A very few climbers are born differently and can achieve this level… it keeps on amazing and frustrating me at the same time. From beginner to V6 in 2 years and from V6 to V8 in 5 more years and now I’m stuck 😊. Happy but stuck
I think that was exactly what she tried to say, that she does it for fun and the history of the route, and grades just come with them. I am sure that between v6 and v8 there are countless incredible routes around to enjoy!
20 years ago rising to 8a in 4 years would have been a Top story! Amazing. Great video, editing and cinematography are outstanding, you somehow get the right balance adding transitions or simple cuts and still telling a story with superb visuals including the drone views, so dope and cinematic as well!
You’re still in an elite group my friend. Still very few people on this earth that climb . So the fact that you’re up there rock climbing is very special.
That's amazing. I look up to her when she is always smiling. Her skill got in 4 years is SO impressive. Great video and shots, too, end of the video is higly cinematic and great sound design
Climbing is probably the one sport where natural strength ratios can propel you to the upper echelon of skill level in a mere four years. I don't climb much anymore, but I started climbing at the same time as a friend of mine. Almost right off the bat he could basically campus up V8 from purely insane grip strength, while I was struggling on V4. A few years later he was repeating Seigrists local 14c FA. He was a great climber and hyper dedicated, we both were, but he was a full two numbers grades ahead of me just by the virtue of genetics.
Her approach is why gym climbing / the Olympics excites me… these are dedicated athletes and this is the result. Absolutely aww inspiring and climb on - this was fun to watch
I've been climbing for 4 years now. 7c sport and 7b+ boulder. Im happy with my progress. Im also older than she is so that also affects here and I didnt have any sport background
She looks like someone who doesn't do it just for fun, but goes for things 1000%. I'd imagine after the made up her mind, which was apparently very quickly, she straight up went full out climbing and training. She has a good training ground nearby, she has excellent physique from previous top level sports, she's used to performing at top level sports so she knows how/why to train. Relatively young too. I'd say a perfect storm combined with excessively hard work and all with a smile.
@@chaozzah You forgot about genetics. Everything you wrote is true, she deserves every praise and is obviously a super hard worker. But there are many teens like that and they still won't be able to achieve this level. Fingers of steel that don't get injured are the key.
Brilliant climber and amazing video (Videograph is my job), the Drone Operator is also a Master like Martina, the shooting techniques are great and never boring. However, Martina is clearly out of a normal progression
I always wonder how semi-professionnals earn their life. I mean, unless you are in a national team or heavily sponsored, you can not live just from climbing. What kind of job makes it possible to climb that much every week and everyday? If anyone has the secret, I'd glad to hear it! Very impressive to think that you can go so far so quickly, hats off ma'am!
First ever route they had me to put down was a 7b+ and they told me it was a beginner's one. I thought it was pretty tough to start with, was amazed, but said "I think I can climb harder". Only then they told me what was going on. So remember folks, mind over matter and mind determination plays such an important role.
I'm one of those lower hearing types and Martina's accent is too much for me. Captions would really make a difference since I know I'm not the only one who has these sorts of problems.
You clearly need to be more consistent 2 years to reach V6 means you weren’t climbing hard those 2 years and you probably still aren’t climbing hard I’m currently climbing projecting V6 and I’ve been climbing less than 2 months I climb 4-5 times a week you just have to be dedicated bro
You need much more than that : time, friends, usually money if you climb indoors, a car if you climb outdoors, a crag and/or a gym nearby. You would be surprised how hard it can be sometimes to climb as much as you'd like to. You truly are a lucky guy.
I’ll get injured if you keep this amount of loading, at most 3 to 4 times with good rest and don’t project all the days. Climbing is a skill sport, you need to be strong but technic at the early stages is far more important than strength

V8 is strong!💪🏼
Get a training plan 🤙🏽

I will make a documentary of myself beginner to 6b in 4 years. :(
JSUSUAUAUAA
Don't worry, my documentary would be the other way round!

Dont worry I did beginner to 6a in 5 years haha

She's something special. Love her attitude. You can tell she really loves it
Hats off, so much determination and a natural talent!

i remember seeing this vid when I started climbing and wanting to do V15 in 4 years. V0 to V11 in 10 months I trust the process
Would have been nice if it focused more on how it was possible for to climb 9a after just 4 years.

it is becoming more and more natural and normal to climb 9a
don't forget how extremely technical and difficult it is, like, for real
gracias por el video. haya gente con muy buenas capacidades y oportunidades

If you are part of the national team you have an income, sure not an high one but more than enough for a climber
Depend on your country,, i would say the best thing to do is try to sell something and u will still have a lot of time to climb
"05:26" What kind of belay knot is she using?
I was asking myself that same question
It's a bowline knot, commonly used because it's easier to untie than the figure 8
Hi, it's a doubled bowline knot.
Bowline on a bight aka. “Doppelter Bulin” in German.
Nœud de chaise in French
Amazing! Go Martina!
Who's the song and artist of the last song of the video?
Maschine !

Incredible
Vous avez le nom de la musique qui commence à 3min ?
3:26-3:29 is how I knew she was next level
Was the final section in Briancon?
Yes, I was there with the Director, Yuri Palma. A real amazing crag, Fournel
@@uominipareti Wow...I hope to visit someday!
When did you climb your first 8a?
This reminds me of the new generation Japanese and Brazilian skateboarders
Just 14-16 year old kids destroying everyone

Is climbing 6b in 3 sessions good? Do I have a chance of climbing 9a in 4 years! Haha
Yes!
Is this particularly impressive or something? I've been climbing for three years and am currently on v4.
99% of people who climb regularly will hit a plateau at v7 or 5.12. Training for most becomes necessary to progress into v10 or 5.13+
non si capisce cosa dice ....,
The music on this video couldn't be more over the top and obnoxious. Then I see the channel name is "EpicTV" and it makes sense

@@Airsofter3009 absolutely. Time, money, distance, transportation and an already exhausting job, make climbing 4-5 times a week not a thing *for me*
