Paraffin Kerosene Blowlamp Start Up An Old Blow Torch! Restoration - Розваги
I have several of these torches, yes do learn outside first.
Yes I agree
I used to light my fathers blow lamp when I was a kid, I used it to melt lead.
Nice one. Not as much health and safety back in the day.
Yes be careful! About 35 years ago I bought several blow lamps, lamps, paraffin iron and a couple of satellite heaters (Tilley). One day not knowing anything about them decided to light the blow lamp not knowing to pre heat, I just pressured it and eventually it lit ...a stream of flame about 6 feet long (in my garage) I grabbed it and threw outside, as luck would have it it landed under my car, I grabbed a stick and and got it on to the drive and it then went out. It was about 10 years later when I got the internet and found out how to do it properly......lesson learned.🙂
Yes they can be dangerous, thank you for the comment let's hope others will read and take warning.
Having said that these blow torches can still be a useful tool to have.
That`s awesome! I just purchased one of those and now i know how to get it working. Thanks man
Excellent don't forget to light it some place safe.
Leather pump buckets are what We call those pump washers in Australia. I had a big collection of those blow torches many years ago when I used to find them at the tip. P.S Never try to light them indoors or near anything you don't want to burn down as they can & do malfunction.
Thank you for the comment
Good stuff, but the pump leather / washer should be lubricated with light oil , vegtable oil is best, bees wax even better., The blowlamp should be preheated with methylated spirit, not whatever you were using. You will get the idea with a bit of practice.👍
Thanks for watching
i wonder home many houses were burnt to the ground because of these!
Indeed plus in these days a lot of people still had open coal fire to heat their homes.
