    I’m working on my 3rd hat for my husband with this pattern. It’s become his favorite and since he has cancer it’s the only one he wears. He bought me some Lion Brand Wool-ease yarn to make his hats and some for donations to the cancer center where he receives treatment. Denise, I want to thank you for such a wonderful pattern. By the way; I am using a 60 peg, 1/2 inch gauge loom and it’s a perfect size for a men’s hat.

      where did you get a 60 peg loom? The biggest one I have is 41 (?) pegs but I find its too small for mens hat or a little too tight for womens hats if I use super bulky yarn

    I'm sixteen years old and I've been looming since I was in sixth grade. Your tutorial really helped me a lot. I started on my hat around the beginning of last year and I have been super busy since then but now that I'm back at this video with a clearer mind, I'm happy to say that my hat is turning out very well. Thank you.

    Thank you for this tutorial. I have loomed hats before but they turned out with loose stitching and weren't very thick. Which was okay for fall hats since it's not very cold. But I wanted a nice winter hat. I discovered it's because I would E wrap around the entire loom then loop the bottom yarn over the pegs. The purl technique really made the difference. This tutorial was very easy to follow!

      The cast on is not a row, so after the cast on (where you add the yarn to loom) is row 1 where you eW3, k2. Just repeat that again and again until your hat is long enough and then cast off (close the hat).

      I use the little colored plastic hair bands to help mark my pegs when I have to do patterns like this one. They are the really tiny ones, and I think you can get pack of a hundred of them at Walmart for a dollar or two. I pulled out all of one color and then used that color to help mark the pegs that i should purl on. That might help you if you want to do more loom knits with difficult patterns in the future. I also lose focus, and this is a good way to remind you where you are at in the pattern.

    Hi. Ur videos have been a blessing to me. Thank you. I'd like to ask, how can one travel and not have to give up the pen tool bc it is a sharp object? Is there an alternative tool for TSA standard?? Thank u so much!

      Hi Linda - first, your comment is a blessing to me, thank YOU. Now about the hook, the last time I traveled with it was before COVID. I took it in a pencil case and had zero issues. But I would advise calling the airlines for updated informtion and instructions.

    Thank you for your excellent videos. I am a big fan. You have inspired and taught me so much. I was looking for an easy but stylish hat to make for Christmas gifts and viola your video appears. I can’t wait to start! Can you please share the link you mentioned for doing something with the casting on stitches? I’d love to see that variation. Thanks again!

    • @LoomaHat

      Hi Rose - you can, just remember your edges and cast on an even number of stitches

      @@LoomaHat how would we finish edges for a scarf??

    • @LoomaHat
      @LoomaHat  5 років тому

      for a clean edge you slip the first stitch on a new row and always end a row with a knit stitch
