Go into your Display Settings in Windows and set the refreshrate to 144hz. (windows 10-> rightlick on desktop, display settings, scroll down, advanced displaysettings and there you can change it). A HDMI cable should do 120hz, and DP cable 144hz. No need for a dp->hdmi or vice versa.

Yes, HP X34 have same display and mate coate. But if you are not working with text on a gray / white background this shouldn't be a problem.
@@Offspring30034 heh, i want this monitor mainly on work/coding and yes i will be work with text on gray... why is it problem ? Thanks
@@cosemdesiatsedem if you are working with text on a white / gray background look for a glossy or semi-glossy monitor.
Been using this monitor with my laptop for gaming- HDMI to HDMI.
Ive noticed that the FPS is locked at 60fps when using my PC. What cable do I need? I purchased a HDMI (PC) to DP (monitor), passive cable and it cannot detect the monitor.
Not too tech savy so plz spare me the sarcasm lol
Go into your Display Settings in Windows and set the refreshrate to 144hz. (windows 10-> rightlick on desktop, display settings, scroll down, advanced displaysettings and there you can change it). A HDMI cable should do 120hz, and DP cable 144hz. No need for a dp->hdmi or vice versa.
@@themadnes5413 The only options for Refresh Rate in the Advanced settings is 60-90Hz.
I have this exact display, and i can get +120Hz when my console is plugged in. Tried using that HDMI cable as well.
Thought that perhaps my PC couldnt pump the frames out at 1440p, but its a RTX3070 so that cant be right. Figured its the cable selection. Latpop has mini DP, figured i should find a mini DP to DP cable.
@@Oldylocks yeah that would be your best bet then, get a mini dp to dp that should fix it.
I'm in the UK and amazon moved it up to 600 pounds. Does anyone know anywhere else from britain and is at rrp or max 50 pounds extra
Scan currently has it for 500
What sucks is when your high end LG 34 ultrawide is failing and don't want to spend a ton of money. It is hard to find a decent gaming and photo editing ultrawide without looking at 4 year old "tech" released monitors.
Did you have the chance to get this monitor? I'd like to hear if the LG worth the extra cost
is it better than g34wqc ?
yes it is
how it work with a macbook ?
should work fine if it is your only monitor your using besides the laptop screen itself
it's not like im doubting the review.. but can someone verify if the monitor actually has FreeSync?.. I saw a couple of sites that sell this monitor and I don't see in the specs about the monitor having FreeSync.. usually they will put FreeSync in the specs but it's not there..
Also this or the g34wqc
the g34wqc is curved and has a VA panel. That's a big difference, and you should know which panel is better for you, or if you like curved or straight monitors.
@@andertheker8331 it is my first time getting a monitor and so I don't know what is the best
@@Shay-gq3ub VA panel is basically better if you want higher contrast, and a brighter screen. IPS is better if you don't like ghosting (look it up, I can't explain), and like faster response time (lower input lag), and better / more colours.
So basically you have to know if you like VA or IPS more. I prefer IPS, because I don't really care about contrast, and the screen in the review is bright enough for me.
@@andertheker8331 would ips be good for movies and streaming? Also thank you for the help
@@Shay-gq3ub yes for sure. Also keep in mind that many movies are 21:9 so the monitor in the review is pretty good, because you won't have the black bars at the top and bottom. (not in all movies tho..)
If you want to stream yourself tho you will need a second monitor for sure
Nice review. I would be very interested to see how the Sceptre E345B-QUT168 and GIGABYTE M34WQ compare head-to-head.
me too !
pls comment !
native 10 bit? are you sure!
gsync doesn't work with this monitor it says it's enable but gsync does not work as intended
I just got this monitor, but I can only get 110Hz max, does anyone know why? I've connected via HDMI1. I have GeForce 1060 3GB.
You need HDMI2.0 cable or DP1.4 to get over 100Hz
any major backlight bleed on the monitor? thanks
Hey, I've got few questions, because I'm also considering buying this:
* Are the colors accurate and vivid?
* KVM - PBP - does each side is fitting nicely, or it has black bards / "squashed" resolution?
* How is the flat panel vs. curved?
@@dareemmanuel6079 no, not at all.
@@guyoren6753 I can’t comment in colour accuracy as I do not have the equipment to test it, but the colours are good in my opinion. I highly doubt that you can get a better monitor for this price.
need this
Honestly, between choosing this or the Asus VA VG34 ultrawide is kind of a difficult choice 🤔
What did you got with?
@@alecm9936 Neither yet. Still shopping around looking at other ultrawides in a similar price range.
@@CtKEngageOh okay. I think the Dell S3422DWG is a good alternative to the Asus.
@@CtKEngage Are you from the US? I’m looking around in Canada but am finding it difficult to get something for a good price.
@@alecm9936 I'm in the U.S. I don't know how the Canadian market is like, but most of the people posting reviews for monitors will usually have an Amazon CA or other retailer link for the product. Just keep and eye out.
I own this one and feel it a little bit overwhelm in the horizontal, it make you a little distract and hard to focus. If it has a slightly curve ligh lg 34gn850, it would be even better. However i think it would raise the price by pretty much
Review the HP X34 feel like it's better than this monitor
165hz on 8 bit, lesser feature. both monitor can do 144hz 8bit+frc(?). I would just take whichever cheaper or better deal
@@sayacee5813yea it does 10 bit at 144hz
@@sayacee5813 The HP is 100€ less here in europe, you say its the same basically? Because that would be a good saving for me
@@froznfire9531 its basically the same, hp got 165 hz option, a more standard looking stand
the gigabyte have more feature
i would just take which ever cheaper on ur region. the gigabyte is also around 100 usd more expensive here
@@sayacee5813 So the panel is the same? Since the Gigabyte has better ratings from the manufactures liek 117% sRGB vs 99% on the HP?
165 is nice addon, the features I dont really need and it looks less gamer like which is good imo
Hello, everyone!
I'm in doubt between this one and the Dell S3422DWG.
I'm a lawyer so the main usage is going to be working with word, pdf, browser etc.
Can anyone help me decide?
both monitors are excellent for their current price. however, the dell has a va screen. they tend to have a sort of smearing effect (most noticeable when scrolling through text with a white background) and since you're probably going to be looking at primarily text, I'd suggest this monitor. it is a matter of personal opinion though, but the general consensus is that ips is better for text.
Hi, how would you compare this with MSI MPG341QR. Trying to decide between the two as my budget is around the $500 range for an ultrawide. Thanks!
What did you end up gettin? and how do you like it so far? im really struggling to find a monitor. i want 34 inch 144hz minimum and good vibrant colors.
@@noisedeckofficial If it's for primarily gaming go with the gigabyte one. If not then. there are many VA options starting from 339USD
What's the name of the racing game in the video? Looks beautiful.
it is forza horizon 5
Review the xiaomi mi 34”. 300 USD
The 15w usb-c is super disappointing. Cant power a laptop so you still need 2 cables
have you tried a 2% keyboard yet?! The one you have seems too bulky and takes too much space.
Just picked this up on eBay for 250!
How are the colors and the flat panel? Do you wish for a little curve? Are you able to use a laptop and charge it while using it with the type C port?
would totally buy this if it had a 1000 curve... would pay more for it too...
Just bought it, it's a great monitor. Go for it. Speakers are utter and complete garbage though.
Hey, I've got few questions, because I'm also considering buying this:

M34WQ and M34WQC is totally different monitors
Not totally different same except VA vs IPS
No 4K?
Wounderful Species $500++ M34WQ IPS monitor. So colourful like SONY TV. also much much more cheaper then those Greedy expensive MSI Monitor. (So expensive & Easy spoil too MSI : D ) 😜 MSI Monitor so Blurry too. Unsharp.
FNIALLY
I wish this had a curve :( that's the only thing that holds me back from buying this. I feel like an ultrawide needs some sort of curve since it's so wide
I own this monitor and TBH I feel like I don't really need a curve at all for me. In fact, it's 100% usable and my fov is able to see the entire screen even while being so wide.
I could had gotten a curve but I went for this one and I'm more than happy with it.
@mitu123Copper yeah, you're right man. I was a bit of a monitor noob back then lol I went with the dell 3422dwg which barely has a curve and it's been great. Good to know yours is good too 😁
@@tre-ou5gt Oh nice. Hilariously enough I almost went with that exact Dell monitor but went with the Gigabyte to check how a flat ultrawide would turn out and it's much better than I expect it, I have no issues with it. But enjoy the Dell since it's one of the better VA ultrawide monitors in it's price range.
Can't even buy the M34 its out of stock everywhere
Curtin's is that not a thing anymore? I'm old so maybe everyone just lives there lives balls out now. 😂
Why am I watching this?
I have Acer x38p!!
G-MASTER GB3461WQSU-B1 - same specs but cheaper
High End VA > Nano IPS > IPS > Budget VA > TN (High end VA like the Samsung G7 or MSI Artymis)
Just bought it. Terrible mistake.
and why?
The M34WQ and M34WQC are different monitors, the latter is a curved VA panel.
Wrong. The G34WQC it’s the one with the VA panel. There’s no M34WQC, not sure where he got that from.
Colors look dull.
First
😜 MSI Monitor so Blurry too. Unsharp.
I think the m32q is better
It's not Ultra Wide, it has a bit higher refresh rate, but apart from that I believe you just choosing ether go 21:9 or 16:9.
