poor stupid ruby
I need that longer video. Having 12 hours of you two is the best i can imagine.
Yet another vote for Death Guard. Though i do love me some World Eaters too...
Thanks for another great one!
The editing was great on this one and I liked the few little extras ya through in. I love these longer episodes.
I so happy to see how much you guys have grown in what seems like not to much time. I been watching now for quite a while probably close to a year or so now.
Anywho, thanks again and I’m always looking forward to the next video.
Take care and peace.
Also, Death Guard is my vote.
Omg I just finished playing a game of Warhammer kill team and gotta go bed it's midnight I can't wait to listen at work tomorrow!
I don't usually comment but by the Throne this was glorious.
Hell yeah love more lore on Psykers and the Warp
That suit bit was amazing, please do more. Its nice seeing that side of it
The costume change cements this podcast as one of the greats
All Business Isyander is an interesting character development I have to say.
DEATH GUARD!!! PLS Since I found your channel I've been waiting for more on the Deathguard. They are my favourite faction :3
I absolutely love listening to yall while at work or playing games so longer videos really feel better for that
THANK YOU MAGNUS
First time comment, deathwatch is a must. I’ve been watching y’all since last year and have learned about 70% of what I know on 40k from y’all, keep up the good work!
Not even a big thousand sons fan but omg this was probs one of my favorite episodes
I absolutely love the effort you put in this episode ty :)
SMELLY BOIS!!! Great videos guy, cant believe we got 2 hours.
1. Throwing a vote for the Deathguard
2. Bring us the 12 hour Heresy video! I will absolutely watch something like that on a day off and make it a whole event for myself cuz I love y'all's content
Same to 2
I’d just treat it like I do normal episodes. Watch like an hour of it. Skip a day or 2 between watching and boom an entire month’s worth of Isyander and Koda off of just one episode.
Same to 2
THAT ADD WAS FANTASTIC, the rubric baby!!!!
Magnus did many things wrong, but he is very sympathetic.
Also please do Death Gaurd next!
Can we just give them credit for amount of work they had to put into the episode, by far my favorite so far!
