What’s your favorite wrapping method? E-wrap or 1/2 wrap ( I forgot if it has another name).
I read through the comments after posting my own and look what your video accomplished, Mikey! So many people are going to start loom knitting now, after watching it. That's awesome! Plus your styler tip is just brilliant! This video is a wonderful introduction to loom knitting! Thank you!
The Crochet Crowd p
I love the way you * cast on * great idea 💡 👏
I would love to know how to knit a baby blanket on the loom Mikey please 🍀🇮🇪
that pen concept is mind blowing and i'm glad i found this video before i started trying at a sock
Yes, a strong straw will work as well but they do wear out quicker though
Omg that pen tube to feed the yarn is so ingenious, I've really been struggling with tension and I feel like you solved it spot on! Thank you for your in depth knowledge.
The “styler” is such a fabulous idea I want to try this!!!
Would have loved seeing some examples of projects done on the loom
I would love to see you make some projects because you’re such a great teacher
I'd love to know how to make a blanket, for a new baby 👶please, thanks 😊
@@annthompson3246 you can use the long one doing the E-wrap only on one side to make a baby blanket.
He has playlists full of projects.
about 4 years ago I saw your pen video for looms, I had my OMG YES moment and actually started using the looms more!
Oh wow! What a clever device you designed! What a great idea! Also, thank you for listing the time stamps. That is so helpful & considerate! It's been several years since I knitted anything. I'm not the greatest but there was a time when I no longer needed tutorials. This has been the perfect refresher course! Thank you so much!
Thank you for posting this. I gave my grandson numerous looms for his birthday a few days ago. I've been trying to get him interested in yarn craft. I forwarded this video to him. 😉
I LOVE the idea of the "styler". I would have never thought of that myself! Thank you! I have a bunch of different looms (some with removeable pegs) but I haven't used them in so long. I might have to give it a try again using these tips.
It just so happens I bought myself a ton of looms this week!! Glad to see this cuz I haven’t got a clue what I’m doing
Was thinking of doing that too. 😊
I've just done the same thing over the past two weeks! This craft looks like fun and, like you, I'm a total newbie! 🙂 I'm definitely making the styler Mikey described. It's a brilliant idea! Have fun!
I cant get the inside of the pen out, iv tried lots of times 😪🍀🇮🇪
The pen casing idea is awesome. Million dollar idea, I’m surprised the company hasn’t thought it this.
When loom breaks, mend with superglue with soda bicarbonate on top. (Cold welding.)
I have a set of the round looms with the replaceable pegs! I didn't realize that wasn't something they still did. I got a knitting machine for Christmas, then started crocheting, then remembered I had the looms, and now I'm obsessed! 😁
Brilliant tool you invented.
I can see how that totally changes the tension, and also eliminates the strain on the hand and fingers.
Thank you for this tutorial.
I don't use looms but often wondered about them.
Wow! I love your styler, what a neat idea! I am going to purchase a loom knitter now, had one years ago but with only written instructions I have up without mastering it... I can’t wait to make a hat!!! Thanks so much!!
It will be nice to see a fresh presentation about loom knitting. I have a set of round looms and have only had so-so success with my attempts. I would like to get better so I have another way to use my yarn 😊. Plus your useful extras are intriguing. They sound and look really useful. Thanks.
I have had looms for so long. I tried it one time and got aggravated with the tension. This is making me get them back out and make a blanket for my daughter 😊 thank you very much
Mickey what a fantastic video. I've got a large rectangular loom and gave up on it. I was so frustrated with it. Now I'm motivated to just tackle it again. As usual you exceed expectations! Love you lots.
My fingers cramps and hurts like crazy so I have to wait 2 to 3 days each time. Now that I can buy a tube for my yarn, thank you so much for sharing this. 😘😘😘😘😘USA.
That is so clever! I just got a set of round looms to play with. First thing I made was a very sad sock. Didn’t even bother with the second one. Your tips are super helpful. I love your styler invention.
This is the first loom video I watched and I'm so happy I did because that pen technique is awesome.
I love loom knitting! Thank you for this video. It’s nice to have all of the information in one place! Much ❤️ from Texas!
P
What an amazing tip in regards to using the pen to 'color' the yarn - I kept dropping stitches on the loom because of my tension. Thank you!
Yesterday at a craft show I marveled admiring the stitching consistency of people’s works. I had no idea! Thanks for showing this with the looms.
Wonderful! Enjoy the stitcher's journey.
Very informative! I have a few that I've never really played with. I just may have to get them out. Your "styler" idea is freaking genius!
On of my good friends is blind and he loom knits all the time! His stuff is awesome! ❤️
why is he so inspiring 😭❤
@@pasyamarpaung4868 right!? So sweet. He's one of the nicest and funniest people I know. Very soft spoken, the type to quietly make a joke and a lot of the time only one person hears it. Then you can't help but bust up laughing and it makes you look like a crazy person for laughing seemingly out of nowhere! Lol!
@@Carlie_flower omg why so dreamy!! 😭😭❤
@@pasyamarpaung4868 ❤️❤️❤️ he just married my cousin and it was so cute. she chose alice in wonderland theme and his tux was red and my husband was one of his groomsmen they all had powder blue tuxs 😍 so adorable. My cousin said he insisted on a colorful tux 😂 so freaking sweet. She is a lucky lady lol the craziest thing is he used to be a helicopter mechanic but had to stop when he went blind because of a tumor. Really crazy story but he just has such a good attitude. ❤️❤️ You're totally right total inspiration!
I just started loom knitting during this pandemic and loving it!
Thank you for a great introduction to loom knitting. The pen tube makes a huge difference. ❤️
Mikey with all you have on your hook already I so appreciate this tutorial🧶
I’m just starting with the knitting looms. Yesterday I made a premie baby hat. It wasn’t perfect perfect, but even my husband, John said I did a good job. But you gave me some wonderful ideas, and you make everything look so simple! Thank you for such good communication skills. Debbie/ Fort Wayne, Indiana.
I'm so glad for your joy in creation.
I love loom knitting. I'm always on the hunt for new patterns.
so i am not the only man doing this🤣sitting in a🦽it is a real good keep busy👍👍👍
I am so glad you updated............I want to learn this............thanks, MIKEY!!
I'm really glad that I found this video. I'm wanting to try my hand in loom knitting. Thanks Mikey!
Nice to see you bring the looms back! I remember you old videos from back in the day. Hopefully you'll do some remakes.
Man, what a good idea that styler pen is. Thank you so much.
You're so clever... The stylus design has done it for me! I definitely am going to have a go at this, thank you!
Hello....I moved to Québec from Texas and its hard here to find someone that can help teach me knitting in english....my ex boyfriend in Texas started to Show me the basics but then we broke up and i moved here.. I'm so happy to have found your channel.....you are very clear and informative. Plus I love how you picked this up in 2009 and it became a passion..... I feel that inside as well.....I can't wait to see my first scarf or hat.....ultimate project would be a sweater😲😲🤣🤣
The empty pen idea is awesome!! Thank you!!
Mikey you are a genius. Love the pen idea
I have some of these looms, but I've not used them yet. I found the round ones for sale in a thrift store, although the smallest loom was missing. That was no big deal, as I bought the rest for $5.00. I also have a couple of the rectangular looms, and I need to start using them! Thanks so much for the styler suggestion. Maybe now I'll be more inclined to take on a loom project.
Thank you for this video. I just got a set and can only do the knit stitch so far. I LOVE the pen trick!!!
I love the idea of using a pen casing for weaving between the pegs., Great idea!
Thank you so much for this video. I just purchased a loom set I'm gonna try this and your tip is awesome.
Thanks for this tutorial. I always became unstuck with the winding around d the pegs, your nifty empty pen tool has changed the game for me. Even tried it on my sentro machine, it works! Thanks again.
Very helpful and clear explanation. I especially like the idea of the styler. It took an engineer to figure that out! Thank you.
Mikey thank you for sharing your valuable technical information with us. You are truly a kind person who helps make crochet simple to understand. I've watched your videos for many years now and I surprise myself how much joy a hook and a ball of yarn can give you. Things to learn are endless. You and your team are very much appreciated 💕💕
I look forward to seeing more loom videos.
omg thank you so much for this PEN tip.... It looks so smooth......
You’re welcome.
This was good information. I have no doubt that I will be watching this video several times till I get the hang of this. Thank you for sharing what you have learned.
The videos can be reviewed as much as you need. There's no written rule stating you need to get it right away. Take your time.
genius!!!!! Great tip about ''the Styler''!! I'm going to make one for when I loom knit!
Your class has excited me. I was gifted a loom that I've been afraid of. Thank you for this class.
Wonderful!
That was really helpful, I just purchased my first loom today and I am thankful to find such good information on my first day
Glad it was helpful!
Love the styler! Thanks for intro to looming!
You are a genius 🥳 I love the pen tool, and the wood frame I’m a beginner so I’m gonna try this! Thank you Thank you!!!!
This video is amazing.
The styler is brilliant. (I actually stuck the yarn right at the end then sucked it through like a straw😂🙈 I die laughing every time I do it but it works sooo well)
Just love the idea of making a wooden stand for it! Will make it much easier for me 😁
Wow ! you are a genius! Your tools you created for making loom weaving quicker are amazing !You should patent them! But thank you for sharing it with us. Using the empty pen tube is a game changer! It is so fast and less fumbling around with trying to get your fingers around the pegs and the tension is always even ! Thank you to for explaining how each loom shape can be used for multiply projects. Super video !
Thank you very much!
This is the only way I can knit!!! Never could master needle knitting
Easier on the wrists and much faster, aswell.
@Catherine Montalbano-Harris
I'm the same way. I tried needle knitting but it felt so awkward. I gave up on it and continued with crocheting, which I love. I've just purchased some looms and will give loom knitting a try. It looks like fun!
You packed a lot in a very concise, easy to understand way, I’m subscribing!
Thank you, that was really interesting, the styler is ingenious. Maybe I'll add loom knitting to my textile crafting!
Oh wow, I remember the older version of this video, well done Crochet Crowd, you have come so far with your videos. :) When I first started watching them I had a newborn daughter and now she is almost 15!
This was so unbelievably helpful!! Thank you so much for this!! ❤️
awesome tutorial. been curious about each of those looms. now i know the best one for me. and the pen tube is an awesome idea. think even my mom would try knitting again.
Gosh ....
Amazing, I never knew these looms existed ..... off to view more of your videos now ... crocheting is my think, but might give this a try ... Thanks, Steve U.K.
Thank you for doing such informative and detailed tutorials!!! I love the all ❤
There's a SOCK LOOM! A loom for socks! I never knew such a device existed, but now I do. Thanks 👍
This is has explained all the things I couldn’t understand, and I definitely like the top to bottom action with the pick.
I’ve subscribed to keep learning more.
Hi from a new Australian 🇦🇺 friend.
great idea! I will share with my sister who likes to loom knit but complains about her hands hurting after awhile. engineering comes in handy!
Great video no nothing about loom knitting but this has helped very clever with the idea from the pen thank you very much
Thank you Mikey this idea of your is GREAT!!! So much easier my hands cramped up on me every time i tried!!! Have a BLESSED CHRISTMAS !!! Always Wendy
That, yarn through the tube, blew my mind!!! Thank you for sharing
Glad it was helpful!
@@TheCrochetCrowd try life changing! Seriously, thank you
Really appreciated this video. Have always wondered how looms worked and should I try them. Your tips helped a lot. Will be trying something soon using a loom.
Glad it was helpful!
That styler is an amazing idea! Thank you
Love this! Very helpful. Love the styler idea, game changer. 😊
I've never loom knit before but it looks really easy maybe easier than crochet, lol. Looks like fun. Tyfs God bless you
An engineer’s hobby! Well explained and instructed!!! Looks fun and relaxing!!!
That's a neat perspective. :)
Thats really interesting. I’ve just bought a sock loom, and my niece has a hat one, I find the hat one very unfriendly to my joints. Your information is very helpful. Thank you.
Thanks for the "styler pen" idea!
What a fantastic idea! I would love to see the wooden contraption you created in more detail.
I've been using my cricut picker for loom knitting for about a year. I started because I couldn't find my loom needle and it looked similar. I love how much sturdier it is and how much more comfortable it is to hold. Been using it ever since.
I'm a former engineer too...glad to see someone else that jumped to the yarn world ;)
small world. It's amazing how one skill can lead to another.
Thank you Mikey for another great video. I remember doing this as a kid, only we made our own looms by nailing nails into small pieces of wood or old spools. Dad would help with that part. We would take them to school and 'knit/weave' during recess. And gossip like old women 😂
Thanks for every bit of information. All of it was helpful. I just recently after two years of loom knitting. I finally used my long loom and made a 2 scarfs. But in all tutorials I've looked up. There have been many. I don't remember anyone saying to use it in the round as well. You should make a couple videos of different stitches. Figure 8 and stockinette. And others. Your informative. And clear spoken.
Thanks Tricia... the looms are somewhat limited but useful. Thanks for the advice on a potential project to understand.
Thanks so much for this! Have always wondered about looms! That’s a brilliant tool you’ve developed. I don’t think I’d loom knit without it!
Hello carol
Yeah, holding these flat looms is so difficult for me. I'm just spastic!! I found working it upside down like you on the round loom is brilliant, but the flat looks, uughhh!! Thanks for all ur great videos!!
You are not alone, they are a bit awkward!
really good video, thank you! Great idea on the styler tool, I will try it out now.
You're tool is genius. Thank you for sharing.
I have literally made 2 projects on a loom, ordered buckets of yarn and then came across your videos...now I'm rummaging for a pen!! You sir, are a genius! Many thanks from Ireland!
You’ll be super quick.
@@TheCrochetCrowd I just broke my last pen, so I've resorted to a metal straw...! Showed hubby...he's very impressed and expecting a hat by tomorrow!!!
The All-in-One looms are pricey being wooden and steel pegs but they are well worth the money. I have them in a couple sizes plus the sock loom. I adore my infinity loom so much. I may be my favorite.
I've never used a knitting loom (well I have, but not like this) and I liked that right off the bat, you're showing your engineering skills to make the task easier. Thanks for sharing that Now to find me a cheap Bic pen to dismantle. Oh, and a loom. I mainly use knitting needles and I'm slow.
Thank you for this video. I just got my hands on a rectangular one. I had no idea how to use one.
The styler you came up with is genius! I am just researching to see if I want to try Loom knitting or not but I can tell that’s genius! Much Love and blessings ❤️
I like easier ways of doing things. I have large fingers so wrapping a loom by hand is tough.
@@TheCrochetCrowd I have arthritis so your genius way will be very helpful for me too! Thanks again
Thank you very much for the explanation! Greetings from Brazil!
This video is so helpful! I've been wanting to try loom knitting. I had to stop doing knitting/crochet because of hand issues related to disability; and I was worried I might not be able to do loom knitting. These accessibility tips were especially helpful!
Excellent. I wish you well in your continued stitching journey.
Thanks , I saw some at Michaels today and thought it looks like fun .Thank you for tips.
Hope you like it!
I have to say, the pen as a feeder has changed my whole loom knitting. I have chronic illnesses and my hands and fingers have reduced dexterity. I was starting to think I might have to give it up, but the pen hack means that I don't have to, because it is a lot less fiddly. My husband even commented on what a cool idea it is.
So I want to say a bit thank you for that.xx
I started to loom knit about 2 months ago , like you im hooked , im still learning and hope to see your videos x
Hello Wendy
Mind blown with the tube trick!!!!
I am excited to learn this! Thank you!
