I got tired of my packout tipping over in my back seats, heres my solution. hope you enjoy. I also took the opportunity to clean and reorganize my truck.
This is brilliant! It's simple but brilliant. I just bought a new F150 this week, and I did not want to drill holes into the floor of the truck. It never occurred to me to create a 'fake' floorboard like this, which will not damage the truck and is completely removable! Well done! I'll be doing a version of this for sure!
I might have used a jig saw to cut that plywood and router with a round over bit on the edges. Some hand hold slots might have made it easier to remove and reinstall. Spray adhesive is your friend for installing the carpet. Curious: how did you negotiate the transmission hump of the floor pan? Does it teeter totter on that? I see you used half sized mounting brackets, consider installing only single half sized brackets under the area where the seat folds down so that when the seat is down people aren't stepping on them. A heavy duty (like the ones overlanders use) sliding drawer style base would make it easier to access the middle, but might require that you bolt the opposite side to your truck to support its weight when extended.
I didn't see the rest of the comment earlier, the floors is completely flat there's no hump. and Its a work truck if I'm removing the tools for people to sit they can either get over it or I would just remove the base all together. but I appreciate the feedback and suggestions 👍
Nice improvement. The girls voice was highly annoying as were the subtitles though. A thought for the middle would be to put in a cooler or even a warmer so you can have meals and store drinks and what not while on the go. I use a Hot Logic Mini to heat my food while I'm at work, works great. The middle you could also build some shelves for paperwork or what not. Lots of potential there.
This is great! A couple of suggestions: cut the plywood to fit inside the floor mat. It has a lip that will hold the plywood from shifting. There is room for three mounting plates. I have one facing the passenger side and two facing the drivers side. You can cut the plywood where the back seat splits ‘60/40’ and then you are completely modular. You can have 2 stacks and one seat or 1 stack and 2 people. This works very well for me and is completely removable in 30 seconds. F150 is only back seat this kind of layout works in. Avoid the factory fold down under seat storage. The backseat floor is completely flat without it. Cheers!
Thanks that’s a good tip. I haven’t had any issues the way I did it. My truck is usually in work mode 95% of the time. And when it’s not I remove all my stuff from the back and remove the floor panel.
I might explore the idea of mount the plywood directly under the rubber floor mat, do you think that would work ok or are you happy with the carpet in the end?

If you get to the end of the video I explain why I didn’t 😅

Great work brother! Just switched to Milwaukee and this is precisely what I need to organize the packout in the truck. I appreciate this.
Do you work with a company or as an independent contractor ?
Both 😅

Agree about voice but good video otherwise
Don’t worry now it’s just my voice either real or AI ha ha
Nice project, simple and effective. And I actually enjoyed the girls voice and the subtitles.
Thanks haha. You might be the only one 😂
This is genius. I’m going to copy this for my f150
Thanks, I think it works really well.

@ perfect! The convenience and security with this kind of setup is top notch! Cheers.
Nice did the same thing in my titan but bolted it down 😬 it goes to the ceiling 👍
Sweet man, I love the setup.
nice project. what kind of topper is that? looking for something similar as I need to carry ladders
Leer 100RCC I think custom order tho
What ladder rack is that?
Which ever you decide to put in the middle you could put it in some drawer slides so you don’t have to reach in to grab your boxes
Yeah honestly a year later I only really use one side of the setup in the backseat.
did the wheel cart fit in the back with the packouts on top of it?
Yes it did but I ended up selling it because it was cumbersome

Definitely carpet. The rubber isn’t as flat as it needs to be to mount the packout brackets.
