Music video by Nirvana performing Come As You Are. (C) 2009 Geffen Records
Seriously the opening riff is just so recognizeable. It has a dark and grungy beauty to it as well. One of the greatest bands of all time for sure. Too bad Kurt isn't with us anymore.
***** your on every nirvana video and so am i
Rainbow Dash lol kurt stole the riff from killing jokes eighties. love both songs but it irks me when i see people act like its nirvanas gift to the world.
true, and as i said i like them all.
***** Nah, but if he didn´t died he wouldn´t be as popular as he is today. You know, I think, he would do really 08/15 music today.
The riff was copied from the damned
"Nirvana Live" Two beautiful words
Kurt Cobain - there's another two
+Fuckin Bulb another one!
+Sherbert The destroyer Here's another one
Nirvana Reading
My dick - another two lol
Sooo true!!
My favorite Nirvana song. Has an atmosphere that just is haunting.
Yeah, "haunting", that's the perfect word to describe it! For me, although I probably listened to Pearl Jam far more often at the time, "Come As You Are" is *the* definitive song of the whole Grunge period"
Também é minha preferida! Lembro de ouvir a versão acústica na infância e fiquei impressionado com a atmosfera da música
Vortigan07 couldn’t put it better myself. Pearl Jam is my sound man, but nothing beats the haunting feeling as “come as you are” does. 🤘🏼
@@Vortigan07 he knew he would do it the lyrics say "I swear I swear I don't
My dad was at Reading '92 and saw Nirvana...I'm so jealous
Same man. Lucky fuckers aren't they
Alp Eren You serious?
Alp Eren it is not about english but fuck it...'92 means 1992
John Papakostas the turk man doesn't use our numbers in his language :'c
Nicolaxito1232 dude its known that numbers like '92,'04and shit like that mean 1992 2004...
incredible how timeless nirvana is.
Mackenson Sparks yeah no shit too bad smart phones where out back than and cellphones were released yet the only thing u could do is buy an actual camera or bring a tape recorder lol!

IT SAYS 4 YEARS AGO!
Your right timeless music started listening to them after I heard a couple of songs than read heavier than heaven.
Book is fuckin great if your a nirvana fan dudd
So damn true
I was there
lost my 'Converse All Stars' in the mosh and had to hitch home. Got caught hitching on the motorway by the police. Had to walk through muddy fields in bare feet and slept in a barn. Still got home in time for church on Sunday :- )
Curry and a Pint for real, wow
I woulda done that 100000000 times to see them live
That's a hell of a story you have in your memory book.
Curry and a Pint what a experience dude haha.
How did you get home in time for church on Sunday when Nirvana played on the Sunday? Hahaha
I love that you can actually hear the bass! So many bands just totally cover it up with guitars, but this is perfect!
Nirvana was not "most bands", maybe that's why
Actually you can play this on the guitar and sound just like the bass.
Couldn't say it better.
Check out Muse :)
listen to Lounge Act (same concert), bass i undescribeable
he hed the coolest voice I've ever heard
Sexy as fuck voice!
you think this is cool? try alice in chains, laynes voice is soooooo good
Guy Glick I prefer Ronnie James Dio... But is a matter of taste, right?
@Richard Skipper both are great, but Cornell's voice was the shit
@@anemia94 But have you heard Freddie Mercurys voice that is the best there is imo
The opening of this song is so iconic. So 90s and grunge
Like a time machine back into a dingy club with folks sitting on the floors..
Dude had a whole lotta soul. And one of the coolest riffs ever.
mikey havenside it's not his riff
Whaaat??? That's cray. It's Nirvana's riff.
mikey havenside check out Killing Joke - Eighties
You can thank The Damned for that one ;)

Kurt was such an awesome singer. So raw and powerful.
+Kurt Cobain lol
He WAS great. His voice was amazing and he was pretty much hitting all the notes all the time. Imagine if he hadn't been on drugs...Don't forget he was also playing the guitar and rocking. That's pretty exhausting. All the other singers, just sing...they can concentrate on just being good singers.
^hitting all the notes ? lol Kurt is a unique singer but not the best if we talk in technique, please next time in your life dont talk about something if you dont know it
Joe Bryant But they didn't take it out of Lithium in the same show
He's got that raspy voice love it
Nirvana: one of the few bands who sounds better live than in studios
Debatable. At many shows Kurt was high as a kite and would constantly fuck up the songs, at least on guitar. Personally I still love it as it juat adds to the whole Grungy-ness of the music, but it'd deter many from listening
I personally believe that almost all Nirvana songs are better than their studio counterparts.
Most of the time, he'd fuck them up on purpose. IIRC, he grew to hate Smells Like Teen Spirit because fans only liked its sound, so he'd butcher it from time to time (especially on TOTP, but that was for a different reason).
I believe the Live At Reading version of Aneurysm is better than the studio version, but that's my opinion. Still a great song either way
Oasis in 94-95 got to be up there ☝️
He makes guitar playing and vocals seem so easy; fluid, mellow & poignantly nostalgic. kurt influenced me to develop my voice, no matter how scary it is to others lol
I want to hear your voice
im 100% sure you dont know how to play guitar because this song is super fucking easy try listening to holy wars by megadeth thats way harder to play and sing
@@spaghettisauce445it’s way harder I agree Come as you are still takes some practice to play right while singing 🤷🏻
Same! Kurt inspired to want to become a singer and guitar player myself and I’m practicing a lot…. I think the first thing to do is just start doing it and don’t give up 🤝
@@spaghettisauce445no need to brag buddy
Just thinking about it.
How bloody lucky did a person have to be to see these guys live.
Makes you think..
Sameeee
+MrRooney georgee i was of an age when they were hot, one of the few cd's i bought in them days. If i'd known i might have seen them in concert. Unfortunately "Nevermind' was at or near their peak.
+Robert Maybeth i always think the same
I saw a few months before he killed himself. They were amazing live!
MrRooney georgee Right??? My boyfriend saw them twice and I am so envious! He saw them once our home town Victoria and once in Vancouver with Mudd Honey..... He said he enjoyed Mudd Honey more and still doesn't really like Nirvana.
Kurt's been gone almost as long as he was old... Fuck.
this year marks is that year. holy crap
He's now been dead longer than he was alive. Frances has outlived him as well.
Putting things into perspective: I was born a few weeks after Nevermind got released.
@@paulgraves1392 damn
He was 25 before he turn 27 to suicide hisself in 1994
the way the crowd roars as kurt plays the opening riff will never seize to amaze me
its reesa cease to amaze
Sorry
One of the best songs ever created.
the guitar in this sounds so fucking beast
If there's one thing I took away from Nirvana, it's that pain is very real no matter how small it might seem on the outside and the degree of pain is relative to how much you've experienced before. Eventually you become numb I guess.
I first loved Nirvana when I was a little and no matter what music I got into throughout life, I always came back to them, especially in the bad times. As an adult in my late 20s now, I come back to Nirvana and smile with nostalgia but also in a self reflective way. I smile like you would seeing a kid be young, innocent, dumb and happy. In a way it makes me remember my younger self like he's my little brother.
I look back and smile because the pain I felt and related to back when I was a teenager was so insignificant to what I can deal with now as a stronger person. I smile at the victory of it almost. There were times when I genuinely couldn't bare to live and couldn't imagine actually living any more into the future. I swear to you with all sincerity I genuinely hit lows that were so dark I couldn't conceive of the idea of things getting better and having a life worth living. But here I am, pretty content, I made it. Sounds dramatic I know. Just another reason why I smile at it. I almost rolled my eyes reading back lol. But at the time, that is genuinely how I felt. Just complete doom and darkness, and Nirvana was the only place I could go to to at least feel something.
Nirvana taught me that pain is very real but life goes on and you become stronger no matter how little you believe that at the time. Whatever you feel right now will be different in the future. I understand why Kurt decided to end it, I just wished he hung on a bit longer, he would have made it I'm telling you. He just needed to survive that rock bottom.
thanks dude, i needed that 😄
Since the day he came in this world everything Kurt ever did led up to that one fateful day.
A generation with insecure attachment and their icon
Nirvana: Freedom from pain and external suffering, a place of perfect peace and happiness.

i know, it was one of the first I learnt on bass.. this, Give it away RHCP and Dammit BLINK 182.. when music was fucking brilliant, now what?? just keep playing the old shit

Remember when music had passion.. Good times
I tell my kids this. Music today is to corporate.
Still does. You just have to find it and not listen to mainstream music
Music still has passion homie, you might be looking in the wrong place is all. I know you you don't mean anything by it, and your comment is just reminiscence, but it's p antithetical to the core beliefs of Nirvana. The People are still out there, there are kids with the same passion and raw talent and energy as Kurt Cobain. There are kids out there making music inspired by the same people you admire. Music was as corporate and manufactured back then as it is today. Nirvana was special because they were an affront to everything before them, and everyone around them. It's easy, with the lense of time, to look back and think "these guys were the greats, they don't do it like this anymore!", but people said that about Hendrix when Nirvana was on the radio. This is a good song though, and their sound is something unique, so if you prefer the safety of this to the new and unfamiliar? Who the fuck am I to judge? Just don't bitch about the golden age of music being over, because you sound like the same people who bitched about Nirvana being too new school
he had an amazing voice. you don't usually see musicians performing with the pitch higher than the regular version, usually it's lower. but Kurt was so talented he can do it higher with more ability. beautiful. R.I.P
For everybody asking why does he have a hospital gown on he was acting like he was sick at the beginning and a guy wheeled him out to the mic and Kurt stood up like he was going to sing but he fell over (as a prank to the audience)
I wish that I would've been alive at the time to see such a fantastic concert!!
