If you are watching this video, you are attempting to replace a hose in hopes that you can fiix your idle problem and/or clear an emssion code. Be aware, you will soon learn that this video only covers 1 hose. In total, you need to replace 3 hoses and a check valve to fix your issue.
The video does a good job showing you how to change 1/3 of the hoses. Don't waste your time replacing a single hose. Find another video and remove your supercharger and replace all 3 hoses. Simply, 3 hoses are connected together and If one hose is trash, the other 2 are junk as well. Don't replace 1, replace all 3.

Just doing this at the moment. I didn't have the tool and couldn't get the troublesome clamp off, so I've unscrewed the MAF sensor to get the air box out. That was difficult in itself as there's 3x T25 screws holding it on and took a range of attachments to get them undone. Atleast I did it without the clamp tool.

Very good explanation of every step. I just bought a 2005 C230. Want to get started on basic maintenance

I bought a $10. 13" needle nose vice grip tool to access hard to reach clamps but I also expermented with 13" needle nose pliers as shown in this video.
Needle nose pliers come with variable bite depths so on those 2.75 inch magnetic factory clamps one will need to dremel shave down the metal ends so the pliers will grip sufficiently. Elsewise, the can only be manipulated with one of two style of clamp tools. It is so much easier to use the aftermarket screw on clamps for smaller and larger hoses as seen in his illustration herein.
I was fortunate enough to have the specialty shop replace all my lower, smaller type hoses to correct shaking issues which seems to pop up on the M271 engine periodically. It didnt stop me from finding the time to inspect and detail my engine with the help of this channel.

You can disconnect the Maf sensor from the air box before taking it out and instead taking it out in pieces. It makes everything quicker and easier

Did the broken breather hose cause your car to misfire? I have noise in the same spot with rough idle and I have been battling a P0301 code for a week now.

I bought a Lufi XF plug & display dash mounted OBD2 display for my recent purchase E200k year 2006. At 750rpm idling speed with air cond switched on the air intake pressure is at -7.3psi, throttle body position at 17.2% open, MAF for air flow at 5g/second. It provide least 10 other readouts of engine parameters. SC kicks in only driving up a slope or a bit of aggressive driving of above 2700rpm. From the OBD2 display I could see air intake pressure going up from -1psi up to +7.5psi. If I am just driving alone and keeping at 100km/hr on a flat road the rpm will be at 2300 with air intake pressure by MAP (located after throttled valve body) ready at -2 to -1psi. There is other video by ecologicaltime which shows changing of torn breather hose just after and under the air throttle valve body. This breather hose will see +7.5psi air pressure back, from the supercharger, if not torn. If it is torn you will loose big portion of the supercharged air. A normal 1.8 litre NA engine in early 1990 have HP output of only 100 to 105. So supercharging basically increase the HP by 50%. Happy motoring.
