My approach is to get some plastic shoe boxes at the dollar store and take 5 minutes when I get the box to sort through stuff, wash the produce and put it in the meals shoe box

Many food banks can use the ice packs (and sometime the boxes and liners) -- especially now when they're doing more curbside and deliveries. Pass 'em on! I store mine in my garage and make a delivery run every month or two.

Pre sort the ingredients and put them all in a large storage bag along with the recipe. Do it as soon as you get the box. It will help you get familiar with the recipes. That's always a good idea anyways to be familiar with the recipe.

Yes and you get to see the quality of all the veggies and such for the whole week, if there is a problem you can let them know right away, I have used Hello fresh and sometimes by the end of the week when im using my last meal the ingredients arent super fresh but i didnt open up the bag to look at each meal. I think I will be switching to this one, and you can see everything right away incase there are problems! :D

I don't like that you have to purchase the box before they let you see their food choices

Thanks! We got Daily Harvest for the first time this week and although they’re more like snacks vs. meals they’re sooo healthy!

You sort it out before hand yourself. I wouldn't mind that.

I just bought a bag of paper bags for like a dollar from Walmart and sorted out the food into bags for each meal, it only took like 5 mins. That was my only downside to every plate vs the others very worth it for us.

That is so smart! I'm still using HomeChef the most these days. They just turned out to be my favorite between the several that I tried.

I've been using Everyplate for a few weeks. A lot of the meals come with large servings of potato, rice, or pasta, along with a green veggie. The problem I have is that the "white" dishes are much bigger than the others, so it's half white. The meat portions are 8-10 ounces for two servings, so only adequate. For the ice pack, I drain it into a large plastic bin and let the water evaporate. What's left is a little solid plastic material to throw into the trash. I've read that it's not good to pour it down the drain as it could clog the plumbing.

That’s good to hear about pouring the freezer packs down the drain. If we put them in the garbage while they weigh a ton.

You could make a big salad- enough for two days and save half the starch for the next dinner and just add a protein.

Grab a couple little bins or plastic show boxes and as you take things out seperate the items by meal.
You can even use a dry erase marker to mark the meal.
