Sarah Boone’s 8th Lawyer Begs to Quit Ahead of Suitcase Murder Trial

- The Florida woman accused of suffocating her boyfriend in a suitcase can’t seem to get along with her public defenders. Her eighth defense attorney, Patricia Cashman, filed to withdraw from representing Boone, citing irreconcilable differences. Boone submitted a 50-page complaint about Cashman, calling her “too snotty” at one point. Law&Crime’s Sierra Gillespie breaks down the latest in Boone’s case.
The alleged murder occurred in the couple's Orange County home where Boone claimed they drank wine and played hide-and-seek before she passed out. However, a video allegedly recorded on her phone contradicts her account. While the trial is scheduled for October 7, it remains uncertain if it will proceed as planned or who will represent her moving forward.

It’s a grey area. Yes you have a right to defend yourself if the defendant wants to. But a defendant also has the right to a lawyer even if one can’t afford one. She can’t afford one and now she’s running out of public defenders. So if you make her defend herself and she loses because of ineffective council automatic appeal. With so many lawyers asking off I’m thinking she doesn’t like what they are telling her and she refuses to accept that. No easy answer here. None of those lawyers can’t say why they want off. Attorney client privilege is attached.

I think she also kicked the suitcase down the stairs with him in it before she taped it on the bottom floor. Jorge had bad bruises and neighbor testified he heard loud clunking sounds like something falling down the stairs. It is like a horror show to know the drunk went upstairs to bed. He probably knew she'd just pass out asleep.

All you need to do is watch the initial interrogation video. Sarah Boone is incapable of tolerating the slightest criticism. When she was confronted on the most obvious of facts, she would shout and overtalk the detectives saying - 'That's not fair!' and 'I didn't do this...know this NOW!" Unless the entire court system, the court case itself, the judge, the facts, the prosecutor and her own lawyer bends to her every whim, she will scream that the system is purposely geared against her. The judge needs to end this right now and insist that she represents herself. Enough is enough.
Yup, just like my mother in her divorce. She was on legal aid, and they wouldn't pay for another lawyer. She refused to respond to her own lawyer, and eventually found a lawyer who ended up scamming her, and she almost lost the house.

Many evenings as girls, we used to play "hide and seek". I'll never forget when she shut me in that old refrigerator in the vacant lot! Oh how we laughed when my parents couldn't find me andwent shouting all over the neighborhood!! Sarah was laughing so hard she could hardly tell dad where I was. Dad showed up with a crowbar, though and it was fine. Funny, my parents didn't want me going over there after that, but I always wondered what became of her!
