Huge fan of Tissot. Always properly priced for what you get. And why is everyone caught up in this 2000 dollar retail price? Who the hell goes to a boutique nowadays and pays full sticker? Just go to any grey market dealer and get it much cheaper. I paid 1250 for my prx chrono and couldn’t be happier with the watch. Even if the gray market wasn’t around, I still think the watch is worth 2k. But not more than.
No where. The Hamilton intra Matic chrono is like 500 bucks more and the mechanical model is very nice. The mido patrimony chronograph is as well but it's still not up to par. The next best chrono in my eyes is the Longines aviation big-eye or the spirit chronograph and they're 3000 dollars but yes significantly better movement wise. Then you have sinn with the 103, 206, 356 and 903 (now discontinued) and they're 2-4k dollars. That's about all the chronos with looking at below 5000 dollars where you get into a speedy or a Tudor BB chrono.
Imo this takes a nice piece that could be work daily or as a dress watch (regular prx) and complicates the dial to the point it becomes less versatile. Maybe it's just me, I'm not a huge fan of complications other than date windows (also think cyclops's are gaudy).
I've got the PRX and I was afraid that this watch might be too big for me just to find out that I have an 8-in wrist And I am outside the norm when it comes to watches. 😒 The 40 mm case size seems to fit just about right without getting the wrist gap. I may have to try one on to see how it feels but I love the way it looks. Otherwise I would get the Doxa 200 C-graph.
@@perpetuality it's one thing I like about the bracelet It seems to hug the wrist and distribute the weight evenly. I wear a Bulova quartz Chrono at work and it's over 180 g. When I put on a comfortable watches like putting on a comfortable pair of slippers 😊

Though they don't have something similar design wise; I guess this goes to show perhaps the Swatch group puts some thought in not canibalising its brands' ranges.

I tryed to like it, but for me chronograph without tachymeter make less sense, still the dial is well finished and you may use it to chrono 12 hours. The maximum you can stand with step mother ? 😂

Yes. Focusing on some BB Tudor dials, for example, has finishings way nicer than this and that's a $4-5k watch, well worth the spend. Nevertheless, this is good for the price point.
2k for a swiss auto chrono with a solid stainless bracelet? thats a good value! the finishing is still nicer than el-cheapo watches but not as good as a 6k watch. but still nice!

There are always better watches. I don’t understand your argument. Be that as it may, you think paying over 800 for any Tissot model is overvalued? How so? You say you can make a number of longline watches that are better? I can name a ton of longline watches that are not. Also, longline is nothing special. Falls in the same category as tissot as far as 3rd party movement, Swiss made but just a bit more priced than a tissot. Can you justify the higher price? Not sure that you can. In most cases, a longines watch is a lot more than a higher tier Tissot like the prx chrono. So if Tissot is overpriced, then longines is waaaaay overpriced. But longines make very nice designs I’ll give them that. And I’m always looking for a good deal on a nice longines watch so I can see why you picked longines for your argument.
You do realize that beat rate means nothing for accuracy right? Most high end Pateks and Breguets are at 18,600bph. It has a free floating balance and a far more efficient geartrain which is why it has a 60hr power reserve and still sits under +5 per day.
Actually this has the 4hz beat rate. This one is the chrono, nor the regular PRX. Not that it matters, the regular Powermatic 80 is incredibly reliable and accurate. I'd rather loose the beat rate and win on those. I own 3 watches with the P80 and they all work within COSC without actually beig COSC.
I am not saying it looks like a quality 20K watch which it does not. Merely that it resembles the design of a few of them for example the GP Laureato Chronograph
