I am used to sit in front of a 24 inch screen and another one (the same) curved on an angle to my right. I try to understand how is it going to feel having such a wide screen, flat, from side to side. I feel like if it would be instead those two, I would constantly move my head right and left while working with two windows side by side. Does it feel weird?
@@xiaoyu88 I’ve gotten used to it to the point where I don’t think about it any more. In the future now that I’ve experienced the ultra wide I wouldn’t hesitate to get something mild with R1800 for productivity.
I bought it before seeing your review and i LOVE this monitor, my gpu is a bit outdated to drive it (vega 64) but the monitor is amazing. The power delivery is 18w (manual states 9v2A=18w) and that's plenty to normal charge most phones if needed. Love the built in power supplies and speakers that don't sound like crap.
Update for anyone interested. Mine died after a year, gigabyte monitor RMA is useless and broken. My retailer sent me a new one after it was sent out to gigabyte for repair and a month later still wasn't fixed.
I appreciate the review of the display portion of the panel but I feel that you missed a major part of the monitor when you didn't review the KVM functionality fully. I have several questions that the vendor seems either incapable or unwilling to answer that determines whether I buy this or not. 1. Does it support full EDIC emulation or will I have to readjust my windows each time I switch between devices? 2. Does it support N Key Rollover? 3. Does it support multi-button mice or just a traditional 3 button mouse? 4. Does it have DDC and DDM functionality? 5. Can the KVM be triggered by keypress or only by the button on the back? These are major factors those of us who use KVM's need to know to determine if this meets our use case.
Thanks for this review! The second half of my career is going to be remote and working from home. I have a BenQ EW2780U which is pretty good. But it's clear that a double wide monitor is more ergonomic than my laptop combined with the BenQ 27" monitor. So this is the step up I have been looking for.
must add that this is very likely the same panel or factory that HP uses in their x34 gaming monitor but pushed to 165hz, atleast the front is identical but ofcourse screen uniformity, overdrive etc don't apply there but yeah, seems that the panel itself is decent.

Awesome in depth and no bs review as always. I have a question, I'm planning on buying this monitor for my m2 macbook air. During your testing which cable did you use? and does it work well with the macbook air? Thank you.
We did test this with a MacBook and overall it works well with recent Macs (there aren't any issues waking from sleep). However, there are a few issues with the VRR and HDR support together. In games, there aren't any issues as they work well together, but when you're on the desktop, you can either enable HDR or VRR, but not both. With HDR enabled, you get a fixed refresh rate of 144Hz, and with VRR enabled and HDR disabled, there's a distracting flicker at lower refresh rates, so it's better to use it with VRR disabled while on the desktop. And we just used a USB-C cable we picked up from Amazon. Cable wise, as long as you have a proper USB-C cable, you should be good to go!
Does it charge a MacBook Air ? I would want to use this for both a MacBook Air M2 and a PS5 and I am wondering if this is the best ultrawide monitor for that.
Hey! While it does support DisplayPort Alt Mode, so you can display an image from a compatible source and charge it at the same time, but with 15W of power delivery, it's only enough power to extend the battery life while working. I bought the curved version of this monitor for my console. I was disappointed this monitor does not support 1440p 120hz via HDMI. Just thought I’d put that out there for those who might have that question in mind. It’s AWESOME for PC’s, just not for console since you only play at 60hz.
I borrowed this monitor, because i want to compare it with my Samsung Odyssey G5 34'' ... And I am little bit confused with score which got it. Yes M34WQ has better colors but for me that is all. Samsung monitor look better for work, looks better on edges because it is curved, white is better, contrast is better and text clarity is similar.
This is an IPS panel, so the colours are more accurate for prodictivity (photo, video editing). Personally i preffer flat panels over curved. What score is confusing you?

I just got the monitor but I am not really sure about your calibration. Nobody would ever use his monitor at a Lumincance/Brightness of 17 out of 100 (your post-calibration value).
