Another great soul singer. Al Green had a lot of great songs in the 70's including "Take Me To The River", "Tired Of Being Alone", "I'm Still In Love With You", "Love & Happiness", "Let's Stay Together" etc. He also became a pastor after facing a tragedy in his life (girlfriend's suicide) & performed gospel music for a time.
You forgot to mention the grits that were thrown on HIM!?
This was moms song, she passed when I was 13,I know now it was a break up song now, but my mom new she was dieing Soo she would dance with me , I never appreciated it till I was in my 20 s, now 52 I listen to this and it still tears me up,,,,,for life ..thankyou both!!!

My absolute favorite Al Green song. A masterful performance by this legend.
Another great soul singer from the 70's. He had so many hits!!!❤❤❤
I can’t help but to think about my late mother when I hear Al Greene. She loved him and played those albums all the time. “How Can You Mend A Broken Heart” was my favorite. Al is a true legend and R&B icon. His music is used in so many movies til this day.
‘How Can You Mend a Broken Heart’ was my favorite song.I was 8 years old turning 9 in a few months. I spent the Summer in Baltimore at my aunt’s house and all I did was listen to the radio and play records. This song was on repeat along with Aretha Franklin’s ‘Daydreaming’
Grew up on the Ray Price version and never heard this but it is stunning!
Welcome to the club bro!
Al Green is another one with what seems like a million songs and all of them are great. My Mom used to cry every time she heard this song by Al Green. He was her favorite singer.
This song was written by Kris Kristofferson and Ray Price took it to the top of the charts in 1970.
Kris Kristofferson? OMG! That's awesome.
Check out Tired of being alone and Let’s stay together by Al Green.
Mighty AL GREEN
The Reverend takes you to church. When my girlfriends and me were getting ready to go clubbing (took hours) we always played Al's greatest hits album, Isaac Hayes and Percy Sledge. We were soul sisters and we were ready to go out and dance the night away (underage at the beginning). We didn't go to meet guys, or get drunk; we went to DANCE and boy did we.
Al will always hit that sweet spot guys, cannot be avoided.
Oh this was in the mid 70s when we were 15 but looked 18 hah!
A real love song. You hear his pain in his voice.
One of the Greatest. I saw him in concert when I was in college. He threw Red 🌹 to the ladies . React to Love And Happiness. Al Greene will not disappoint.
Greatest soulful song ever!!
You gotta admit, Al Green can SANG!!!
My dad used to dance with my mom to Al Green in the kitchen, brings back great memories.
I’ve never heard you guys do any gospel but Al Green can take you to church like nobody else. If so inclined, listen to him do Precious Lord & How Great Thou Art. Amazingly good! Anything he sings is awesome!

That pain his voice is called experience he has seen some things in his lifetime magic in the seventies thank God he's still here with us today
"How can you mend a broken heart" by Al Green is a good tune you ought to try next. It's in the movie "Knotting Hill", starring Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts. The whole soundtrack to the movie is quite something. "She" by Elvis Costello is another great tune from the same movie 🎬.
Al Green was the bomb!! I had one of his 8 track tapes and wore it out in the mid 70’s. Love him.❤️
Let's Stay Together, you will both love it!
I absolutely love Al Green. I had the pleasure of seeing him in concert...so good!!! Please respond to more of his music :) Thank you! "Let's stay together"
Nobody, but nobody like Al Green. Grew up listening to him and trying to wail with him when I was just seven years old!😄
This song will tear you up! The album title goes well with this song.
And I'm sorry, but that feeling never goes away.
This song was released in 1972! Fifty years ago and it is still powerful today.

Al Green's performance of A Change Is Gonna Come is SPECTACULAR!!
My jam back in the days, at house parties! Al Green was the man, he had such unusual voice and a great soul singer!

I did not know how to make a comment I just got to say I love you guys I'm from Canada and even though I am 56 years of age born in Regina Saskatchewan I know a lot of the people you're playing because my parents I was one of the five children that listen to their parents so I just wanted to say hi from Canada and I didn't know what color people were when they sang I just liked what they were singing and listen to my father's music so some of the songs you're playing I absolutely love I didn't know when some were black some were white I really honestly didn't I was just glad you like the songs my Father listen to and I kind of thought they were cool too. God bless
Mr Al Green in the 70's was undoubtedly the Prince of Soul... from this very album check out Look What You've Done for Me... again anything he sings is Gold
We can go all day with this man.
This is Old School 70’s SOUL, Shawn & Mel! My Nana introduced me to Al Green when I was a teenager. My Nana was in love with Al Green, hahaha she bought his albums. She saw him in concert, Al gave Nana a red rose 🌹in the audience. during his show. Those were my memories that had Al’s music. I loved my Nana. I miss my Nana. R.I.P. Nana

Listen to Dagmar, once again. Al Green is one of my personal favorites. Dripping in swag. Al Green is a favourite of mine, I love all his songs! Watching him live & how the ladies swoon is so special. This is such a special & touching song 😢🥰❤️🩹💝💘💔💔❤️🔥❣️
Al Green sang for a long time then left the lifestyle & is a now a preacher ( I think in Memphis) Oh how I would love to see him sing in his church! Have you reacted to Al singing at the Tina Turner tribute at the Kennedy Center, it is so special & Tina loved it! If I hear an Al Green tune, I’ll be singing it all day long!!
What a song, See the live version,
React to: how can you mend a broken heart & here I am baby come and take me come and take me by Al Green and he did it so many other beautiful songs 🩵🩵🩵
Pretty cool how Al Green can take a country song and put a soulful spin on it. Naturally, when I perform the song, my version leans more closely to the original, but he did a great cover. Just shows how a great song can be done any sort of way.
I didn't know Al Green recorded this song. He's put a completely different spin on it. I've only heard this from Ray Price ( old old country). I LOVE hearing AL sing this. I love Al.
Al Green is a vibe. I love him. You guys are awesome, check out some Marvin Gaye too !!!
The 60s and 70s had the best music! Love love love songs, protest songs, rock n roll, soul-smooth sweet soul songs. Miss this era but play the music all the time at home. Try Baby Im For Real - The Originals. Your Precious Love - Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. ( Before he became "MARVIN" )
Al Green is a Preacher here in Memphis. Another Memphis Icon.
I enjoyed your reaction. I recommend the original version by Ray Price. You won't be disappointed!
Love the Reverend Al Green…he sings gospel now🌹
Ray Peice had a hit in the 60's on the country music chart with this song . Was on th country chart but it was a classic somewhere between jazz and blues
There's a live version of him singing on soul train singing that song
Amazing performer, check out How Can you Mend a Broken Heart LIVE. You will never forget it!!!!
I had not heard this particular cover before. He was a soul man. This is an old, old country song. If I’m. It mistaken, written by Kristofferson? Can’t remember who sang it first it’s been done so many times. Was it Ray Price? Ray Price is my all time favorite country singer.
This is amazing.
Awww man the mail lady knockin wantin to know whats goin on up in here
Al was smooth. My Mom wore her 8 track tape out! 🤣
That song is heartbreaking 💔
Preach ya'll!

Love Al's rendition of this song, originally a country song, Typically I like the original of any songs but Whatever Al touches comes up Gold, Smoothest on Earth, Love Love Love Al Green
AL is a beast !...react to his songs
WHAT A WONDERFUL THING LOVE IS
UNCHAINED MELODY
SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL
Al Green🥰... UNLIKE ANY OTHER
There be time enough for us stay, for the a goid tome, one more time
Rev. Al is a American treasure. This album is one of my desert island records, one of the best ever.
This song was written by Kris Kristoferson and has been done by many people. The most definitive and successful version of this song was done by Ray Price in 1970. This version was a massive hit and, although Ray Price was a country singer, his version was a major crossover success. The Ray Price version elicits such pure feeling from the listener, and you can't help but be moved. Check out Ray Price's version, you won't be sorry.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
♥️♥️ I have the vinyl….
Al Green’s “Simply Beautiful” redone by Maxwell is the best
Try: al green - how can you mend a broken heart, the whispers - Olivia (lost and turned out).
Gosh amighty, Al Green made women forget who they came with to the concert. That's Memphis area where he lived and I think he was born in Arkansas. That's bellyrubbing/slowdancing music right there. As a southerner I can only go six months without hearing from two people and that's Al Green and Elvis.
