One driver spent $5,000 dollars replacing this $10 seal,he said air got in there and he dropped an injector...and you make this the job looks so easy.. Thank you
You make a valid point on the torque specs, they do change from time to time especially if the part is superseded by a newer part that might require different torque specs. It would help though just to have a reference in torque like you mentioned the seal. Just say “I personally torque to” that will help the people wanting the help and ward off the critics. Great video!!!

I learned a lot from you within a few minutes, I’ve never messed with dd , only Cummins …. I got some action at my new job with dd and gave it shot on a #5 and let’s just say for the first time doing it without watching UA-cam I managed it was complicated for me since iam 6 feet 300 pounds lol but I got it … guys at work said #6 wash the leak off and send it on its way …. Idk when I was in there looking at it didn’t scare me you will definitely need a super bendable magnet to get the tiny bolts on the gasket with out dropping the bolts , that how I did #5 I didn’t remove anything to make it “ easier for me “ I chose to struggle lol What tips do you have a #6 I worked with paisas before and idk if you know how they can get when teaching someone or when someone is struggling lol
Just a quick tip if for some reason fuel line doesn’t want to get tight have to removed air filter housing and valve cover and watch injector hose go in to injector and tighten up / time consuming but easy
Awsome video bro... I did a pm today.. and I had 4 leaks, and I was wondering how to replace does seal, with this video it answer my question. Thanks guys
Could bad seals be the reason why i have to prime once i stop running the truck after about 8 hours but once I prime it I have no issue with the truck until I let it sit overnight
Thanks for the video, it's exactly what is happening on my dd15, it's leaking it is because mechanics tide it to much that is not holding up the seal, now what can I do in this case... Thanks
Hi. Tell me what role it plays in high pressure fuel line. what it affects it can affect the fuel economy the engine will not work well ,Thanks for the information
How to fix a 10mm that’s stripped boss I was checking all bolt to be tight all but one damn it is there a kit or do I need a shop to fix it thank you in advance
I feel confident that I can change it out myself after watching this video so thank you for posting. I’m a little confused about cranking my engine after tho, can I use the priming pump next to The fuel filter to prime my fuel And start my engine or do I need a special priming pump?
I just had 2 injector seals replaced and now I'm getting a intermittent low fuel rail pressure codes any idea why that is now happening, I'm thinking they either didn't torque them right.
Be careful I ordered a 19mm for my freightliner cascadia and the socket want fit on,its supposed to nea size 19,there is no writing on it for as size, ordered it from ebay
Would over filling the oil cause these seals to go bad? At work they over filled the motor and not long after one of them started leaking. One more question what happens if you don't replace one thats leaking?
@@detroitrebuildspecialist376 I think you or someone you work with did some work on my dad's 60 series a few years back. Ran like a scalded dog after that!
Replaced injector fuel lines and seals all 6 of them stopped about a month then started leaking again and also leaking all that area also pressure fuel pump area is wet
Arent the injector fuel lines single use? Due to stretch from torque, time, and pressure DD advises that injector fuel lines are single use are they not? To replace them when doing the pass though seals?
i have a dd15 and got the plv changed. still throwing a code saying it is open because the pressure in the fuel rail is too high... the fuel rail is on crooked and the lines are not centered with the injector line bolt... im being told that is the problem???
One other question, unrelated to injectors- my DD15 is set at I think 475 HP/1550tq. Is there any way to up that torque setting without some goofy tune?
Can't you instead of using starting fluid or other ways of priming, after each seal replacement, just start it? Then move onto the next one and so forth?

I watched that video. Air gets in the fuel system every time you change filters. I assume he did something else and caused his own problem.
There is no such thing as dropping an injector. Not at least when it's inside an engine
pretty sure that guy forgot to tighten down the fuel line after replacing the seal, injector ran dry

Tremendous help brotha!! Very much appreciated!!..
Great video. One of my high pressure fuel injector lines is leaking fuel. The 6th one lol. I'm going to try changing it out tomorrow
Do those cylinders leak oil or fuel?
@BabyBaby-ph4uo it's fuel.
@cascadia7244 well why does it leaks black liquid stuff????

When do you recommend replacing fuel lines mileage wise? Do you have a video?

Can you prime the system with the hand pump ? If not how did you make one?
Did you get an answer on this? Doing mine today
Aw dude you're awesome! Had 3 leaking
Thanks u very much very well explained
Exelente demonstration
My engine is a 2008 DD15...please explain the priming process if I would to replace all seal and if would only replace one. Thank you in advanced !
Would that be covered under warranty if I still have warranty?
What do you recommend Rebuild or Swap?
Wow excellent video
thank you very much
For it !!
Can I just prime the truck by hand with the manual pump just like I do when I change my fuel filters?
If the pump works…you may have to pump over 100 pumps, I always use starting fluid although it’s not recommended…just use a tiny bit.
250 not 100, 250 ahhh
@CheddarCheeseBandit
100 isn't enough. I now pump about 250 to 300 times. It's pretty quick and easy when I stand on the steer... @CheddarCheeseBandit

Jorge Hernandez did you get some answer for your question
Yes you can use the priming pump BUT... It's gonna take a while so be prepared.
A very detailed video
Mine is stripped on one side can u give some info on how to repair the stripped cam housing
Thanks for the information.
If these are leaking will it cause a problem with your truck loosing prime instantly and having a hard time cranking
I have replaced the seals and I still have oil leak around that area. Did I not replace it right?
You can't use the hand primer to get it started?
I just had 2 injector seals replaced and now I'm getting a intermittent low fuel rail pressure codes any idea why that is now happening, I'm thinking they either didn't torque them right.
What happens if you put the seal with the Top Part down? It seems they look the same
Did all the steps. Now its leaking fuel a little from pass through seals. Is it normal ? I did torqued it up to 30 flb and 11 ftq on the seal bolts
What size is that special snap on tool I see some on Ebay cheaper than snap on just wondering if the size is 3/4 on that nut
The size is 19mm but a 3/4 fuel line socket should work
Be careful I ordered a 19mm for my freightliner cascadia and the socket want fit on,its supposed to nea size 19,there is no writing on it for as size, ordered it from ebay
I’m trying to find the tool as well. Can’t seem to find that snap on part # anywhere online. Anyone have any luck finding it?

What is the goldish/orange stuff on the pass thru seal? I have it on 3-6 and not on 1-2?
Would those symptoms be the same for a 98 Detroit 12.7 60 series..
hello, do you have any ideea wht is the part number for the gasket that is between the low pressure side and the high pressure side?
A brother, if mine are leaking bad can that be the cause of why I’m loosing power while it’s running?
Thanks for the video!!!
One time i went to a machanic shop needed this done he estimated me $1854 i told him brah are you doing ❤ transplant or some😂
Quick question i looked up in Mitchell and it says not to reuse the line again is that correct or can it be reused

Can you prime the system using the diesel hand prime handle next to the diesel fuel filter?

if I get this job done from mechanic how much should it cost roughly I'm in Houston Texas.
I have the same issue on my dd13 with the seals how much to replace seals ? And do I need to replace the lines
Will those seals allow fuel into the oil??
I'm having problem with two lines that goes from fuel pump to big fuel line can I heat it up ?
Is priming an issue when you only change one? I can see why if you did them all.
Hi , how many ft/lbs on the injector pass through seal mounting bolts
thanks
Hello? Am from Kenya kindly assist with maintenance manual.
NICE VIDEO BRO thank
Great video thanks
Number 6 when its in the truck lol
how can I get seal number 6 out? there's a metal line blocking one the bolts
what is the error codes on the display?
655-5 and 521013-31 ?
Can you not use the fuel prime pump at the filter to prime the rail?
Yes, use the hand primer until you feel resistance. It’ll take a while but safe then using starting fluid.
How do you stop a new seal to stop leaking
Does those lines leak oil or fuel???
I have oil on the engine harness connection right above those fuel lines is there o rings or seal I can replace on it?
It's your Injector harness. Replace both front and rear injector harnesses
