Till I'm numb
Yeah woman I can't feel a thing
Chorus 4-
Well I'm numb
Yeah woman I can't feel a thing
Well I'm numb
Yeah woman I can't feel a thing
I saw Gary Clark Jr. perform live for the first time as the opener for the Foo Fighters in Memphis TN... and also had the honor to see him again as the headliner at the MInglewood Hall in Memphis a few years later. Good stuff y'all!!
Gary is gonna bring blues back to the spotlight
Blues never left lol. And there's definitely better blues players.
So is Kenny Wayne Shepherd
@@roymoubray8131 Pea shooter is learning, might be good when he grows up
I hope so
@@alejandrocisneros7442 not about how good u play it's about how it connects with people.
It don't get much more raw, crunchy, and gritty than this which is what I enjoy greatly! Went to a Kings of Leon concert in Columbus, OH. years ago and I really only went because Gary Clark Jr. opened for them lol. I stayed for a few Kings of Leon songs, just isn't the same!
Man... He sounds nothing like Hendrix. Unless you count the fuzz.. Gary Clark Jr sounds like old school met new school. Heavy riffs with blues soul. Give Gary props for keeping blues alive and interesting. Don't compare him to Hendrix because he plays blues.. no one will ever be Hendrix and no one will ever be Gary Clark Jr..
No one Will be Hendricks.
+Ram Ben Hendrix!!!!
+Matthew Howe right on
+Matthew Howe Jimi Hendrix. If ye have such a reverence for the man, at least get his name right.
+Matthew Howe you can and should compare him to Hendrix. I'm a fellow lover of Gary's music the same as you brother, but he should be compared to the great Jimi Hendrix because he has that psychedelic style Jimi had. He is a combo of Jimi, Chuck Barry, Robert Johnson, and Eric Clapton. Don't be so nostalgic.
Lets not compare a musician to another, instead give this man some credit for keeping the rock scene alive in a scene that's now dominated by pop!!!!
Amen brother!
All right ! D'not compare this man to another one. HE IS !
Damn right
Word!!.Bro.
He Sounds .like 'Gary Clark.Jr' To me.!! never any reason to try n make comparisons Just try &,Live/Enjoy 'It in the moment..!₩-----:-:-:;-;-;••••••
Exactly
I saw him live in September, he swapped out his guitars for every song. I'd never seen anyone do that before. He's humble on stage, doesn't even stand in the spotlight, he let his band get the spotlights. He gave his opening act Jackie Venson an hour long set. He rocks hard and is a class act. If you get the opportunity to see him, do yourself a favor and go!
Bet
good observations. I've seen him give Zapata the occasional solo too, you don't see many frontmen do that!
I used to catch him at the old Antone’s and the continental club all the time before he went global! Look at him go, I say! He’s awesome! And yes, very humble!
@@jprmac1 Zapata makes my big toe shoot up in my boot!
jackie venson rocks.
Personally dont like comparing artists to anyone. While everyone is influenced by someone, every artist writes their own book. Every song, every lyric makes a chapter in that book. Just turn your headphones on, turn the world off, listen and enjoy. You like an artist for their particular skill set and explore from there. My 5 cents for what it's worth. Gary Clark is a huge talent.
Gary Clark JR my new obsession!
Thank God for Gary Clark Jr, Derek Trucks and John Mayer Trio. May the Blues strike down today’s so-called music with a mighty blow.
Thank You For keeping Blues alive You Hotter Than A Pot Of Rice Gary Clark Jr❤Numb It Is💯💯
This guy covers the Black Keys really well.
unreasonable women inspire fantastic music. just sayin
True
Lmaoooooo true
That's the damn truth
Words of wisdom my friend! 🙏👌
Heartbreak always inspires good blues. 😏
I like the whole song of course. But I can't help but get a little impatient knowing that at some point in the song Gary is going to tear the fabric of space and time and sear my synapses with his solo. I live for that shit man, brings me back to reality.
Ryan Sullivan I'm down for whatever you just said.
I'm with these guys...
I know exactly what you are talking about.
Yup I want whatever it is you wrote there bruh
I too live for that visceral gut wrenching feeling that can only be brought by a master playing the electric guitar. It can detach you from space and time to a place where the only thing important is the music being created. This man, Gary Clark Jr, has the talent and heart to bring you into his world, and that's a rare gift.
Gary Clark Jr, the guy who sounds exactly like Gary Clark Jr. Always loved that about him. Big support to you !
Gary for Super Bowl 53!!!!
The Social Experience I'm down!!
The Social Experience yezzzz!!!!!!!!!
The perfect sound to see my Saints bring home the trophy.
Yessss
Benedict Hirsch until you got robbed by the refs lol
YOU know what I dont give a rats ass where it came from, But I do know, Im just damn glad to hear some real music making its presence known again.
Jeff Snipes - I wish that I had thought of that comment. I concur.👍✌
He s got it ALL LOVE IT ALL THANK.YOU MAY 16 2021
I hope more people feel like you do, Jeff...
how the fuck did it take me so long to find this beautiful music
Trevor Teixeira same 😳
I just spent too much time listening to... dubstep. Far too much time
yeah this is real music not computer crap
WTF!
took me 24 years ):
To my ex wife, I loved her, married 18 years, first 10 were amazing, last felt like this.
Dude...:(
I feel you.
Something went wrong!
Just lost mine of 11 years. I'm numb
Facts. She waits to have a kid then leaves smh....
Finally, a new Legend has arrived! Gary Clark Jr has everything-rock, blues, falsetto, modern, outstanding voice!
What a righteous guitar.... He has always been such a outstanding gift of music to me...
OMG, the sound of his guitar is like food for my ears! so damn glorious & beautiful. thank u Gary! Mad respect.
Brought back my faith in guitar playing I hear with my heart and feel with my soul.
He's his own talent, artist & man. Congrats to Gary Clark Jr. for being recognized by the Grammy's for what he's bringing.
Black Keys are great at what they do. Gary is great at what he does. There isn't a competition, because Gary doesn't believe in it. Plus Gary & the Keys are rolling together so, they're not concerned with all that.
Said that right, son
Fantastic!! So refreshing to hear good blues artists still rocking it.
Such a sick tune. Blues baby.
Amazing talent! One of the best tunes I’ve heard in a long time! Must see live!!
fully agree!!! 💯
Just saw Gary at RFK on July 4th with the Foo Fighters. First time I ever saw him live. Very awesome guitar player and he really wowed the audience with a very cool sound dynamic. I must say it took me back many years to when a raw distorted guitar and a soulful voice said it all.
850 👎, seriously??? They're frickin' deaf!👂
So sad.
Infinite 👍 for all of Gary Clark Jr's music, especially "NUMB". Sure glad I'm not deaf. Gary, You are an amazing artist! THANK YOU!👍👍👍👍👍
Been following this guy for years. He is to the blues what Sturgill Simpson is to country music. A throwback with actual talent.
I'll have to look him up.
Sounds exactly like the singer of the black keys, I love this guy.
Um no, he sounds like Gary. Tf??
My God I love that guitar tone.
This is the problem with austin musicians we get spoiled and don't discover them for 10 years. This is top 5.. maybe top 2...this is amazing
Really digging this sound! Glad that found this artist.. Thanks to foo fighters for bringing it to my knowledge.
Henri Flame Gary Clark Jr. and the Foo Fighters in ONE SHOW!! That has GOT to be a night to remember.
Henri Flame the coincidence!! came to clark because of the foos :P
Here thanks to JRE as well. LOVING this dude's sound
#GARYCLARKJR #NUMB. The new soul and blues man. My younger brother from another mother 😄👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🎸🎹🥁🎻🪘💝❤️💚💛💖💜💙🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🇨🇱
That guitar sound.
Love this song.
This needs to be heard on all of the radios more often!!!
One part Beatles
One part Jimi
One part Lenny Kravitz
One part Black Keys.
Mix together
Results = Gary Clark Jr
God Damn FIRE....
Accurate, Brother. When he started singing I thought of the black keys. Amazingly unique sound that invokes memories of other great artists.
No. Just no.
Andy Mahle yeah pretty good call at that
spot on . fvck me is this epic. it got me close eyed head banging
Wrong its 100% Gary Clark Jr, stop comparing artists, its not a competition.
"The blues ain't nothing more than a good man feeling bad about the woman he once was with " 🎸Willie Brown - Crossroads the movie

YOU HAVE DONE IT , GARY !!! Awakened the RURAL areas of the country to B&W folks together through MUSIC.. Good Man !!!
Shared a couple of beers, a great conversation and a brotherly hug with him back in the day when he played The Continental Club here in Austin... Great to see how far he's come.
Giovanni Adrian God I wish I was living in Austin sometimes.. In Denmark you can't meet these kind of musicians..
Love this guy he's damn good.. I just learned about him
Clapton knows...
And found Rival Sons too.
this has been a mood for a year now
Fuuuuuck yeah! Never get tired of this shit man!! My God have Mercy! That's some ritual stuff! Feelin it tonite!
For all the young folks, this is what music sounds like, makes me think of another musician, the great Robin Trower
I really like him he reminds me of that old blues with a new feel 💖 it 🎶🎶🖤
Been watching Gary since New Orleans. Love him. He is is own man and his own style. I remember Stevie 30 years ago doing Hendrix. Stevie went on to be amazing. So sad he is gone. Very happy we have Gary. So Happy we have someone that loves what we love and continues and keeps up the amazing nessss....
Gary can do no wrong. What an amazing modern Blues man!
His pain will have to grow deeper, then we will feel Hendricks. He is still young.
I'm glad somebody's still making good music in the modern era.
Hands down best Gary song
Why am I just discovering such a brilliant talent. Better late than never though...
I'Nubiya Rhoden nowadays there's just too much music good artist slip through the cracks ......a Bazillion cracks
I wish he would do more songs with this vibe, awesome
Gary Clark Jr rippin shit up
Gary is Gary and Gary is a Blues Talent! Hendrix is a Has been!
Your Wrong HENDRIX STARTED IN THE PAST...SO THIS TALENTED YOUNG MAN WOULD HAVE A BRIGHT FUTURE.....period
I love Gary Clark Jr's Music and I love his fuzz sound
Holy shit this is good!
my thoughts exactly
absolutely
mind blown
never would hear this on sucky Denver radio
thanks you tube
WOW😎
Digging his sound
This is goddamn mindblowing!!!!
One of the greatest blues rock songs of all time.
Hope he brings out more music.
i’m in love with this masterpiece!💜
Dad just showed me gary clark jr last month and my research of songs have been amazing since, thanks dad!
i was driving down the highway today in the city and saw him on a billboard and was like who the hell is he. as you can see i look him up now a fan rock on!!
Gary is reinvigorating the blues.
Gary Clarke Junior is awesome and not emulating Hendrix...He is his own deal.
A great song done to perfection 😊
Black Keys and Gary Clark Jr. Take a note fellas, cause those guys will save the Blues.
Joe Bonamassa, bro
I forgot to mention him, my bad.
brandon whitley Joe B is boring. don't get me wrong, He's by far the best guitarist of this generation, but he fucking puts you to sleep after awhile
The Marcus King band is nice
For once i see nothing wrong with comparing Gary to Jimmy. If you are being put side by side to what is considered the best and legendary, that can't be a bad thing.
On the other hand, i get it when people say no to do so.
Totally appreciate the fact we got someone playing this sort of music nowadays, and play it the way we all like it. Modern legend!
Keep it going sir, awesome sound you got!
And that caddilac is so bad ass
This is a very unexpected blend but amazing. I love this song.
This song really resonates with me. Been there. Am there.💯👌
Taking the blues by storm 🎉🎉🎉
My new favorite😮🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
I am pretty sure I found a piece of my soul in that solo
no Hendrix no black keys nothing. just Gary Clark loving his guitar
Definitely not Hendrix 😅
All this arguing about who he sounds like WTF!!! WHAT ABOUT WHAT HE'S SAYING!!! Just an artist expressing himself and on point with most of us. We like it👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Anonymous Slaps. So true. He is his own man in the blues tradition but still unique. Been following him for about five years now.
Heard the first 10 seconds of the song and immediately saved to my Favorites playlist
I'm hooked on Gary Clark Jr.. and his band, watching them again at Bluesfest here in Byron Bay April, 15
I cry when I hear this song... memories of breaking down at my lowest point. Girl bailed on me, chipping away at 35 year old linoleum flooring from my basement that flooded in the house I couldn't afford anymore.
Crazy how close to the ragged fuckin edge you can be driven.. when you thought you found the bottom but it keeps goin'
Well I'm numb.. Gary bridges the ethos of emotion to instrument better than most.
Kirk Blackadar I felt this numbness when I came home from work to my guy all moved out... I hope you feel better they say time heals all wounds but only time will tell take care

@@katrienacarranza2998 yeah but now she found it So wet The Taste of it Yessss
❤❤❤ LOVE his music!!! So talented!!!
LIVE THE BLUES!!!!!!!!
just a breath of fresh air in music
opens like hendrix, finds himself jamming like sonny sharrock around the middle, kinda boring despite what was being recycled is still pure gold.
wow I didn't know rock and roll is still alive! love it man!
Rock n roll will never die it gets wounded sometimes badly but she always makes a speedy recovery and comes back stronger than before especially if she had the blues
La guitarra "sucia" de Gary está marcando tendencia y le da a su música un aire contestatario.
I love this kind of music!
Can someone help me to discover other artist like Gary Clark Jr.?
Dániel Dósa black angels, black keys...its not that hard dude, its the fucking blues mate.
Mike Truby Thanks mate!
Dániel Dósa felipe el hombre, royal blood, the black keys and black rebel motorcycle club
Mike Truby More specifically, blues rock. The Black Angels are psychedelic rock though. A bit different
Dániel Dósa Stevie Ray Vaughan....Ry Cooder, etc
I don't get why everyone makes this dude out to be a technical guitar virtuoso... he's got some cool riffs and style, and some catchy songs, but that's about it.
The new blues....refreshing. Gary Clark Jr. I'm so glad I found your music.
Best song. I'll literally listen to this till the end of time.
at about 2:40 when He pulls over plugs in and plays the guitar solo, that's power ⚡ I mean where did he plug the amp in at ?
Sounds like a blend of Hendrix, Black Keyes and Jack White. Nice sounds.
SoCalDualSport please guys do u know what song he preformed on jimmy Fallon by chance
Cade Kennedy the sing he performed was hold on
The album version sounds a but different from when he performed it on jimmy Fallon
I've been wondering how to put his sound into words... what you said describes it perfectly.
Austyn Moffat Music personally i perfer the live version. It feels more stripped down and raw and heartfelt
SoCalDualSport let's not forget junior kimbrough..who gave the black keys there sound(pretty much)
He doesn't have to cover anyone, he has his own sound.
Okay, youtube suggestion I thank you. I just fell in love ! That 🎸is on 🔥 and so am I
A bit of Come Together in that riff... but it's all good... love it. Fuck yeah!
a bit........
It's what it might've sounded like if Jimi joined the Beatles.
Stoner rock version of the Come Together riff? I really really need to do a record like this. Damn it.
Reminds of the Black Keys, I really like this
And that's never a bad thing.
Better than the Black Keys tbh.
Dan Auerblack
emmm... kinda
Andrey Polozov it's the fuzz
tremendous JRE
Although I have listened to this track many times, this is the first time for a long time I have looked at the comments to find 5years ago I left the last comment, I do hope that people have been watching this video because it not they will have been missing out on some incredible music and talent
That Fuzzz just makes my day !!!
This is pretty heavy
Joe Rogan Expirience brought me here. Cool music!!
yup
+Jimmy Salvesen First thing I did. Who is this guy? Hmm, nice.
Me too!
+Jimmy Salvesen Haha I just came for the same.
yup
He is the Kirye Irving of blues
MORE OF THIS GARY CLARK JR. Where has this been!!!!
Tbh, this song is perfect for an alarm. The first three seconds of audio screeching induced a panicked scramble as you find your phone to turn of the alarm before the main guitar riff
