      I’m usually pretty aware of Customer and install needs and I vet the properties before cutting cables. They had no home phones. I wrecked out the copper. Even if they needed to back feed signal for phone or data through the phone lines all the cables are still there.

      Also the loops we usually do at least 4 loops and zip tied them just in case they change poles or shift the mainline up or down this reminds me of how AT&T do their work here in the US.

      Just not how we do it 🤷🏻‍♂️ way too much work to lash every drop. It’s all done on demand not during the plant build.

    I know how expensive it is. But why not go the extra mile and do it underground? It's safer and more reliable.

      I do it all 🤷🏻‍♂️ I can’t run a drop underground to a house that has aerial utility and vice versa. This area is all aerial. If the builder put a conduit to the pole I would have used that.

      @FyBurz our power comes from a pole. Have a tech coming January 6th to install fiber. Supposedly they are going to dig a trench. In my town, ultilities put fiber underground.

    What type of blades do you use on the blue jonards drop stripper. Besides the cheap jonards blades? I use the mini utility blades. Stronger last longer and way cheaper than the original jonards blade replacement

    Hey bud, I’m about to start my first week in fiber drops and the guy training me has zero aerial in the area (Tampa) great for him but sucks for me as I am being sent to Indiana and in the winter no less lol. I’m super nervous but I know I can do this. Watching a professional at work is going to help me along! I gave you a like and a sub!

      Means a lot for you to say that. Any tips for working in the snow that I should be aware of? I’m a Florida boy with 9 years field engineering for AT&T and Comcast. This Fiber I&R is for Frontier Communications and all the guys here are Sudanese so language barrier was a thing lol

      Yup a very good method I commonly use. Mainly on longer runs. Rodder is more efficient. And is easier to do on your own. I was prepping the conduit while my guy hung the drop.

      @@FyBurz while here in my country every telecommunications company has its own utility pole so there's lots of it are unsightly or even blocking pedestrian sidewalk at some area. PLDT, Dito, Globe, Converge, Sky Cable that's the telcos here. The latter also serves cable TV service as well.

      Well I can only say that I have been splicing for over 30 year and to keep your splicer in good working order you should be cleaning your fiber prior to splicing

      I think I explain in the video I ran out of wipes. And also it doesn’t impact the fuse at all if the fibre was dirty I’d see it in the splicer. Alcohol is mainly for cleaning gel off loose tube fibre. This isn’t that.

      I just use my regular gloves. I always forget the brand but I get them at my local hardware store. Just thin gloves coated with rubber

      Definitely good advice. Although tying off a ladder rarely does anything to prevent a fall. Usually tie off in windy conditions or wet

    This is great! A couple of suggestions: cut the plywood to fit inside the floor mat. It has a lip that will hold the plywood from shifting. There is room for three mounting plates. I have one facing the passenger side and two facing the drivers side. You can cut the plywood where the back seat splits ‘60/40’ and then you are completely modular. You can have 2 stacks and one seat or 1 stack and 2 people. This works very well for me and is completely removable in 30 seconds. F150 is only back seat this kind of layout works in. Avoid the factory fold down under seat storage. The backseat floor is completely flat without it. Cheers!

      Thanks that’s a good tip. I haven’t had any issues the way I did it. My truck is usually in work mode 95% of the time. And when it’s not I remove all my stuff from the back and remove the floor panel.
