What a chilled dog! My Border is the same. Quite happy to just sit and watch the world go by (until a rabbit appears!). I do like monochrome images. It's much harder than it looks! You are a master Andrew.
I just love your charcoal sketches!!!! And what a beautiful landscape! I've never been to Cornwall but now it's on my list 😊. Basil reminds me of my dog Sam. 😍
Liked the llama sticking his head up over the hedge. Haven't seen much in the way of livestock in your sketches, do you not like those black and white shapes in the landscape?
That's a good point - I have drawn the cattle from time to time. They are kept in barns in winter so as not to damage the grass for spring - I will see if I can sketch some cattle soon
You always manage to get such depth in your monochromatic studies. Lovely collection of sketches. Do you use them as reference for bigger paintings? Can I ask what weight of paper the Seawhite sketchbook is? I’ve been struggling to find a heavy enough paper to take watercolour and mixed media? Thanks Andrew
Thank you Jennie I do use them for painting reference but they are more about ideas and getting a feel of the place. Also good for experimenting The sea white is 160gsm weight
Klasse,,, , liebe diese Zeichnungen...👍👍👍
Thank you Douglas
These were all quite nice!
Thank you Judith

Thank you so much 😊
Basil is chilled out now he’s older and learnt the routine. He would have gotten into mischief in his youth 😃
Beautiful sketchbook Andrew.☘️
Thanks Rosemary 😃

Hi Andrew love your work what is the best scetchbook for oil painting
Thank you Fred
I’m not too sure about that. Maybe something heavyweight with a smooth texture that you can gesso before use

Casiene, that triggered me. Weird paint. Long ago I did some experience. Thanks for triggering me!!
Yes it’s a bit of an acquired taste
