[Lyrics]
Woke up in New York City
Lying on the floor
Just outside of Marcy's - West 54 "wow"
You gonna know my name by the end of the night "well"
You gonna know my name by the end of the night "well"
Bright lights, big city going to my head
Bright lights, big city going to my head
Bright lights, big city going to my head
I don't care no, no
You don't care
Start up with the bottle
End it up with the bottle
Taking shots, waiting on tomorrow
Trying to fill up, what's hollow
You gonna know my name
You gonna know my name
Bright lights, big city going to my head
Bright lights, big city going to my head
Bright lights, big city going to my head
I don't care no, no
Cause you don't care
Get lost in this city trying to find myself
I woke up with different versions
Came down somebody else
I know it ain´t right
But its song in my head
Wow I'm surprised
I'm still alive I should breathe in
Bright lights, big city going to my head
Bright lights, big city going to my head
Bright lights, big city going to my head
I don't care no, no
You don't care
You gonna know my name
You gonna know my name
You gonna know my name
You gonna know my name by the end of the night, well...
Brought my damn self here.
goddamn
I came by taxi grab. Here come the cops, gotta blast...
Bradley Stone Well done, sir. Me too.
Caspar Friedrich, huum, it does confirm a theory tho, dogs still out here I see. NICE SHIT.
Bradley Stone lmao for reals
This guy is severely underrated. So much talent and skill into this craft.
+Nicholas Nevola Underrated?! Mick Jagger called him the saviour of the blues 10 years ago.
+Tolo Gueca underrated in the united states, my man
He really is talented!! How do we get him noticed?
+Nicholas Nevola agree this fella is amazing!
I totally agree 😋
I'd been sitting at the bar for three hours, or about five years, depending on how you looked at things. I tried not to look at things. I tried not to think about when it was that my existence became less about the things that make up people's lives and more about the holes that losing those things leave behind, but I wasn't doing a very good job at it.
THE BLUES ARE FUCKING BACK!
Ron Burgundy Well, that is true. But I think Clark Jr is putting the blues on a spotlight that the Keyes didn't.
Ron Burgundy This dude is new. Black Keyes have already years in their career. But Gary Clark is well known.
The reason your just finding out about him is because his career is half that of black keys. Did the black keys blow up as big as gary clark jr by their first full length album? No. Did they get invited to Eric Claptons crossroad when still making their first ep? No black keys have done alot for blues rock but in double the time if not more of gary clark jr. Also I look at keys as more on the rock side of blues then gary clark jr who's more on the side of blues/r and b so comparing them is kind of pointless just like comparing any musicians for that matter
***** Yeah four years ago.
***** Thats right!
“I’ve been sitting at the bar for about three hours or about five years, depending on how you looked at things.."
-Max Payne
"I tried not to look at things"
I GODDAMN KNEW IT, THIS WAS THE BAR SONG!
"I'd been sitting at the bar for three hours, or five years depending on how you looked at things, I tried not to look at things. I tried not to think about when it was that my existence became less about the things that make up people's lives, and more about the holes that losing those things leave behind... but I wasn't doing a very good job at it."
I'm gonna be thinking about this next time I'm sitting at a bar.
Thanks for making me laugh! Sweet! 💋
This song gets in your blood, i've been coming back to it for a few years now.
Same here
Riots.... Worldwide pandemic.... Thank you Gary Clark Jr so I can just sit and chill and enjoy life.
Lol. I just woke to my very young Grandson playing this. Someone has got to teach these kids what good music is! I'm so happy he understood.
Your grandson has a bright future. 😉
We are determined to never lose you to the bright lights of the city #GaryClarkJr. You are our guitar man. We adore you and that exceptional guitar skill you possess 😀👍🎸🥁🎷🎺💜💙💖🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🇨🇱
I know this is dumb, but this music makes me want to blast it out loud af from really good quality portable speakers while walking / cycling in town, 80s style... Just to share it.
It makes me want to dance naked under a full moon with a bonfire.
this is far from dumb,...it's the idea that hopefully would make people think what kind of crap the majority of the world is listening to these days and forgetting that masterpieces like this exist
I’m 65 and absolutely blast it out..quite often 😄
It's 2022 and I still love this song. I had a chance to see him live in Austin at SxSW. He rocks
He is fantastic and looking forward to seeing him in September 2022 NJ
Just saw him at red rocks. It was magical
See him in Munich 2022
Masterpiece that hits the soul like no other, you just can’t not appreciate it 👌
"I'd been sitting at the bar for three hours, or, five years depending on how you looked at things."
I said something similar a few years back
I tried not to look at things
You had better never desert #Texas. #GaryClarkJr, You belong to us. We need talent like yours here 😊👍🎸🥁🪘🎻🎹🎷🎺🎵🙋
The guitars sound so fucking crisp its perfect 🤤🔥
This man is is the whole package but the guitar he is an absolute amazing and at this time. The best. His songs all have depth. Watched an interview he did he’s absolutely amazing. The guitarist to beat and it isn’t even close is Gary Clarke Jr. PERIOD
If ever a guy was born to have a guitar in his hands it's Gary Clark Jr. Would love to see him live...must be amazing!!!
Rheinmeister09 Stanley is top dog live. Lucky to see him support the Stones in Hyde Park (2014) and then he joined them on stage for a few numbers. Just go see him. 🤘
Gary Clark Jr. Killed it at the Beatles 50yr Tribute with Joe Walsh. OMFG!!!
This guy live is so special. There hasn't been anyone in a long time that can play blues rock n roll with this kind of flare :)
for real man. I have been to dozens and dozens of great shows and seen legends and no one fills the room with more electric energy as this man does. He truly is an artist who needs to be seen to be believed...even watching his live performances on TV or here on youtube doesn't even come close to the energy felt watching him live in-person
We agree! His set with JITV is epic. Check it out!
RenegadeZach seen him in Seattle best concert hands down n i seen a lot
RenegadeZach cojonudo
Gary Clark is that guy! Check out Joe Bonamassa as well same passion.
Literally discovered Gary when he supported Dave Matthews Band in Melbourne a few years ago (5?). Never seen or heard of him, but he opened his mouth and absolutely blitzed the performance. Went out and got his album the same week. A huge talent.
HEY you gonna know my name by the end of the night... 😉🔥
September 18th 1970 was the last time the world had an artist like this.
listening to this song LITERALLY makes you cooler....objectively!
.... I search constantly for new and refreshing talent and I'm only just discovering this guy?!? HOWWWWW???!!!!!????
Gary Clark Jr. 2016! Make blues great again..
Hahahaha
What's so funny?
What's so funny?
+Regimeshifts wtf is so funny ?
+Thato Sibeko Seriously you guys don't get the obvious reference?
This is how you do Music!
Yeah
Divine RESULT AND HAPPY ENDING FOR ALL OF HUMANITY
Never though a Harman Kardon commercial could lead me to this gem. This guy is amazing!
Austin, Texas will forever be the birthplace of one of the most talented musicians/artists. Upsets me how people don't appreciate that old rock/soul/blues style of music anymore.
Can I recommend some please? I va t even find than anymore
@@YanJeferson of course! Go for it!
We jammed on this kind of groove for days, back in the 70's. Timeless!
Saw him in Mpls couple yrs ago
UNBELIEVABLE...AWESOME!!!
"Sure, trouble finds us the same way you found me, slumped in a bar, drunk on self pity."
"Gonna know my name by the end of the night"... fitting seeing as I did after seeing him open for Clapton at Royal Albert Hall... Simply Fantastic, found more good music that night.
Guess what. What about Clapton is opening for this great guy!!
Firing up the 67 camaro and listening to this tune gave me the chills
Arturo Barrios The song just made you think you had a 67 Camaro...that's a honda bro....lol

Trouble seems to find us,Max...Yes,trouble finds us the same way you found me. :)
This is the first song I ever heard from Gary Clark. Now I'm hooked and can't wait to see him in concert!
I wen't to his concert a few days ago... jeesus christ, those who havent seen this guy play are truely missing out! Came out of the concert half deaf but it was worth it just to hear this music! Literaly hendrix reborn!
Really enjoyed this song/music....a wonderful change from same'ole...rap...❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I don't understand how songs like this isn't on top 40 radio
Luke Cage brought me here the music kept me. Excellent bro.
Yep, I'm gonna know your name by the end of the night. One of those songs you just sit there after creating it, with a slight smile on your face, and telling yourself that's the jam right there.
At least that's what I'd do
love it
This is real music.. Not a beat made by a computer and saying words that have no relevancy once so ever.. This is what" music" is.. Sad this generation thinks little wayne is a musician.. He is a vocalist and writer at the most. Not hating on anyone just saying I personally have more respect for Gary Clark and musicians alike. I will buy his album to support REAL musicians.. Not a rapper who plays two keys on his electric guitar then also says he is not only the best musician, but an artist too.
Best version of this song. It's a head bobber.
Max Payne 3! Perfect song for that bar scene
My man, Luke Cage! That scene was perfection! Y'all know what exactly I am talking about ♥.♥
Allen gray Jr music on UA-cam
Holy crap, that last minute. Sounds like a cross between All along the Watchtower and Stairway to Heaven. Wow...
Just wow.
This is Blues Rock for those that don’t seem to know.
been following this guy since he started. If I was a pro athlete, I would insist this song was played every time I stepped onto the court.
First time I heard this song when it came out, it sounded like it'd make perfect entrance music for a pro boxer, MMA fighter, or wrestler.
A few years ago I saw this man open for the Foo Fighters and was blown away. I felt like I was watching a legend in the making. The talent is immeasurable. I hope one day to see him in concert again and I am bringing every person I can with me
hope you have the luck. i hope too. regards
Roy Clark junior is officially in my top 10 artist ♥️

One of the few artists out there who sound even better LIVE
He is my new fav guitarist. Has his own style and its great. Cant wait to see what he developes into.
“I’ve been sitting at the bar for about three 3 hours or about 5 years depending on how you looked at things.”
AYE HAVE MANY THRONES WAITING FOR B… KING OF KINGS AYE MUST BE… BUT MY DIVINE ANGELZ WILL ONLY HAVE ONE THRONE…. AYE B
Luke Cage brought me here. This song is insanely dope.
"You gonna know my name" I always hear hunger and drive when I listen to this guy. His music is so powerful. A real throwback to the oldschool Memphis blues.
That fuzz tone 🔥
How many more artists are out there like Gary that are so ultra talented that I've never heard of, but now I cant stop listening to??
"Yeah, Trouble finds us the same way you found me, slumped in a bar, drunk on self-pity."
Dang!! Best song I've heard in a loong time!
Music so good, even commercials want it! I discovered this song watching a Macy's commercial. Glad it isn't just a catchy jingle. This song ROCKS! Thumbs up!
I hope that Macy's commercial gives you all the fame and fortune you deserve. You are a gifted musician/singer.
That...was...awesome. I saw this guy on the Grammy's Salute to The Beatles and went looking. I found some great Blues Rock that needs more airplay and recognition. Seriously, how is it that I didn't know about this guy until last Sunday yet I get no-talent hacks like Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, and all those Disney "starlets" shoved down my throat?! It aint right I tell ya.
he was also on the arsenio hall show if you ever watch it
I don't watch it, but if I'd known about Gary Clark Jr.'s performance in advance I might have watched it that evening.
yeah I was looking all over for him and when I saw him perform at the all stars i was like oh snap. I'm just happy to finally here good music, like real music.
Amen to that.
Would if I could. Thanks for the invite.
I can't stop listening to him! The underground rock/blues world is a hard one to work your way up! And it's so wonderful to see such great talent finally getting the career he's been working for so long! I'm from NYC and I know so many talented artists who just need a shot!
Gary Clark is one Badass singer. song writer and guitar player. Enjoy the music
I'm glad to see folks enjoyin music like this again...seems like fer awhile there wasn't much to listen to..kinda on the line like ZZ Top..they're able to produce much better stuff these days..I'm 65 and I still turn it up loud...
"I'd been sitting at the bar for 3 hours, or 5 years, depending on how you looked at things"
You should get a drink!
Max fucking payne !
is it called "badass" genre? Intro is fucking awesome:D
Wow !!!! .... 🤯 Gary Clark is My New favorite Artist , TRUE AMERICAN ROCK and ROLL man ! It absolutely goes without saying that this guy is a LEGEND in the making and will be up their with the ROCK GODS like Jimmy Hendrix and Carlos Santana ! 💪💯💥

@Andy Benitez hello there Andy!! You have an awesome and safe weekend.
@Andy Benitez Mississippi
I am surprised this has under 2 million views. It seems to always be on the radio in NZ.
Never once have I heard any of his music on any radio station in the US.
Then again, I don't listen to a lot of radios. Virtually nobody I know has heard of him. Shame really.
I'm in Aussie now bro, fuck the music shit here straight up have to hear from people back home posting gud music lol miss mai fm and all that
The live version of this song has over 2 million views. Blues isn't very mainstream in the states. But since the grammys he should get a little more attention. Hopefully! Such talent!
I discovered Gary on the Audience network on DirecTv.....this dude has absolutely blown my mind!!! I don't listen to radio much either. Everything here (southern U.S.....Tennessee to be exact) is either country or that Juston Beiber BS!! This dude is 100% bad ass!!!
Guess where I'm migrating to Taylor? :-)
Val: So, what'll it be. Chew gum, or kick ass.
Doc: I'm all outta gum....
Pacino and Walken...............
He's underrated because people don't listen to real music anymore
This guy is awesome I read an interview with him in Guitar World magazine and he is the future of blues. Gary Clark Jr will be taking over the world before to long!!!!!
Cool ----very cool! Good to see that there is music with soul and grooove!!
Gary is so pure, raw musician. Sooooooo good!
Rare! These guys are too. ua-cam.com/video/8YhlQVFzvg8/v-deo.html
First saw Gary on Austin city Limits, been hooked ever since !
I first heard this guy in a Jack Daniels commercial. His music grabbed my soul and has never let me go...
I heard this song while eating lunch at Red Lobster with my family. Not my usual genre of music but,I immediately became obsessed with this song. I became a fan instantly!!
I logged on just to leave a comment. I love this tune, from the guitar tone to his voice. It just jams all around. This is proof that GREAT music is still alive. This is by far my favorite tune in a while.
woh!!!....freaking 2011.!!!!!!!!...i barely discovered this song today(2016).......so much talent!!!......how come this guy is so underrated????
#GaryClarkJr Still killing it on his guitar 🎸. Talk to me brother. Your skill on that instrument is off the chain. Damn, you play that thang so beautifully. Make me wanna dance 😀🙋🎸🎺🎷🎹🎻🥁🪘🇨🇱🇺🇸
This guy was a real invention for me from Tribute Stevie Wonder. I like the ART that you create!
masterpiece
Thank you Kings of Leon (who I follow on Facebook) for introducing me to this artist. Like the previous comment, haven't heard this type of music in quite some time. Don't even know how to classify it - Blue's/Soul/Folk/Light Rock - whatever it is, it's great. Thank you.
wow.. how am I just finding this guy.. Thank you Pandora!!!!
DELVIN CHOICE PERFORMANCE on THE VOICE BROUGHT ME HERE.
who here is listening in 2020? 🔥
i am on the run. regards and smile
Sometimes the radio comes back to life.
Wow can he play that guitar.....what a flow ---I could listen to that all day.....and will......
Lovin' that snare drum
Fun fact: This song's riff was used in Max Payne 3's Walton's bar cutscene
Saw him on Monday at the Fox theater in STL.....he is totally A-MA-ZING
The American outlaw sound. Brings back some mean bones
So much talent!
This man has true talent
mr Gary Clark Jr,

Ever so frequently there is that unexpected "bright light" shining over the horizon . . . This is one of 'm !
