RIP Marc-Andre. I didn't know of him until I watched "The Alpinist" last week. Truly an incredible climber and inspiration to any outdoor adventure-seekers. He lived short but made a huge impact and left a great legacy.

I watched The Alpinist without knowing anything about this man. Nothing ever makes me cry but when the part where they found that rope sticking out of the snow happened it hit me hard and I had to pause it and cry a little. What an amazing human being Marc was, and he lived more than most people that make it to their 100th birthday have in his short time on this earth.

RIP M-A.L. You brought a style, technique, and passion to climbing that only ever comes once in a generation. All of that came from your passion to just get out and climb for the sake of climbing. A humbleness and steadiness and steel mind that only ever comes with the purest form of unquenchable passion and love. Climbers around the world for generations perpetuum will always speak your name with the utmost respect and reverence. Your story invokes nothing but the sacred and unexplainable drive to climb and the spirituality of you, your gear, and the mountain. A shooting star forever in our hearts. Thank you, Marc. We took for granted the time we had to see your light shine across the climbing world. And the way Brette speaks about you in The Alpinist and other footage and her still very fiery passion for climbing is a next-level philosophy that anyone can admire and recognize as special. When she is talking in the end of the Alpinist, I have not cried so hard for someone I've never met. Her love for you glows in her eyes each time she talks about you. Brette, thank you. Marc, thank you. The world iwas / is a better place because of souls like you. All my love, thank you

Live a full life or live a dull life. What a difference one letter can make. And what a difference one person can make.
He lived more in his 25 years than most of us will live in 3X that amount.
You have but two lives and the second one begins when you realize that you only have one.

Seriously this is one of the best climbing videos I’ve ever seen in my life, the music is just perfect, i think I’ve seen it like ten times and I could watch it again and again without getting tired of it, the athletes are amazing and everything is just perfect in this video.
Rest In Peace Marc, you were such a talented athlete, you are an inspiration for me and for a lot of people.

You watch these people who do these incredible things, you genuinely feel them, and then invariably they pass before you get any chance to feel more or enough. Going by what they do mind you, the tragic sadness is mostly underscored by the fact it’s never a total surprise. R.I.P young man and the colleague who left with you. You’ll forever be young and strong.

Brilliant little film! Marc Andre LeCler was such an exceptional talent and humble soul..........he packed a hell of a lot of climbing into a very short life ........definitely a unique human being. I would be amiss not to mention the talents of Brett Harrington. A fantastic climber and a real inspiration to all the women.........she is definitely one tough little package and she and Marc Andre made a great team both on and off route........so very saddened when I learned of Marc Andre's death .......to be sure, he will not be forgotten !!!

The human spirit of the climbers in this video is insanely beautiful. To have the courage and fortitude to go where so few of us can and with such respect for Mother Nature in all her glory is truly transcendent. Thank you for sharing this experience, for the inspiration and for reminding me what life is truly about. Every moment counts. R.I.P. Marc. Your life as an explorer is a beacon and tribute to those that have gone before and to those who will follow in your footsteps.

A former climer who escaped tragedy in a blizzard of 87. I realize now that my young brain back then ( undeveloped) was so confident I took too many unacceptable uncalulated risks. Please young people. Survive to climb another day needs to be a top consideration . Pre plan limits than you cannot break. There are too many casualties. Learn that your confidence, is your most dangerous aspect. Train your brain to only go after a well calculated success is possible.
