I don't care what people say, I loved DS2. I had no phone, no internet, and just this game for almost 3 months. One of the best gaming experiences I've ever had in my almost 3 decades of gaming.
Its a decent game, its just poorly made compared to da1 and ds3. Its sloppy, the movement was terrible and most of the bosses were very bad. Pair that with the completely unfair areas between and hype before release...it just made a negative userbase.
@@OrphanCrippler1 yeah the whole entire gam was a big Lost Isalit with "Pinwheel like" bosses (exceptions of course). That is another question that i liked both of them LMAO!
“Men are props on the stage of life and no matter how tender how exquisite a lie will remain a lie” what a line that can apply to so many different things especially in our world.
I started this video thinking “oh god, 2.5 hours? I guess Ill just watch a few mins for nostalgias sake”. So much for that. Ended up watching the entire thing. Very nice video.
Vendrick and Aldia have to be my favorite characters in the entire series. Their stories are completely interlinked with the player. The only difference is that their story tragically ended while still being told, and they refused to accept the outcome. It's extremely touching. They're maxed out players who beat the game and were so hurt that there's nothing left to do that they kept wandering the lands for answers, which in a lot of cases the player actually does. They would just be bosses in the other games, not such deep characters. In the other games, you see many of the bosses perservere after death, but you don't get to familiarize with their struggles, at least not to this extent. Here you encounter the brothers after death, clinging to their habits, which you as the player can confirm are consistent with their past because the game does a good job showing the passage of time and showing how long they've repeated their behaviors. They're so determined in death that you don't feel cheated out of seeing their past, but you also don't feel a palpable disconnect between you and them. The game's endings confirm that their stories started out just like yours. You can chose the path of the King, or the path of the Scholar, in the end, but as for their past, you just PLAYED it. The gameplay really completes the story and it's actually incredible storytelling. As King of Drangleic, who are your Throne Watcher and Defender? Lucatiel and Bashful Ray. Who are your main guards, the left and right hands? Vengarl and Benhart. Who is your queen? Shanalotte is. You have a kingdom, and you have all the things Vendrick and Aldia had.
Great comment. I've always felt that DS2 felt the most personal of any of the souls games. The characters and there stories and motivations were much more clear to the player than in previous entries, and I'm my opinion it drove home the whole 'everlasting cycle' theme that DS3 was trying to show in a much more nuanced way.
dark souls story is pretty tragic when you know what its about. demons were pretty much driven out of their home and taken advantage of n what not and you, the player, get coerced into destroying them by some guise of being the "chosen undead" to save everyone. YOU are the villain in dark souls. NOT the hero. unless you ya know, pick another ending lol. i think dark souls is the most like the berserk manga for sure. once i watched a vid that explained dark souls story i was like "wait thats the one plotline is berserk wtf" lol.
Never seen this deep a dive into DS2. Love seeing all the connections you have uncovered! Really puts the story solidly into true canon with DS1 and DS3. Keep up the great work!
@@Thebrotherscode Playing through DS2 right now in pursuit of the crazy rings (Exhalted and Conqueror, just got my 12 Rotten/Nito souls for the shrine of winter)...but anywho, I've got almost 500 hours into DS2 and you still taught me some new lore, I never realized that the lost sinner is pyromancer egil, makes sense since all the great souls are two-in-one's, I also never realized that Mytha was (Or could be) the wife of the Prince come King of Alken pissed at the princess of Venn for their undying love... Also, I began my quest for the two rings with a bit of headcanon...The two rings have the "Hidden" effect, almost seeming to make your character start to disappear from the game world, and as the two most difficult challenges the game offers...once completed, the player has finished the game and will "Break the cycle" by turning the game off and moving on to the next... I also had an interesting thought while watching when it comes to the aspects of Manus...Vendrick refers to Nashandra as, "One of the Father of the Abyss' spawn, that confounded quintessence of humanity." The word quintessence and the way it is used fascinates me. There are two different definitions which can be used, a "Highly concentrated essence" referring to Manus, or the more common use in ancient mythology, "The fifth of the five essences thought to construct the world: Earth, Fire, Air, Water, and Divinity." Nashandra, Alsana, Nadalia, Elana...I'd guess Manus is the 5th and thus purest form. But it made me think of the representations of the aspects. Nashandra/Want, Alsana/Fear, Elana/Spite, Nadalia/Wrath, creating manus, all the dark aspects of humanity...not sure about the exact representations, but love the writing in all of the games...sorry to ramble, but the whole franchise is so dang intricate and well crafted. Add in an addictive gameplay loop and I just can't ever really put them down...oh well, such is the curse of life...the curse of want...
I don't know who you are, but you dedicated a lot of time to make a two and a half hour long video about the story of a game a lot of people despise. You have my subscription and my respect. This is going to be a good watch
Seldom do I hear people actually say that they despise this game, at best it is their least favorite out of the souls-series. Actually come to think of it, I've never heard anyone say that they despise DS2.
@@berliaux I know a lot of people who love the game, however, I also know that each of them have thins that they very much hate about the game. It's flawed, almost incomplete at times, but each souls game is flawed. The issue is that people who HATE ds2 think that 3 is the best, or that both 1 and 3 are perfect, which they aren't.1 is the best, in my opinion, but there are some flaws I cannot stand about 2. the movement being the first.
I couldn’t sleep so I normally put on a lore video but I listened to this so intently with my eyes closed and could imagine everything! The story is amazing wow
"Men are props on the stage of life. And no matter how tender how exquisite, A LIE WILL REMAIN A LIE!" This one line will forever be my absolute favorite Nr1 dialogue sentence in the whole souls series.
I think DS2 is the most underrated in the souls born games so far. It feels more casual to me personally compared to DS1 or DS3 plus you can reinforce your armors
Dark souls 2 would have been far better received if it wasn't a soul name and named something else. It failed to achieve the quality and success of ds1 and in it's attempt to fit in the series in contradicts lore presented in 1 and 3. If it was named something else nobody would compare it to ds1 that much and it's sad because it has some very good aspects.
Damn fine work here! I love that you take into account all 3 games, and show how the lore links between them. For example, I had never made the connection that the demons were dying out in DS3 because the Chaos Flame was frozen by the Ivory King in DS2. It's amazing how connected the games are, despite how different they appear on the surface
I always assumed that the dragon above the Duke's Dear Freja was one of the dragons which was killed by Seath, not Seath himself. Either way, I went wild when I realized where I was during that memory, it's a shame they don't revisit it or show Gwyn/Nito/the Witch of Izalith/Seath fighting in the distance. That would have been amazing.
@@KuonilerariLoufanwald NG+ drops are gameplay mechanics, not canon. Freja defends a lord soul, rather than actually possessing one, hence why it is found on the ground behind her rather than obtained by killing her. My personal theory is that the dragon dangling directly above the soul is the reincarnation of Seath and that Freja killed it.
I just realized that ds3 ending where we painted a new world is exactly what Aldia wanted. “A path beyond the scope light light beyond the reach of dark”
I think that is reminiscent of Hidetaka Miyazaki using games as a way to create a new world beyond the tedious repetitiveness of real life and our own world history full of suffering and unlearned lessons. If you want to escape the world and its miserable rules, you gotta create a new one
Ive never seen such a passion towards that sort of thing before. Dark Souls 2 its a underrated masterpiece, that deserves recognition aswell as the other games in the series. Thank you, for making this video.
@@franciosdauteuil4626 Really? I find the strangest parts of it to be where Londor fits into the world's geography and when Lordran became Lothric (if we're counting everything below the High Wall, or at least below the Foot of The High Wall to be part of "Lothric"). Also the geographical location of The Ringed City and actual location of Ariandel's painting.
My favorite Souls game! I love how the reason Last Giant is so angry with at the start is because you’re the one who helped defeat the giants in the past.
When he tears his arm off in pure anger and desperation, no longer having a sword, he uses it to do the exact same moves as when you faced him in the past. I always thought that was a nice detail.
The plot involving Vendrick, Aldia, the Bearer of the Curse, the truth of the cycle of light and dark, and the attempts of those who seek to embrace, control or defy it is probably my favourite part of the Dark Souls trilogy. Thanks so much for this fantastic video, and I can't wait for the third part!
...I never realized the ruins found in the Dreg Heap were actually the remains of the Earthen Peak. As notorious as DS2 was for the series, I do love how it's still referenced on multiple occasions in the third game.
My headcanon is that the repeated rejection of the cycle by Vendrick, then the Bearer of the Curse, then Prince Lothric was what allowed the flame to fade enough to cause the events of Dark Souls 3
I think its the opposite. The repeated linking is what caused the flame to die. Even if the bearer of the curse refused to link it, somebody else would have.
The flame kept being linked so much that the time between cycles grew shorter and shorter. As you burn things in, say, a kiln or oven, ash accumulates. If you don't clean out the kiln after repeated burnings, you won't be able to burn as much or as long due to lack of room and ash smothering the flames.
I've always found it strange when people (like Vaati) imply that there have been rotations of light and dark ages when it makes way more sense that, given that alternate worlds are canon in Dark Souls, we're always playing in a world that has only ever known the linking of the fire. Solaire has been specifically claimed to have "returned to his world and linked the fire."
Raime is Artorias Reincarnated in the new Cycles. You literally find Artorias sword near Raime. The game gives that much detail to it that it tells you the sword does nothing unless you wield it with your left hand, and when you do it does 2 of Artorias special attacks. The difference between Artorias in the first Cycle and Raime in this Cycle is that Artorias was corrupted by the abyss unwillingly while Raime embraced it willingly. So poetic
If we're ignoring the Old Dragonslayer (which is probably more of an imitation ratehr than Ornstein himself) Velstadt could easily be Ornstein. It's said in a few item descriptions that Ornstein and Artorias had a kind of rivalry, and Velstadt and Raime had become rivals at some point, which led to the fight between the two that led to Raime leaving for Brume Tower, so the reincarnation theory does make sense. Even more due to the Lord Souls being in DS2
2:00:44 I think it's actually the Bearer of the Curse's triumph over Sir Alonne because of the Last Giant boss fight. If the Last Giant truly is the Giant Lord and he recognizes you when he sees you then it confirms that you weren't living someone's memory but actually going back in time just like the Chosen Undead did in Oolacile (throught differents means). If it wasn't the Bearer of the Curse doing the act but rather he relieving someone's memory in the past, then the Last Giant wouldn't recognize you neither Captain Drummond would say "You are not one of our soldiers. And I don't take you for a mercenary." But then again I have no idea how the Ashen Mist Heart works so...
That's the most likely explanation, that the Ashen Mist Heart sends you back to the actual events from the past - but you already did whatever happened there. So you're the one who killed the Giant Lord and the one who killed Alonne before his armor and weapon were brought back to Brume Tower. Chancellor Wellager also mentions that you're the one who slayed the Giant Lord.
This is my favorite video on UA-cam, I’ve watched it like 50 times! Dark souls 1 holds a special place in my heart and will forever be my favorite game of all time. Thank you gentlemen!
Omg i was waiting for a good ds2 lore video for such a long time, if this is anything like your ds1 video then it will be amazing, cant wait to finish this one!
This is the best comprehensive DS2 lore video on the internet. Kudos to you two gentlemen and I hope we get to see more from you on other franchises as well.
Dark souls 2 is my favorite of the Dark souls trilogy. Maybe because it was my 1st From Software game, but its felt so removed from the familiar narrative of Dark souls 1 & 3. It removed itself from the overall theme of the player character sparking the next age and instead went on to tell a separate concept of existing outside of the cycle; a very intriguing concept never thought possible within the realm of the Dark souls universe. It stands on its own, and really shows how many cycles the lands of Dark souls went through until they could finally move into the Next Age. Dark Souls 2 depicted just how much suffering humanity endured in the Dark Souls universe, clinging on the small possibility they could finally transition to the next Age. From Software has been making the best games I've experienced in the past decade, really grateful to be alive to play them.
From the Dark Souls Trilogy, I started them with playing Dark Souls III first, and then I played this game Dark Souls II next, and I fell in love with this game more than Dark Souls III. After I spent my time lost in Dark Souls II, I then ended by playing Dark Souls and after playing the entire trilogy backwards, I still loved Dark Souls II the most. There’s just something about this game that connects with me and many others that love it. “We must be Feeble Cursed Ones”
Amazing video! I've always felt that Dark Souls 2 story/lore is so underrated by the fanbase. The idea that no matter what you choose you are doomed to be stuck inside the cycle of light and dark was very interesting to me. DS2 focused more on the curse itself rather than the lighting of the bonfire. Then DS3 took a step back in my opinion and focused again on the lighting of the first flame until the DLCs where I felt it kinda rushed the breaking of the cycle.
@Weyland Punani It's a lil' more complicated than that, but tastes certainly do have a big factor in the enjoyment of the game and the story it presents.
@Weyland Punani except it is, many just write off DS2 in it’s entirety and even try to act like it’s not canon, even when prevented evidence to the contrary.
You know what I don't like about it, is that the world in DS2 should have been DS3, while DS3 should have been DS2. With how much DS3 has so many location call backs to DS1 it was jarring, as if there wasn't so many kingdoms and history in between. Dark Souls 3 should have had a world more akin to Dark Souls 2, so that you understood that so much time has passed. The Ringed City at the end of the world and the dreg heap would have that much more impact, a place from the beginning, a final call back to the first age of fire. The world in DS3 was perfect for the in-between, it has enough of the old world that you could see that time has passed but it was already being buried and changed. That's just what I think anyway. The DS3 we got was more like fan service. Eh I still loved playing all 3 though so whatever.
I love Dark Souls 2. I have played through it so many times and I just love it! Majula is my favorite hubworld ever with how peaceful the scenery and music is.
I don't even know where to begin. This is absolutely incredible. The effort and labor that goes into this one video is insane. Well done, The Brother's Code. Looking forward to see what you'll do next!
I like the concept of DS2 because it puts humanity in the forefront of the crisis, yet ironically they make the make the same failed attempt to stop the dark that the gods did. It interesting going through the game trying to see what humans did, how they failed, and if any succeeded.
So glad your channel exists, you two have given me an even deeper love and appreciation for a series I was already a huge fan of. Please keep making these.
I'm amazed, given how old the game is and how it was a fairly polarized entry in the series, that there is still essay videos being made. The Dark Souls series deserves its mark in gaming history
This video is beautiful, I just started ds2 sotfs prior to having no experience and knowing nothing about any dark souls games, and watching this really made me dive even deeper into the lore and the love of the game, thank you for all your hard work!
So pumped your explainations for ds1 and bloodborne are litteraly my fav lore vids for fromsoft games. The music and the full fleshing of all aspects of the story. *chefs kiss*
Dear god I’ve been updating the channel home everyday since you announced that project and I’m not disappointed, not even a bit, this is everything I wanted and even more Thank you for showing some love for this game, it was my first souls game and as such, it holds an special place in my heart even tho it’s not arguably the best among them. I love this game’s lore and you guys told it perfectly ❤️
@@Thebrotherscode “He did not look for the gods for answers, but believed in man to seek adversity” I’m still crying at this line because this describes Vendrick so perfectly, it’s so good to see this passion and I’m so happy that even distant, we were able to share the same experience by playing DS2 first, it helped me in my struggle with my depression and I’m sure that just as the game do help people, you guys are doing it too, you already did help me by making my day going from a 0 straight to 9.9/10 and I’m sure a lot of your viewers felt the same 🥺❤️ I CAN BARELY WAIT FOR THE DS3 VIDEO (greetings from Brazil btw and I’m sorry for the poor English :/ )
Some of these shots are beautiful, they really elevate the video. I'm currently replaying DS2 and stumbled upon this video, definitely going to follow your work.
2:25:39 You almost got it right, if you had stopped with the Bearer of the Curse accepting their role in the cycle, but you got wrong what a lot of people get wrong about that ending because they think of it in the terms of DS1. Choosing the Throne of Want is not choosing to link the First Flame, it is choosing to take on the burden of the True Monarch, to be the one that will decide _what_ to do with the Throne and by extension, the First Flame as well. That is because in the original version of the game, there was only one ending choice. "You, who link the fire, you, who bear the curse… Once the fire is linked, souls will flourish anew, and all of this will play out again. *It is your choice…To embrace, or renounce this…* Great Sovereign, take your throne. *What lies ahead, only you can see."* - Shanalotte ending narration Both open endings of DS2 gives us something no other Souls game does, true choice to imagine the ending of our character. If I think my BotC fulfilled their duty and became a Lord of Cinder, then they did. If I think my BoTC choose the Throne to "renounce" their duty and snuff out the flame to become a Dark Lord, then that is a possibility too. If I think my BotC took those Souls and built a new kingdom in Drangleic dedicated to worshiping the true divine Trinity, the 3 little pigs of Majula, no one can tell me that's not a possible ending. Once the doors on the Throne close, "what lies ahead [for my BotC], only [I] can see." The Walk Away from the Throne ending gives us even more freedom to imagine the ending for our BotC, free of the burden of being the True Monarch. In walking away, perhaps I returned home to my family or used my near immortality and acquired power to conquer the world outside Drangleic, anything is possible.
This was so fucking amazing, i just hope we get this for DS3, Demons Souls, Sekiro and eventually Elden Ring. Super entertaining and super high quality! Keep up the awesome work!
Thank you so much, your kind words to appreciated. We will definitely be covering all the above titles that you've mentioned, its only a matter of time! ❤️
Really enjoyed watching the video, perfect kind of video for me who love long videos, lore, nice music and narration as well as intriguing fantasy stories and of course the side-stories within those stories. Will most probably download and listen to again when I'm doing whatever. I also have to say that your choice of words in the video was brilliant. Thank you Bros
As a new fan of the series after trying the first game again after failing miserably with it as a kid, thank you for these. Learning the lore behind Dark Souls 1 and 2 through these videos has been amazing, and made me feel new sympathy for many of the characters in them. Thank you for the great work. I cant wait for the video on Dark Souls 3, the game I'm currently playing through
It's very interesting to see people make the same mistake as those from generations prior, without even knowing the Name of who came before, that's something I never could've guessed from just seein or playing the games themselves. And I didn't expect to feel so strongly towards the Ivory King, that man was an absolute Gigachad, so hearing he ultimately fell to what he tried to stop actually upset me a bit 😞
100% couldn't agree more. It's very telling that humanity just refused to learn the lessons from past generations. In our hubris we think we won't make the same mistakes as our ancestors because "look how much we've grown! Look how much we've changed!" when in the grand scheme of things we are wired the same way as our ancestors from just 2300 years ago compared to the what, 100,000 years when we reunited after the iceage.
@@Sc0rp83 It became a Meme from Incels using Chad and Stacy for conventionally super attractive and successful people who sleep around a lot. Eventually people laughed at it enough and Gigachad is basically a new word for incredibly badass and cool

Dark souls 2 is the best souls game in my opinion. I love its lore just as much as I love the game. Masterfully done thank you for your beautiful video.
These videos are beautiful from the carefully constructed information, to the time taken to animate lore accurate scenes, and music choice. Thank you for the effort and excellent job overall.
I’m really thrilled with this video, it shows how much effort you’ve put in, and it’s definitely one of the most favorite dark soul presentations I’ve watched. The music is incredibly touching and I like it so much that I don’t think you could have found a better one than this one.

Honestly, Youre the first youtuber to make sense of this very cryptic story. I loved your narrative....you got a new subscriber ;) keep going with the good work. Cant wait for ds3 video.
DS2 even with its flaws was a breath of fresh air, it still feels more unique than DS3 which I feel played it way too safe and was less interesting of a game.
Ds3 will always have a special place in my heart that was my first souls game I played and through 5 or 6 different characters and builds and hundreds of hours just trying to beat it. Amazing work, please keep up the good work. You've earned a sub in me, I love hearing stories of lores like this. Especially dark souls have such a deep lore that it is not really easy to do what you've done by explaining each and every character and his or her ambition and story. I loved all of it. Brilliant.
This was not only the best "DS2 explained" video I've ever seen. It was one of the best Dark Souls lore videos I've ever seen. I can't stand long videos at all, but this kept me til the end.
Never have I thought of how deep the lore, plot and storyline of Dark souls 2 goes. This was just beautifully done and i really loved the way you guys said everything in a specific order. That covered each and everything, every npc, every boss, every key item, and Cursed undead you play as. Great Work ❤
I've watched this video, the dark souls 1, and bloodborne one countless times and i still get chills with your narration. It has really inspired me in my own writing. Thank you. I can't wait for the Dark Souls 3 one.
It is so complete: quality, story, ambience, all the texts timeline is incredible and blows my mind on each chapter, mostly on the last one im always amazed because all the info from all chapters come back realising the fine and timeless structure from the art that dark souls is. Amazing video and hope it gets a DS3 and a Elden Ring video soon. (Ps: i was tired of looking on fragmented lore videos, the complete details took me the most but all the quality really makes it tons and tons better)

@@Thebrotherscode you've done a fantastic job!

@@berliaux I know a lot of people who love the game, however, I also know that each of them have thins that they very much hate about the game. Dark Souls 2's story is underrated. It's a far more personal and subtle story.
@@zwhsantwnopoylos5972 It's one of those games that would have benefitted from more time in the oven to become fully realized

@@kadewilson9142 yea cuz it sucks
Damn fine work here! I love that you take into account all 3 games, and show how the lore links between them. For example, I had never made the connection that the demons were dying out in DS3 because the Chaos Flame was frozen by the Ivory King in DS2. It's amazing how connected the games are, despite how different they appear on the surface
Truly mind blowing innovation that numbered sequels of the same franchise are related. Crazy
Or even just dragons flying overhead with lighting spears bombarding them from a distance
Cause it's after that
The dragon in Freja's arena isn't Seath; Freja is Seath reincarnated. Hence why you obtain Seath's soul from her on NG+.
@@KuonilerariLoufanwald The soul obtained from the ground IS Seath's soul, as well.

Dark Souls 2 is the one where the lore is still strange to me compared to the other, so... Cheers for making this.
Yeah 3's is easier to follow since it much more clearly links up with the first one's story and world.
I am sorry but its ds3 that has the weird lore
@@franciosdauteuil4626 Really? I find the strangest parts of it to be where Londor fits into the world's geography and when Lordran became Lothric (if we're counting everything below the High Wall, or at least below the Foot of The High Wall to be part of "Lothric").
Also the geographical location of The Ringed City and actual location of Ariandel's painting.
It would be nice if they made a dark souls based around the beginning, middle or end of the war with the everlasting dragons.
@@franciosdauteuil4626 ds3 lore is way easier to follow though
Thought ds2 story was deeper and way more complex i will never forget how after my mother died this game touched my soul
My favorite Souls game! I love how the reason Last Giant is so angry with at the start is because you’re the one who helped defeat the giants in the past.
Yea that part was a real mind-bending realization. It makes that fight so much cooler than its initially presented.
When he tears his arm off in pure anger and desperation, no longer having a sword, he uses it to do the exact same moves as when you faced him in the past. I always thought that was a nice detail.
Finished the game yesterday, and this video became the white noise in my ears during work, love it!
It's best to embrace it.
...I never realized the ruins found in the Dreg Heap were actually the remains of the Earthen Peak.
That's probably right.
@@NottherealLucifer Vaati is a damn hack who steals others content to make money.
Cff
Doesn't Artorias use his right hand in ds1? I may be remembering wrong but I thought his left hand was the limp one?
@@ArirezzIt’s cause his left arm is broken when you face him.
@@ArirezzArtorias was actually left handed but his arm was broken when we fought him in the DS1 dlc
And I don't take you for a mercenary."
But then again I have no idea how the Ashen Mist Heart works so...

The brother's code, your content has a special place in my heart
Amazing video! I've always felt that Dark Souls 2 story/lore is so underrated by the fanbase. The idea that no matter what you choose you are doomed to be stuck inside the cycle of light and dark was very interesting to me. DS2 focused more on the curse itself rather than the lighting of the bonfire. Then DS3 took a step back in my opinion and focused again on the lighting of the first flame until the DLCs where I felt it kinda rushed the breaking of the cycle.
Like in everything, fans are the absolute worst.
@Weyland Punani maybe because most of the flaws people attribute to DS2 are shared by 1 and 3.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for not skipping my favorite Souls

I like the concept of DS2 because it puts humanity in the forefront of the crisis, yet ironically they make the make the same failed attempt to stop the dark that the gods did. It interesting going through the game trying to see what humans did, how they failed, and if any succeeded.

"You, who link the fire, you, who bear the curse…
Once the fire is linked, souls will flourish anew, and all of this will play out again.
*It is your choice…To embrace, or renounce this…*
Great Sovereign, take your throne.
*What lies ahead, only you can see."* - Shanalotte ending narration
Both open endings of DS2 gives us something no other Souls game does, true choice to imagine the ending of our character.

Great Work ❤
You’re welcome my friend, we appreciate the kind words! ❤️
Honestly this series has made me really contemplate the big picture questions of dark souls. So great
Words cannot express how amazing this video is
I've watched this video, the dark souls 1, and bloodborne one countless times and i still get chills with your narration. It has really inspired me in my own writing. Thank you. I can't wait for the Dark Souls 3 one.
That's amazing to hear, good luck with your writing friend, and thank you for the support that you've shown, it means a lot! ❤️
Can’t get enough of this channel, and I’ve been around since the beginning!
it’s a privilege to be able to enjoy such high quality content, and for FREE no less.
Finally in a position to help support these amazing videos and the amazing folks behind it.
You’ve earned a new patron today!
Thank you both for the deep dives into this series that I love. Really looking forward to seeing the dive into the third.
Originally watched this so I didn’t have to play DS2 but this was such a captivating video. This lore is amazing.
These documentaries are so good, enriches the gameplay of the game so much, thanks for the content!

Thank you my friend, we're happy to be of service!
Thank you very much for making this video! The lore of Dark Souls 2 is probably my favorite out of the three and you guys made a well made presentation of its story. I can't wait for the third one to come out as you guys make this lore videos so well. Keep up the great work!
Pretty sure nassandra didnt care about cycle of light and dark at all, all fragments simply wanted to be whole and sought strong souls to substitute their lacking.
